BioLife Plasma Services - Terrible staff communication

I had an unsuccessful donation on 9/17/22 and did not receive my RBC’s back following my first withdraw cycle. This was the first time this happened to me, although I have had similar experiences with hematomas and failed stick attempts at BioLife, but NEVER any other plasma donation companies such as Octopharma or Biomat. I was never told that I would be deferred for seven days following my failed donation, only given an electrolyte drink and told to wait 30 minutes before I could leave. I returned for my next donation today, 9/21/22, only to be told that I was deferred due to this being my “third failed attempt in six months”. This was not communicated with me, nor did the staff communicate with each other the day of my failed donation. If the staff had communicated better, I would have been given the opportunity to use my right arm for a second attempt, however, my phlebotomist did not try my right arm due to a bruise which was caused from the previous donation, although RN had cleared me to donate using the bruised arm. The staff treats clients as if the are in lower level military as soon as you walk in the door of the Largo FL location, however, they do not give clients the respect of using proper communication or increasing their knowledge so that constant mistakes such as hematomas and “adjustments” are needed resulting in multiple sticks and deferrals that are not the clients’ fault.

Desired outcome: TRAIN YOUR STAFF BETTER!!! I have visited every other donation company in the st Pete area and have NEVER experienced the need for a deferral caused by a staff members’ incompetence.

BioLife Plasma Services - Extremely unprofessional employee

May 25 2022

I was interested in donating Plasma. Iv Always been nervous about donating (fear of needles) but I know its for a good cause an could potentially save a life. As I arrived to the location I collected myself an grew confidence to finally do this. As I was walking in I saw an employee get out of her silver mercedes. she had dark hair, tattoos, a little on the heavier side walking in as well so I said hello trying to ease my nervousness she snaped her head back an said What do you want? Dont talk to me!

That very moment I turned directly back to my vehicle an was in shock how rude somebody could be out of nowhere! This has bothered me everyday since then till now. BioLifePlasma you should be ashamed

BioLife Plasma Services - People with limitations

Worst place for people with limitations. I have a bad back and can't stand for long periods of time.
1st problem I was standing in line to have vitals done leaning on the counter to release back. When I was next in line I walk towards the counter and I said could I please sit down and wait for you to be done cleaning and he said no get back in line. So I did and didn't complain.
The next time I went in I got done with medical and they had a long line for the donate chair. I stood a few minutes until my back started hurting and then I sat in a chair. I let the guy know was in line and he was ok with it. A worker came up to me and said I had to stand in line or leave. I spoke to the supervisor on duty (Sammy) and she also told me if I could not tolerate standing then I could leave. They could even offer me a chair to sit in while I was in line. There are 5 other plasma locations that will and have treated me better. No money is worth disrespect!

Desired outcome: Chairs being available for people waiting and employees being more aware of others needs
