Bank of America review: A 12 day hold placed on a 500.00 check. At a time when customers need all the help they can get.

My Bank of America branch in Arcadia, CA closed early. I had gone there to deposit a 500.00 check from my father. This check was drawn on Citizen's Business Bank which was right down the street. Unfortunately they were closed as well. 4:00pm on a Thursday. So, I deposited the check at the ATM. I saw right away a hold was placed on it. For a 500.00 check. They didn't even release 100.00 when I think they legally have to release some of a check when a hold is placed. I later found a 12 day hold was placed on my check. I called customer service and asked if I brought in a copy of the cancelled check, would they remove the hold. Twice I called to ask this. The first time, I was spoken to very rudely by a young woman. She said there was zero chance I could get my funds before 12 days because it was a new account. Sorry. The second time I called and talked to a young man named Ronnie, he was a bit more civil but said the same. I even tried to reason with them about the quarantine situation and things are dire, we need cash, to no avail. This is amazing.
