Aspen Dental Fraud

In February of 2022 went to get assessment of teeth. Was told 15 surfaces needed to be filled and a root canal. Told them I can’t afford this work on a yearly basis and asked for dentures. They told me this type of work was normal at my age even with perfect oral hygiene practices. Got the work done and within 24 hours fillings were falling out. They told me it was due to “difficult surfaces to fill in the first place”. This caused excruciating pain. I got the root canal done and waited for a crown to see if the root canals alone would fix my problem like they said it would. It didn’t. I couldn’t have anything in my mouth including my tongue without extreme pain. They finally agreed to dentures after trying to sell me implants. They made faulty temporaries and refused to fix them until I threatened legal action. The denturist found the issue and said they wouldn’t work regardless of “fixes” and made a second pair that fit properly minus one side being off in the bite. The dentist and the denturist keep telling me dentures are not a solution, only implants will function and be made properly (or to my satisfaction). I am being told I will never have a quality of life as long as I have dentures, they refuse to fix poor work, and now they refuse to let me out of a contract they failed to have good faith in themselves as well as a product they promised they could deliver on and won’t or can’t because it is not implants. I was coerced into signing for credit with false information so they could get their money and now they have sent $500+ of a balance to THEIR pre-collections agency. They refuse to make the permanents until that balance is paid and they refuse to let me go to their other offices until is is paid yet I don’t have what I paid or will be finishing paying off.

Desired outcome: Money back

Aspen Dental Full mouth x rays done without consent now being billed for them, this was not the reason for my visit.

I am writing in response to my bill. I had an appointment last December 2021. My Mother called for an emergency visit because I could not get in with my dentist, Dr. Krizner due to my work schedule and I had tooth pain and needed a root canal. I stated the reason for my visit was to have this tooth checked and start the process of a root canal. When I came to the office myself and my mother, Tricia Olesko provided the front desk with both insurance cards. One insurance from my Mother and one from my Father in which I was covered on both. They made phone calls and verified my insurance to make sure that the visit would be covered. Once back there, I was told I needed an x rays. I did not realize they were going to do a complete work up on me. I did not need this, I have a regular dentist and only wanted my one tooth addressed. I see on the bill you did full mouth x-rays (Complete Series Rdgrphc Images) which I was told by my insurance company that they only cover these once every three years. First of all, why was full mouth x rays done for one tooth? This was complete unnecessary. You had no right to do this and not consult my insurance first to see if it could be covered. Everything i needed was addressed at the front desk upon arrival! My mother called there yesterday since she is the Responsible Party for the Insurance. We also told you this the day of my visit and you have that wrong on my online account. Rebecca would not speak to her until she talked to be because she said she was not listed on my account. I have attached the info I printed off from my online account that shows she was and still is listed on my account! She has my permission to discuss anything related to my treatment or billing etc.

I am not paying this amount you are requesting of $67.48. I received the first bill in April (my visit was December 2021) and I addressed this then with the Uniontown Office and now 4 months later I am receiving another bill with “ACCOUNT PAST DUE” on it! This is absolutely ridiculous! What you did on my visit was not requested or authorized. You cashed in on my insurance! It was made perfectly clear when the visit was scheduled by my mother, that I was coming for tooth pain, one tooth! My needs were also relayed when I came to the office the day of the visit. You took advantage of the fact that I have two insurance companies and did a complete work up on me and this is simply illegal on your part! If you did not get paid enough for the service you provided, that is your problem. If you cannot collect the remaining $67.48 from my two insurance companies then you need to write this off. I do not want this turned into collections either or I will have my attorney contact your company to handle this further. This info will also be sent to your corporate office.

Desired outcome: Dismiss bill of $67.48 and make it right for the amount you over billed for services not requested!

Aspen Dental Denture Repair

I went to Greensboro's AD located on Battleground Ave 7/27/02 for a simple lower partial repair. I paid $181.00 for the repair service.

Less than 10 days later after the repair, the partial broke in the very same place.

I contacted the office to let them know, that the repair had failed.

They are the most unhelpful people I have ever met.

No guarantee on their work, no refund.

They did say, I could come into the office but there going to be another charge.

Can someone help on this situation?

Desired outcome: FULL REFUND

Aspen Dental Diamond Earriings

I had an appointment yesterday at Aspen Dental, 7310 Walton Street, Rockford, IL 61108 on 8/11/2022 at 5:45pm. They had to do x-rays, so they had asked me to take out my earrings. So I did just that and the assistant held on to a pink cup while I put my earrings in the cup. Well low and behold, my earrings were never handed back to me and not thinking I had left, since my appointment was over. I called about 10 minutes later and they had already closed. So left a vm for this morning. My finance went in there this morning, right at 8:00am 8/12/2022 and talked to Jessica. Jessica told my finance that they have no earrings there, like I would lie about that! So what they are telling me is that they will not reimburse my $300.00, and that is cheap as they were on sale. Who do I talk to about this? I am not in the mood to play games. I either want them to find my earrings or reimburse me for $300.00. I have to go back there for another appointment and If I do not hear something from you, I will contact my lawyer.

Desired outcome: Find my diamond studs (earrings) or reimburse me $300.00. and of course those will not be on sale like the day I bought them?

Aspen Dental Customer service and lack of communication

Time after time and visit after visit the people who work at the offices I’ve visited tell me one thing and do the opposite. Whether it’s a follow up or discussing prices. I know I can’t say anything about here say but I would like to believe if someone says something they keep their word. As a customer I would like to see better communication and customer service. I am very disappointed with everything about this place and I have no choice but to stick it out because now I’m in the middle of my Invisalign treatment. However I will be seeking different options afterward.

Desired outcome: I would like to believe that for now until the end of my treatment that customer service and communication improves.

Aspen Dental overcharged - Refund Request

In the months from October 2021 - November 2021, I obtained 3 quotes, from 3 different dental companies for the cost of my desired dental procedures. Although not the lowest quote, I felt Aspen Dental was the best fit for me. On November 4th, I was given, (not an estimate,) a final "out the door" (my words exactly and more importantly, confirmed by Aspen Dental,) price for all my procedures from start to finish, of $10,562.00. My exact words to Aspen Dental were that there will be no additional charges once this amount was paid in full. I was assured this was the total cost for everything start to finish. The entire process would take months as I had pins inserted into bottom gums to eventually attached false teeth to these pins. I went to each appointment and when the pins were finally ready to have the false teeth attached, they would not proceed unless I gave them an additional $717.00. When I asked why, the billing department told me " Well a lot of people decide not to finish this last step because they're comfortable with the temporary teeth they had been given earlier." I thought she was kidding but realized she was not. Why would I go through having metal pins inserted into my gums, wait 6 months for them to heal and then back out? I wouldn't! She said the original $10,562.00 did not actually include the final step. I was assured in November 2021, that this amount included everything...start to finish! I paid the extra $717.00 on June 3, 2022, in order to get the procedures and office visits finished but am asking for $717.00 refund as I know I was overcharged. Attached please find the procedures that were difficult for me to interpret which is why I was assured several times, that $10,562.00 was the Total "Out The Door," cost for what exactly what I had done. Attached are receipts of my payment showing a total paid of $11,279.00. I am requesting a refund through this website and will not stop here if this proves to be fruitless.

Albert Badamo

Desired outcome: Refund to my credit card of $717.00

Aspen Dental Invisalign Procedure

Aspen Dental located in WarnerRobins GA Watson Blvd...Back in October of 2021 I preceeded with getting the invisalign 12 treys I wanted to wait before I we went forward with things to be sure I would be able afford everything well when I get to check out the lady told me about care credit that I could apply if I didn't have funds to pay. So I applied and got approved. So therefore I'm looking things over as the cost of all. $4500 at the most a discount of $1500 I see and I'm guessing the insurance and care credit handle the rest. So I've received 11 treys up until this year in Feb 2022 I think could be alittle off with the dates...So I was scheduled to go in back May of 2022 missed my appointment so I called several times left a message to reschedule my appointment up until this month of August noone haven't called me or anything about rescheduling my appointment until August 1st or 2nd I decided to try again now let me add this in between June&July I have received 2 bills stating I owe $1,000 an outstanding balance. Now back to August 1st around 2nd of this year finally I get someone on the phone after jumping through hoops customer service with her transferring me over to them and still no answer so she emails the supervisor there to call me back still no call ridiculous after 3 to 4months trying to contact them about my appointment and this bill I have now Im really upset. So of course I keep calling on August 1st or 2nd after 3 to 4 times calling finally I get someone on the phone "Jesus thank you" so I speak with Janice a nurse clerk there about the bill and my appointment. So I'm asking how in the world do I owe $1,000 when everything was settled last year around proceeding with the Invisalign procedure why wasn't I told with a couples days that my insurance didn't cover the other amount of $1,000 noone called me, noone said anything which is not fair or right. Now I'm feeling violated about this whole thing. Yall got me in there tells me we can close that gap on the right side of you mouth and straighten all your teeth with this procedure for this amount. I don't care what doctor it is you all should have waited to make my insurance was going to pay so that this outstanding balance could have been put on the care credit card yall had me to apply for it now you saying I can't come for my last trey of invisalign nor can I make my appointment and nor can this outstanding balance be charge on the care credit card. This is not my fault you all set all of this up us patients don't ask enough questions so you all figure violating us is okay. $1,000 wow I can't believe we are professionals but didn't handle this professionally. So I am still waiting on Juanita from that office to call me back like she said and no call to this day. What am I suppose to do before this hits my credit and I still have the hardening on my teeth that holds the treys in my mouth. It's embarrassing to smile with this on my teeth. I need answers please. You can reach me at [protected] Mattie Cross

Desired outcome: This outstanding bill needs to be handled by the office. Really would like my last trey so I can have this hardening removed from my teeth please.

Aspen Dental No retainers as promised, no flexi dentures I paid for, no return of phone calls from team members when promised.

I have been wearing week 25 sure smile aligners since June 2nd 2022. Today is June 5, 2022. With me wearing aligners for this long you would think the doctor would offer to make me a fresh pair of the same week I'm currently wearing which is week 25.

On June 21st, 2022 I went into the dental office in Brentwood Missouri.

I saw Christa Mustafa who inspected my teeth to see if I needed another aligner or if I should keep week 25 aligners which is what I was wearing. Christa Mustafa said my teeth lined up and I did not need to wear another aligner. I asked Christa Mustafa when I shoud receive my retainers she said it should be within two weeks. We both discussed what I wanted to do about my missing teeth. I told Christa and the dental assistant that I wanted to get flexi dentures until I can afford to pay for all three implants. The dental assistant took me to billing, I made a payment of $945.60 which was on June 21st, 2022. After making the payment I went back into the exam room and a dental assistant took impressions and she matched my teeth and gums the best she could.

On July 11th I started calling to see if my retainers came in and a team member said that they will call me when it comes in. On July 15th I called the office and a team member said she was unsure. On July 15th and July 25th I sent messages thru Dental Monitoring hoping I could get a live person to call me with no success. On July 27th I called and I spoke to a team member regarding my case but there was no clarity so I called management and I explained my case. The manager called the Brentwood office and I spoke with a woman who said her name is Laura and said she's new that she will see what's going on and she will call me back and to take it with her. On August 2, 2022 I called the office and I asked to speak with Laura a team member name Ariel took my name left me on hold and she got back on the phone and said that Laura was with a patient and she would call me back. Ariel also said that the doctor wants to know how I would like to move forward concerning my missing theeth. I explained my situation to Ariel and I told her to check with billing that shoudn't be a question because on June 21, 2022 I paid $945.60 for flexi dentures. I asked her how long she's been there she said she's been there for two months and said she was sorry. I told her to have Laura to please give me the call I've been waiting for. Today is August 5th 2022 and I still haven't heard back from Laura so I called management again and I explained my situation with no return call from Laura which was promised. The manager told me that Laura told her that she was under the impression that the team member took care of everything. The manager apoplogized to me and she said that Laura is expected to call me on Monday and she requested that Laura informs them of when she contacts me.

This matter has really inconvenienced me I should be spending my time doing other things not this!

Desired outcome: I want my retainers and flexi dentures that I paid for and an apology from all the staff that's responsible for me not having my retainers and flexi dentures which I should have had, and to apologize for not returning my calls as promised.

Aspen Dental Extractions and unsanitary equipment

8-4-22 went in after having X-rays the prior week. I was told I needed 5 teeth extracted and so the appt was set and I paid for the nitrogen gas prior to today and went to appt at 8am and they placed the cup over my nose and and dr. Did the shots on both sides of my mouth and only one side was barely numb then I told the dr I couldn’t breathe which I’m a heart patient so it was concerning then they took it off and check it and out it back on me, which again I could breathe the I pulled it down to look inside and it was so black and moldy, he immediately got mad and said I’ll refund your money as far as the gas then said let’s pull them right now which I said NO, he was mad and said get out which I left and went to another dentist which I didn’t need 5 teeth taken out and that he would have broken my jaw trying to pull a bottom moler without surgery cause the roots were so long. This is just a horrible and terrifying experience

Aspen Dental Full upper extraction and upper denture

On February 22, 2022, I had an appointment at Aspen Dental on 2849 N. Germantown Parkway, Memphis, TN 38133. I had an initial examination to determine a treatment plan. I was very nervous and knew that I was going to hear would be relatively unpleasant news since. I struggled with postpartum depression in 2020 after delivering my son and completely neglected my health. However, now feeling better mentally and overall, I knew that it was time to face the facts and begin my journey towards taking control of my life again. The first step on that plan, was my dental health.

I was aware that there were a few steps/appointments that would need to take place prior to my full upper extraction and receiving my immediate upper denture. The total price for the procedure was $2,598.00. I was advised that I would have to pay half on the day of my impression’s appointment and the remaining balance on the date of the extraction procedure and to receive my immediate denture. I was advised that I would wear the immediate denture for six months, then I would receive my permanent denture.

On March 10, 2022, I went in to have my impressions made and made my first payment of $1,299.00 which is half of the total cost of the procedure. On March 22, 2022, I had an appointment for a wax bite registration. The dentist inspected the molds and wax bite registration and said that they were perfect. On March 29, 2022, I had an appointment test my wax try in. The dentist stated that everything looked great and that they would send everything to the lab to have the immediate dentures made. I was then scheduled to come back on April 7, 2022 to have my extraction procedure completed as well as receive my immediate denture.

I am seeking legal counsel regarding with this matter because I am extremely unhappy with this experience and the immediate dentures I have received. They have remade my immediate dentures 3 times and as I informed the dentist during my last visit at which I received my most recent dentures, they still are not right. They lean back, they’re not aligned, they make my lips poke out, they are painful, and they are not pleasing aesthetically. I informed the dentist about my concerns the same day. She made a few adjustments, I still was not satisfied and told her that they were too long in the back and make feel as if I am choking. She simply told me to come back after my trip to Jamaica.

This experience started in February. I trusted this company to give me a smile that I could proud of, but after 3 remakes, too many appointments for adjustments and simply being ignored, I am STILL unhappy and ashamed of my smile. Prior to the beginning of my treatment, I made the dentist and several members of the staff aware of the major events that were coming up for me. I made it very clear how important these events were for me and I was promised that I would be happy and satisfied in time for my events. That was not the case. My niece got married and I was supposed to be a bridesmaid and sing at her wedding. This event took place while I had my first immediate dentures and after giving Aspen several attempts after fixing them. On the day of her wedding, they were not fixed! As I mentioned earlier, this set of dentures were huge and would not stay in my mouth. Because of this, I was unanticipated sing at her wedding. Can you image these oversized dentures falling out of my mouth, when I was already self-conscious of having them in the first place?

The second event was my graduation, and this occurred while we were going back and forth with the 2nd remade dentures and unbelievably, these were 100x worse than the first! They were completely twisted. I know that sounds odd but that’s exactly what they were. When I would put them in, my top lip would twist dramatically to the left because that is the way the dentures twisted. What’s makes this situation even worse is that the dentist knew these dentures were horrible and still allowed me to leave the office. It is obvious that the dentist does not care about their work. I hadn’t seen the second dentures at this point in the appointment and the dentist spent almost an hour and a half trying to “fix” the dentures. Finally, she just gave up, stated that I have a “difficult bite”, told me that I could look in the mirror and when I made it to the mirror, she was gone. Moving forward, the third time was not a charm! Because of the 2nd and 3rd remade dentures I received, I was completely embarrassed and literally depressed by my appearance. I missed my graduation! I didn’t want to look at myself in the mirror so there was no way I could allow thousands of people look at me. Lastly, I had to cancel my celebratory trip to Jamaica for my graduation.

Throughout this process, my treating dentist has changed three times. The other two male dentist who performed my initial exam as well as the second dentist who performed the extraction and handled the process of having my first uppers made, were no longer with the company. Currently, the female dentist was the only dentist in the office. During the process of her going through the steps we needed to take for both the second and third upper denture remake, the excuse she provided to supposedly shift the blame as to why they are having such a difficult time doing their job was, “You have a difficult bite.” I informed her that neither one of the first two dentist who exam and treated me expressed those sentiments of me having a “difficult bite” that would make creating an upper denture for me more difficult. I told her that throughout my entire life of visiting dentist, having braces and up to this point, has anyone told me that I have a “difficult bite”. I also made her aware that prior to deciding to get dentures, I purchased this product called Pop on Veneers. They are basically cosmetic covers that gives customers the look and feel of veneers. I stated that the process to have the Pop on Veneers created is very similar to this process, the only difference is that I created my own molds at home and mailed them back to the lab to have them created. After sending my molds back to Pop on Veneers, I received my new veneers within a few days and even they were able to produce a great product for me! However, I knew that I couldn’t go on simply covering up my damaged teeth and that I needed to take care of the actual issue instead of only being concerned about the appearance of my teeth.

It is my belief that they no longer have my initial molds that were created prior to extracting my teeth. The second dentist who performed the extraction and upper denture process, showed me my 3D molds which showed my complete smile, so I know that they did in fact have a reference to use while creating the uppers. Yet now, the third dentist acts completely lost. She asked me to find an old picture of myself to show her and the technician so that they could see my old smile. I asked her why they wouldn’t use the molds that were initially created. She stated that they can’t, so she needs my pictures.

Prior to the third remake attempt, I called Aspen Dental and spoke with the office manager. I made her aware that I was completely unsatisfied with this entire experience. I informed her that I trusted them to assist me in making a permanent and unforgiving decision by allowing them to remove all my upper teeth and trust that they would provide with me a smile that I could be proud of. She apologized and asked me to allow them one last attempt at a remake. She then goes on to inform me that the guy who worked in their office and made my dentist is no longer with him. She went on to say, “He wasn’t very good at his job. He was just a fill in until we found a good dental technician. We have a new technician now and he’s pretty good.” I responded asking her if the staff in this office was aware of his inability to accurately complete his job and produce a good quality of work, why would they continue to task on new denture patients with the hopes of the technician completely “passable” work! She went on to apologize again and stated that she would speak with the dentist and ask her if she could give me $300 back for the inconvenience if I allowed them a third opportunity to remake the uppers, I agreed.

I am 34-year-old woman. After delivering my second son in 2020, I unfortunately developed a severe case of postpartum depression. This resulted in me completely neglecting myself. Thankfully, after treatment and therapy, I was finally getting back to becoming a better version of myself. However, neglecting myself during that time caused significant dental damage. When I had my initial exam with Aspen, I went in with the expectation of receiving not so pleasant news, but I this was not what I expected. The dentist reviewed my x-rays and performed a brief examination. He then informed me that, my upper teeth were damaged at the roots. He advised me of two options; either have root canals performed on all my upper teeth, which is very expensive or have all my upper teeth extracted and receive an upper denture. My heart sank. I went to my car, sat there in the parking lot, and cried for about 30 minutes. I was filled with shame, sadness, regret, and guilt. I blamed myself for not being able to control my postpartum depression; even though it is something that I had no control over. However, after speaking with my fiancé, I decided to move forward with the extraction and upper denture. This entire process has been horrible!

Since February 22, 2022, I have had fifteen appointments with Aspen Dental. I live 32 miles or roughly 35 minutes away from this location. For each appointment, driving there and back home I have driven almost 960 miles and with the price of gas, those are expensive trips. This entire experience has caused significant mental, emotional, and physical damage. I am now battling depression again; my appearance causes extreme sadness and shame. Everyone wants to be proud of their appearance and Aspen Dental has taken away the small amount of pride I had left. I have missed moments and events that I will never be able to replicate. Now, here it is several months later, and I feel more worse about my smile; or lack thereof, than I did before.

Desired outcome: I am seeking a full refund and a monetary settlement to compensate for the time, pain and suffering, emotional damage, mental anguish, and the loss of quality of life because of their negligence.

I've been going to Aspen Dental for over 2 years went into the dental office on Wednesday March 2 of 2022 in no pain only a cracked tooth with a filling. I was told by the dentist that the filling currently in tooth didn't mix with the current filling mixture used now days and that a crown would be better; because there was a chance the new filling would fall out. I informed the dentist I would be going out of town in April and that it was important for the job be completed before that time. The dentist assured me that it would, so we went into the financial officer's office to discuss the cost of the procedure. I also informed Mr. X of my plan to go on vacation and that the procedure had to be completed by then. Mr. X also assured me that the crown should be completed by March 16th, so I agreed, and the work begun. Making a long story short, April 18th I hadn't received the crown and was told by Mr. X (the financial manager) the lab had lost my crown and a refund would be sent back to my credit card. But in the meantime, I'm left with a temporary tooth in my mouth. While on vacation I received a text message that I could pick up my crown...After finding a dentist to complete the work; I called Aspen asking them to send the crown to my location. May 4th, I received the crown by FedEx only to find while in that dentist's office the crown sent by Aspen was too big and that the partial used to fit over the crown didn't fit. The dentist in Florida ended up redoing the process and making a completely new crown. I've called Aspen time and time again only getting the run around saying a manager or lead dentist will call me back or not getting an answer at all only the answering machine. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income that's really baffled at this time not knowing my next move.

I received my dentures in September 2020 and I have had nothing but problems with them. They have not fit properly since I got them. The bottom have had to be adjusted several times. The top a few times. And as of right now I have either a piece of tooth or bone protruding out of my bottom gum. I called for an appointment and I told them I can't hardly eat because it hurts. They gave me an appointment for September 6th. I told them I can't wait until then. They suggested I go else where. I don't think that's right since I paid them over $7000.00. I don't feel I should have to pay someone else for their mistake. I would greatly appreciate some help with this matter. Thank you

Aspen Dental Dentures and service

Hello,

I am presently a patient at Aspen Dental. I am terribly unhappy with the product that I am paying for. I financed $4000.00 for new dentures and ncan't even get a dentist I'm comfortable with. I am paying for service and should have the right to a dentist that works for me.

In June I went min for new dentures and a single tooth removal, at that time they gave me Dr. Kim as the dentist. From The beginning I said I was unhappy with her, she is very hard to understand, and it seemed she complained about her assistant the entire time. She pulled the tooth and talked to the poor girl the whole time, I felt bad for her.

The impression for new dentures where taken and and things just got worse. #1 the top denture which I really had no trouble with was all of a sudden moving all over the place, I went back several times to get it fixed with no luck. It has several spots that cause pain when I bite down and there is pressure in the front between my lip and gums which causes me to take them out.

#2 the bottom dentures are temps while they complete the final denture. When I chew they push the top ones up further I can't chew meat or eat fruit because they pop out. There are pieces of bone? in the lower denture that are real painful.

I have talked to someone there and their answer is to tell Dr. Kim and she will fix it. Not yet.

I'm 70+ years old and I am scared to death to go back and see what they do.

I'm stuck with the bill because they have already collected all of it.

This is not what you advertise on TV supposedly I should be happy as a lark and have no problems. At this rate I'll never have that smile again.

Desired outcome: I'd like a dentist that is willing to take over her mess. And a hold put on the account until I'm happy.

Aspen Dental Dentures and all teeth procedures.

I was completely lied to from day one at Aspen Dental in Diberville Mississippi. They lied about everything. They stole my hard earned money and made me very depressed. I even had to see a metal health perfessional because of the actions that Aspen Dental employees did to me. I started off 3 years ago wanting to receive dentures and it took 3 years to get them. During the 3 years they stole money and even fired a manager for stealing my money and they didn't own up to it. They pit me through torture everytime I had a visit there. They lied about everything. They made me cry and beg for help the whole time. I was stuck going to them because they already took all the money I had saved to get a new smile. I spent $6000.]0 for absolutely nothing at the end. I can't even wear my dentures. They also made me buy 2 different pairs of dentures just to make sure they got all the money I had saved. They pressured me from day 1 to give them all the money I saved. I made the mistake and told the main Dentist how much money I saved for this. They never not one time gave me good service they even hurt my mouth more than it was in the first place. It was a nightmare and I'm still dealing with all the depression and I can't even wear my dentures. I will be taken them to small claims court ASAP!

Desired outcome: Money back for pain and mental suffering.
