Aspen Dental - Being forced to pay for Motto treatment after they said they were stopping treatment.

I went to the Oak Ridge location where I began treatment with Motto aligners. At a certain point in treatment (pretty much the end) week 17/22 my aligners weren’t shifting my teeth correctly. They removed my attachments to make new aligners. I waited from April until Sept and heard nothing from them. I finally go down in person and ask about the aligners. They say they have them, even though they never notified me. I then made the appt to get the attachments reapplied. Well, when they were reapplied the job was not done the same way it was the first time. The composite that forms the attachments was all over my teeth and the attachments themselves were not even fully shaped to attach to the aligners. I call back to let them know and they schedule me to come back two days later. When I show up that day they ask to speak with me for a second and they tell me that their Orthodontist sent an email saying I didn’t necessarily need the attachments and I could continue treatment without them since my teeth didn’t need to shift that much and they would remove the attachments from two days prior. I asked to see the email, to which the front desk lady replied, oh sure, what’s your email and asks me to have a seat. (Still haven’t seen the email they claimed to have gotten). Next thing I know, the office manager comes and takes me to her desk to talk. Where she proceeds to tell me that they will refund me my money for the Motto treatment. Because they were just going to stop all treatment on Motto since they have had too many complaints/issues and don’t even have a smile advisor (the people trained to apply the attachments)on location. (Turns out it was a trial run of their wanna be version of Invisalign, which they fail to mention when you sign up). I said, oh ok, so what does that mean? She says you’ll get all the money back for that treatment and you should hear from the (I guess) region manager in a few days. She goes on to say that if I want to continue treatment there for other things I was welcome to. I take her word for it and leave. (Since, we were best friends in high school) Well, a few days went by and I receive a letter saying I’m no longer welcome at any Aspen Dental location and still no word about the refund. At this point I know I’m getting the run around. Why should I have to pay for a treatment that I did not receive? How can they half way shift your teeth, then say oh, we aren’t gonna do that anymore and force me to pay for it?

Desired outcome: I want my money back and more! Especially, if this effects my credit!

Not sure how to edit complaint. However, I forgot to mention that when I finally got the readjusted aligners I waited six months for I had 18 more aligner trays I needed to finish. None of that treatment was revived at all!

Aspen Dental - Unnecessary work-over charge-damage to teeth-stole my crown

You can find most of my info with the BBB where I sent in a formal complaint. Long story short
Went in for partial
Was told I had to have deep cleaning even though I had my regular cleaning a few weeks earlier at my dentist Dr Collins in Campbell Co
Was told I needed a 150 toothbrush and other items
Was told I had a cavity under a crown that has never bothered me-I remind you I went in for a partial and that was all I needed. My dentist had made one but could not seem to get it adjusted. I had previously worn a partial for several years.
Drilled in the tooth removed crown and kept it even though I asked for it-my dentist always give the gold to the patient after cleaning it.
They placed a cheap piece of plastic over the tooth that did not last. Repeated this for weeks while waiting on the new crown. Tooth hurt because it wasn't covered properly-bad odor in mouth due to leaking. Continued to avoid putting a goof temporary on the tooth. I was going to work like this-not partial-tooth uncovered-could not use old partial due to the work they did.
The first day day I went in August 2018 the office manager told me I qualified for a 0 interest credit card. They immediately put 1400 on the card before doing any work on my teeth which turned out to be a bank loan. I never received the "credit card" called and learned it was a bank loan and the worker at the bank said what they did was illegal-collecting before was was done. I immediately paid it in full and started going after Aspen dental. I went through 8 months of pain and suffering because they wanted to dump me off on an a endodontist to the tune of $1500 with no guarantee-this is a problem they created by saying I had a cavity which my dentist and the endodontist confirmed was probably a shadow on the x ray.
I got my money back after filing with BBB but was in pain and my dentist hesitated to work on due to the damage being done by Aspen. My dentist covered the tooth with a proper temporary instead of the plastic that ASpen used. I then had to pay for another crown through my dentist. Still might need root canal in the future due to some pain at night...all because Aspen lied and said I had a cavity and removed my crown and undone $6000 work of work I had not had one problem with over the past 15 years.
I called and continue to call Brooke the regional manager and ask for the money she said they would return for the additional crown.
SHAME ON ASPEN DENTAL! I interview several patients during my many trips trying to get my tooth fixed and there are many furious poor folks who can't fight Aspen.
Oh yes when the crown finally came to Aspen the worker got it stuck in my mouth-it was like a rock and I could not close my mouth and she tried to send me out that way. It wasn't glued in just stuck-I cried- she finally got it out and refused to try to get it to fit. Worthless staff-I wonder if they are even certified-anyway my dentist had me a proper gold crown made and after 8 months off hell my dentist managed to adjust the partial he had made and it works ok! Lesson leaned-continue to trust your local dentist and let him/her work till the job is done! Julia Kendrick [protected] . Regional manager if she is still there is Brook-423 507 3097...I pray these chop shops are shut down and I am interested in a class action law suit!
