Aspen Dental Initial visit - office manager before tooth cleaning

I went to your Aspen Dental office in Asheboro, NC, on Oct. 6, 2022, for a dental exam and teeth cleaning. At that time x-rays were taken and I was told I had two minor cavities. Then I was referred to your office manager for costs discussions.

Your manager without showing me anything on her screen told me the dental work I needed would cost me over $2,000.00 over and beyond what my insurance would pay and that tooth cleaning would require an out of pocket cost of $269.00.

Since my insurance covers such procedures at 100% I simply left. She gave no explanation as to why the costs were in excess of my insurance coverage. Whether this was a mistake on your office manager’s part or an attempt to overcharge on your practices I simply will not pay that. If there is an explanation I will listen. Otherwise I will assume it is an attempt to charge over and above normal dentist practice and will find another dentist and I expect your practice to share the dental x-rays with the other dentist.

Desired outcome: perform the tooth cleaning as per my insurance without additional costs to me. My email is [protected]@outlook.com. My home address is 692 Luck Rd, Asheboro NC, 29295. I have set up an Aspen Dental Account number [protected].

Aspen Dental Deep cleaning

My wife, Kathleen [edited], wanted them to look into replacing a crown that is slightly chipped. upon examination they told her she would need to first have a deep cleaning due to bone loss around the teeth etc. They wanted to charge over $2,000 for the cleaning and required a deposit just to make the appointment. As we were getting ready to schedule we realized we have never at any dentist been required to pay$ up front just to make an appointment. So we told them we would think about it and get back to them. We then went to a different dentist who was highly recommended and he stated very clearly that my wife's teeth looked to be in great shape, very well cared for and nothing other than a basic cleaning was required. They even did that cleaning the same day. After this had happened we started hearing horror stories about how aspen pushed deep cleanings on people. They can take a long sitting to get through and aren't cheep. One lady said aspen did her $4,000 deep cleaning in 20 minutes. If that isn't a red flag then what is?

Desired outcome: They should admit to their intentional deception and offer an apology as well as some form of compensation for potentially costing us thousands of dollars for an unneeded procedure.

Aspen Dental Root canal, crown and fillings

Hello my name is Marigny Petrie. I am a current patient of aspen dental in Covington, la. My 1st visit was a few weeks ago, And all was good. A treatment plan was decided and booked. I have revisited a few times since then and received unfortunate news that an overlooked root canal would be required Instead of the planned filling. To say it was a shock to my finances and mental health would be an understatement. However I trust the process and agree to do the suggested plan of action. I then proceed With the root canal and temporary Crown Only to have the temporary fall off not long after leaving the office. I was unfortunately busy for the next couple days and at my earliest Convenience made a visit to the office to rectify the situation. I was then unfortunately greeted with rude Staff and told that I would not be able to be seen till next week. I currently am afraid of possibly damaging the open wound further and im forced to eat soft foods till they can fix it and if the replacement temporary is as top notch as the first, well we know what will happen yet again. I Have had many temporary crowns in the past that lasted many weeks. The amount of money that I have spent with this company over the past couple of weeks is so large that this type of behavior is not only disrespectful but also shows a lack of care for the patient and should be noted as a shameful testament of your business's poor performance record. I hope to finish my treatment plan soon and be happy once again and able to eat and enjoy life normally but that seems of no concern to this company, the only thing they want is money. I hope you take this detailed account of a current patient's misery seriously and work to correct your mistakes and treat myself and other patients with the care and respect that is deserved.

Sincerely,

Marigny Petrie

Aspen Dental Cleaning and services.

Today I was scheduled for a filling. Has a cleaning on 10-20-2022. Was telling the lady that brought her back. That my last cleaning was rushed and unprofessional. And then she took blood pressure. And it was high. Said dentist be in to numb me. Next office manger can’t In yelling at me saying because I complained and I was unhappy with my lady’s cleaning service. I wouldn’t be able to be a patient there no more. I ask her not to speak so loud to me. And explain that last time I was in there. There was a party planned for lunch. Taco Bell and paint pumpkins. And the lady rushed my cleaning. I was happy they was having a party for the staff. but I felt like I didn’t get quality cleaning. Also when I check out after cleaning. she has left me without giving me back my partial. And I ask if I could get it. While making appt for my next appt. She bought out to lobby in bag in front of everyone. Took the card back changed date. Of my appt to Nov 13 which was not a day they was In. I was happy for them. Not knowing there was a problem. But shock things going like they was. I like these lady’s there. So I rolled work it. So much confusion that day. Till today. And then this happens. I have been with this office for over three years. Have never had any problems till this passed 2 visits. I thought I could mention that I felt like I was rushed during cleaning. Because of their office party. I was happy for them. But felt like I deserve what my Insurance was paying for. But because I mention it. To the lady that brought me back. Wow. Did things change. Dentist came in finally told me the dentist that seen me last was no longer there. And she wasn’t doing my teeth. Told me to leave. I told them I couldn’t get my teeth seen by another dentist cause I not able to get examined or cleaning now for 6 months. So here I am stressed and still need a filling. And they got rid of me. After treating me badly. Very toxic people today. Where has this world gone. That no one treat people with honor or dignity Anymore. All they had say were sorry. And take care of me. Or not sorry at all. But still fix my tooth I drive a hour for this appt. And pay ahead for the filling. To be told I didn’t need it and they wouldn’t see me again or work My teeth again. All because I confided in the lady who brought me back to the room. Ive referred many to this office. But in passed 3 years. Lots has changed. I spent lot money there before getting insurance. Now I have insurance and look forward to my cleaning. But not getting treated fair by them. I chose to use them. Cause of I thought they were good. Lots has changed. Never have I been ask to leave by any doctors or dentist office before. And office manger. Very unprofessional and hateful to me. Scare me. Made me sad. Where is our country gone. Very Mean people. Took my money treated me badly. And they felt justified for doing that. Like they don’t care. And no concern that I can do anything. And I can’t. All they had do say were sorry. Didn’t mean to rush me. On my cleaning appt. Instead acted more badly. with more bad service. Made excuses and got rid of me. Treated me like I didn’t matter. So sad. I still need filling. I pray for them. So sad. I was shocked by all of them. They much had bad day and o was one that got the black lash. Again so sad.

Desired outcome: I like my teeth cleaned. And tooth filled. And if they chose not fill my tooth. I like money back for my cleaning. So I can go somewhere else.

Aspen Dental rude dentist

On Nov15 I had an appointment at 9:30 for dental work at Aspen Dental in Danville, Virginia. Everyone was friendly and professional except for the dentist Dr. Roseman. She was extremely rude and condescending. I will not be back because of her. I was not charged for the visit because of my complaint about her behavior. I am just letting you know what type of person you have working for you at Aspen Dental.

Aspen Dental New dentures

Went to Athens Tn Aspen Dental to have replacement dentures made the beginning of September. I was excited thinking I'd have some input as to the final results. Nope! Everything was going quite smoothly through the 5-6 visits. They brought in wax blocks for my mouth, scratched the center of each for tooth placement. I was excited thinking next would be the wax try in. Nope, next visit they had dentures already made and said here you go. There is no way I would of agreed to how these look. One top side is pushed in toward my tongue. There is a very short front wall, when I laugh hard my top lip sets on the top front and I'm afraid it will pull it loose. There is no bulk on the bottom teeth. With them in it still looks like I have no teeth. I figured I'd try them for a while, thinking maybe it was just the newness. They feel grainy or chalky, even after I just clean them. And it seems to be putting a coating on my tongue like something is leeching out of them. Food just tastes blah also.

After a month I went back in, she ground out the roof so the teeth aren't sitting on my tongue, Bottoms all they would say is how fine and natural they looked. I told her I felt like a bird with a big top beak covering the little bottom beak. She said, but we've already made these. I said, without a wax try in. She informed me marking the centers was the wax try in. So I was talked into trying them a little longer.

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response and a refund.

Aspen Dental No dentures/westminster md.

Went to Aspen for new dentures in Nov. 2021. They did the impression, and the dentures were made, took 2 weeks to get them. When I tried the dentures, they were way too big. They attempted makeing adjustments. After numorius visits, still not fixed. They then made another denture, this time, also way too big, and the teeth were short. After more vists, 4 or 5, they made another denture, this time digital, Way too big again, could not make correct adjustments. Also a tooth cracked. So, another denture was made. This one was way too big, with a huge overbite. I was then told that the warranty had run out. So, to replace them again I needed to purchase a new pair. I already paid for them, not paying again when they can't fix the ones I had. They would not start the warranty after each denture. Although, when I went the first, second, third and forth time I was told the warranty started with each one. They now say I was misinformed, they now have a new office manager, and she won't make it right. They should honour the agreement I got when this started. Called the Customer service, was told the complaint would be sent to the higher up, 2 times. About 2 months and still no response from anyone. I am on limited income and can't afford to pay again. I want my money back so I can go elsewhere for dentures. My gums are in bad shape now from misfitted denture. I can only eat soft foods, because the dentures fall out. Also this denture now has 2 cracked teeth. Please help.

Thank you.

Desired outcome: I would like them to honour their ads and return my money.

Aspen Dental Dentures

On Oct 31 after taking 3 different antibiotics Clindamycin, Azithromycin, and Cephalexin, I was still in pain. So Dr. Alpert told me that I would have to have emergency oral surgery on that Wednesday. I went in Wednesday morning they put me under pulled my teeth didn't give me a chance to wake up from the Anastasia, lifted me up threw my dentures in my mouth, didn't even fit them in. Threw me in the wheelchair and then outside my husbands truck. Total of 28 minutes from the time in to the time out. I was still disoriented when I got home. After recovering with my friend caring for me I decided to try these dentures.. They had an 1/2 inch over bite. What the heck these are not my teeth is what I am yelling at my friend... She told to make copies of my pictures and she was taking me back. I have never had an overbite especially 1/2 inch one. After shaving them down I told them they are rubbing on my gums they wanted me to wait 5 days until they redid an impression in the meantime due to my job I had to wear these dentures dealing with the pain of the rubbing and the overbite. On Nov 7 the redid the impression and on Nov9 they did a wax fitting of the teeth to see if it was going to work. I explained to them it still has to much of an overbite. Dr. Alpert proceeded to tell me that is the best they can do, if I don't like it he will give my money back but I would have to render the dentures (leaving me with no teeth) and I can seek treatment somewhere else. I went back on the 10th to get these new dentures that were suppose to be based of the wax fitting and low and behold we are back to 1/2 overbite. They shaved these one's down, now I am dealing with my dry chapped lips my tongue doesn't fit over my teeth to even moistion my lips, I tried eating my teeth sound like a horse clopping, I can't rest my lips closed, my friends are telling my teeth hang to low and with that overbite, I close my mouth, barely reach my lips with my tongue, soars on my gums and a dentist to tell me to deal with it. I paid cash for this deal with it service, cash I didn't really have. I never once used any state assistance. And I have to deal with it. Deal with never being able to go out to dinners with friends, deal with never having a social life, deal with never smiling again.

Desired outcome: I want them to pay for a specialist to fix them and I want my money back. I shouldn't have seek someone else and spend more of money i don't have. They should be compensating for me for their mistake.

Aspen Dental Dentures

It took my (disabled vet) hubby and I 3 yrs to save for me a set of dentures. Not being able to afford a set made not having teeth easier to adjust to. We found a surgeon that donated the surgery to remove the last 16 teeth. Dentures were and to this day are my dream.

Once we had saved enough to afford dentures I called Aspen for a quote and a run down. What I was told on the phone was far from what actually happened in the office.

I was charged Alot double. There was no one day situation. Nor the week I was then promised. It was actually much much much longer. I was made fun of from the moment I walked in. These techs and there manager what literally make jokes just outside my room. I was not give the opportunity to choose the color of teeth. I was not given a temporary set. My calls where ignored. My messages were ignored.

When the day came to get the dentures I was left waiting until the place was closed before getting them. When I questioned the color I was laughed at. Jokes were made about me drinking coffee and smoking and that's the reason for the coloring choice they made. These dentures are so thick in the top front. There are others spots so thin you can see through it. There are little white spots on them. I was refused a remake. I was refused a refund. I was pretty a gift card that never came. I was told I would adjust. I've been refused any adjustments. I have places that cut my gums on the top and the bottom literally comes out even with the best product.

Jokes were made about how small my mouth is and how huge the dentures are. The tech that made them was new and in training.

My whole experience there was humiliation and shame.

I can now say I have dentures. A very expensive paper weight. My hubby just got his last cancer treatment

43rd. While I should be taking pictures of our last memories with him, I will not be in the pictures. I have not ever been more embarrassed about my appearance. I wish not I had just used the money on him. I was fine without teeth while they weren't an option.

Now not so much.

In closing I encourage you to go to a different location or a different kind of business for dentures.

As for me I just want what I way promised and paid for.

Desired outcome: I simply want a refund or real dentures I was promised and paid for.

A cap came out during cleaning and they told there are some cavities under that crown which needs to be fixed and then it would a new crown as old crown won’t fit

After few weeks it came off just like that and when I went to fix that ,they said they cannot save the teeth and have to get a implant there with a huge cost

Had a second opinion and they said the tooth was grinded way too much for any crown to hold and they have to take the tooth out now .

It will cost me a lot to do additional things on it now and I have already spend a lot

I went to Aspen Dental in Richmond, IN to see about their visiting endodontist to do a root canal. They took 2D x-rays & the office gentleman told me what the procedure would cost. This office doesn’t even deserve a 1. I saw a different branch of Aspen Dental on 3/1/22 and signed a treatment agreement and they were fully aware that my insurance paid $1000 and I prepaid my portion. I specifically asked if this covered all the dental cleaning they proposed every 3 months and was told yes it did. So I signed agreement thinking that Mar...

Aspen Dental Dentures

I started the process of having my teeth pulled and getting dentures in 2018. My temporary set were amazing! I left the office after just getting 6 or 7 teeth pulled and went to work third shift no problem. When I went back to get my permanent set, I did not like them. First of all, they sit crooked in my mouth. I went back 3 times to get this corrected but never was. I wore my temporary set as long as I could which ended up being about 3 years give or take a few months. When I broke the tooth from the front of my temporary set, I was forced to wear the permanent set & I still despise them. You can see how crooked they are just by looking at them when I smile. I tried to get them to correct this at Muncie Office but with no success. Now my dad had his teeth done at Aspen, all teeth pulled and a full set of dentures that hurt his mouth. He couldn't eat for a few months because of how bad they didn't fit. He finally just went to another dentist who found a TOOTH still in his gums. That dentist fixed my dad's mouth and relined his dentures. Now he is satisfied. Aspen told him his dentures and mouth were fine! This brought back my frustration with Aspen! My dentures are under warranty, and I want a new pair that fit straight and going through the Muncie office got me nowhere. Signed [protected]@gmail.com

Desired outcome: A new set of top dentures that don't fit crooked for me. Not sure if my dad will even step foot on Aspen soil again!

I had a bad experience. First the office met with me for high pressure sale meeting to get me to sign up for services. They added lots of things I did not really need. They said that my insurance company would pay for 1/2 of the services, and had me take out 1,000 loan for my share. It was a lie because the insurance would not cover the permanent partial denture.. they would only cover the "immediate" (1,089) which was supposed to be temporary.. the permanent partial would be another 1-2k and that it seems would be my additional responsibility. 8 months latter the partial is starting to fall apart. The teeth cleaning they did for me was sub-par, close to 1k, and did not fix all my issues. They tried to include on my bill a water pick and some dry mouth stuff that I did not need . The final bill was $2,900 for cleaning (also went under the gums), post extraction, and temporary partial denture.

Aspen Dental My dentures still don't fit correctly

I came to Aspen dental with a full upper denture and a partial lower denture. On 9/25/15, I purchased the "Classic" set of dentures. I paid $2523.20 which included: 8 extractions/lower immediate classic denture and Hard Reline, upper classic replacement denture. I went in weekly for adjustments. Finally, after 17 months of trying to fit me, I tried to file a case with the BBB. However, the BBB said that I had one year to file. By this time, I'm just fed up with AspenDental. I had surgery on 11/8/16 for a total colectomy. This means that I have no large intestine. My waste comes out through the small intestine into a bag on my abdomen. This is called an Ileostomy. The most important thing living with a bag is to chew, chew and chew foods to prevent blockages and to increase absorption of nutrients. My diet is very limited but I can't chew much of anything without food getting under my denture. It feels like chewing pebbles. On 7/12/17, I agreed to upgrade to "Comfylyte" dentures, which costs an additional $840. Now I'm hopeful that I'll be able to chew and eat more. With my adjustment requests, Apen started to deny me. I was told by the office manager, Chris, that an alignment wouldn't help me. You know your company's statement,"We're Not Happy Unless You Are." I've never been satisfied with Aspen Dental. Patients need to be treated with compassion and respect. As for me, I need to be able to chew foods. Is that really too much to ask?

Desired outcome: I would like implants, then my dentures won't be moving in my mouth. I will not go back to the Jackson, Mi store.

Aspen Dental Patient service.

I have been trying for weeks to schedule a simple appointment for a new upper denture. My first visit was okay but the office manager refused the explanation of benefits from my Dental insurance company. She spoke with them but still required something in writing. Nothing else was done until I contacted my insurance company. They faxed the pre authorization yet I've still had to call the office manager over and over to get this resolved. As of today she has yet to contact me.

Needless to say I will find another dentist.

Aspen Dental Complaint letter re: crown installation

Hi,

Today, November 24, 2022, will be my fourth appointment for having a crown (the same one) installed for the fourth time. Two weeks ago the crown that was installed fell off in my mouth that same evening. That one didn't even hold for 24 hours. If you look in my records, you will see that each time that the crown has been re-ordered/re-made it has been a two- or three-week time between the appointment for me to return to have it installed. Each of those times I've had to eat limited foods, eat on one side, chew in a special way and endure pain because of my tooth/area being sensitive.

The appointment I had two weeks ago I was even given Fixodent and told "use this just in case it comes off again, you can use this to put it back on". I was appalled at being given that information. That was unprofessional and made me feel less than as a patient because obviously it was expected that the crown wouldn't hold. Moreover, my tooth has been filed down each time so "the crown will fit properly". Obviously, the way the scan or whatever is being done for the lab to remake each crown isn't working.

Each time I've lost a crown I've called and left messages stating what happened and to try to make an appointment and no one EVER called me back. However, I've gotten four calls in the last three weeks about paying my

$110 ( or whatever it is) balance. In fact, I explained to the lady on the phone when she called me two weeks ago that she shouldn't be calling me asking me to pay for a service I hadn't even received yet. That conversation happened because she called for a payment two days before my appointment for my cleaning. Additionally, I stated that I have two insurances (my employer and my husbands) and asked had those companies been billed yet, in lieu of her asking me for a payment. Her answer was, "oh, I don't know".

I'm very unhappy with all of the services I've received EXCEPT for the cleanings. I will not return after today and I plan to complain to the BBB and other entities as appropriate because NO ONE has ever tried to effectively resolve the issue with ensuring that I get a crown that will be a proper fit and installed properly. I feel like a guinea pig and there is no regard for my feelings as a patient.

Regards,

LaTricia Morgan

[protected]

davis_latricia @ymail.com

Desired outcome: I should be given a proper apology and compensated for my mental distress, pain and agony. Additionally, I should be given a refund for whatever amount I (or my insurance) was charged for the crown(s).

Had an appointment for 8:15 in the morning. After an hour still didn't see the doctor ,so I decided to get my money back and leave

Had they given me a reason becouse the doctor was late in seeing me,probably I would have stayed.

I understand sometimes things don't go the right way,and maybe the doctor had some unforseen problems with a patient, but they need to inform the person who is waiting .

Treat your patients like persons not objects.
