Customer service
Mr. Jim Perkins, It is so sad to see this company in such disarray. I have been with Acme since 1977 as a customer and it has been depressing to see it dissolve steadily over the last 8-10 years. Upper management has taken this company apart piece by piece. They have encourage long time employees to retire/quit/leave, (so corporate can save money in my opinion). I knew almost all these long time employees by first and last name. I even had been invited to some of their homes, their children's weddings, and small gatherings. I have watched the 16 year grow into management 30+ years and quit because of the strain placed on them from corporate. Now we have employees that disrespect their customers by making faces at the slow moving customers while the slow moving customer back is turned. Just remember, CUSTOMERS ARE WATCHING EVEN WHEN YOU THINK WE ARE NOT! These less conscientiousness employees, including the "instore" management, have no respect for good customers. I have frequented other Acme's and seen similar actions, this is not just PAOLI. The least caring manager I have ever met in the Paoli Acme a few years back, was named Arthur. He was awful! I went to him for a certain woman's care product to see if Acme carried it. Arthur had no time to help me look for the item and turned me over to this miserable woman named Collet at the front desk. She was so disrespectful. She told me and I quote " I am the only person working this desk. I can not help you and nor do I have anyone to go look". I just don't know what has happened in America. These large conglomerates are just worthless! I am in the wrong for patronizing these stores and I am now finding little Stores to patronize. Why should I pay top dollar and be told "The store will be closing soon. Thank you for shopping ACME markets" This starts every 10 to 15 minutes (PA announcements) in the store at 9 pm. The store does not close until 10pm!?!? This is obviously encourage by corporate management. I keep silent in the store and watch this crap, I am disgusted with you ACME MARKETS!

Corporate has dismantled a family operated grocery store and made it into basically AMAZON or THE IRS (no human response organization).
YOU ARE REPLACEABLE ACME and you have been replaced!
Corporate has dismantled a family operated grocery store and made it into basically AMAZON or THE IRS (no human response organization). I know I am a PEON, but I will copy this and paste it everywhere I can so others will think the same way as I. Get rid if these non-caring operations and feed the little ones, this can make America great again.
if your living local then shop local.
Desired outcome: I don't want an apology!!!!!! I just want a corporation's to stop allowing CEO's to bleed a company dry. Their pay can support a ton of young family's and long standing employees survive with great benefits.
Vindictive, rude and disrespectful employee
I was rudely spoken to by an employee at the Newtown,Pa Acme Market. The employees name tag read Jessica. This employee was absolutely rude, vindictive and just so disrespectful towards me. I had asked where a couple of items were located throughout the store. The rude employee Jessica then proceeded to call me a blind idiot for not noticing the item on the shelf in front of me. This was a traumatic experience that I wish no one else has to experience at this location. If this is how are employees are taught to treat their customers then you have failed as a company for hiring ignorant employees. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I no longer feel safe entering Acme markets if you are going to hire mentally unstable people like her.
Desired outcome: Termination of disrespectful employee Jessica
Meatpacking does not wear his mask. It is around his neck.
There is a meatpacker who doesn't wear his mask. It is around his neck. I've seen management talking to him and nothing is said about him wearing it. My husband complained to an assistant store manager and he still isn't wearing it. I saw him today with no mask and touching his beard and mouth. I won't buy meat there when he's handling it. I was at customer service and he was there with no mask. When he left I asked the customer service representative why no mask. She said she brought it up to management.
I thought it's a company policy?
Desired outcome: The meatpacker needs to wear his mask

First and foremost to be waiting 10minutes while taking a bathroom break is one issue. Breaks are always allowed . Then upon her return. This manager as she calls herself said something about putting a 6 pack behind the black line if I had to get a bag from the car to return. Fine ..i complied but to proceed to be highly belligerent is unacceptable. I work in customer service and that kind of belligerence is unacceptable. Customer service is the primary focus and then to proceed to mutter under her breath is even more unacceptable the female manager was at the locher department on december 10th at 1055am to 11am I want her advised and spoken to. Her skills as a manager and with customer service is completely lacking. Never have i experienced such belligerence when all i did was comply . She would not explain the procedure appropriately but I complied . Completley incompetent and angry and inept of skills. Suspend her

free turkey/justforu/management at store
We signed up for the free turkey for the Acme store in Smyrna, DE thru the Justforu program. We spend hundreds of dollars at this acme each month. We were elegible for our turkey as of today, 11/14/2021, but were charged full price for our turkey at check out. I went to customer service and Carrie, who is usuall very helpful, said you have to call the number on the bottom of the receipt. Another manager, Cindi, told me Carrie should have been able to resolve the problem but I did not go back to argue with her. I am very unhappy, there was another coupon I clipped for poise pads - the item rung up as a different version of the pad and I did not get the discount for that product either. I am VERY unhappy about this little ordeal - we will NOT be spending our money in your Smyrna Acme store any more. There are other stores that quite frankly are less expensive, just a bit further away. Well worth the drive to me at this point. My name is Deb Nadel, my phone # I use for the justforu coupons is [protected]. I would like the full price of my turkey refunded to me as soon as possible by mail as I do not intend to return to the store. I can email a copy of our receipt from today if you need it. My cell phone number is [protected]. Please us this number to contact me at your earliest convenience.
Purchase of acme brand edamame
I purchased acme brand edamame and was eating it the other night. As I was eating the edamame I found a full sized maggot inside of the edamame that was inside of my mouth! I became extremely sick from this and I am completely disgusted with the fact that I had had a full maggot inside of my mouth.
Desired outcome: Monetary compensation for how sick I got and how disgusted I am

Yesterday I went to my neighborhood Acme located at I purchased fall decorations for a city event, @ mums, 6pumkins, and 2 cornstalks. I asked the employee that was outside near the plants the price of the corn stalks because there was no sign present, he went inside and came back with a price 7$ each. I took the items into the store and paid for each...

I really feel I need to say something about the checkout cashier service as this is a real problem and I am sorry but the quality of some of the cashiers is less than poor. I was shopping in our local store in Newtown PA after 8:30 pm on 9/18/21. There was only 1 register open and I had to go and find someone to help because they were talking. He seemed annoyed to check me out because I interrupted their conversation. Well anyway, I am handicapped and struggle with walking. I do not use a scooter as using a cart works well for me and I get a little exercise and that is why I go later to do my shopping as I am not rushed by other customers. My question is, why do clerks not do any of the bagging anymore? This cashier piled everything up on the belt for me to bag except for 2 bags which he did (bread and eggs) because I was paying for my order at that time and he watched me while I was bagging the entire time and his face definitely showed annoyance. Isn't this their job and what you are paying them for? Don't get me wrong, but there was no one behind me that we needed to rush and I had too many items to do a self checkout. This really bothered me as there are other cashiers that do the same thing and while we are bagging, they are talking to the cashier next to them. There are a few cashiers I come across that will bag or at least help and I do THANK them for their help. Some cashiers also need to learn to bag. You don't put cleaning items with meat! I sometimes catch them and ask them to put in a separate bag. I spend a lot of money in this store and find the lack of service is making me go to the Giant down the street from me. Sure it may be a few miles more away fro me but it will be well worth it because the cashiers there are very good and take pride in their work!
Desired outcome: Retraining
Hot foods
I have not shopped at Acme for quite a while. I live much closer to ShopRite. I live in Williamstown NJ. I decided to travel to the Acme in Sewell for a fried chicken family meal. It's been a while since I have had one but it was always worth the trip. I went to the store about 5:45 pm on Thursday 8/26/21. I figured the chicken and potatoe wedges would be nice and fresh being it was around dinner time. Boy was I wrong. I got 4 thighs and 4 drums which is what I wanted but it was really dry and the potato wedges were hard and dry. I paid extra so I could have the wedges and they were not even edible. The man behind the counter that waited on me was very miserable, like I was bothering him. We ate a few pieces of the chicken and the Hawaiian rolls and threw the rest out. What a waste of $13.00. Also when I walked into the store, it smelled like a dumpster. It smelled disgusting. This was always one of the nicest stores around. Sorry to say I will not be going back.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement
Miss Liz who works in the meat department in Ventnor NJ
Today on August 1, 2021 I encountered Miss. Liz in the meat department. Miss. Liz works in the store in Ventnor City, New Jersey. I couldn't find some soup stock as i wanted to make some soup for a senior parent. I aske Miss. Liz if she worked there and she showed her coat (I didn't assume she worked there she could have been restocking for a vendor) and stated doesn't it look like I work here. Miss. Liz was so rude, nasty and abrupt and basically a bully. When I confronted her and asked why she was speaking to me that way she got nastier.
I left and went to the frozen food section to continue with my shopping and I was approached by a very friendly and helpful Acme worker named Ruth Anne. Ruth Anne asked if i needed anything and after some thought I requested the manager. Chris the manager came and I told him the story and wanted to show him the woman later identified as Miss. Liz. Miss Liz was awful and even after apologizing continued to say nasty things under her breath. I told Chris that Miss Liz needs better training or to be termed. No customer needs to be treated so rudely. Whatever is going on in her personal life doesn't give Miss. Liz the right to be mean to customers. We all have issues at home we are dealing with don't bring it into the workplace.
Desired outcome: That Miss Liz get training on being nicer to customers or that she be terminated after a good 6 month probation.

Hello,
I want to make it noted that I drove all the way to the Acme store on Kirkwood highway which closes at 11 PM. I got there at 10:25 needing to exchange two items and I could not do that because there was no management in the store. The 2 young male employees that were just standing there by the self checkout counters said Customer service closed at 9 PM and there was no manager in the store because they left at 10 PM even though the store is open till 11 PM.
So I wasted my time and my gas ($2.89 a gal) to go to the store and NOT resolve my issue. Now I need to go back another day, waste more gas and time to resolve this. This is very very disturbing and disappointing that a customer cannot have a problem resolved up to the closing of a store.

Having products that go on sale and never have it in stock.
Store # 779 never has snapple when they go sale. Other acme stores have a skid of the snapple. This is all the time.
Desired outcome: Correct the problem. Store always says it the supplier.

I've been shopping at Acme Fresh Markets for over 30 years and have spent a bulk amount of my life's worth on their products and services. Over the years I have come to rely on Acme to fill my household's needs. My entire life, I've lived in a residential community where there's laundry facilities on site but the machines operate off coins, specifically...
Read full complaintPaper bag
I forgot to bring all but one of my reusable bags to our Acme store and had to buy one paper bag. I have no problem with that. However, I was charged 5 cents for a bag with no handles and very thin paper.
The non-plastic bag law just went into effect. If they were consumer friendly and community minded, Acme would allow their clients some latitude for a week or two. It would not cost them that much. But no, they buy bags that probably cost $0.005/bag and up the price 10 fold. Additionally, their bags are ready to rip and difficult to carry because they have no handles.
Lack of service
In this day and age!
Over a month ago I requested a quote from a local jewson's. The kitchen person was polite and responded quickly to my telephone enquiry. Claimed they could easily meet my brief. However, once visiting my home and seeing me (i'm of indian ethnicity) everything went badly from that point onwards and they did everything possible to put me off doing business with them. The quote took over a month to return, the specs were all wrong (after repeated requests, to which my specs never changed once), I was ignored and then pretty much called a liar when challenged them. Although i'm pretty thick skinned, I found the whole experience distressing, especially because this person came into my home and myself and my family was pretty much being told, we don't want your business
Having complained to the store and then escalated, the investigation they conducted appears to be little more than asking the staff member concerned if they feel he acted appropriately and then closing the complaint without offering any evidence.
I would really appreciate it if anyone else has received this type of service if they could let me know or publishes the issue to see if this is isolated or an ongoing incident. You might not have realised what was the underlying reason behind your negative experience!
