I applied for a cheque account online. Submitted the FICA documents to [email protected] on the 1st of October 2019. I went to collect my card on the 7th December 2019 at the fourways mall branch, where they confirmed my account was active and i can start using is immediately. My employer deposited money in tho that account on the 17th December 2019, to my surprise...i cannot withdraw or perform any transaction from that account. I called the Absa General inquiries and i was assisted by Morena Moloi, who confirmed that there's a FICA hold on my account. i also went to the fourways branch and i was assisted by Louise, who confirmed the FICA hold aswell. This is totally unacceptable, as i believe that FICA was suppose to be verified in October already. I urgently need to access my money and it looks like no one is willing to assist at ABSA. I am so disappointing by the service I received. I just want my money and close this account immediately. I want nothing to do with ABSA anymore
