I guess you get what you buy. I opened an account with WoodForest for the convenience of being inside Walmart.
Whilst the branch staff are cordial, the bank itself is designed to cater for lower end market of depositors.
Their phone-in customer service reps are absolutely horrendous and when you ask to be directed to a survey they disconnect the call.
Unlike other banks who alert you before dishonoring a payment, Woodforest will call you after the fact as if to gloat. When you look at your account there is more than sufficient funds.
Makes no sense why they call you in the first place when they can see funds available in the account. Their eagerness to charge the rejected transaction fees is overwhelmingly more important to them than retaining you as a customer.
Totally different experience than Chase bank and I have no idea why I keep this account.
Recommendation: Be cautious with this bank.
I would like to sincerely applaud and appreciate the professionalism with which WoodForest National Bank responded to my situation. It was completely unexpected and they exceeded all my expectations.
With great joy I write to say that this has been my bank of choice and I will continue to be a customer of WoodForest bank for their convenience and responsiveness. The bank branches offer unmatched service. Thank you.
