Whirlpool Gold series oven

Replaced non self cleaning oven with this one that "claims" to be self cleaning. Worst purchase ever. I have tried every suggestion given. This oven is harder to clean than the one I replaced. The bottom tray absorbs spills and will not come clean. I am very picky about cleaning and have never let it get bad. I had a overflow and it is impossible to clean. I wish I had kept my old oven and not spent hundreds of dollars on junk.

Desired outcome: Replacement. If not the whole oven then the bottom

Whirlpool Refrigerator

Purchased Model wr555sihz on 1/3/22. On 4/7/22 the freezer was warm and by morning of 4/9/22 fridge was warm. We had the Lowes protection plan for 3 years and I called them. They referred me to call Whirlpool since they have a 1 year warranty. Called them on 4/9 and they scheduled a technician to come out on 4/12. Technician came and said that I need a new compressor, coupler and drier. He also stated that these parts were on a backorder. Called Whirlpool on 4/13 and they verified that it was on backorder and that after 21 days a representative would contact me if not resolved. Called today 4/22/22 to see if there was an update. Rep said part still not in and my 21 days started at 4/13 when part was ordered. Really upset that they can't give me a straight answer and not fully replace an obviously defective fridge. Also I'm sure with logistics they know when/where my parts will be in.

Desired outcome: Replacement with a new fridge.

Hi Mr Hirsch.

All manufacturers have had difficulties supplying parts. Whirlpool is no different.

Make sure to supply enough breathing room around the fridge. Without such, the result is exactly as you've related.

Whirlpool Washer machine.

I purchased a whirlpool washer model WTW5057LWO Serial CB0505559 from lowes Baton Rouge on 2/27/22. the washer started making a horrible sound from

the bottom during the wash and rinse cycle then stop working on 3/29. The 30 days to take it back to the store was up. We did purchase the extra warranty on it so we called for service. The service man in my area came out to look at it 3/4/22 and diagnosed it needed a mother board and a lid lock those parts were ordered 3/12/22. I dnt understand how those part can cause a noise from the bottom of the machine. The service man had fell ill he had a pace maker installed since ordering the parts and cant come service my unit for another couple weeks from what we were told, to see if that even fixes the problem, ive been without a washer long enough Please help Theres isnt a reason I should have to keep waiting for this to be resolved.

Whirlpool Kitchenaid (whirlpool) dishwasher

I have a relatively new KitchenAid (made by Whirlpool) dishwasher which has not been functioning properly since December 2021. The first issue was a horrid stench coming from inside the dishwasher and permeating into my plastic containers, etc. After much back and forth with multiple visits by a technician and having the wrong part ordered, the sump was ultimately replaced. This lessened the odor, however the odor was starting to "rebuild." I once again scheduled a warranty repair and while waiting for this repair, the dishwasher started to beep constantly, and the cancel button did not cancel out the cycle. The technician came and flipped the breaker off and on which reset the control panel for one day after which the same issue continued. The dishwasher will not run a clean cycle anymore however when the door of the dishwasher is closed, the dishwasher makes a constant grinding noise as if it is trying to run. When the door is opened, the noise stops. The control panel is on backorder and after speaking with Whirlpool again today, they are going to try to escalate the part as it is considered a "safety issue" since the dishwasher runs on its own. I have requested multiple times for them to replace this dishwasher however they are unwilling to do so. I have now had an essentially unusable dishwasher for the past 4 months along with a safety issue which concerns me as it is very easy to push the door when walking by the dishwasher and I have children in my home who frequently do so. They have advised me to unplug the dishwasher which I cannot do as there is no way I can pull it out or to turn off the breaker which I also cannot do as other things are on the same circuit. I have read of this brand of dishwasher starting fires and am concerned that something could happen when I am not home or am asleep.

Desired outcome: Replacement of dishwasher or refund so I can buy one that works consistently

Whirlpool American Standard Americast Sink

I purchased an American Standard Americast sink many years ago. It was supposed to have a lifetime warranty. It has started to rust and peel and now has very sharp edges, which is very dangerous. From complaints I have been seeing, this apparently is a common problem with this sink. I have been communicating with this company for several years, sending emails and photos. I finally got someone to respond with an answer - they will send me $100, which doesn't even begin to cover a replacement sink.

Whirlpool Dishwasher

Purchased 8/2021 leaked first month, had vent repaired twice (under warranty) still leaks and dishes won’t dry… Now they say they can only warranty parts and they don’t have a technician in my area… Ridiculous and why have a disease tic you have to dry dishes and my kitchen floor is getting ruined 🤬 Purchased at Home Depot - Hermitage, PA because it’s the only one they had in stock model #WDF520PADM 9 serial #FA2945982 had fry’s appliance (Greenville PA) out Oct 2021 and February 2022 replaced vent (still not fixed)

Desired outcome: Different dishwashers believe it’s a lemon

Hopefully, I can help.

In the Whirlpool family of dishwashers, anything below the 540 model is considered builders grade. The 520 fits in this category. It's a basic level dishwasher designed for the consumer who wishes to pay less for a dishwasher and is willing to accept a lower degree of performance and longevity.

It's within the first year so, as long as an authorized service center can detect a non-functioning part, the cost of parts and labor should be covered. As far as the unit leaking, make sure you can adequately show it as such. A slight amount of sweat is not the same. The inherent steam that resides in any dishwasher will provide a slight amount of moisture from the vent. This doesn't mean the vent or the dishwasher is defective.

Not all items within a dishwasher dry to the same degree. For example, plastics are something most dishwashers will not completely dry; this shouldn't make one assume the dishwasher is not working properly. To find a dishwasher that dries to a greater degree, you might consider the upper 700 series models of Whirlpool or even the Maytag and Kitchenaid dishwashers. These units come with a stainless tub and will generally dry to a higher degree; this performance comes with a cost however. Expect to pay twice the price to that of a more entry level 520 Whirlpool model.

Whirlpool Policy of not delivering partial orders of appliances

Mid-February 2021 I ordered and paid for the following Whirlpool/KitchenAid appliances:

KFID500ESS, KMHP519ESS, KUID308HPS, KDTM604KPS, KODE500ESS, KRMF706ESS, KVIB606DSS, KOWT100ESS, KCGS956ESS

In addition to loving the look and reputation, there was also an up to $1,700.00 rebate offered.

The order was really 2 orders as I added 3 of the appliances a day or so later in order to get the full $1,700.00 rebate.

The originally anticipated delivery dates were early April 2021. That was changed to May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, and then January 2022.

January turned into February, then March, and finally April again with me calling and pleading, begging, offering the suggestion to send the appliances they had, etc.

I was informed and couldn't believe my ears that Whirlpool has a policy of not separating orders that had been in place for some time.

Since I had 2 orders, the second order did come in September of 2021, but they were appliances that were not essential to our home renovation.

I called, emailed, pleaded, threatened, etc. to no avail.

Finally, I canceled the order for 2 of the appliances that were not available and which would call Whirlpool's policymaking them to send me what they stated that they had. Indeed I received the partial order in March of 2022 which is missing the refrigerator and dishwasher.

Desired outcome: Honor the rebate in full.Provide the refrigerator and dishwasher at the price originally paid.

Whirlpool Whirlpool Refrigerator WRT518SZFM00

I got it for extra storage of for frozen foods in the garage.

But in the cold, the freezer warms and melts ice cream and thaws frozen meat.

It's useless, even when I turn the freezer up all the way.

This was not advertised as a consequence of buying this refrigerator.

Whirlpool Microwave 2019 lowes

Went to reheat a small desert and heard whizzing sound ran back to find inside micro had flames opened door and was able to blow out seems the power was triggering it. Fire came from plastic center under turntable
Recall of many years ago doesnt cover this/our model So maybe it needs be expanded?--this is a relatively new Microwave should not have to replace:(

This is EXACT issue as previous recall

I'd love to assist.

You haven't listed the exact model of the microwave so that limits to what specifics I might be able to address.

As you suggest, it may have had something to do with a power surge. Because power fluctuations are not something manufacturers can control, it's possible that this would not be something that would be covered even under manufacturer guidelines. Whereas the unit was purchased in 2019, it wouldn't also fall under the regular manufacturer warranty timeframe.

Some retailers offer additional service packages that can cover such an issue. Contact them to find out.

Even if you were to replace the unit with the exact same model, in order to simplify the installation, there are no known problems with any current units. You might try plugging it in with a power regulator just to help protect the unit in the future.

Whirlpool AquaLift Technology

You’re asking me to provide as much information as possible?… ….? At the moment I’m exhausted and disgusted because of the false advertising of this product (my new gas range). A quick lift does NOTHING and I mean NOTHING! I’ve run the process three times in the last couple of hours and the bottom of the oven is still not clean. I can only mention the false advertising because this new technology doesn’t even clean the walls or the back of the oven. Here I am, new house, house of my dreams and I foolishly purchased an entire suite of Whirlpool products (washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave). I will be returning as many of them as I possibly can mainly because I am so disappointed with your marketing.

I think I may be able to help.

Whirlpool produces a fantastic line of appliances. You haven't listed the actual model you own, so I'm unable to comment on it specifically. What I can do is suggest you're confusing AquaLift with self cleaning. Auqualift is a light, soft cleaning to take place between heavier cleaning. Simple.

Hopefully that will make your use much more pleasant.

Whirlpool Whirlpool sidekick SS refrigerator

Purchased Whirlpool SS sidekick refrigerator/freezer 2/29/2016. Signed up for additional 5yr warranty at Lowes.

7\27\18 Thermistor on frig stopped working. Which means it was no longer able to go into defrost mode, causing ice to form. It was replaced.

Now fast forward 6 yrs. 3/8/2022 Refrigerant has leaked out of frig. This has been confirmed by local appliance tech, and a certified Whirlpool tech.

The tech did state that the tubing for the refrigerant is too thin. He also said that it was nothing we had done.

Called customer service. Nothing they can do about it.

It will cost $800 to repair this lemon. I'm extremely disappointed in this product. A high end appliance that doesn't last more than six years!

Very sorry to hear of your frustrations.

Sidekicks are very well reviewed products. They're very unique in design and achieve five star reviews by many consumers.

HFC-134a is the common form of refrigerant used today and the copper tubing used within the sealed system is not just acceptable, but superior to any regulations.

Having your unit serviced should give you many more years of enjoyment.

Whirlpool top- mount refrigerator #wrt311fzd

Refrigerator hums loudly with a rattle consistently and when shuts down as it reaches temp. sounds like a fan loose. This is the loudest fridge we have ever had! The last one was roper and very quiet until it went out. We purchased this fridge. in12/30/2021 @ Menards in Anderson In. Thought all noise would subside after running for a while.

Desired outcome: Would like to find out if this is a common problem with these refrigerators. Would like to return to store for another refrigerator. Please refund. I would like response as soon as possible.

Whirlpool Aqualift Oven Cleaner

This is the WORST oven cleaning system I have ever dealt with. Unfortunately I had no idea this was the only way to clean this oven when I bought it. I am on my hands and knees scrubbing this useless oven and it still won't clean. How I miss the old days when I could push a "clean" button on the oven, walk away and 3-4 hours later it was all clean. I just bought this complete Kitchen Aide set for our home and love the rest of the appliances. I really wish I could exchange this for a regular cleaning oven. We are also general contractors and will steer clients from this oven. Do not buy this oven!

Whirlpool Dishwasher

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in October, 2019, and it has created endless problems since the day of installation. The machine episodically leaks copious amounts of water, flooding my kitchen floor and surrounding area. Because this is an intermittent problem (around 1x per week), it appears to be difficult to diagnose and repair. Today marked the eighth service call on the dishwasher, and the leaking continues. Fortunately, a service technician was able to witness the flooding, but no repair has been accomplished. I have reached out to Whirlpool customer service, and wrote an email to the Director of Consumer Relations, as well as the CEO of Whirlpool, neither of whom had the courtesy of responding. Whirlpool clearly has no interest in standing behind its product, nor providing any semblance of appropriate customer service.

Desired outcome: I believe that a new dishwasher at Whirlpool’s expense is justified at this time.

Whirlpool Dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, washing machine, dryer

Specifically in this case I am talking about my dishwasher. It does not clean the dishes. I put a load of dishes in and selected heavy wash after running the one load of dishes twice the dishes are still dirty. The racks are flimsy and I have had to replace the rack and its mechanisms for x. More than once a year. The quality of this dishwasher doesn't exist. The dishes are rarely dry after washing and very frequently dirty. This particular instance that I am speaking of I had more than 40 plates serving vessels and utensils that needed washing. It was going to require at least three or four loads to get it all done. I haven't gotten past the first load yet because after going through two separate washing the dishes are still dirty. The quality of all five of my Whirlpool appliances is nonexistent. I do not even understand how you can make such poor quality appliances. I seriously doubt that any Whirlpool executive has Whirlpool appliances in their home. I won't be buying them again. Shame on you for filling up the landfills with your crappy appliances because they don't last and they don't do their job.

I'm sorry it took a little while to find the source of your aggravation and comments. Hopefully, I can actually assist.

First, your china looks wonderful. Let see what I can do for the operation of your unit.

Will you kindly provide me the model number for your unit? It should be on the side of or just inside of the dishwasher door.

When was this unit purchased? How frequently do you run a load of dishes? As a matter of habit, do you pre-rinse your dishes? Do you have a water softener within your home?

With that information, let see if I can't help.

Thank you for your response. As a matter of habit I use the dishwasher three to four times a week. I usually try to scrape dishes not pre rinse My husband will pre rinse, which in my view you might as well just wash the dishes. We have well water which is treated with a salt water softening system. Our water is excellent quality. But not cleaning the dishes is only one of several issues with this dishwasher. At times the dishwasher will run for 20 to 30 minutes and then just stop the lights go out everything has stopped. At times when I'm trying to turn on the dishwasher nothing happens no lights come on no nothing. I messed around with it for awhile walk away come back and I can get it to come on. But you want to talk about frustrating. And finally we have had to replace the mechanism of the top rack four times in four years. $25 a pop. Everything is so flimsy.

Apologies for taking so long to respond.

The 750 is a decent model.

It's important you break your husband of the habit. Detergents have changed over the years. If you don't provide enough grease in the tub, the detergent will never activate. It's potentially part of your problem. You'd also find using a good rinse aid could help. I'd suggest trying Finish branded tablets.

Finally, make sure you thoroughly clean the filter area.

Following those few suggestions, I'd bet you'll have favorable results.

Description of Complaint:

Whirlpool Residential Refrigerator in my 2021 Jayco Pinnacle 36KPTS 5th Wheel Camper TIMELINE OF REPAIRS (Or Lack of).

04/2021 - Ice maker not working - turns out fridge was not cooling

04/2021 - initial tech comes out to check fridge

04/2021 - parts ordered and sealed system tech has to come out to determine issue

06/2021 - Tech comes out, installs dye dryer, finds issue, installs new condenser

12/7/2021 - job created Fridge is not cooling again - EVERYTHING in fridge is bad and needs thrown away

12/8/2021 - first appointment

12/8/2021 need to order dye dryer - schedule appt for 12/29

12/28/2021 - appt cancelled (no call, no communication, no show) - Called S&S no answer - Called Whirlpool

1/21/2022 - new appt made for 1/26

1/25/2022 - appt moved to 1/27

1/27/2022 appt - dye dryer was already installed by previous service tech (last year) when compressor failed the first time - had to order new parts - scheduled new appt for 2/10/2022

2/9/2022 - appt cancelled (no call, no communication, no show) - Called S&S no answer - Called Whirlpool

2/22/2022 - called whirlpool again... no communication, no calls, no show. Whirlpool states 2 parts arrived waiting on one with NO TIMELINE of when it will be fixed.

We are LIVING in our camper for the winter months. We have been without a working refrigerator since 12/2021. That is 3 MONTHS. It is absolutely unacceptable that they are building and selling new refrigerators but tell us there is NOTHING they can do to speed up our repairs. We had no choice but to purchase a refrigerator. W can't leave a non working fridge in the driveway and have no space inside for a second full size fridge. We have called whirlpool and the Service Company Whirlpool sent to us (S&S Appliance) MANY TIMES. We have been told there is nothing they can do. There is no supervisor or manager to speak to and there is NO compensation that can be given. I asked for a corporate contact and they told us they did not have one. The employees are rude and uncaring about the company name that they work for. I understand supply chain problems but to still build and sell new means that you CAN fix current production. I WANT

RESOLUTION NOW!

Caution!

It's sad when a Quality company drops to an unreliable level, BUT that is what has occurred to our US-based legacy company!

Over the past five years, we have had to purchase TWO Whirlpool washers!

Sad but the last Kenmore/Sears brands lasted over ten years before having problems!

In searching for the replacements we found that the Whirlpool washers and other products were about 1/3 more expensive than competitors, and Whirlpool does not provide coupons or compensation for poor product quality!

Consumer Reports confirms this drop in Quality in their reviews!

Sorry, Whirlpool... But I will NOT be falling for your "perceived quality" again!

With a great deal of background within the industry, I can assure you Whirlpool is a good company with decent quality products. They produce both upper end and lower end, builders' quality products. It is absolutely true that, when purchasing any lower end level products, overall, you will lose the benefit of longer lasting products. That becomes the trade-off for lower pricing.

From a price standpoint, Whirlpool stays competitively priced to that of its competition. In fact, some features make Whirlpool very unique to other units out there.

Most Whirlpool products come with an industry standard one year-limited warranty. However, they work with many of their retail partners to offer additional warranty coverage that lasts five, ten or more years to provide worry-free performance of your new Whirlpool family product.

I also find this response to be so laughable in a really sad way. So another words give you more money and you can get a couple of more years out of your product by a more extended warranty and you can get a few more years out of a product that should last many years. What a load of crap. Glad to know this companies view on their products and their quality and their policies. I won't be buying whirlpool and I will tell the world and I got a pretty big mouth. It really is nice to hear from you again. It would appear I've got a so-called fan, so to speak.

I'm sure that under normal circumstances you're very pleasant to be around.

May I ask if you've had an issue with one of your appliances? I'd like to assist where I can.

If you do have issues with your spelling and grammer, you might request the help of a friend. I have corrections I need to make all the time; it might help if you can enlist someone's help, however, to catch such mistakes.

Yeah, why should I expect a washer that cost only $800 to last more than 8 months? (Actual experience.) Why should I expect Whirlpool to have even halfway decent service for the $800 washer that failed under warranty? Why should I expect to ever actually receive the replacement product I was promised? Why shouldn't I be pleased by the shills who run around on social media and sites like this talking about how good their products are and how much they care? Take a hike "Mr. Helpful", get a decent job and stop prostituting yourself for Whirlpool.

By the way, before you respond with an ineffective and nonsensical reply about how much you care and want to resolve my problem, after literally hours on hold on the phone and being lied too, my problem was solved almost immediately by going to the BBB and the MI Attorney General. In the end it turned out Whirlpool did me a huge favor by not delivering on the promised replacement, because after receiving a full refund instead, I am now the proud owner of a Speed Queen. It is a shame how Whirlpool has destroyed its name along with once great names like Maytag.

Whirlpool Unable to get warranty service in Hamilton Ontario

I have a Maytag refrigerator that I purchased from Bestbuy in June of 2021. I called Whirlpool customer service Jan 29 to set up a service call for my refrigerator under warranty because the online tool was not working. I was told that there were no warranty service people in Hamilton (due to Covid) and that the supervisor Kelly would escalate and have someone call me back. I called back the following week and spoke to another superviser on Feb 7 and was told they were still looking into it and someone would get back to me. I called back on Feb 15 because nobody had called me back and was told the process had changed on Feb 1 and that I would have to wait 5 days for them to find someone that would service my refrigerator. That should have been done from the get go. I asked to escalate due to me having called in on the 7 and the 5 days should have started from then but was told no it would start Feb 15. This is terrible customer service. I have not had the level of communication that should happen during a good customer experience and I am not getting anywhere. They have told me I should have just had it repaired and submitted for reimbursement. I live in a major Canadian City, Hamilton, I should not have to do this. I have asked to speak to someone senior at Whirlpool and was told that is not possible. Nice job hiding executives... how about you step up and give me a call to discuss your lack of good customer experience. I will never buy a whirlpool product again.

Desired outcome: I would like to speak to an executive and have my appliance repaired under Warranty by the end of this week (Feb 18) I can be reached by email to set up a time at [protected]@gmail.com
