In May 2025, unauthorized withdrawals were made from my checking account ending in 9239 by Check Mart of Florida, Inc.:
• On May 8, 2025, I made an early payment of $335 to Check Mart.
• On May 26, 2025, Check Mart withdrew $268.75 without authorization, causing my account to overdraft.
• On June 6, 2025, Check Mart withdrew $268.69 using a different merchant name, again without my authorization.
Wells Fargo credited $537.50 to my savings account on September 4, 2025, even though the issue was with my checking account, which is what my complaint was about. They even charged $5 to that savings account, which I do not use.
Despite Wells Fargo confirming in writing that these withdrawals were not authorized by me, they closed my checking account without resolving the issue. I also filed a complaint online on September 6, 2025, but never received a response, and my dispute was closed without resolution. As a result, a negative balance of $609 remains on my credit report.
Because of their mishandling, I was unable to access my funds, overdue on bills, and forced to open new accounts elsewhere, causing significant stress and financial hardship.
I am seeking:
1. Reopening of my checking account.
2. Correction of all accounting errors so my May 8 payment and subsequent transactions are properly reflected.
3. Removal of negative reporting from all credit bureaus.
4. Written confirmation of these corrections.
5. Acknowledgment of the total mishandled funds, including unauthorized withdrawals, overdraft fees, and other related charges approximately $1,246.44.
Claimed loss: $1,246.44
Desired outcome: $2,500
