Walgreens time wasted

I have used Walgreens pharmacies for several years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I call in my prescriptions and allow time for them to be filled. Much of the time, as I enter the drive-thru, a person has chosen to delay others from picking up their items by presenting the assistant with their prescription as they drive up. As cars line up behind me, I'm having to wait 15 to 20 min. One of the Walgreens here in Tulsa asks persons presenting prescriptions to drive on thru - park - and come back thru the line in 10 min. I would think this would be a good policy for all Walgreens. Thanks for taking care of this matter.
Mary

I have this same situation at my Walgreens. People drive up, present their prescriptions and wait. I believe the pharmacist should ask them to drive around and give them 10 minutes at least. It's really inconsiderate that some people think they are the only one waiting. Maybe post a sign that the wait time will be... whatever. Thanks.

Walgreens does an excellent job and I'm usually there every week for something, but as they do many prescriptions, there should be a way to handle some of these customers.
Thanks.

Walgreens website access

I tried to enter the sweepstakes from my receipt and wanted to complete a survey about my experience (prices weren't correct w/Walgreens weekly ad). I tried walgreensfeedback and www.walgreensfeedback but received an error that my browser couldn't open the site because of a server error. When I just ran a websearch for the correct address and found this website. I wanted to add my problem to this site so people could see that they may not be alone when they have the same (or similar) issues.

I had three problems with my receipt earlier tonight. I will have to go back into town soon to have everything resolved and get my money back. Walgreen's items aren't the correct price at the register and sometimes, the weekly ad, the price listed on the shelves and the price that is charged at the register all differ. So, you need to keep the ad with you at the store while you shop and watch closely when everything is ringing up.

I want to remind people to remember that there is a difference between sale items and the ad's coupons. Make sure the clerk uses the coupons that are in the weekly ad. There's a big difference in price without their little coupon. I hope this message helps people save money... nickles & dimes, ya know?

What's wrong with David. I guess David or John or whatever his name is, is frustrated at the world. The only way to resolve this issue is to contact his son afzal007@aol.com. Very disappointed with your picture Kiosks since their upgrade. The 4x6 selection automatically crops some of my pictures without me choosing to crop and you only have a choice of glossy. The 4x5.3 only offers matted and no glossy and will also crop automatically some pictures, but less like with the 4x6. Automatic cropping is absolutely ridiculous. In the past, i've enjoyed the usage of the Walgreen picture Kiosks with none of these issues. The staff was as helpful as possible, it is the Kiosk that is the problem. If no resolution will be done, I will not be using Walgreen's for my picture processing.

I was in Walgreens about 3-4 weeks ago and bought a lot of items that got bucks to use the next time I was in. I came in about 2 weeks ago and was told I could not use them because I was using a simple coupon in the flyer for one item that saved 50cents. Instead of THINKING and putting that down and just buying the others I let him not take the others. Soon as I got home I could not find my receipt coupons to use the next time I went. It is the 28th now and they expire on the 29th. if I can;'t bring in my times on the receipt and just get the money back I will not go to that Walgreens again. it is very c, lose to me and I have used it regularly.
I went to a CVS store a couple of times and once when I bought stuff they told me, break it in half and I can use half the coupons I earned right then. How different from Walgreens. You need to get rid of that manager at the Tarpon Springs store on Altr 19( Pinellas Ave.) as he will make people too angry to go there again. Please let me know what I should do on the lost coupons which I suspect I left at the store, but when I called I am sure they were thrown away or grabbed by someone, maybe even the manager.( a man from India).

Walgreens cleaning the restrooms

Why is it the Beauty Advisors job to clean both the men and the women restrooms? I think that is unfair, and very nasty to have to do that, Walgreens can afford to hire a service to do the job.

Walgreens medical clinic

We took our daughter to their clinic for a strep test because it was after our pediatricians office hours and the hospital said it would take several hours before they could get to her. We got in after completing their registration log in and the Nurse Practitioner did the quick swab test which was negative. He said he would send the other sample in for the culture test which is more accurate and would call us back if it was positive in three days. We never heard from him and assumed she did not have strep. A few weeks later she came down with terrible headachs and a severe rash. We took her to our pediatricians office and they diagnosed possible Rumatic Fever which is a result of an untreated strep infection. We called Walgreens back and found out they never sent in for the culture. After several doctors and a heart specialist she does not appear to have severe long lasting problems of full blown rumatic fever. Our pediatrition and the hospital said it is routine to get the culture because everyone reacts differently to strep. The only advantage to the swab test is if positive you can start antibiotics right away. We will never use Walgreens again for anything. We complained to the corporate office and they did nothing. They appear to be trying to make a quick buck on questionable medical practices.

I have an incident in Milwaukee WI. I was misdiagnosed by a nurse practitioner who never even listened to my symptoms. She basically told me I had a chest cold, even though I could hardly swallow, talk or move my neck and head. I had a low grade fever (100) and was sent home with an over priced inhaler (was not even coughing) and an expectorant. After 2 days, I was even worse! I ended up at an urgent care clinic connected to a hospital. The doctor immediately saw that I had strep throat. Unfortunately, because the proper diagnosis was delayed, the strep throat manifested into an upper respiratory infection and sinus infection. Two separate prescriptions of antibiotics were required. Also, they never properly billed my insurance, was never sent a bill, and was put into collections (for 75.00) 6 months after the ordeal. The misdiagnosis ended up costing me about 300.00 total.
I will NEVER EVER go to a Walgreen's "Take Care" clinic again - and direct others never to go there.

I was put on hold constantly with only one human response to my call to hold and she would check to see if the medication was available...

Walgreens survey

I shopped at walgreens yesterday 10/06/09 my reciept and the clerk both said to go online to complete survey and enter their $3000.00 sweepstakes. I did go to their website just to find out that the survey was no longer available. Just what is it you are trying to do Walgreens.

Went onto your website to enter the $3, 000 cash survey your receipt has listed and couldn't find anywhere to fill in this survey.

Please don't put it on your receipts if you're not going to have it available.

Otherwise, your store has a lot of good buys and nice gifts.

Thank You.

First of all, your blatant anti-Semitic comment should be removed from this site! The contest is monthly, so if you see that it ended on June 29th, it was because it was the end of the month. These contests are national...so you may not here of the winner...unless they decide to post them, they could be all over the US. My local Walgreen's store is wonderful, and so is the staff...who help me tremendously since I shop for a local foodbank and buy large quantities. Your not entitled to win, your not entitled to anything free..and to accuse a company without total knowledge or information shows how uneducated and unhappy you are!

If you look at the bottom of the survey when you first click onto the survey website you will see two places to click...one is for the rules of the sweepstakes, the other is for the winners list. This is not a scam. Walgreens happens to be a Prestigious company.

I don't know where you people are from but I'm from planet earth and I can tell you that some of the comments I have read here are way out there. It's just ridicuous that you would think a company like Walgreen's would even attempt to perpetrate a scam of this sort.

All of you just made yourselves look like total embeciles...I am too through.

I just typed 'survey' into the search bar at the top and thankfully that took me right to it, but I agree, there ought to be a specific url for the survey, like at mcdvoice.com where you enter the code on the receipt to fill out a survey and receive a confirmation code, which allows you to claim the free item (either a free sm fry or hashbrown with purchase of any sandwich, or sometimes it's BOGO any sandwich, which is a great deal). That would really be best.

I found the list of winners everyone. You have to make sure you go to www.walgreenslistens.com. There are several other imposter sites, and that’s why your getting all the adds. After the survey, if you scroll down to the bottom, it will say “survey winners” and here’s the link for the list that comes up: http://www.inmoment.com/websurvey/servlet/BlobServlet?s2=370e0870-781d-30c6-94e1-0fe8490d4a30-7a&v=0&type=0&t=surveySweepstakesOfficialWinnersListDec

Also, you’ll come to a question, when filling out survey online, where it says “do you mind answering a few more questions?”. Click “No” if you don’t want to complete another 10 min of questions. Good luck, and Happy New Year’s to everyone.

Walgreens harassment/discrimination

I was just recently harassed by the store mgr., then because of the harrassment, I became distraught, upset. I told the pharmacy mgr. that I was leaving to go to the doctor and why. I also spoke to employee relations to file a complaint on the store mgr. for harassing me at work. I had a severe anxiety attack at the doctor in which I was transported by ambulance to the hospital. I also have a note from the doctor. The following day, I was told on the phone by the store mgr. that I was fired for abandoning my work and that he went to the proper channels and not to show up to work on monday. I worked at walgreens for almost 8 years. I never got sick and not had a doctors note and this is what corporate did to me and my livelyhood. Not one person investigated or tried to help me from corporate. They only believed the store mgr. Justice will prevail.

Walgreens why do we have to pay for a flu shot?

I don't understand why they give the pharmisist the flu vaccine for free but make there technicians and store staff have to pay they put all this extra work on us with no extra help you think they could give us the vaccine also. I talk with other people and there employers pay for theres. All this company thinks about is money, money, money, this is the first year they have there pharmisist giving flu shots and braging about how much there making makes me even more angry! I have worked for this company for a long time. My next complaint is we do not get are 15 minute breaks. And with all this extra work, it is getting harder and harder to go to work each day I'm tired! WE NEVER GET ARE BREAKS!

Wow...so let me see. Pharmacists make an average of $110 K per year. That's more than 2X what the average store manager now makes...and as for the lowly cashiers, photo techs and the like
well we make an embarassingly low amount PER hour...
and yet...Walgreens in their infinite wisdom has decided to give the highest paid employees in the entire store the vaccines for free?!

Hmmmm without me, and my lowly counterparts...well the store wouldn't be able to function should a flu epidemic really occur...so how can they justify this?!
For me to pay for my flu shot..it's the equivalent of me working for aprox. an hour and a half (before taxs).
Who ever comes up w/ ridiculous ideas like this should be fired.

I am an employee for Walgreens. Even if you do not receive your vaccinations for free, you do receive a huge discount compared to what customers must pay - $10 compared to $24, that's almost 60% off. As for breaks, different states have different laws on requirements for breaks and lunches. I'd check the laws in your state - however, I checked the policy on the employee website (which you can access with your storenet sign-on, employee.walgreens.com) and it states as follows:
"Meal and Rest Periods

Walgreens maintains a policy to ensure that hourly employees are given a reasonable amount of break time during their shifts. If you are an hourly employee, the following applies to you.
Rest Periods (Breaks)

If you work more than four hours in a day, you will be given one 15-minute paid rest period. If you work at least eight hours in a day, you will be given two 15-minute paid rest periods.

Meal Periods

If you work more than five hours in a day, you will be given a 30-minute unpaid, uninterrupted meal period. Your meal period will begin no less than two hours and no more than five hours from the start of your shift.

If you work three or more hours of overtime during a single workday, you will be given a 30-minute unpaid, uninterrupted meal period before or during your overtime period.

Your time spent on a meal period is not considered working time as long as you were completely relieved from duty for your entire meal period. If you are asked to return to work before the end of your meal period, you will be paid as if you had worked your entire meal period. "

If they're not allowing you breaks they're not following corporate policy, and you could complain to upper management. There are resources which should be posted in the breakroom or office with a number to call and report or complain.

Walgreens whimsical refills of prescriptions

I recieved a prescription from my psychiatrist for Xanax (60 pills month, take twice daily) with 2 refills. I also get Celexia (citalopram) for depression. Recently I was going on a cross country trip and called my Xanax refill in two weeks early, leaving a message. I tried to call to explain why I needed to get them early, but lo and behold, they filled them without a fuss.

I have no insurance and pay cash.

Since I have a refill left, and my money only comes sporadically, I would like to get them early again(15 days) just while I have the money (plus I can only transportation on 1 day of the week, and that's unreliable.

Anyway, I don't wnt to cause a fuss, but are drug stores allowed to refill such medication as benzos and anit-depressents under less stringent rules than narcotics? That is, . did I just get lucky, catching someone in a good mood? I don't want to call and be embarrassed or sound like some junkie. I don't need them, but does anyone know what the restyrictions actually are, or does it depend on the store, pharmacist, state, or whim of the pharmacists?

No biggie, but I was surprised they filled them after only 14 days with no questions asked.

Thanks.

I went to Walgreen's today and purchased a prescription for $45.00. I was given a receipt that said I could enter a month cash sweepstakes for $3, 000.00 if I completed a short survey. There is no such survey available. There were numerous other individuals that have complained also. Why has this not been corrected? I was able to call the 800 number and do the survey. Walgreen's needs lessons from Petsmart regarding on-line surveys.

Pa state law now only allows refills 3 days in advance with Xanax I am not sure where you are from but I just found this out today so it could be all of US or just where I am from I don't know. Also insurance or no insurance since Xanax is a controlled substance watch getting refills done to soon before they are due or your doctor will get a letter reguarding your refills after the pharmacy tells you they won't refill them and you could be taken off your meds and moved to something else or just not have refills n get a 30 day script and that's all. I only know that cause my x husband traveled a lot and when I could i went with him and you can only transfer a script to a different state once so I was getting them refilled when I could while I was in pa n sometimes it was 10 days early. That caused a huge fuss! I was able to get my doctor to understand but was told if the issue came up again I would never be put back on Xanax again it forced me to stop traveling like I used to and I just stayed home :( good luck to you hope my rambling helped

Walgreens rip off

I ordered triad insoles. they said they came in packages of 1 or 2. I ordered 3 packages of 2 expecting 6 pairs. I received only 3 pairs. When i questioned them they said i got 1 right and 1 left in a package. Duh! all over the counter insoles come in pairs. Further i paid almost $10.00 a pair plus shipping. I have since found them in most stores for $4.50 +/- a pair. when I complained and they gave em this ridiculous answer i was appalled. i thought they were a reputable company. Wrong! save your money do not buy anything on the Internet from them.

Walgreens prescriptions

Im not sure if the pharmacy department of this particular Walgreens is to blame...or if it's the manufacturer / distributor but... For 2 consecutive months when I went to pick up a prescription, I was shorted.

I understand that they can't replace the drug that is missing because it is a narcotic. What I dont understand is their lazy a$$ed attitude about it. Someone somewhere is getting a narcotic that they arent prescribed...and that they didnt pay for and NO one seems too concerned about it.

I know what they're thinking...it's a narcotic and Im just trying to get more etc.

NO one but me touched this med from the time of purchase until the time I discovered they'd been tampered with so it didnt happen while in my possession.

I closely inspected the packaging of both prescriptions to ensure the packaging was not or had not been tampered with. Im just not sure if someone in the pharmacy is really good at concealing what they've done, or if this happened even before it got to the pharmacy.

BUT...I think it's a screw that I..and my insurance is paying for something Im not receiving.

I just wish more could be done.

walgreens is a joke, i quit walgreens 2yrs ago but since walmart is just as bad, i went back to walgreens to give them another try, well, all differant people working at our walgreens so we thiught maybe thats good things will be done right, ''not'', i dropped off a prescription on the 24th, only received part of script, thats fine, so i had to drive 50 miles to doctor becuz walgreens doesnt fill the other half, so i drive back with new script and walgreens says my full script will be ready on the 9th of next month which is today, well they not only didnt order my script they had none in stock, , ha, so i told him he was a sorry fool, and i went to a family owned pharmacy down the road, they gave me a half script, and said they would give me the balance once it came in, they also said they can do a 24 hr order fill, rather than me going to get another script, its 10 bucks more but well worth the service, walgreens, pfft never again, nothing has changed there, do your self a favor go to a family owned pharmacy,

what I would do the next time I picked up my script..before they try and hand your meds to you..you can ask for them to be recounted infront of you...because once they have touched your hands they are no longer liable..I always have mine recounted because(accidents) can happen...good luck

why take methadone and percocet together? methadone is a opoid blocker and the percocet isnt doing anything but getting your body addicted to it and u dont need that cause no matter what the methadone is a drug that is long lasting and stays in your system for up to three days and when your ready to get off the methadone your going to have a hard time cause everyone does, im very educated on this methadone thing, i go to the clinic, so your body is going to go threw withdraw from methadone and percocet so your best bet would to be to drop the percocet and wing down to the lowest dose of methadone u can...if something would happen to that doctor, ur not going to just find any doc to wing you off or even give them to you so seriously think about the furture here..

Well Dennis, you do have to understand that these people in the pharmacy see people like you (on strong narcotics) coming in on a daily basis claiming they were shorted their pills. Don't eat them all in one day and you won't be "shorted" lol... And being on such strong drugs as methadone AND percocet I do not see WHY IN THE WORLD you would post your address for all to see! That is the dumbest thing I've ever seen, you are ASKING to be robbed! And then you really won't have your meds! And what kind of doctor is prescribing you methadone AND percocet together?

This happened to my nephew with his Adderal XR. His Rx was written for 60 pills. He came over to my house after picking this prescription up and gave it to me. I always hold it for him so that none of his room mates steal it. So he gives me the bottle. And right away I notice that it is a small Rx bottle and not the larger size that 60 capsules will fit in. (my daughter gets the same RX for 60 and it always comes in a larger bottle.) So immediately I asked him if he had a 2nd bottle of the medication. He said NO that was all they gave him. I had opened the stapled bag so I knew he was not lying. I called the Walgreen's Pharmacy, Spoke with one of the girls in the Pharmacy. She tells me I will have to call back tomorrow that the Pharmacy Manager is gone for the weekend. I said that was unacceptable, that this was a criminal matter is it was not settled within the remainder of the day! I also told her I was coming down there now and hung up. I went to Walgreen's (within 5 minutes). I spoke with the Pharmacy manager that was on for the evening. She said that we would have to wait until her shift was over, and at that time they would do a controlled substance count. I told her that was not acceptable and if they did not find out what happened to the remaining 30 Adderal XR, I would call the Police and I am sure they could settle this, with the end result being someone getting arrested. This Manager was not happy with my ultimatum. However, she went and did a quick count of the Adderal in stock. ( at least that is what she said she did?) She returned with the remainder of the Adderal and apologized for the misunderstanding. I personally think someone in the pharmacy stole the 30 Adderal and thought because my nephew was not an older adult... he was 19 at the time. That they could get away with stealing this drug and he wouldn't do any thing about it. Considering most young adults hate any contact with the police, especially when it comes to drugs like Adderal. This person in the pharmacy never expected someone that knows the law to come down and demand the return of this controlled medication. If you use this pharmacy again, open your package before you leave and count the medication yourself. If it is short, you should call the police immediately, then show the open package to the pharmacist and tell them it is short, and that you have called the police. Because you know someone there has been shorting you on your controlled medication and now you can prove it. And you know the police will be very interested in this problem. I am sure the Pharmacist will give you what is missing. But wait for the police so that an investigation can be done. The people that work in pharmacies are humans like you and I. They are just as susceptible to abusing or becoming addicted to drugs. I do hope this information helps and that you are able to settle this matter.

Walgreens awful place

This is a store that needs to be carefully monitored. On several occasions, my wife who suffers from Alzheimer's has been verbally abused, her prescriptions not filled, laughed at, and humiliated. The last instance occurred when she was trying to get her prescriptions filled, and the pharmacy refused, unless she could tell them all the medications she was taking. Of course she could not, because of her condition. So the Manager/Pharmacist refused by leaning over the counter, as my wife was too sick to stand, and was sitting on the floor, and laughed at her.

I am a health care advocate and have been for several years. On each occasion that the abuse occurred, I have either spoken to the pharmacist personally or by phone. On each occasion they have promised to correct the situation, only to commit the same or similar offense shortly afterward.

I'm writing this to try to prevent this form of abuse from happening to other chronically ill patients.

I am sorry for you. I have my own nightmare with Walgreen's. They are the absolute worst company out and clueless as to what is going on.

I have just reported them for INSURANCE FRAUD. They continue to bill for items that should not be billing for.

Take your business anywhere else.

I would not wish a Walgreens experience on anyone. Walgreens "The Pharmacy you Trust". NOT HARDLY!

Why don't you go to the location WITH your wife. I mean if she's having this much trouble with them, go with her then especially with this situation where she was too sick to stand! You might be a health care advocate but your certainly not helping your wife out much. Next time, be with her, or even better let her go get her meds and stand a ways away so you can see if the pharmacist is mean to her or not. Bring a camera, so then you'll have proof!

Walgreens would not fill a refill

This is the second time this has happened in the last 6 months.

Tonight I tried to pick my class 3 controlled substance 2 days early. It's a refill. Insurance would not pay until tomorrow which was only 3 hours away. I asked if they would run it on my secondary insurance since I was there and picking up another script they told me no. So I said I would pay cash, again they told me no. The pharmacist at walgreens said I had to wait exactly 15 days from date of the last refill. It's a 15 day script.

Now they have put a flag in the computer saying they will have to call my doctor to get my refill. I'm sick of being treated like a criminal when I go in to pick my controlled substance up.

Because of this I have decided i'm going to transfer all off my scripts (8) to a local pharmacy.
Bottom line I'm fed up with getting looks and comments from the pharmacist and staff when I go to walgreens for my pain medicine.

They can personally label you as "narcwatch" for any reason by anyone which means you are a suspect addict or pusher, they dont keep record of who put the label or why but its usually the cause of harrassment and rudeness in my own experience and not allowing me to fill my schedule 4 as early as anyone else and making me wait exactly 30 days for a 3p day scrpit i ask why they say "someone" left a note to wait, i ask why the note to wait theu dont know, so i say so let me get this straight youre making me wait bc someone maybe nit even a pharmacist left a comment to always make me wait without explanation and you are going against store policy to follow a NOTE! YEP sorry maam, and hangs up on me. Now i know why im sure they labled mw as this apparently is a common Walgreens practice, and to boot, my daughter's soon to be father in law in a pharmacist at Walgreens, im sure if and when he has or will look up my name hell have a pretty [censored]ty perception of me all bc of some "person" who did nit know me from adam for whatever reason stuck a label on me, i dont get opioids, i only get 1 sched 4 rx, every month for the last 5 years the dose has never changed and ive never asked them for a refill any earlier than im allowed.

I had the same problem with Walgreens for my Ambien. It last 30 days, sometimes I have to be there on the 29th day to get another blood pressure script and I ask if I can also pick it up. They always say no and that its exactly 30 days. The government does not require this as there is a 7 day rule per prescription written. Its not the Gov't as I work here, its walgreens. PS I am transferring to another pharmacy after this that is no associated with walgreens. I spoke to another pharmacist at a competitor who said they are being hard to deal with and people just will go elsewhere

You're exactly right, Walgreens makes their own internal laws that are more stringent than state or federal law. The fact is that Walgreen's doesn't care about the patient; they care about covering their rear ends at the expense of the patient. Ultimately, Walgreen's is accountable first and foremost to their shareholders. Patients typically come in last in terms of priority. Walgreen's should be fighting for patients against the DEA, not cowardly bowing down by issuing secretive internal policies that make access to medications even more difficult. The executive team at Walgreen's corporate are simply cowards who refuse to allocate any legal resources to ongoing protection of patients. Instead, they have taken on the role of the drug store police. There are thousands of complaints against Walgreen's and they do absolutely nothing. Way to go Walgreen's! You officially suck!

Walgreens may be a business, but the pharmacists who work there like to flex their power. I have had numerous experiences where the Walgreens pharmacy would not fill my prescription, even though my doctor either wrote me the script or called it in. The last experience I was told it was a refill too soon. When I pointed out that it wasn't a refill (state law does not allow more than 30 day supply), it was a medicine that MY doctor prescribes me once a month. The pharmacist than told me it that my insurance wouldn't cover it, I replied that I would pay cash. She then said it was at her discretion to fill the prescription and she wasn't going to fill it. Not all pharmacists are lazy or so disappointed with their lives they have to exert power by withholding medication, Walgreens does seem to attract quite a few of them.

"I'm sick of being treated like a criminal when I go in to pick my controlled substance up."

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. Not, "Get another refill whenever the hell I feel like it" substance. Walgreens is a business first and foremost. They would have sold you your drugs if not bound by law. I hope your doctor subscribes something for your rampant paranoia.

Walgreens pharmacy harassment

Our problems continue to be with customer service and demeanor from the pharmacy end of walgreens. My mom has terminal medical conditions and suffers immense pain 24 hrs a day for years until recently the last year. My mom's new doc had worked for 2 yrs to find a pain control regiment that works for best quality of life and it works well with minimal side effects. It consists of very large mg doses of narcotic pain meds and something like 3 different kinds for instant relief, extended relief for bedtime and breakthrough pain.

The doc prefers she use only walgreens to fill meds and many times she is judged and harassed by pharmacists, lied to on two occasions and today the pharmacist flat out refused the monthly refill. The guy took it upon himself to decide that my mom does not need her refill this month since she has other pain meds. The guy even said that she has too many pain meds and he; who has never even met her, doesnt know her illness or anything about her... alters her doctor's prescription regiment after years of trying so many other treatments and meds. the current regiment would not be in place if it wasn't needed or if there was some other method or if my mom and her doc hadnt exhuasted all other means.

The pharmacist told us that he would give her one day supply until he contactcs her doc who isnt in for two more days. He actually told my mom she didnt need the refill and I told him the script is lagit and has been for some time and we always fill it there. The man said there is no since arguing (as if we were) that she go home and he will call her doc to verify why she needs so many meds and he sternly said not to call him either just to wait for his call. Upon our efforts to complain about past harassment, i learned that walgreens policy is that all prescription fills are at the discression of the individual pharmacist so they are allowed to refuse for any reason.

Further, the pharmacist filled a one day supply yet printed on the label that he filled the full quantity over 200 pills so we called to tell him knowing the importance of medication label accuracy and the guy said it was no problems and makes no difference and hung up on my mom.

We have complained to the doc before about walgreens but the doc really preferred we stay with them but this next vist we are going to demand a new pharmacy on the pain contract.

As far as i know, a pharmacist is not a medical doctor and has never treated my mom for her illness. I do not understand how he or any pharmacist has any right to make adjustments my mom's treatments. We are tired of her being humiliated almost every time she gets her meds just because they are pain meds and she gets 15 other scripts from them as a huge revenue source they are about to loose but dont seem to care.

This pharmacist was the pharmacy manager so we will start by talking to the store manager after she gets her meds. Anyone know of another source to file a complaint about bad customer service knowing we cant dispute the decision not to fill a script.

I have used Walgreens each month for years to fill my prescription for pain meds. But today I experienced the worst customer service I have ever seen at a pharmacy. When I refill my meds, I give them legitimate scripts from a legitimate doctor, my valid drivers license, and I am in good standing in their database. But today all of a sudden, they needed to call the doctor. They could not get through, and left a message to call them back. I then call the doctor, and get through immediately. They tell me they are not allowed to call Walgreens, but are available to answer their call now. I relay this information to the pharmacy, and ask that they call now. I sit there for another 2 hours and find out they have done nothing. They see me sitting there, they know what I need, they know why I am waiting, but simply don't care. Keep in mind, this was at 10am and not at all busy. I believe this to be specifically a Walgreens issue, and will never go there again.

Walgreens register rewards problems

I don't know what's up with these stores or their employees. Well long story short, it always seems like the employees don't know how the Regiser Rewards work. Today I went in, and I had a RR for $4. I was purchasing Listerine for $4. The cashier didn't even try to scan my RR, he said he didn't think it would work and handed it back to me. I had to ask him if he could just try to scan it. He then asked the other cashiers first. the asst. mgr was there, and he just had this stupid blank look on his face. Then another cashier said it should work as long as you purchase at least the amount of the RR. he scanned it and it worked. I don't know why they are always so difficult there. I usually don't shop at Walgreens, but each time I have been there (different locations) there is always some sort of issue. Train your employees!

You hit the nail on the head. The root of most of Walgreen's problems falls back to a huge lack of training. Walgreens expects an unreasonable amount of tasks to be accomplished with few employees and this results in no time ever for anything. Training-no time, figure it out somehow. Customers-no time, solve the problem yourself. I have been written up and forced to sign my write up to a mistake that I unknowingly made because I had terrible training. Any employee able to compensate for the horrible training should be praised to high heaven.

"Why should Walgreens pay customers to take their items?" Perhaps because Walgreen's ISN'T paying the customer - the Register Reward the OP is referring to is the same as a Manufacturer Coupon. The manufacturer is the one that creates the Register Reward at Walgreen's. Register Rewards are a STORE CREDIT for a previous purchase you made. I spent the money up front to by soda, for example, and the program was I buy all the soda UP FRONT (aka paid all the money to Walgreen's) and the soda manufacturer had a promotion to give me a $5 store credit for my next purchase - aka Register Reward. So to answer the question, "Why should Walgreens pay customers to take their items?" Perhaps STUPID employees that can't think for themselves or understand BASIC math, logic and reasoning should stop making STUPID comments about customers that CAN.

I hear the fair is hiring to tear tickets SCmn. Oh, it is moments like these I do wish the evolutionary theory of survival of the fittest was possible...

Maybe stupid customers should stop taking advantage of register rewards. Customers use register rewards to get items that will print out a register rewards. So sometimes customers get items for NEGATIVE $3.00. Why should Walgreens pay customers to take their items?

So of course we should RAISE minimum wage to reward loser workers like this. Yep. Grand idea.
