Waffle House re-using gloves

This place is plain awful... I entered the store to find a team of thugs trying to get people to play three card molly... One of the guys ask me to hold a hundred and I told him I was fine. I sat down to only realize there was beef between 1st and 2nd shift. They were going at it... Something about she was tired of coming in only to do work that was left from the 1st shift... So finally she was nice enough to finally take my order with an attitude... As I waited for my food I noticed the cook using the same gloves to empty trash, pull food from the refridgerator and then prepare it as if he was following policy. I was outraged! Then to top it off travis the unit manager pulls out a cart full of food that needed to be put in the cooler... It sat ther over 25 minutes while they laughed and talked as if there store was number 1.

Waffle House products

Need new manager someone who will be able to hire and train new people. Need someone who will give the people who work there what they need from the stock room. Need someone who will come and cook the food good and fast. They try to get other shifts to work second shift and there is no business there. They need to pay second shift waitress medium wage until business builds up. Someone help before the good people who are there decides to leave.

I like Waffle House

Hey there
I work at the waffle house in Decatur Alabama where the manager's name is Mary Evens. I have to say what a joke letting a woman who has had an operation on her foot and allow her to go back to work knowing that she is in so much pain that she is making everyone hate going to work. Since she has taken over store 270 I have lost alot of money in tips because no one wants to come in. We never have anything stock in the store to use so we have to wait until we get real busy before she will let one of the waitress go to the conversary to get what we need. It hurts her to stand on her feet to long so the waitresses are cooking also and not getting paid for it. The other cooks on the other shifts and maybe I should include morning shift cooks also do not do prep work to make sure there is food to last through the night. I have seen raw sausage in the gravy. The chili is not made right half the time. Even when their is 2 cooks on the weekend most of the food still comes out wrong and we are losing money. I also have seen more food given away because of the mistakes that the cooks make. I love working at waffle house but this is to rediculous. Gosh I hate to look for a new job. We need faster cooks and some good first shift waitresses. The night shift waitresses need to be replace also. There are a couple great waitresses on first shift but could use a few more.

Waffle House reverse discrimination

I've worked with this company for alot of years. I moved here 6 months ago and began working at the most unproffesional unit I've ever seen unit 325. Apparently at this unit if your white your expected to do all the work even theirs. Your expected to work any time your needed. But if your african american you can wear dirty uniforms, open shoes called crocs, and leave without ever doing your job. If customers complain it's laughed off because apparently they're above reproach. I've seen white people who asked about a job get told none were available but a black person is hired. Being white I'm treated like I'm beneath them. I've brought this up several times to my regional and area managers only to be told they don't want to hear it. So I've decided to hire a lawyer maybe then they'll listen.

Waffle House unfair no hire list

I also worked for a waffle house and was also treated bad by the management there. Jasper Alabama matter of fact. I was put on the no hire list for reasons that is not true. I was one of the best employee that waffle house had. I was never late and even showed up when it snowed. Rarely sick and I worked really hard beyond what others did there. I was not taking drugs or alcohol or selling it to customers like some of them at night. I worked the day shift but so was some of his friends and relative. He treated me like I was a dog and he also yelled at me from the top of his lungs as some would say. I had to go to CA. to help my ex husband and when I got back I found out I was on a no hire list. If waffle house is interested in the rest of my story they can call Darlene at [protected].
The manager there was giving neck massage and then crack your neck and he busted my disk and I had to have an opperation and I still was faithful to waffle house. I need a job and I am a hard worker and I like waffle house why can't I work there or replace the manager there. I have an asso. of bus. certificate.

Think I'm going to sue waffle House for this crap. That's the only way to put an end to it. Sue the hell out of them and teach them a lesson. Once it makes national news they probably will have no choice but to stop illegally discriminating against hard working Americans.

Waffle House employee treatment

My roommate works at the Waffle House here in town as a grill operator. She has worked off and on for Waffle House in a number of different locations for about 14 years and NEVER has she EVER had so much trouble in one store. Her previous boss was bad, but her new boss is a racist peice of crap. It was thought that under new management that the store would run better but its not. She has hired only family and friends, only hires black or ghetto white girls. 90% of the employees are drug addicts be it pills or others like weed, and none are there to "sell eggs only ###" as my roomie puts it. First shift gets everything pulled for the shift that they will need, Second shift is the prep shift and NEVER does the prep work, and Third shift NEVER has enough of anything to do a good sale. Not to mention that third shift, the shift she works, has the WORST employees ever.

Her boss doesn't seem to care when my roomie, we'll call her C, complains to her, but if anyone else does, then her boss, we'll call her J, will deal with it. Her co-workers on third are T and S. T and S are friends and tend to cause a LOT of trouble for C. They say things that aren't true, flirt with everything that walks in and has a penis, and comes in drunk, high, or out of uniform. If C were to do any of these things she would be suspended or fired. C told J that the reason she didn't come in to work for a weekend was a mental break down along with a few other things, doctors note and all, and J was the ONLY one she told, now all of 2nd and 3rd shift know why she was out.

Her boss J told her that while she was gone, drama in the store was down, which is ### because C got four voicemails from customers calling to complain about service for the weekend she was out AND the two she was suspended (She only works Fri, sat, and Sun). People were walking out because their food was horrible, the service was even worse, and the general experience was just bad.

C is a master grill operator and gets paid minimum wage when she should be making 10 or more an hour. She is the lowest paid cook there but is only 1 of 2 out of the 7 cooks on staff that are qualified as a master grill operator. She is not allowed to wear her ball cap that says MASTER GRILL OPERATOR because its "not uniform code" and it makes the other cooks "jealous" according to J. The hat IS uniform code because it was given to her by CORPORATE not franchise. C is manager on 3rd because she is the cook, which makes her the boss when the boss isn't there, but NONE of the employees listen to her, and then she gets chewed out by J, even when J KNOWS that the employees don't listen.

T is going into the MIT program and came in higher than a kite, the district manager S, asked her if she was cause she looked it, and T said no, so S marked that she had a drug test when she didn't, but C had to actually go get one, and was STILL denied MIT when it came back clean, because she wasn't "qualified". She keeps getting passed up on raises and bonuses, but everyone else is getting theirs. Her boss J keeps putting into effect rules that are NOT Corporate rules, like no purses can be bigger than six inches long, and six inches deep... thats a dollar bill in length and depth... ###.

The list goes on and on about this bull that she has to put up with. C is at her wits end and would like to file a lawsuit against Waffle house but there is a paper she signed that says that basically she can't without finding a loophole somewhere, so if someone could help me out, please email me at [protected]@hotmail.com with any information you can give me.

PLEASE!

Hi, I worked for store number 1760 in Lafayette Louisiana. It has a bad reputation and the customers are very rude. They literally can get away with anything. 50 percent of the customers have guns with them on weekends and the staff isn't really protected. I have been reporting to my store manager for six months that this male customer has been threatening me and nothing was done. The guy continued to come around and get served and he continued to threatened me. Tell me why the guy got the head security number who was not there to conspire with him to get me fired and I been there for almost three years. The security wasn't even there to see or here him threatened the whole staff because nobody wanted to serve him because he is very rude and he threatened people.

went to waffle house in jacksonville arkansas today to pick up breakfast and waited at the register for a while to place my order as that is what i was told to do. finally a waitress walked up and asked what i wanted. i asked first if waffle house automatically charged the customer for the waitress tip. she said no but we will charge 10% for a to go container. i was going to be spending 13.00 just for the food. that means i would be paying 1.30 dollars for a flimsy container to carry my food in. those containers dont even cost 2 cents . i said this to the waitress. she said you want to talk to the manager and screamed across the restaurant "rude customer wants to talk to the manager! he came over and in a rude tone asked me what i wanted. i explained my dislike for being charged for a to go container. he told me if i wanted to go i will pay the fee. i replied mcdonalds is right up the road and he told me to go there. i went to wendys instead which is also right up the road. I am taking time out of my busy day to let you know that if i ever return to waffle house for my usual to go order and am charged that 10% container fee i will be reducing the waitress's tip by 20% . so lose lose for waffle house not me the customer. congratulations for reducing you waitresses tips.

So she message her unit that was off that day bout the situation and she responds saying she needed to tell the manager that is on duty she reply with the reson y she wont and left it at that until the nxt day that the unit was working...with the unit coming in the nxt day know the situation..tells her she needs a statement from her until then they cant do nothing so shortly after the day start the unit left to cover another store my friends said plz dont go cuz then something might happen she said it will be ok i will be back shortly and like she had predicted attitudes started flair again my friend messages her unit telling her bout she reply i will be there soon so she replys back saying she wants something to be done and goes on with her day and when unit returns so does her division. Needles to say nothing was said to this other employee and hrs go by and at the end of the shift there devision manager calls three ppl outside individually and stated to my friend that the drama the attitude and the words need to stop...and then she left hoping that they would do something that day... My friend goes back to work on tue from being off on monday to find that her name was crossed off of some of the days on the schedule and notice that this other person was put on for more hrs as a g/o making more money and still working with this person that whole day afraid to say the wrong thing or doing the wrong thing so after work she gets home realizes nothing has been done bout the situation and quits her job. Now my question to you guys should and could she still call her company and make a report with that being reason why she quit

Store #2141 in Zebulon, NC has the rudest grill operator I have ever had the dis pleasure to meet. Her name is Karen and she is a bully. She is very unprofessional and thinks she is some kind of bad [censored]. When she is truly the definition of white trash. Then people will wonder when someone comes in there and busts her in the face or worse. People need to think before they speak and people need to remember you should not bully people. It is wrong in any circumstance. Just wrong.

I used to work as a Master Grill Operator at the unit 2098 and I was recently wrongfully terminated over a damn text...BY A TEXT! What kind of manager does something like that! I was forced on third, promised that if I ran heavy cooking sales I would be picked to go to the Serv Safe class in the near future...8 months on 3rd shift and I got passed over twice...and then the servers accused me to my manager that I was treating them unprofessionally! I would sometimes cook 1500 dollar shifts BY MYSELF on weekends...that place is NOT WORTH IT. Especially with the current management..I tried texting my district on why I was accused of treating my servers unprofessionally and I never got a text back! Screw Waffle House! I'll find something better and hopefully a better place that will actually value my service and not just throw my services away like nothing after 3 years!

I just quit Waffle House after 10+ years. Trust me, they don't give a rats ### about the employees. To them people are numbers, I know I was a master of controlling those numbers in multiple restaurants. The deeper you look into the company the more you will realize its layers of hypocrisy over layers of abuse and shame. If you are an hourly associate being told you have a chance at a career, they are lying to you. Even if you do achieve getting into the management program there will always be a stygma on your career that you were once an employee.

Find a better place to work, and to the customers, find a company who actually cares for its people to support.

To whom ever runs this circus of a corporation,
I wish to express my utter disgust at the treatment my family received by your manager at the Buckeystown Frederick location at Wafflehouse. Her name Sophie Bam. My cousin, whom is 16, started her first job at the Frederick location, and your manager and she became fast friends. My cousin has bi-polar disorder, and last Friday 7-11-14, ran away from home. Your 21 yer old manager harbored a runaway, by taking in my cousin, knowing she was a run away, and initially lied about her whereabouts. The police were at your establishment two different times looking for my cousin, and finally took her into their custody that following Sunday, after finding her working, even though the day before her guardian came in asking for her work license to be given back, as she was not allowed to work there anymore. Sophie Bam then LIED to my cousin, whom I must reiterate is a minor, and said she didn't have/couldn't find/was at the corporate office, her work permit. I do understand that it was most likely deceived by my cousin, but as an adult, as a person YOUR company trusts to hold a management position, this person not only lied and deceived to cover her own ###, but for a sixteen year girl who was not allowed to work at your establishment, this manager discarded the wishes of her guardian, and allowed a delinquent runaway, to continue working despite the fact that she knew that not only her family was looking for her but the police as well! And here she was allowing her to continue working and harboring her!

When the police showed up the second time at the restaurant to search for her, they found her working, and the manager admitted that my cousin had been staying with her.

And now to the part that has me writing this letter, to not only you but EVERY media outlet I can find.

My cousin denied that she was staying with your manager, and convinced Sophie to change her story to keep my cousin out of trouble. When Meegan and her guardian returned to the store to talk to the manager, the manager not only retraced her story but told my cousins guardian that it was SHE, SHE, who and I can directly quote "acting insane". This absolutely disgusting offensive term out of the mouth of your manger to the guardian of one of your FORMER employees, because as many problems as my cousin has at the moment, this lying, deceiving, disgusting excuse of a manager doesn't need to be another problem for her?

I understand that like most companies, Waffle House tried to employ those who can represent the brand to the best of their ability. This manager not only smeared the name of your company today by harboring a criminal, which is indeed illegal, but disrespected a customer in front of other employees and customers.

I demand that swift action be taken to remove this poor excuse of a manager from her position and this company, because I know that Waffle House does not accept this kind of behavior, and I know that Waffle House trains its employees better than to ever disrespect an employees family in front of customers like that, or at all! I know that Waffle House cares more about its brand, and it's costumers than to let this continue or EVER let this happen again, being a business about the people and all.

Sincerely a very dissatisfied customer.

Waffle House cooking in silicone

eat at your risk... short and sweet; waffle house cooks in silicone oil, cause it is cheaper...the liver can't metabolize silicone. eat at your risk...
in over fifty years of eating out the worst of the worst five was at waffle house, where even complaining about it, had no effect...all i got from the cashier, who was a regional manager, was; sorry you weren't satisfied with your meal, repeated three times...the juice order was the wrong size, the potatoes were slimy with grease, the toast became muffins, the scrambled eggs were inedible, sickening in fact, ..and so i thought i would email coprolite...you guessed it, no email contact...they know, but they don't want to hear it again from you...so far has america sunk to being a third world country, no butter in this restaurant at any price...all the best waffle house, ripping off poor hard up low income working peoples...

Waffle House prides itself in being America's place to eat; offering sometimes good food, and pleasant service with a smile. Though in truth those smiles are often faker then many realize. Waffle House waiters response

you offend one way or the other when you say Happy Holidays rather than Merry Christmas. Last night I went into my local Waffle House restaurant and told the waiter Merry Christmas. He responded Happy Holidays. I asked why he said that rather than the traditional Merry Christmas greeting. He shared that he was told that was the Christmas response they were to give to their customers. Either way someone is offended with the Happy Hoidays or Merry Christmas response. From God's word it reads "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord". St. Luke 2:11 King James Version. Let us beaware that we can even offend Jesus Christ--after all it is His birthday.

Waffle House very rude staff

My boyfriend and two friends of ours were in Galveston for the Lone Star Bike Rally. Our hotel was across the street from The Waffle House. Upon returning from the rally we parked the bikes and walked to the The Waffle House for breakfast. Because it was Halloween, we had on costumes. My boyfriend was wearing jeans that we had cut some holes in (not realizing the back pocket ended up with a hole in it) He put the keys to the bike in that pocket and needless to say they fell out. A waitress held up the keys asking if anyone lost their keys. Our friend saw this but didn't mention it until the next morning when we couldn't find our keys. We walked over to the The Waffle House to ask if they could look around for the keys. The people were so rude...they refused to look around or call any of the staff that had been working the night before. Later that night, my boyfriend called to see if one of the night people knew where they might be. Sure enough they were sitting right next to the register. Now we will have to make a 4 hour round trip to pick them up when it would have taken all of 4 seconds for the rude***** to look for them.

I don't understand them not looking around for them because that's dumb. It would have taken the staff all of two seconds. But I can understand why they didn't call the people who were working the night before. When I'm not at work, I don't want to be bothered with calls from work asking me questions.

Waffle House paid for 2 orders...

After getting off work on July 4th, My husband and my daughter and I went to Waffle House for a late dinner. I placed an order to go for two all star plates. Well after getting the food and taking it to my son, he calls me and tells me that there wasn't any bacon, his girlfriend had one egg, no chili and 2 pieces of tomatoes was on his hashbrowns. I paid over 15.00 dollars for this food and to not get all that I was charged for is a shame. If the people there working spent more time paying attention to their job instead of listening to the Ipods and texting the their cell phones the service might be better. Get better people to work nights at these places and your business just might fair better then it does. I won't go there again, I assure you.

We are visiting Naples from out of town. We have been to this Waffle House on two or three occasions because it's walking distance from the hotel and open late. The late night employees there are the absolute rudest people we have ever encountered at a restaurant. Every single time we have been there the employees have extremely nasty attitudes. Second...every single visit they have screwed our orders up. They have either gave us the wrong order, burnt the food, and the last straw last night was the chicken sandwiches we brought back to the room were raw! We made a complaint with the manager and he acted as if he could care less. Needless to say...we will NEVER return again. We wasted money on raw food or burnt food or wrong orders on more than one visit. We do not reccommend this place to any one unless you like rude service or getting sick.

My family and I ate at the Smyrna, De on April 15 at about 4 a.m. location this morning. I have always gotten good service at this and other locations, until tonight. While we ordered our food, the cook went to his car and spent time talking to a woman, when he returned he went straight to the grill without washing his hands. When our food arrived there were several mistakes made (wrong toast, missing onions on hash browns and we had to ask later for my chili). We asked the server to simply fry us up the onions and bring them out instead of remaking the whole order. We had to ask the cook for refills and asked for my chili after ate my meal. When we asked the server about the onions she LOUDLY announced, “They’re coming alright!” and continued to run her mouth to anyone and everyone in the restaurant about us. My sister in-law commented to the server “I’m sorry but we did order it that way it’s not our fault it was wrong.” Then the waitress said” look I do not have to serve you. I’m not bringing you your toast now” to which we replied, “well don’t expect a tip with that attitude” she said she did not care and walked away ignoring our request for her and the cook’s name. She came back with our receipt (her name scratched off) and ran her mouth to every customer in the place about us using very colorful language. We ask the cook, who was quiet through all of this, what her name was, his reply was “Dave” we said no her he said “Donny” and she laughed aloud. The scratched off name looked like dauphine or something close. At that point I said “if you’re not serving me I’m not paying” she replied “I don’t give a s**t it’s not my money”
I can’t tell you enough how mad and astonished that anyone with this type of attitude has a job working with the public. I am done eating at Waffle House at this point. I have never been treated with such disrespected at any place ever. I will be spreading the word of my experience to everyone I know.
Thank you

The waitress' are either to old to be a waitress or to rude.
The cooks are to slow. All around service was awful. Waffle House is not what it used to be. I have a family of 12 to 15 that used to go at least once to twice a week, now we got to find a different place to go. Thats sad that we as the public has to suffer such bad service.
My name is Evelyn Pele. My phone number is [protected], I would like someone to apologize to my family and I.

To supervisior or management:

I was in this waffle house this afternoon around 3:15. I had order a small salad. The waitress told me there wouldn't none made up. She didn't offer to make one up. The other strong complaint that I have is I notice when the cook was preparing food, she doesn't wear gloves. She was handling all the food that we order and wearing no gloves. This really turn my stomach. I have worked in a school lunchroom before and the workers wear gloves. When the waitress brought the food, I notice that she had let one of the sandwiches touch her apron which I thought was very unsanitary. I think that I need to run this by the health department and get there opinion on it.

Thank-you

We arrived at Unit 440 off Montague Ave. on July 14th at around 8:45pm and there were no customers but all the tables were dirty. We stood and waited or someone to come and clean them. We ordered our food and i told the waitress please cook my eggs very well. she brought them back almost not fried at all. she took them back to the cook and he complains about how i want it! my son ordered a chocolate milk, she brought him a coke. as we were eating, two waitresses went into the back and started yelling at each so loud it was unbearable! The waitress just hovered over our table and kept asking literally every 2 minutes if my husband wanted more tea after he stated no the first 2 times. I then made up my mind that I will never return to this location ever, ever again! This was ridiculous! No professionalism in this place at all!

Ok, I called the WF after Xmas eve, when the 3rd shift walked out, rather than stay and work. The 2nd shift was going bonkers, after all they are the only place open. Then 2 hours later the 3rd shift is allowed back to work. Well I called to complain, about what they were saying, and to uphold the manager. What happened? They complaint department, gave me a higher like regional manager who I talked to and then told the employees in question what I said and even embellished it. Needless to say when I went back and had to face one of the employees it was not nice. IF they keep running a business like this, then they will go broke.

On March 12, 2017 8:30 AM Waffle House located at 9293 Hwy 48 Gulfport, Mississippi. My son got home on leave from Iraq, still in his uniform. When he got off the air plane he stated he needed something to eat and wanted to go to a waffle house. We sat at the counter for 45 minutes being ignored, a bus boy did give US a coffee and tea. I attempted to get the waitresses attention twice by saying 'mam', as she passed by me, within two feet of me, but was ignored. As we were leaving, without eating, we were charged for the coffee and tea, workers at the Waffle house acted like it was a big funny joke about not serving an active duty Army man. Beings back in Viet Nam doesn't it. Coming home to AMERICA and being treated like this. I am calling for a BOYCOTT of all waffle Houses in the WORLD.

Waffle House cook sexually soliciting

I was In the waffle house this morning, May 24th 2009 around 10am. When I not only watched but was also the victom of the cooks sexual solicitation of a much older male customer. She was talking rather loudly about how much money it would take to get her to go home with this gentlemen for a few hours. Then she started telling about how she used to be a stripper and she can do all kinds of things for him in the bedroom. Then she proceeded to tell him her breast size and how she was tight. I then heard the man ask if he could have a feel of the product before he purchased then she leaned over to the bar and he grabbed her breast behind a menu that was supposed to hide that. And I am pretty sure that she was a part of managment i think her name was kris? She was very tall, glasses and a little sloppy. I was disgusted and couldnt eat my food so I just left i was a long time waffle house customer but I will NEVER go back to a restaurant were woman are proud to be sexually exploited. But hey it is 2009 and sex sells rite? good luck with selling it in ur restuarant maybe u should put it on your menu!

From what I have heard, this is not the first Waffle House where the staff solicits sex. Because the Waffle House is a so-called “family restaurant”, I think it is wrong and very immoral! If they’re that desperate, they need to take care of that kind of “customer service” after hours!

Waffle House hair in food

My husband and I were hungry around 3 am so we decided to go to The Waffle House. When we got in in we were treated very well. The only thing about them was that no gloves or hairnets were worn. I ordered eggs and as I was eating there was a red strand of hair weave in my plate, so I decided to get a salad it was not fresh and looked like it had been in the fridge for days. As the waitress brought us our glasses she grabbed them by the inside, we were very disgusted with this filthy restaurant and workers.. I called the next day and explained to the manager what happened she just said ok and... Please dont go to this filthy restaurant just like us you may not make it five miutes...

Waffle House terrible experience

Southern Waffle House purchased the Nashville based franchise from Tree Top Group in 1999 by the Shaub family and have grown the business now to 113 stores. Those of us who grew up with Waffle House (from the 1950's) know that WH is a legend in their own time, and we know and appreciate what we have had over years. SE WH recently chose Chapter 11 bankruptcy to cure their problems and now it appears their are other, more malicious events including check kitting, embezzlement of company funds, numerous harassment charges by employees, poor hiring practices, unclean/unsafe food preparation, taking advantage of new employees, rampant stealing by employees and management, drug use by employees including sales in their bathrooms and this can go on and on. Numerous calls and written complaints to corporate management in Georgia brings nothing and the local store is informed and the complainer questioned by store management, in one case told to not come back to the store solely on the basis of a justified complaint.

This WH franchisee will hire anyone based upon their ability to breathe and to sometimes wash their hands. They hire druggies, common criminals, major criminals who are not screened for the protection of their customers sake, active and ex prostitutes, barmaids who have been run out of the liquor business. They go out to the truckstops and pickup 'pavement princesses' to act as waitresses, hire them THEN ignore the stealing, shortchanging customers, etc.

After nearly 50 years of patronizing WH, locally in Nashville and traveling the southeast, we will not grace the foyer of any of these hashhouses again. Hash used to mean a food substance now it appears as an illegal substance. Unforgivable, not worth your money, your self esteem or your time to support. These are trash houses serving food not fit for humans OR animals and they need to close... starting with SE Waffle based in Nashville and regionally with their 113 stores. Garbage merchants...

I visited my daughter and grand kids over the Thanksgiving holidays and we went to Waffle house No 353. My wife and i ordered a patty melt and we dreceived two pieces of white toast with a slice of cheese on each and a hamburger patty with no grilled onions or pickles and it was open face. The server and cooks did not know what i was talking about when told that this was not the patty melt but just a cheese burger with two slices of cheese and then that took the plate back and came back with a couple of half grilled slices of onions. I though that the personnel was trained better than that and have never experience such at any of the waffle houses in the Metro Atlanta Area and we do go often to the local ones.

Waffle House unfairness

The manager in the waffle house (alabaster al) does not treat employees equally. She has her favorites and it really shows. I was a first shift employee for 3 months and she hired back a girl who was working 3rd and gave her my first shift position. I talked to the manager about it and she told me that the girl never quit. (even though she was put on the no re hire list, she never quit) she said she had been there for 5 years and that she had seniority over me. When i looked and the people quota sheet on the wall in plainly showed i had been there longer and tryed talkin to her again. thats when she told me that seniority didnt matter at waffle house that were ever you were needed was the shift you were going to be scheduled for. I think the reason she gave her my shift is because they are good friends and the girl was living with her for awhile. that is not right. i fill that something should be done about it

Waffle House worst treatment ever

Cuisine

On July 25th 2007 between the hours of 6.30 and 7.25 PM. we were harassed by a Waffle House Manage named Connie.

First Connie demanded that we order immediately because there were other orders in from of us. We explained that we were waiting on another person and connive responded with a "Whatever" and turned around and walked off.

A very nice young man by the name Carl waited on us later providing excellent service. When our other party arrived her car bumped into the curb. Connie mad a big issue of this stating that a man by the name of Stafford Belk would be more than happy to sue her for damages if there was any. When the young lady went out to move her car, Connie confronted me with the threat that I would be held responsible for damages. I informed Connie the vehicle was not mine and I would not be held responsible for anything. Connie told me not to get sassy with her that Stafford Belk had sued and won a case against somebody else for $800.00 for driving across the grass and that she was going to call him and tell him that it was my fault.

Upon inspection there was no damage including even a black mark on the curb, things settled down for a while and Carl continued to service our table until Connie out of cruelty alone demanded he clean up his section and go home.

We cut our meal short, paid and went to a adjoining parking lot to wait to see if the police or Stafford Belk came since the threat had been made. While in the adjoining parking lot, Connie came out of the back door and glared at us while smoking a cigarette for at least 15 minutes.

We later went to the other Waffle House on Cherry Rd. where we had excellent friendly service and was informed by the waitress that many customers had came into the Cherry Rd. Waffle House with similar complaints and it would be best not to go back because Connie's husband also worked at the Anderson Rd. Waffle House and they had a reputation for starting problems with customers who had previous bad episodes with either, then having the customer banned from the premises.

The cherry Rd, Waffle House waitress also informed us that she had been banned from the Anderson Rd. Waffle House property by Connie and that Connie had been recently fired for spitting in a employees face but rehired as manager again within a few days.

In retrospect; It is tough enough to put up with a person having a bad day who is paid to wait on you but would rather threaten customers directly and through third parties to extort or sue you for $800.00 for bumping into a curb, and it's even tougher to see that person abuse their position by being cruel to their subordinates...

I would strongly suggest anyone not wanting to witness or be a party to the same treatment not go to the Anderson Rd. Waffle House.

Waffle House horrible food service!

I submitted the following on the Waffle House website...partly for my own humor and because it such a horrible experience.

To Whom It May Concern:

This incident took place last night 10/24 at around 10pm. My girlfriend and I went to a movie Newport, KY. Afterwards we were extremely hungry so I suggested we go to Waffle House, or Wa-Ho as my some of us affectionately call it. My girlfriend had never been to a Wa-Ho so I was sure that she would enjoy her first experience at your restaurant. I would consider myself a loyal customer to Wa-Ho as I have traveled over to Kentucky (From Ohio) on many a late night just so I can enjoy a mouth-watering All Star Special mmmmm... Many times before, I have been satisfied with my Wa-Ho experience, but this night things were different.
We walked into the establishment and at the time there were only two other patrons in the whole place. Our waitress started by taking our drink order. Which only took about 10 minutes to get for us. And then she took our food order. My girlfriend is a vegetarian but due to the nature of breakfast food it was no problem finding something on the menu to her liking. She ordered a cheese and tomato omelette and I of course ordered the usual delectable All Star Special (with the eggs over easy, bacon, and grits) our waitress put our order in and then proceeded to flirt with the two older gentlemen at the other end of the restaurant. This seemed to be a recurring theme throughout this experience. My girlfriend went to use the restroom after we ordered and returned promptly saying she didn't use it because it was "disgusting" and "out of order" she did not have to elaborate any more….I got the picture. After about 15 minutes or so our food arrived. My All-star Special had arrived sans grits or a waffle and my vegetarian girlfriend's omelette arrived with big chunks of ham in it. Our waitress promptly informed my girlfriend that the cook had messed up her omelette. But still proceeded to serve it! She then also informed me that the cook had burnt my waffle because (roughly translated) "those damn guys won't shut-up and leave us alone" I was thinking all along that this situation could easily be avoided if the waitress and cook did not gravitate towards these two, in our waitress' words "obnoxious" men, every time there was a lapse in service, which seeing as we were her only table this happened to be very often. After she put our food down she promptly returned to the other side of the restaurant where the cook and the two men were talking and stood with her back to us. My girlfriend and I were in shock at what had just occurred as she sat there with a ham filled omelette in front of her and I sat mourning the absence of my waffle (Which I have made a habit of eating first when I get the All Star) and my grits. After about 5 minutes our server finally turned around and we were able to get her attention. We explained to her that we would like the omelette remade since it was supposed to be just cheese and tomato. She called it to the cook who grudgingly started to make it again. I also informed her that I got grits with my meal as well, which she then got for me. About 5 minutes later she brought over my waffle which despite having been burnt the first time and then remade was still burnt. Possibly due to the fact that "those men won't shut up and leave us alone". I had already finished my eggs, hash browns, and toast when the waitress brought out my girlfriend's remade omelette. She then set is down and nonchalantly informed us "He messed it up again". The cook amazingly had made the exact same omelette! This would have been perfect, once again if the person who was eating it wasn't a vegetarian! At this point the server said she would take it off our bill, which in most restaurants means that they will remake it to your liking but you just won't have to pay for it. This is called remedying or rectifying the situation. Apparently however these employees had not been trained in this type of customer service because after about ten minutes of waiting we realized that the cook and the waitress were still over talking to those guys who just "wouldn't leave them alone". Apparently the staff did not feel they needed to make a third omelette since they had already failed miserably the first two times.

I was almost grateful at this point because I wanted to get out of this place after enduring about 45 minutes of horrendous service which not only made my girlfriend and I feel extremely uncomfortable but more importantly left her still starving! Both of us have worked in the restaurant industry and we understand the importance of tipping so rarely do I tip under 20% on a bill. However I did something I regret, but due to gross negligence and shocking indifference from the whole staff I did not leave a tip. Overall this was the most disappointing customer service I have ever received. I strongly feel that my girlfriend and I will not return because of this experience but I felt I should inform you of this experience so it can be avoided in the future. Thank you for your time.

Workers were rude and the restaurant was filthy. I had to clean my table. It also took a very long time to order. Many workers but no one working. We were there 11/22/2023 about 12:15 pm.

#697 Waffle House in Augusta: They charge me $7.60 for service charge and 7.60 for To Go fee - then took and then an inclusive tax @ 6.91. The service charge is for tip, which they did not tell me. So, I have to pay an extra $34 just to get an order picked up! I called corporate and they said they can only refund $7.60!

DO NOT GO HERE!

I went to two Waffle Houses last night. E Greenville St and N Main St Anderson SC. They would not let us sit down and eat and serve us. I wanted to let you know. They were not busy just turning customers away.
