I recently visited the secrets resort in puerto vallarta. While doing the time share presentation we had our reservations about joining uvc, but the sales associate showed us the benefits of rci and that we would be getting 4 free weeks at just the exchange fee of $249, plus 1 free week at zoetry (a top notch am resort) with our membership. We looked through the rci website and saw some pretty great resorts, what they didn't tell us was that our free weeks could only be used at maybe 1/3 of those, all of which of course are crappy. The 249 "exchange fee" does not include additional resort fees, that almost all the resorts charge so the cost ends up being almost what you would pay anyways! After finding this out I then called and questioned about my "free zoetry week" only to find out that when I did test it by booking of a random week to see what I would be charged, it came out to $3k! My free week that I would earn after I paid my balance would cost me 3k lol! Literally every part of this membership that sold me was a complete lie! The worst part was that we put 2k down that we were planning on using for our family vacation 6 weeks later, and the resort we had planned on staying at was on the rci website. So we got sold on the "hey put the 2k down and you can use one of your weeks!' well our weeks were not deposited in time to use, and even when it was finally put into our account to use, the final cost if we had was still 1k! Not the 249 exchange. We got totally used all the way around. I cried for days after this. I don't know if they understand how terrible this is for people on a limited budget who plan for these vacations and save for them, to then use it against someone like they will save money and get what they actually promise in their presentations. I'm planning on putting a class action lawsuit against them if anyone would like to join please let me know!

OMG! I am in such turmoil… they have over $16K of my money (half of the membership amount), and I am so discouraged by my own experience, shared by other regretful members that I just want my money back and to be done with this vacation program!

I took the time to write UVC a five page letter defending my position to cancel the membership, sent it to the email link they site (cx@unlimitedvc.com), but haven’t heard a peep back after 10 days. Somebody please tell me there IS an active class action lawsuit against this company and post it if you can. Otherwise please email me. Thanks!

Yes. We would like to join the class action lawsuit . We went on vacation to Dreams Tulum. We purchased an all inclusive trip with Apple. I do believe everyone is in in this big scam. We attended the breakfast presentation with Melissa (sales rep.).She pretended to be caring and all about family. She asked my husband his age (64 yrs old). Well the lies started pouring in and the nightmare fir us begin. She used his age as bate to convince him ( I was very skeptical) she begged him to take this opportunity so that the following year when he retired we can stay up to 4 weeks in any dreams resort for free. Yes! Free! The cost of the membership would cover this. She explained, that they currently had guests staying at the same resort that were they 1 free month already, when I asked Melissa if I can talk to a member that currently on vacation to verify he was staying there for free , she said he had just checked bout. ! The offered a free week , wherever you want to stay but failed to tell us that you can’t use the week until the membership is paid in full. Melissa’s boss, Armando Zárate , also said that with our membership which includes a membership fir ULife style. We can purchase tickets to Jamaica (round trip) for [$140. He pulled the price of the ticket up on his iPad, which I am was already programmed, this too was also a lie! She E signing the documents. They could not provide me with the copy of the contract , it would have to be forwarded to us at a later time. Armando Zárate band Melissa claim that the internet was down ! Upon getting back home from vacation and printing the contract first thing I noticed it was that you only receive 25% discount. I immediately called to cancel my membership which cannot be done right away. They sent my request to their legal team! N my husband wrote down Melissa’s phone # and called her and ask why did she tell us that we could stay there for free when you buy a membership. She swore that she knew nothing about it, and she would contact her boss but he was out of town for a while. After that she never answered my husband calls again. I spoke to Carlos Negrete with the legal team. He said who signs a contract without reading I it to its entirety.? Well we signed because everyone seemed so honest and the internet was down. I told him to look the camera’s recording. He said they weren’t on the day we purchased. I told Carlo’s Thai was going to contact an attorney because Carlo’s stated that we couldn’t cancel. It was past the allowed 14 days to cancel. Carlos with uvc legal’s team also told me that my attorney needs to practice law in Panama where UVC is registered. These people are professional scammers and don’t care about anything but money in their pockets.

In a Nutshell; my husband was UNABLE to retire due to this unexpected incurred debt and We still have a a crappy, crappy, membership that does not allow us to travel during holidays, we are also restricted as to which resorts we can stay in. Please!Please! Don’t fall for any heartless scam.

Did not cancel paid off. Never used and filed Bankruptcy. They keep hounding me about fees. My contract was for 5 years which it ends this year. Lies and more lies is what this company is based off of. I wish I would remain a client...not.

Hi, we also got duped by unlimited vacation club! Im reading your post while shaking my head as this is exactly what happened to us. They promised us a free week that we could use immediately and put $5,000 down and financed the rest. When we came to book the free week about 6 months later they told us that it was unavailable and every year that we pay the monthly fee they release one day of the free week which means we will have to pay them the monthly fee for 7 years to release the free week! From what Im reading from you is that it isn't even free! everything that we were promised at the sales presentation turned out to be a lie. Have you started the class action law suit as we want to join and get our money back! Were so disappointed by the whole experience and how we were taken advantage of.

Hello everyone thank you for commenting and following my complaint. My problem was never addressed or resolved by unlimited. I received a phone call from unlimited and they said the only way to cancel my membership was to sign a contract that i would forfeit pursuing a refund from any money that I paid. They laughed in my face when I requested a refund as I never received any benefit from signing up or from being a member. Their only comment was that I only owed 1,000 and that it wasn’t that much money. Our vacation for next few years is ruined because I trusted these people.

This is not true nothing has been resolved I get phone calls from billing department on a daily basis trying to collect the balance no one documents my account and I have to explain everything that has transpired just to get the same answer, that they can’t help me. There has to be something we can do, it is unfair! Something has to be done! I’m willing to start a class lawsuit against Unlimited Vacation Club! If there is ever a class action lawsuit, we'd like to be included. Every story is the same, outcomes are the same. Bait and switch, we were given one speech but then when you actually try to use the service, the rates are outrageous compared to going through a travel agent . Hopefully someone picks this up and wants to sue them to stop them from continuing these shady sales tactics. Here's my email, count me in

If their is a class action lawsuit please add me to the suit, I contacted the the sales manager in Costa Rica 2 days via phone after I signed the contract to cancel the contract an was told by her not to worry that she would take care of it! That was June 23, 2021, I also emailed her a letter regarding cancellation of contract within the 5 days, the collection agency requested the information which I provided and they basically said that I could’ve draft the letter after the 5 days, My email, gilhernan63@gmail.com

I had the same experience this may 2021, and after few drinks and false promises, we sign a contract…bunch of lies…and now…have no idea of how to get my money back and terminate my contract…even spoke with the representative on my last day because I wanted out, and he told me, o think about it a it more, to give them a chance…all jus to let the 5 days pass and lock us in !

Still haven’t use any of the “benefits”…

And when it's time to make good on promises they tell you the rates said before are impossible and never given and that's that. I want my $5K+ back and some. I would also like to join a lawsuit. We were duped in December 2022 at Dreams Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. . I had my lawyer friend review the contract and because it’s in Panama it’s hard to sue them we would have to get a lawyer in Panama to proceed. But what he did say is that is very unethical what they’re doing and everyone should read the contract very carefully. Because if we were told on the day of signing that if you cancel you have to pay 50% of the cost price. That would have been a red flag for us not to proceed. We lost $25,000 in total and never had a chance to even book a vacation. This organization is a total SCAM. My email is arlene.uter@gmail.com

I would be interesting joining this class action suit as well. We were given many promises and when I asked for copies of the sheets they wrote on, they said all of it would be mailed to me within 10 days.
I received nothing and now am told I only had 5 days to rescind. Spoke with customer service, if you want to call it that, and she basically said we were just trying to get something of them.
They told us we would be given the Gold package for the price of silver, we would be able to come to Secrets 365 days a year no exclusions, and all it would cost us is $65 per person per night for all inclusive, honeymoon suite and above, always ocean front. No additional costs. Now I’m told all we get is 25% off the cost of the room. That was a lie.
I was also told we would would get 7 free nights to stay at any secrets resorts. Then when you received the contract, it says many of the resorts are 2 for 1 (two of the free nights equals only 1 night at certain resorts like Secrets the vine). I soecificallasked if we could stay at secrets the vine, honeymoon suite ocean front with those 7 days and no additional cost. and both Christian Moreno and his manager Mario, said yes, no additional cost. Another lie.
These people lied to us with their promises and then I was told that I would be sued by them if a said anything against them. Biggest scam artists around.
It is classic bait and switch by promising all types of things and then not delivering when you get the contract. They deny everything when you calm for help! RUN, don’t walk, away from them!

Can anyone please explain how these complaints got resolved? This company likes to hide and say tried to get a hold of them and couldn’t. Julian Pat Ricalde who is a disgrace and with quality assurance called us rom his neighbors cell phone and told us we had to call him because the office phones were down. But then that number couldn’t take incoming calls. This company is a snake and needs shut down. They have not resolved anything ever.
