I am contaacting you prior to the filing in United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, Tampa, Florida of my lawsuit against Tractor Supply Company for violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act and Florida Stature 413.08 and 413.081 Florida Service Dog Statute. - Today at 1:42 P.M. as I was entering the store accompanied by my Service Dog there was another customer at the cash register with a "Pet Dog" That dog reacted and when it did my Service Dog did as trained and placed herself between me and the other dog and did bark a warning to the other dog. I then proceeded to the rear of the store where an employeed helped load the bags of feed I was there for. When that employee and I returned to the check out counter the other person with their dog was still there visiting with Teresa (the cashier). At that point Teresa, the cashier told me that I will not be able to return to the store with my Service Dog and loudly told me that my dog is not a Service Dog because my dog barked. Teresa then refused to check me out on my purchase and the other employee had to step in and operate the register under the sign in of Teresa. I am a 100% Disabled Veteran and my Service Dog is recognized and permitted to acompany me in the Veteran's Administration Hosital, Clinics, and Doctor's Office. I have never been tlked to or treated in such a manner at any Tractor Supply Store by any employee and as Teresa continued her attitude and vocal comments as I was checked out by a different employee I must advise you that the lawsuit I am filing is in direct response to that treatment and statements of your employee Teresa. FYA I am a retired attorney and I do not waste the Court or my time with frivolous complaints and I believe that a lawsuit at this time is justified to bring this to the attention of the corporate offices.
