I would like to formally express my concern regarding the ongoing decline in cleanliness standards at multiple Tim Hortons locations in Sudbury, Ontario.
For years, I visited Tim Hortons regularly for breakfast. However, over the past two years, I have consistently encountered the same issues across every Sudbury location I have visited:
Tables and chairs left dirty, requiring customers to clean up other people's mess before sitting down
Washrooms in consistently poor and unsanitary condition
A general lack of upkeep that does not align with the standards Tim Hortons has historically maintained
This is not an isolated incident at a single store. It has become a pattern across the city, and it has reached a point where I no longer feel comfortable dining in your establishments.
As a long?time customer, it is disappointing to see such a noticeable decline in basic cleanliness and customer care. I am bringing this to your attention in the hope that these concerns will be taken seriously and that appropriate steps will be taken to restore the level of cleanliness and hospitality that Canadians have come to expect from Tim Hortons.
Recommendation: Be prepared to clean up other people's messes, if you want to sit at a clean table.
It’s not just Sudbury, alas. I have experienced the massive decline in quality, cleanliness and service in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
It has been steadily worsening since Tim’s was sold.
I’ve lost count of how many locations I’ve tried in Quebec and Ontario (only one in NS).
Worst experience has been at the location in the Marriott Bonvoy lobby in Ottawa (employees arrived late, opened late and had only the previous days baked goods and had just begun making coffee).
To be fair, I don’t drink their coffee anymore because it’s horrible; it used to be great.
