Tim Hortons Toasting bagels

A very mild complaint: When I order a TOASTED bagel, it's because I prefer it to be toasted. When I order toasted products during busier hours, I find that my bagel is barely toasted. By barely I mean slight toasting on the edges and NONE in the middle. I understand the need to move orders along, but if it is such an inconvenience to properly do what your menu offers, simply don't offer it anymore.

Tim Hortons Drugs in their coffee

I would just like to say that I think that tim hortons puts drugs into their coffee the only reason I say that is because All of my family member's and some of my friends just gotta go and get more and they just keep coming back and keep on going back and I find this really suspicious and I think that they should be closed down all over the nation frankly I hate all of tim hortons food and drinks. Like c'mon iced coffee or cappachino's like thats more dairy queen or Mc. Donalds If you people like tim hortons so much then worship them but I say they put something in their coffee that makes it so addictive sure people have told me oh maybe its the caffine I say it must be drugs, If you think you need coffee then go to wendy's or mc. donalds, not tim hortons anyways thats what I have to say

your totally right man! it's is extremely addictive! don't listen to the people who deny that, good for you speaking up! you think for yourself, that's good, unlike others that have answered. tim horton's is in the business of selling crack! the people line up around the block for their next dose! HIGHLY addictive, and they think it's normal to crave it first thing in the morning, because it's legalized in society... it's like any other drug, once your hooked, they've got you!

Tim Hortons service

Ordered a breakfast sandwich inside as drive through was busy. Waited 15 minutes for sandwich, after that all counters were free and there were no customers waiting besides me. Went up to the cashier and asked about it. She went to investigate and asked the sandwich girl if she made it, she said she did, so the first response of the cashier was that I must have taken it already. I didn't. Since I already "took it", they would not make me a new one or give me a refund. Yes I wanted to rip Tim Hortons off for a 2$ sandwich. Jeeeez.

3 orders, none of them right. I ordered chicken salad on a toasted roll& coffee in a mug with cream doughnut. what I got was egg salad on a cold roll, coffee in a paper cup, and a Bavarian cream doughnut.

my friends both ordered ham & Swiss sandwich without tomato.. guess what.. tomato on both sandwich. Neither of them toasted as requested.

you would think they would have got SOMETHING right!

I think you may enjoy this little story of my most recent complaint worthy expierence at Tim Hortons... I should start off by saying I am... well was, a frequent daily Tims customer (3x daily give or take.) That being said I think you can imagine how I had thought of their service before and that besides being falsely accused of harassing an elderly couple outside a location in my hometown when I was 16 by a manager, the expierences have been pretty good.

I along with several friends went to tims after the GSP (UFC 124) fight Saturday December 11th 2010. I placed our orders, swiped my card into the POS machine and did my thing before giving the system back to the employee. As she is standing there in her own little world the machine is beeping like CRAZY, getting a little annoyed, I tell her that she needs to press the 'Ok' as that is what the system is prompting her to do. STILL nothing, so I point to the OK button on the POS system and say you need to press the button! No sooner do I this the Lady working the drive through comes swooping in and goes nuts saying that she'll have me charged for tampering with their equipement and how dare I touch their machine (she also mentioned biting my finger off.)

All of this being said, I would like to know when pointing suddenly constituted as touching, seeing as how after I handed the POS system back to the employee no physical contact between it and myself was made.

I can assure you that I will NEVER go to Tim Hortons ever again. I have never been more embarassed or outraged in my life.

@Laura0786: You didn't have to wait until the line was gone to say that you did not get your sandwich. It may have been possible that someone else grabbed your sandwich with theirs sitting on the counter as well. They definitely can't say at no to something you didn't get. You would have been out of the store if you received your sandwich (unless of course you were eating in) and wouldn't be asking for a sandwich you didn't get. Just wondering: where was the manager or supervisor when this happened? Did you bring it up with them?

@goughe: Even if the lady on drive thru is a manger or supervisor, they don't have the right to say that you will be charged, especially if you didn't even do anything. This is when Tim Horton's needs better training.

I'm terribly sorry for your experience. But as a Tim Horton's employee i would like to say that you do not know how our system works. Debt/master card/tim card transactions at Tims go through automatically and cashiers do not need to press a "ok button." It is you, the customer that ensures the success of the transactions. Now, i know that in your compliant you stated that you swiped your card, but most systems recently have been switched to chip and i was wondering if you had inserted you card instead. If so, the machine might have been beeping because the transaction has been completely, and it was just simply reminding you to remove your card. The card must be removed for our machines to receive your information. If you are unsure of what to do, please follow the instructions on the pin screen. Also, our machines do fail at times, and again i apologize for your inconvenience. If this horrible experience do happen to repeat itself, i suggest that you press the cancel button if possible, and ask to repeat the transaction again.

I am truly sorry for your troubles and we would love to have your business again.

I have worked in a similar role previous to completing my post secondary so it pains me to say this but I don't believe they use common sense or even think for that matter, why would you lie about not getting a 2$ sandwich? You REALLY must have nothing to do with yourself if you are going to sit at tims for 15mins after eating your breakfast so that you can lie and say you never got it. Lol where's the logic in that?

This past Saturday (the 11th of December) four of my friends and I went to Tim Hortons after the GSP fight, we got to the front of the line, I placed our order & swiped my card in the POS system. The cashier stood there in a daze trying to figure out what to do next as the machine was beeping continuously. I politely told her she needed to press the ‘Ok’ button for the transaction to go through and she still seemed lost. I'll admit I was getting a little impatient with this, and I couldn't really leave as I had technically not paid yet as the transaction hadn't been finalized. I pointed to the machine and repeated that she needs to press the button confirming that the transaction is complete, as soon as I do this her co-worker/the lady working the drive through swoops in & goes balistic on me saying she’ll have me charged for tampering with their equipement and how dare I touch their machine.

SINCE WHEN DOES POINTING CONSTITUTE AS TOUCHING?! No physical contact was made after I put my pincode in to the pos system and handed it back to the lady working the front.

I will NEVER go back to Tim Hortons. I have never been so embarassed or outraged in my life.

Tim Hortons Coffee grounds found in coffee

On May 4th, 2010 I ordered a coffee black with 2 sugars from Tim Horton, s in St.-Lin laurentides, Quebec. I got my coffee only to discover that while taking the last few sips, there was a substancial amount of coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup, I almost choked on it before spitting it back into the cup. I went back to the Tim's in St-Lin where I purchased it from and showed them what I had found, and told them that I should get a replacement for this, which at the time they told me they were not able to do that. They made me pay for another coffee. I was very upset about this and will not go back to a Tim Horton's again, as this was not the first time that this has happened, actually it's the third time, it's to bad because I really enjoy my Tim's coffee, but not any more, and I will tell everyone I know not to get their coffee from Tim's, as I will go else where in the future for my coffee. It's sad to see a franchise like this one not care or do the right thing by the customer.

There is only one Tim's in St-Lin Laurentides, where I live, now I will have to go out of my home town to get a coffee.

I would like some sort of response from this complaint.

thanks;

Tim Hortons Rims already rolled up

I believe that about 80% of the Tim Horton's coffee I buy during the roll-up-the-rim-to-win contest have already been rolled up and checked. It is easy to tell...if the spot where the writing is is looser than the rest of the rim...it's obviously been looked at.

I would like to see Tim Hortons investigate how many prizes are won by employees and their families compared to the general population.

Being a regular timmies drinker I can confirm for a fact that this is happening in winnipeg at 1 location for sure and out of close to 100 coffees I have purchased over the span of 45 days this year since the competitions started I won ABSOLUTELY NOTHING which got me suspicious as in previous years buying 2 coffees a day I would win quite a few free coffees and donuts. And so after taking a closer look at the rims before rolling them in consequent cups sure enough the rim looked busted and clearly has been rolled up. Now this past weekend I have gone on a trip to alberta and won on 4 out of roughly 10 coffees over the entire duration of the trip. In conclusion something shady is cleary going on and after a second call and complaint to the customer service department i was advised that it is actually up to the individual store owners to call me back to rectify any issues as they are "independent owners" and that perhaps i should call the store... so I figured I'd try that however the store owner never bothered calling back. the store is the 1146 Portage Ave location.

There are constantly creases where the roll up writing is here in Winnipeg too. Also at more than one location. It is really obvious. You can easily see it. Stop so viciously defending people you don't know Timmieserver. I hope you lose your job for berating the nice folks commenting about their experience with this contest. By the way, I don't eat donuts, don't drink coffee, only tea and couldn't really care less if I win a free anything or not. Just disgusted by the shady behaviour of whoever is rolling them up and Tims falure to do something about it.

Losers always complain! If its not timmies, its the casinos, lotto ticket frauds, bla bla bla! Just because you don't win a stupid coffee or donut ( which you might not need in the first place!) Stop blaming without facts! Store employees have so much ### to do.. without standing there to F#^$ roll up cups. If you complain so much why don't you go drink a coffee at starbucks, Mcdonalds or Subway!

I agree and think you are 100% right. I have the same problem in Brampton, On and for those of you who said it is like that so you can roll up the rim easier why is it only like that at this 1 location that I go to? Not to mention they can never get my order right at this one place as well. I think this location at Steeles/West Dr in Brampton is corrupt! Tim Hortons Sour ice cap

Went through drive thru ordered Medium Iced Cap. Immediately after I left it began to separate. I stirred it tasted it & it was a little sour and very strong on the coffee. I tried tasting it hoping it would taste different as I continued to stir and it continued to separate. Within 10 minutes it was totally separated and very dark. This has only happened to me once before, I love iced caps please try to get to the bottom of this problem which occurs rarely. Thanks

Tim Hortons Customers

I work for a Tim Hortons store and for the most part I am content with the job. But I feel there are a few things that need to be addressed to the grouchy customers who never seem to be pleased. I hate my job when people like that come in, and yes, I fume about it for a few hours after you leave.

In my opinion I give excellent customer service, I am nice to all the customers even if they are yelling in my face I am fairly good and getting orders right but sometimes I make a mistake and have to fix it. I think the mindset of some customers is that "server" means "servant" and we have to cater to your every single need. That if we don't get every demand they have in a quick enough time or as perfectly as they want it that they have the right to scream in our faces or call us "stupid" or say we "can't do anything right". To people that say that kind of thing to ANY server is just wrong. We aren't your slaves, don't treat us like slaves.

If there is a line up that is moving slowly in the store, usually the employee is just as pissed off as you are because usually a slow moving line means they are working alone and understaffed (not their fault). They are under pressure to take the order and make the order for each and every customer.. and a lot of the time the order is fairly large with donuts and drinks included. Funny thing is, people in the line usually aren't sympathetic for the employee, they just think that they are slow and stupid and can't get the job done. There are times where I have been bombarded customer after customer by complaints about how slow the line is moving and have had insults thrown at me. After a few hours of this, do people really expect the employee to be happy-go-lucky and ready for the next a**hole to scream at them?

Last thing I want to address is the abundance of customer complaints, and scarcity of comments. For my store, we are probably the fastest, cleanest, and nicest in the province, yet we still get more complaints than comments. I think the reason is that good customer service doesn't get you any reward or respect because the ONE time you have a bad day, or something happens, that's when people take the time out of their day to write a comment and send it to head office. I am sure that for most customers their experience has been a good one. If people want good service they should reward the employee that gives them good service. In my opinion that would motivate them to keep up the good job. Or at the very least, give them constructive criticism.. like "I think that your store could be a little bit faster if you..." "I like your coffee but maybe you can change..."
Don't just be like "I was in the line forever! Your employees are so slow".

Thats the end of my rant... my job isn't all that bad, because there are the few regular customers who are always nice and respectful who make my job worth it.

customers just have to complain about something. Just cause we are employees at a business doesnt mean we are not human as well and we do make mistakes from time to time. Also just because you see us "standing" around doesnt mean we dont see you there, there could be another issue being dealt with the staff, so cut the rudeness, if employees treated customers the way some customers treat employees no one would have jobs, some customers are just [censor]ing rude

Tim Hortons Rude service

Never really ate breakfast from tim hortons before, but decided to try it (The new bacon looked very good) all was pleasent the first time thru the line. When i received my food it was cold and not fresh. When i pulled back around, the greeter that was running the intercom went from very pleasent to rudely saying "pull around" after i told him that i just ordered a combo and my food was cold. To makes matters worse when i got to the window there was never an apolige, the lady open the window and handed me another bag with only a hash brown in it?And it was just as old and nasty! Needless to say 1st and last time ever stoping at that location for breakfast! With every company struggling for every customer i cant believe how i was treated. . . I understand mistakes happen but its how we make them better that will win over a bump in the road

Wow! that would really piss me off so much that i would PARK my car and walk into the restaurant and ask to speak with the manger. (i have done it) Let the manager know what happened and tell him its unacceptable and its not what "customer service" is all about. After all you are a paying customer and you are intititled to having fresh and hot food for your money. Not cold crap...and i would also ask for my money back and take my service else where!

Tim Hortons Health food violation

I had ordered a black cooffe and bagle at a Tim Hotons' Drive thru on Herring Cove Road @ 4:45 pm on Sunday March 21, 2010.
As I pulled up to the drive thru window area I see the cashier feeding a Tim Bit to a dog in the Frod F150 truck ahead of me. The dog then licked the cashier's hand and she petted him. The truck paid for their coffees and left.
I pulled up to the window and the same girl then proceeded to hand me my coffee and food. There is no way she had time to go to a washroom and wash her hands before handling my food and coffee. When I said something to her, she stated dogs are clean.
There is a reason health laws do not allow pets in food serving facilities. Reaching out through a window is not an exception to the rule.
I did not accept the food or coffee and left.
I have seen this type of ignorant service before and I am personally getting tired of it. If they can not follow the health laws, at least the basic ones, then it is time to switch coffee sources

Tim Hortons Hot chocolate = hot water

I ordered a hot chocolate on my way to work (12 hour shift) and didn't drink any until I got there. When I took a sip, I came to find that I just had chocolate flavoured water. The hopper was empty and the employee filling my order didn't even notice. Since it's a 15 min drive to work from the Tim Hortons I could not return the order until my shift was complete. (I cannot leave the property on lunch breaks either) So I threw the stuff out not giving it a second thought.

Once my shift was complete I returned to the Tim Hortons I had purchased the Hot Chocolate from and told them what had happened. The girl behind the counter asked "did you keep the cup?" I replied I had thrown it out at work and did not keep a dirty cup for 12 hours. She informed me that I must keep the cup and "Hot Chocolate" to confirm that indeed I had recieved a bad drink. I told her it was impossible to keep a full cup of dirty water for 12 hours where I work.

Needless to say I did not recieve my money back nor did I recieve a replacement hot chocolate.

Never returning!

Good [censor]ing lord. How do you expect the employees to believe you're telling the truth. You were, yes, and this wasn't your fault and yes, you deserved another cup of actual hot chocolate. But for all the employees know, you could be anyone trying to get a free drink. They don't memorize every customer who came in. And anyway, 12 hours? Seriously? C'mon, you can expect to come back for your correct order 12 hours later...most likely the new shift has begun anyway. Ridiculous request, sorry. Please don't ever return, we hate customers like you.

Tim Hortons Treatment of employees

I have been working at tim hortons for two years, and this will definately be my last. I am trying to find a job with 40hrs a week, with the shifts. Tim hortons employees do not get treated like humans.
First off, I have worked for two locations, in two different provinces.
First location I worked with, I loved most my staff and customers. I actually enjoyed my job, although there was sometimes times that made me mad; that's a job. You aren't always going to be happy with it.
Then, I moved to a different province. Because it's a different province, I had to get re-hired and went back to minimum wage. I am on drive thru window 5 days a week, 6am-3pm. I am not bragging, but I have amazing customer service. I treat every customer with respect, even when they really don't deserve it. I get two un-paid breaks during this 9hr shift (One 15minute, one 20minute) which is really all I need to get a little snack.. But when 3pm comes, and I am off.. The person to be on window for 3 is counting their till. By the time they get on the window, it's already 3:10ish. Then it is time for me to go out back, and count my til to be at the set amount we start out with. After I count that, I have to count all my money I have made that day, write out my voids (Any why they are voids), fill out a sheet saying how much we made (How many $5, $10, $20's we have, mastercard and timcard amounts, ect) and then once I am done of that, get a manager to double count everything. This process takes about 30 minutes. So, it is now 3:40, and I am schedualed to be off at 3. I really wouldn't care, but the problem is.. I stop getting paid at 3:15. I work for about half an hour for free, five days a week. Thats 2.5 hrs a week, which is 10hrs a month. If I walk out at 3:15 when they stop paying me, I get fired. Because I am on window everyday, I get [censor]ed at for not going "fast enough" when our times aren't good. Yes, we get timed of how fast we can get you through. So, when you don't have your money ready, are slow, and order more at the window.. That is why we may roll our eyes at you. Although I don't (I survive by tips basically, and need them).. It does frusterate me.
There is a lot more, but I must go to bed. Work tomorrow, then job hunting. I really need to get out of this [censored]hole.

At store number 2146, I had asked an employee to speak English a few times because it is an English speaking environment, and customers don't necessarily appreciate hearing another language, also, not all employees can speak Philippino language either. So, Brian, was making an issue about it and saying that I am "racist ", and started telling other employees to stay away from me because I am "racist" all because I had asked him to speak English, and to keep privet conversations at home. Now, Brian is not the only one who speaks a second language on the job, but it is management and supervisors as well when there is a sign on the side of the wall saying "English please". What can I do other than filing a complaint about it. Also, any non Philippino employee, weather they are Canadian born Caucasian or native, Scottish or Bolivian, get less hours as the Philippino staff get more hours.

i work at tim hortons in the UK in the manchester branches and the only good thing i like about tim hortons is the staff i work with, our area managers asks us to cut labour but then expects us to do the extra work then complains thats we cant keep up. they expect 2 people on till when that would mean the speed of service and lobby be affected or we wouldnt have anybody to put the food in then they complain about those other items. its 1 or the other with this company and its really getting to me now. not only that me and another manager have been over paid by 120 which meant more money to tax and pension then they offered him 6 months to pay it back but only gave me 1 then refused when i asked for the same treatment as my other manager. this company its slowly failing and is going to run itself into the ground.

Customer 223, Tim Hortons
On 2277 Riverside Dr
Restaurant #1842

Monday at 9:04 am, Jan 14, 2019
I asked to talk with the manager after I tried to warn the cook 👩‍🍳 who displayed -muffins, bagels, donuts -Without gloves or paper .
The manager agreed but he didn’t even try to warn the cook about the issue even he saw the client is unhappy seeing to touch every single piece.
The cook replied that he’s washing his hands and is not necessary to wear gloves.
I am not really happy with the service. I believe they neglect the clients and are inconsistents they can spread germs anytime. I will never buy from this store again.

The location I work for in Edm. AB Canada off 184Street. The store manager is rude, pretty much called me Fat and that I wear to much make up. She yells at the white people in front of the customers. With minimium going up I asked why my hrs. being cut all she said is I'm to slow. They just hire a new forign worker and not so good. They will be losing customers if she keeps on yelling. I take pride in my job and love my customers. The tratment toward the Canadian workers not right.

I worked for Tim Horton's for the 10 years in 2 different locations.
I was always on time, always with a smile, always in full uniform, I became a supervisor, trainer i was afford a managers position.
I quit Tim Horton's took some time off.
After a few months I tried looking for another job on my resume I put that i worked at Tim Horton's at Bayshore mall and when I tried to apply for other places to work I was denied work because of a bad performance review from someone at the tim hortons at the bay shore mall.
I dont understand my performance was great and i believe who ever gave me the bad review was wrong.
Who ever is at the Tim Hortons at Bayshore doesnt know me because they are all new employees so how do they know how good my performance was.
I cant get a job because of Tim Hortons and I need a job before I have nothing left and out on the streets.
I am thinking of going to social media with this i have a bad name now and i didn't do anything wrong.

Unfortunately Supervisors at Tims treat you like crap. Today, my supervisor screamed at me because I couldn't make 15 sandwiches, 3 soups, 4 wraps and 2 salads in under 5 minutes. Instead of helping out or pitching in, she just leaned back on the counter and started screaming at me, saying that I was an idiot and didn't know how to do my job. Then after she yelled at me for 10 mins, she shoved me and told me to GET OUT OF MY F*KI@G WAY! GO! GET OUT MY WAY!...I'LL DO IT MYSELF FOR F&*KS SAKE...JUST GO! ...so I stood back and asked her where DO YOU WANT me to go?...and she told me GO ANYWHERE! GO TO HELL IF YOU WANT! She then said I was a complete idiot, and she finished the sandwiches herself. She went on for 10 mins, saying that no one knew how to work, and she was the only one who knew what to do and how to do it. and if she wasn't there, the store would fall apart because we were all [censor]ed. By the way, I've been working there for 3 years, never been late and never called out sick - ever. I'm also one of the fastest people on the table. She's been working there for 1 month and spends most of her time bad mouthing employees and playing with her cell phone in the back, she's also late most of the time, and calls out sick on the weekends. After 3 years, today I put my headset down and said ok I'll go, goodbye and I walked out. A word of the wise, for anyone who works at Tims, there are better jobs out there and better people to work for. You don't have to take abuse from anyone, that includes the people you work for. Love yourself enough to leave.

Tim Hortons Poor service

Today I experienced very rude service at the Tim Horton's close by my office.

I approached the cashier and they did not even acknowledge me, rather nodded her head. I asked for 7 x $10 give cards and the person just turned away and walked off. I asked someone close by if they understood (language barrier) and they said yes. Someone finally came by did not look at my and started to process the cards while talking in hindu to another 5 people behind the counter. The manger (I think) just handed me the cards and walked away !

Where were the professional greetings? - Hello, how can I help you today?
Is there anything else I can get you today?
Would you like to try our new XXXXXXX with your order today?
Thank you please come again

ETC...

Just because you hire sub par labor does not mean that they can forget to be polite !

Omg I'm just confused by the response! So now we can blame costumes for the poor costumer service we get at Timmy's now...wow... Unprofessional I'm hoping this isn't head office responding to this complaint ... If so! Take responsibility for your employees, or franchisees... Unbelievable! If you can't put your issues aside and take care of the costumer service part of your jobs, then you shouldn't be in costumer service... I've been in costumer service all my life and I now own my own business, I have bad days but my costumes have never or will never see that from me... They get all my respect and even when they aren't giving me respect, I still give it to them... I had a few complaints myself, but what's the freaking point, nobody seems to care. I spend 280$ a month a Timmy's and I think I deserve to be heard...

You probably did not receive the best service, yes. But forgive the employees as they deal with 100's of [censor]s everyday and being nice can be hard even if the customer is pleasant. As for the suggestive selling, we are technically supposed to do that but like mentioned above, many customers get pissed off that we're trying to sell you more stuff. And seriously, were you SO offended that you didn't get a "Thank you, come again"? Most customers don't even bother to crack a smile, forgive us if we find it hard to reciprocate. Not to place any blame on you, you were not at fault. But the [censor]s ruin it for everyone, unfortunately.

I agree they should have been more friendly and greeted you, it's no excuse I know, but it could have been a rough day (again, no excuse, I understand).
As for the "Hi" and "Would you like to try" and etc etc, recently a co-worker at Tim Hortons got FREAKED out on by a customer for offering a doughnut/cookie/muffin. It was so bad that Tim Hortons (that location anyways) wrote a letter explaining what happened, and sure enough 2 days later head quarters contacted the location regarding it. The general manager sent in this letter that was wrote (and signed by the other workers, and 2 other witnesses) about how the customer had yelled at the kid calling him a punk and telling him to shut up while the manager tried handling the customer, and how the parents should smack him and teach him manners (I promise you, he was nothing less than patient and polite with the customer!). Head quarters later contacted them and thanked them for the letter, and that the customer was banned from all the local Tim Hortons for his complete inappropriate behavior.

I guess it bothers me that people complain about Timmies, but never think of how many ridiculous customers we get sometimes? I'm not complaining - we get many more wonderful regulars or "newbs" than we do the rude ones. But it just shows what sort of 'crap' the employees get too.

I do apologize for your bad experience though. Many aren't bad, that I've ever been to! (And I'm not just saying that cause I work at one now :) )

Tim Hortons Treating me like a slave

I have worked for a few different Tim Hortons across the country and never in my life have i been treate like I have at the one in Westbank, BC. I have worked there for about 3 months. The first lie came when they hired me to be the baker and that never happened. I am a very good worker and the co workers I worked with always made it clear to me that I was, But the morning of November 3 2009, I was alone in the front of the store from 12:30am until 5am all alone I got everything done that I needed to do and then at about 4:15am I got a huge morning rush. The supervisor came in at 5am and said that I must have stood around all night because none of the stock was full and the floors were a mess, keep in mind that this is the busiest store in central BC and I was completley alone. I was doing drive thru and counter by myself . I was treated like I was stupid. I was put on graveyards temporarily or so I thought. I requested to go on day shift because of family issues they told me it would not happen there is lie number 2. I was due for a review and they did not intend on giving to me until the new year. That is unfair everyone is entitled to their benefits and raise after your 90 days. I would definately say that if you can get a job in the fast food industry Tim Hortons is NOT the way to go. They say in there add that they have flexible shifts ###. They do what souits them and remember if they have family working for them it is so much worse. THey are all about them to hell with the employees that they are not related too. I will never ever in my life work for them again. Nor will my husband he quit because of the way they treated him they treat their good employees like ### and the bad ones do know wrong. So if you have any dignity or respect for yourself you will never apply at a tim hortons.

hi there! I have to say i completly agree with you and i have to say i find they are evn worse with the student employees! the one i worked at was in (Hanmer) sudbury, ON and they also treated me like slaves and i stayed later some shifts since we were short staffed ALL the F***g time! they never gave me my raise, and i was initialy hired for cleaning with the condition that within 3 months maximum i would be at store front. 6 months later, after i handed in my resignation and treathened to quit, they FINALLY put me store front and agreed to change my hours. WORSE of all i had ask for a leave of a month until my exams would be over since i was dealing with alot of stress and was falling a course due to the extentive hours they booked me to work and all the owner had to say was "learn to live with it!" i was "let go" a month ago reason being that i had served a bad coffee since i had a nagging customer who refused to wait till the decaf would finish brewing (keep in mind i was at counter and drive thru was supposed to do it since counter wasn't busy enough for decaf) and so i served him what had finished brewing. I watch the video in witch the manager told me the customer claimed i was rude to him, obviously a false accusation since my mom even looked at the video and u can't even see any sign of this! All this to say that tim hortons are way too worried about what the communitee thinks and they forget that the employees they treat like ### are the ones that have friends and familly who, shockingly enough ARE PART of the COMMUNITTEE!

Thats really too bad that you had to go through that. I worked for them for years (faithfully) 40+ hours a week. I have never been treated worse in my life. I didnt get a review until I had worked there a year and a half, and then it was only ten cents. And I was a hard worker that knew the store inside and out and always performed my best and showed up for shifts. Never mind the emotional and sometimes sexual abuse that happened everyday.
You will find something better and deserve it!

Tim Hortons Denial of order

I went to Tim Horton's this morning to get some breakfast (in a rush I left my own on the counter at home). I went into a store I passed everyday and ordered a tea and a plain Croissant toasted with lite cream cheese. This is something I've ordered many times at other Tim's. The girl at the counter stared at me so I repeated myself. She then tells me that they don't toast croissants. She looked about my age (19) and newer then the other so I politely asked if they had one of the large rotating toasters. (I will add that I used to work at a Tim Horton's for over a year and I even became a trainer, I know what can be done, infact I had toasted a croissant many times over and even made sandwiches on them.) So the older woman comes over and the girl explains that I would like a croissant toasted. This older woman tells me again that they don't toast them. I was a little agitated but stayed polite and explained that if they have the right toaster that it will be no problem and I even told her I used to work at a Tim's. Thats when she changes her excuse and says that they don't do it because they are a "high traffic store". Really? What Tim Horton's isn't? I worked at one with a drive through near a GO Station. (This was just a walkin). The other thing that came to mind was, "You toast bagels!" There really isn't much difference. Anyways, I got the croissant but not without obvious attitude and a snooty remark exchanged with the bagel girl (While I Was Standing There!). I tried to find a head office site to complain to, but couldn't find one and therefore vented here. Thanks for listening. If this happens to you, don't let them tell you otherwise.

PS. The tea wasn't stirred.

I purchase 2 medium coffee every morning and today decided to turn my rollups in for 2 coffee and 2 donuts. Each rollup stub clearly showed coffee and donut. I advised the attendant taking my drive thru order I had 2 coffee rollups and 2 donut rollups. When I got to the window the cashier refused my stubs claiming they required the complete rollup. I was astounded they refused to give me my order. They claimed they required the complete rollup. Once again I politely said please look at the stubs because each clearly shows coffee and donut. I was now _issed. The supervisor finally said we will give you one coffee and one donut as a good will gesture. CAN YOU IMAGINE TIM HORTONS STOOPING THIS LOW. **Thankyou you Tim at Hwy 15 and Innovation Dr. Kingston**.

I work at a Tim Hortons on night shifts and just tonight I had a customer come in and ask for a toasted croisant. I politely said sorry that we arent allowed because it catches fire, however we can microwave it. The customer then yelled at me and said during the day the managers do it for him. He went as far as to take my name, and told me he's calling head office and he'll make sure I lose my job. Can he really do that? My co-worker who was with me even said we couldnt do it. I've worked at two other Tim Hortons and we were told we aren't allowed to toast them.

Cheese Croissants are definitely not supposed to be toasted, unless of course, like @badbedhead mentioned, you have the right toaster it can't be done. Cheese Croissants CAN be made on a sandwich, but just not toasted. The way you were treated though was not right. They should have clearly explained that they cannot be toasted because they burn and can catch fire.

Hey I work at tim hortons and were not allowed to toast cheese croissants because it will catch on fire and even melt and possibly get stuck in the toaster. And I tried toasting it for the customer and it just melted and went on fire in the toaster so instead of toasting the cheese croissant i just microwaved it its same thing as toasting it lol.

there is two types of toasters in tim hortons. I've worked at 4 different ones. There is a good one that can toast croissants. But that is only in like 1 out of 10 stores. Most owners are too cheap to buy amazing equipment.

p.s. I had a shift where the new girl tried to toast a croissant. I've never been trained to put out fires but now I know. You can still see the burn marks on the side of the toaster. That fire was nasty.

We're not allowed to toast croissants. Maybe when you worked at Tim Hortons, you were able to toast croissants. We are no longer able to. Or maybe your manage just didn't care and allowed his/her employees to toast croissants. Do you really think the employees will tell you [censor] for the fun of it? We don't make up the goddamn rules, so don't give us [censor] about it. Just because at some other store you were able to so and so, doesn't mean the employees at another store can do the same because we follow OUR managers rules. The croissants do burn even on the fastest setting, and get stuck in the toaster and completely catch on fire. I know new employees who have done this mistakenly. There IS a big difference between bagels and croissants. Bagels are wider and harder. Croissants, when you slice it have a lot of air pockets and burn. Hell even if a small piece of bagel gets left behind in the toaster, it catches on fire.

P.S. It's no wonder your tea wasn't stirred.

Really, they catch fire?
I have to admit, I've never heard of TOASTING a croissant, we heat them on occasion in the microwave but have never toasted them. I guess we would, we give the customers what they want, no matter how strange it sounds lol.

Tim Hortons Argument

visited tim hortans yesterday afternoon for the first time.when i entered there was an employee having a argument with a costumer. the employee was being very rude and abnosioux .and was asked to shut up that he was being very annoying and needed to chill out. the employee became very angry and picking a fight with the elderly man saying he was going to come over the counter and knock him out. pointing his finger and swearing at the man. i was very shocked and disturbed by what i was seeing. that is no way to talk to a costumer. that is totally wrong way to act when working with the public. what a first empression to visiting the store. that employee should be repromanded for his actions.

Tim Hortons Wacko worker

When visting tim hortans store last week. There was a wacko man named dave working behind the counter. He was very loud and annoying. He was making all different kinds of voices to answwer at drive thru. Telling people that the coffee has liguid crack in it. This was very disturbing to me and im sure everyone else who comes in contact with him. I will not be returning to there anytime soon. That is very poor service to have to listen to something like that. The manager and owners should be embarressed to have someone like that working at here place of business.

Tim Hortons Verbal and physical abuse

I worked for tim hortons starting june 2008 shortly after that the verbal abuse started when I asked the owner if management was entitled to our tips.Ed Zaparanuik replied no from there on Lynn our assistant manager, stareted with the verbal abuse. She talks behind staff members back has no regard for our times at drive thru.Chantal pointed out times were important, Lynn one day yelled at me in front of customers that they were not.For instance talking behind staff members back I'd come back from a break Jen approached me and say "Lynn was askin where the queen bee of drive thru?".Jens reply "who's that'", Lynns reply "Nicky(Nicole)".So the verbal abuse cotinues, I asked my manager Darlene to help fix th problems with no action taken.I approached the owner Ed nothing was done, so from sept. 2008 to april the verbal abuse continued.Again I approached Darlene our manager she said "she was ###ing sick of this ###". and that Ed's wife Sandy would come and talk to Lynn and I. April 7th I was workimg drive thru when our creamer ran out, Iwent to the back Lynn was fixing a broken creamer. I went to put my container down LYNN DECIDES TO PUSH ME SO I PUT THE CREAMER DOWN AGAIN SHE PUSHES ME AGAIN. I asked Lynn what the problem was.She replied "there's no room to do 2 creamers her." I replied "since when". Also the baker Marshall was working and witnessed this, I then went in Darlenes office and explained I've had enough of the verbal and physical abuse . I went back to work and when my shift was done I wrote a incident report. I took Darlene's word that it would be taken care of. Sandy, Ed's wife would come talk with us, NEVER HAPPENED! So 2 months later a customer came thru drive thru in the mornin which Lynn was working.Later in the day the customer came back and asked to speak to our managerto make a complaint about Lynn. After that for no reason I was hauled into the office S ANDY FINALLY MADE IT TO TALK TO ME ABOUT 8 MONTHS OF ABUSE!In 1 hour I was to make a decision to quit or transfer stores, OF COURSE I WAS IN TEARS.Iwas obviously upset and in no state of mind to make a clear decision so I agreed. I WAS IN TEARS FOR MOST OF THAT NIGHT WHICH IS VERY UNFAIR TO MY 3 YER OLD DAUGHTER THAT I WAS STILL UPSET FROM THE WAY I WAS BEIMG TREATED. The next day phoned and made a dr. appointment which he suggested stress leave, my Dr. then decided it was in my best interest not to return to work for the same employer who owns all 3 stores in Prince Albert. I finally received a phone call from CHANTAL THE DISTRICT MANAGER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED SHE SAID "I SHOULD GO TO THE R.C.M.P.". I was shocked I waited patiently for some action to be taken and ther has beem none.I was in TIM HORTONS WHEN THE VERBAL AND PHYSICAL ABUSE TOOK PLLACE WHY WOULDN' THEY HAVE TOLD ME THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE?This is just a portion of the 8 months of abuse. I pray that any one would not have to work under these conditions thank you.

Same thing happened with my sister, one of the supervisors treated my sister bad, he swore at her, sexually assaulted her etc. She told the managers but they didnt do anything about it.

Tim Hortons Bee in coffee

I ordered tim bits but had to exchange them because they were hard and stale. The tim bits that were given to me next had a fly on it, that too was returned. Then while finishing my coffee I looked at the bottom of my cup and there was a huge bee at the bottom of my cup. When I told the manager she was very rude and gave me my money back, I told her it was not the money, she replied "what do you want me to do?"

What DID you want her to do? Did you show the manager the bee? 'Cause if you didn't you could've just been anyone trying to get free stuff or something, as far as the employees and manager knew.
