I had ordered an XL coffee this morning before work at the Grand Ave. Tim Hortons in Chatham Ontario. I placed it in the cup holder of my car and by the time I had driven 5 minutes to work coffee had filled the cup holder. I couldn’t understand why as I hadn’t even opened the cup yet to drink it. When I lifted the cup to inspect it I noticed that the entire seam of the cup was coming unglued. The cup itself looked old and the bottom was wrinkling like it was saturated in moisture. It leaked hot coffee all over my lap. When I got to work, I couldn’t walk with the coffee. I placed it on the ground in the parking lot and ran to grab a mug to salvage what coffee was left. While holding the cup before placing it down, all the red dye from the cup itself stained my hands and bled off the cup all over me. Two people in the parking lot saw me struggling with the hot coffee as it ran down my hands and all over the pavement. They offered to help with napkins. I managed to transfer what little coffee was left into a mug.
I have the two witnesses names recorded. I also have photos. It was no small miracle that I wasn’t severely burned in this unfortunate incident. I trust that you will compensate me fairly so there will be no need for media coverage or litigation. Please respond promptly to my incident.
