I visited the Target physical store at 879 Blossom Hill, San Jose Oakridge and noticed an Apple Watch Series 11, 46mm, GPS + Cellular, advertised for $429 - a regular promotional price for that model (the same price I had checked on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Watch-Smartwatch-Aluminum-Always/dp/B0FQFJ2G7R/r).
I asked the store rep to bring me one, and he retrieved a sealed box. I had no reason to be suspicious, as Target is a large and reputable retail chain in the United States, and the box was identical to the original packaging. I completed the payment at the register on 03/19/2026 at 11:45 AM and headed to my hotel, from where I then went to the airport and opened the package in Brazil.
When I opened it, to my surprise, the screen was completely cracked. But what I also noticed was that the design was that of an Apple Watch Ultra (not the Series 11 I had purchased). The Ultra has a distinctive orange side button and a slightly more square appearance. Worst, the band is for Apple Watch Series 10.
When I picked it up and felt the plastic material, I realized I had been scammed.
I searched online and found a Reddit post documenting multiple victims of this same scam. However, I am already back in Brazil and have no way to contact the store, as they simply ignore these types of requests. See: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/comments/10wjvlx/counterfeit_apple_watch_from_targetcom/
I am therefore requesting a chargeback, as I have no practical way of returning to the United States to make an exchange, and I am left with a broken piece of plastic that I paid $429 for.
Claimed loss: US$ 429,99 + 9.375% on tax = US$ 470.40
Desired outcome: A full refund on my credit card plus an original a Apple Watch Ultra 3 [GPS + Cellular 49mm] sent to my house.
