Synchrony Bank Credit limit lowered

I applied for Car Care about 6-8 months ago and was given a credit limit of $1400. I use LESS THAN 30% of the credit limit and ALWAYS pay it off. I received a letter dated May 11th saying that my credit limit went from $1400 to $250. I had a Chevron Texaco card with of less than $1000 credit limit, lowered the credit limit to $350, paid it off, mailed me the overage and then closed the account. Synchrony is ruining credit scores while people are trying to improve their credit. What's the point in extending credit to consumers and then lower the amount extended, ESPECIALLY IF PAYMENTS ARE BEING MADE ON TIME AND BALANCES ARE BEING PAID OFF? These credit card companies needs to use someone else to extend credit because Synchrony is HORRIBLE!

I only recently got a Synchrony Preferred Card with a $1200 credit line. The first time I used it I charged $600 or so in some camera equipment. They immediately dropped my line to $750. If they didn't want me having a $1200 line why did they give it to me. I suspect the business behind this card is high paranoia. I wouldn't have applied for a card with a $750 line so I'll I'll pay this off quickly and stick the card in a drawer buying a yearly pack of gum. I can't send it back or close because it will hurt my credit if I do. The worst part is the bank never sent me a notice as to what they were dropping my line or why. I could have been trying to pay a co-pay at a hospital after an accident never knowing my line was dropped.

Same thing happened to me with synchrony. Now they keep saying my closed account is past due every mo th, so i take a new hit each month. Suckers.

Synchrony Bank Synchrony closed my accounts

I have 2 accounts through Synchrony Bank, one for Lowes and the other one for CareCredit. I recently opened up my ENT account to get some of my debt taken care of, so I wasn't familiar with how the account number was supposed to go in, so me not knowing I put the last 2 digits of the account number at the end, I had no idea that this would become an issue. I had submitted a payment on May 4th for my Lowes payment, logged back in there on May 5th saw that there was a balance still due, so I submitted another payment. Logged back in there on the 10th saw that there was a $77 balance so I paid it. I had no idea that the payments had gotten rejected until I logged in a couple days later to make sure that they posted. I didn't receive any notification, email, phone call, or anything stating that my payments had been rejected. Same thing happened with my CareCredit account I made a payment on May 10th for the full balance, once again I didn't receive any notification that my payment had gotten rejected due to them not being able to find the account, I found out once I logged in on the 15th, I saw that the payment was rejected, I immediately resubmitted payment with the correct account information for my ENT account and the payment was processed on the 15th for the full balance. I immediately fixed and resubmitted payments for the full balances and my accounts are still both closed. This is not fair in any way shape or form and I wish that Lowes or any company for that matter DID NOT use Synchrony Bank as their go to because they quite frankly suck to say it in the nicest way possible.

Synchrony Bank SYNCHRONY / CARECREDIT Credit Card

SYNCHRONY / CARECREDIT erroneously charged a late fee of $30 and reported it late on my credit report. They are gaming the financial system to arbitrary charge these fees despite a customer making a payment in the month it is due. When I called them they said that the payment that month was applied to the previous month. Please refund my $30.00 late fee and correct my credit report. I have perfect credit until I began a financial account with this untrustworthy company.

Synchrony Bank Multiple credit cards

I had a really good relationship with synchrony bank. I have three different credit cards with high credit limits had them for years never been late we went and bought two new trucks for our business and of course, with interest rates as high as they are these days I shopped with multiple banks to get the best rate on both trucks after doing that on every single credit card synchrony Didn’t even send me an email I went to use my cards and they all got declined called synchrony and they lowered my credit limit one card 7800 to 280 second card $9000 to 230 and third card $10,000 to 3250 which Only reason they lowered it to that was because I had a that as a balance for a 0% for 12 months offer. When I called to ask what happened they told me due to my credit report, not having a real estate account which my house is paid for and multiple inquiries. They classify me as a high risk even though I’ve been with them for years none of my payments are late and my credit score is in the upper 700s One of the worst banks I’ve ever had will never do business with them again.

Desired outcome: to have future customers take their business elsewhere

After opening a new Lowes c/c funded by Synchrony bank , I charged 519.00 dollars which I paid off within 1 week. I needed to use the card again the next week but the payment although it had cleared my bank was not credited to my account,despite the payment showing as paid on the cc account. Synchrony decided to withhold the credit payment from my cc account for 20 business days.They have no real explanation except,”That’s policy sir” . Well Synchrony ,it’s my policy to make sure I never ever pay you a dime in interest too! My advice DONOT GET A SYNCHRONY SPONSORED CREDIT CARD. THEYRE LIKE THE MOBSTERS OF YESTERDAY!

Synchrony Bank Care credit card

I had a Card Card thru Synchrony Bank for some time. Some time in 2022 this card was changed to a Care Credit Mastercard. I had continued to make payments to the original Care Credit account - never notified in writing that payments should be made to Care Credit Mastercard. Synchrony had been accepting payments under Care Credit and transferred to Mastercard. February 2023 I made a payment on 2/8/23 of $315.00. Synchrony transferred payment to Mastercard for the $315.00. I called and questioned this posting and was advised at that time the change made to account. When I advised I would make changes to my banking direct payment I thought all was resolved. Synchrony then proceeded to post two more payments for $315.00 each on 2/8/23 to the Mastercard account and in turn posted two Adjustments (Merchandise Sale) to my other Care Credit account resulting in a balance due of $630.00 instead of zero on this account and balance of $2,365.00 on Mastercard #6284.

I have called at least twice a month to Synchrony to try and resolve and they keep telling me that the matter is being looked into and they will get back to me within two months. It has now been close to three months without resolution. I have been told not one representative can handle since it is over two months and handled by different departments. Totally upset at this time since I was told in February no interest charges or collection actions. That is a total lie since they are adding interest plus calling my cell phone average 3 to 6 times per day. Please I have nowhere else to resolve this issue.

Desired outcome: I would like the disputed postings removed resulting in me having only the Care Credit Mastercard # 6284 with a balance due of $1,450.00 and Care Credit #0579 with a ZERO balance.

Synchrony Bank Care credit account

I have contacted Care Credit at least 6 times and have requested a copy of a statement for a closed account that I had. Purchase was made on December 28, 2013 to Auraskin Care for $1500. I never used the service, and now I'm wanting to, but Aura needs proof that I paid. I did receive a copy of a statement, but it did not have Auraskin Care on it, only reflected a payment that I made. I called again several times and was told they mailed it to me. I have never received it. They have confirmed over the phone that they have access to it.

Account number is [protected]. It is closed and it's under the name Melanie Marsh. The statement that I need is dated January 12, 2014 which shows a purchase to Auraskin Care.

Can you please assist me with this? I am very frustrated.

Synchrony Bank Kawasaki loan though synchrony financial

I am writing as a last resort to resolve an issue I am currently experiencing with a Kawasaki Loan at Synchrony Financial. We have a SXS loan through your company, and we are currently trying to get a statement with current status and payments made. This was a last minute request from our mortgage company, and is required in order to close on our home loan on Monday, May 1st. 

Despite the numerous attempts we have made to contact your team, the financial company, and the 6 representatives we spoke with yesterday gave us one response telling us your company does not offer online services, we will not be able to receive an email or a login because it doesn't exist. Not only that, they told us they could not send it or email it. The only options were to mail it in 10 business days, or fax the payoff amount (which we don't need) in 3-5 business days. 

I did some research and your CEO was quoted in Forbes saying that, "We are a digital company". How is this possible? Your team told me yesterday to contact the Better Business Bureau if I had a problem with it. I highly encourage you to pull the recorded phone call both myself and my husband had yesterday with 3 of your supervisors. 

This delay could potentially cause us to miss our closing day and incur significant financial losses. We are asking you for a digital copy of our payments that we have made. Something that everyone in America can provide. 

We are anxiously awaiting a response and resolution to this issue.

Synchrony Bank Refund

I paid off my credit card with Synchrony, only to find out that I had accidentally overpaid the amount due. Synchrony has not issued a refund for the overpayment. I have contacted them on two occasions only to given excuses and blame the postal service for not delivering the check. Checking with the Postal Service shows no record of any mail from Synchrony to my address.

Desired outcome: Issue a refund in the amount due.

Synchrony Bank lowes card credit limit decreased

I will never recommend this bank for credit. I made on time payment did not max out my credit only used 20 percent. My credit score dropped because of them. i also have sweetwater credit card with them. Made on time payments on that card also. They lowered my credit from 1500 to 400 dollars. So that hit my credit report my score dropped again. this the only bank that has lowered my credit score for being on time weird!

Desired outcome: class action lawsuit this should be illegal!!!

Synchrony Bank sams club

I have been a customer for a long time now and have been using b2b payment methods. its so hard to get payments respected and reflected on your account. Ive sent in security after security certified mail with return receipt. I have not been able to use my card in about two months really hurting my business flow. I have a balance that im not able to touch. I need access to my card ASAP. the payment in question was never delivered to the facility after looking up the tracking number. That is not my fault. Per Federal Mail Law once its in the box on its way to this company that is discharge of debt.

Synchrony Bank Credit cards

Received an email on Tuesday April 4th informing me that my Rooms to go Credit card which has a zero balance was closed due to me being high risk. I believe this a high risk person is determined during the application phase of obtaining a credit card and not after obtaining a card. At this time I decided to look at my Ashley Credit card that I also have with Synchrony bank and found out that this card too was closed without my knowledge. No reason giving for that. Both of these irresponsible and inexplicable decisions from this bank has caused my credit score to suffer thru no fault of my own. Both of these cards were in good standing with zero balances on both of them. So the reasoning for their closure seems very suspicious and unethical. It would be different if I had high balances and were delinquent in payment, but in this case the opposite is true. Apparently, I find out that I'm not the only victim of this Banks unethical practices, I find out that there are literally thousands of upset formers customers who are going thru the exact same abuses.

Desired outcome: I want the points that I lost from the closure of these cards thru no fault of mine restored with the credit bureaus.

Synchrony Bank Credit card accounts with synchrony

I have had Synchrony Bank as a creditor for a number of my accounts for many years. I was exploring the Synchrony Bank website and noticed that three of my accounts have been closed. These accounts included CareCredit, PC Richards and Midas. I also noted that I have literally never missed a payment. Nor were my payments late. I called Synchrony and they were unable to give me a definite answer regarding my closed account. My concern is that I now have to suffer because Synchrony closed my accounts. I worked really hard to restore and maintain good credit throughout the years and this incident reeks of racism.

Desired outcome: I need Synchrony Bank to restore my accounts. I'm also requesting letter that states that the accounts were in good standing when they were closed.

Synchrony Bank Synchrony Home account randomly closed

My Home card was randomly closed stating future likelihood of no payments. I have had this card for about 5 years, in addition to a Care Credit card for even longer. I have never been over limit nor have I missed a payment. My credit score was lowered because of this, and customer service transferred me to a "manager", and then the call was disconnected. I will look for every location to which I can submit a poor review.

Desired outcome: Reopen my account w/o another credit hit or need to reapply.

Synchrony Bank Google account closed after just being late on payment!

I was late on the payment. Maybe twice The second time I was late they closed my account. I paid the late fees and it wasn't like I was super late. It was like a day for two late. Ridiculous. I can't believe that. Isn't it the whole point of having a late fee being late? I understand being weak months late and closing account and that's ridiculous too. But I mean this is just a couple days. The only reason it did that is because it was auto pull out of my account and then have the money in my account and I tried to paint it on another card and I and it's ridiculous. I can't believe this company

Desired outcome: Reopen my account. I pay my bills in time. My credit score looks great. I hope it doesn't affect my credit account

Synchrony Bank Synchrony Bank closed my account without cause

Hello, I see that I'm not the only Synchrony Bank customer to be treated unfairly. Today, 3/23/23 I was advised by Synchrony Bank that my Sweetwater Music card that I have held in good standing since 2015 was closed without prior notice of any kind on 3/22/23. The reason; I submitted my usual monthly payment early via their website, but in error clicked in the drop down box using an old checking account that I used to pay them with years ago. I never deleted that account as I obviously should have. I NEVER received ANY notification from Synchrony Bank of this error. My only notification was from the bank in which the previous account was drawn from. THEY sent me an email stating that a withdrawal was attempted in the amount of $32.00, but they didn't state who the withdrawing party was. By the time I figured out the source and made the correction; Synchrony Bank had already CLOSED my account after 8 years of perfect payment activity; none late. I called today and was told they were happy to accept my over the minimum payment, but my account is still closed.

Desired outcome: My account should be reopened fully as it should not have been closed in the first place. I'm sure it's too much to ask for an apology.

This JUST happened to me and customer service was of NO help. I actually caught the error within in minutes of submitting the payment. I tried to delete the payment and the system was not cooperating so I immediately redid the payment with the correct account and they said, "unfortunately" there's nothing they can do once its closed because I had return payment(s)...with an "s". She told me they sent a notice that the payment was going to be reversed but NEVER that my account was going to be closed. And they still cashed the correct payment. It makes no sense.

Synchrony Bank (home) credit card

My synchrony home account ending in 9852 was closed on 3/20/2023 bringing my credit score down. My account was current and I did not have a payment scheduled until next month (April 9, 2023). On March 8th I had a payment scheduled to be taken out of my bank account for 100.00 which is over the monthly minimum payment. Due to a clerical error on my part, my payment was rejected. I immediately contacted the customer service department through chat support on their official website to notify them that the payment would not clear and I also rescheduled the payment to be resubmitted for the same day. I also asked the agent if the account would be closed and if she could help me to prevent any additional fees on the account she reassured me that everything would be fine and she would note all of this information and if and when the return payment fee was posted to contact customer service then and the chat was ended. Today I received a notification that my account has been closed and it is very upsetting. I was lied to and no one within the company seems to care about my credit score being impacted or the misinformation provided by one of their agents. I doubt that anyone even reviewed the notes on my account verifying all of the information above. I have spoken to 2 managers and around 4 customer service reps throughout the day and I have gotten nowhere. I hope this will help them to see the error in their ways. This is unethical and unprofessional

Desired outcome: My account should be reopened and all credit bureaus be notified. My credit score has been impacted by this and the account was current and was not over the limit.

The same thing happened to me. I had a Verizon credit card through Synchrony Bank. I purchased a furnace on the credit card and paid the balance with the new Apple savings account. I typed in the wrong account number which rejected the payment. I called customer service to let them know the issue and they assured me there would be no penalty or late fee as it was in the current billing cycle. I received a letter dated June 30 that my credit card had been canceled due to "high risk failure to pay". When I called customer service I was told that they received their information from the three credit bureaus and I was a high risk. I believe the customer service representative I talked with closed my account as my credit is always around 790-805 and I have never missed a payment or been delinquent with any of the accounts. Synchrony Bank also had to send me a refund check because I had overpaid on my account. I would like to know who closed my account and what the justification was especially since my account had never been delinquent. Synchrony Bank is high risk failure at customer service.

Synchrony Bank Site login constantly fails

More often than not, it is impossible to log into my account due to:

We're sorry. We have encountered a System Error. Please navigate to the login page, and try your transaction again.

This has persisted for MONTHS. I have managed to get into my account probably 4 times in a year, with weekly attempts. This is unacceptable.

I cannot make payments nor can I see my balance, nor can I even manage my account. I will never take a loan through this incompetent bank. I am just waiting for the one time I can log in to pay this thing off, and I will finally be done with this excrement.

Synchrony Bank Synchrony closed all of my accounts without warning

Synchrony just closed all of my accounts today. Most were paid down to $0 and all ahead of payment schedule with no late or missed payments. In fact Synchrony had just increased the credit limit on several of these accounts and the oldest account was over 8 years old. I called customer service who could not share any helpful details. But the last agent I spoke to said a physical letter to this department "might" be able to share why.

Synchrony Bank I don't need their credit.

I have a few accounts with Synchrony Bank. All was well until my credit hit a small glitch. The credit issue was resolved and everything is on the upswing. The credit issue wasn't even with Synchrony. The have closed two of my accounts that have a zero balance: Care Care and Electronics express. I don't know what the deal is with this financial institution. But it is what it is I guess. I consider it a [censored] move on their part.

Synchrony Bank Terrible service

My beloved dog, Augusta had T Cell Lymphoma.
I was treating her with chemotherapy at Veterinarian.
Got Care Credit to finanace.
I told Synchrony I would pay in full at end of grace period.
After several treatments, without warning, Synchrony cancelled card.
Treatment delayed due to having to scramble to make arrangements.
Delay resulted in my beloved babies death.
I discussed this with Synchrony. They could care less. Rude.
Now they attacked my credit.
This Care Credit card is for medical needs, not a toy, or a washing machine. This was a chemotherapy need to fight cancer.
Synchrony has an incredible amount of complaints against them.
I am looking at legal action against this abysmal organization.
Warning: Avoid this Synchrony Bank at all costs. Make sure not one of you credit cards are connected to Synchrony Bank. Store Cards for example.
File complaints on them for every occurrence. Be clear.
Since they already attacked my credit, I have little reason to play ball with them.
You were warned.
