Norton wrong shipment

Gentleman from India installed Symantec 360 for me after learning I have Parkinsons disease and tat my hands don't work properly. Beforehand some mistakes were made in ordering which I assumed were cancelled after getting 360 installed!

Lo and behold my Mastercard, acct. no.[protected], was charged $69.98 and $64.54, reference nos. 3zsnmvoo and rtzzs000 respectively! I already have the 2008 update in the #360 series installed automatically for me and need to return and receive credit for the two items mailed to me!

Please confirm receipt of this explanation and authorize return of the two itrms in question! Thanks!

Norton renewal without permission or knowledge

I was charged for a Norton Annual Renewal on my credit card. I have no knowledge of giving you permission to charge my account for this action. Please contact me for removal of this charge. I no longer have that computer. I have contacted my credit card company on this transaction and wish to remove the $63.59 that was charged for this.

I haven't used Norton or any Symantec products for three years and my credit card expired. They pushed through the charge without
a) getting my new expiry date
b) emailing me before or after the charge
c) sending me any sort of download for whatever product I paid for.

Not only bad business, but fraud, in my opinion.

My credit card was billed 70, 01 on June 30th for a renewal fee for Norton Antivirus without my personal authorization. I would like to receive a complete refund ASAP of the fees charged because i have a message saying that my subscription for virus protection has expired, which means that i've paid but am not protected.

Norton unauthorized charges to credit cards

I want to encourage everyone who has been VICTIMIZED by Norton (Symantec) to report the activity to your respective State Attorney General's Office. They are responsible for investigating and taking action against these types of crimes. Most of the state AG's have online complaint forms.

***Florida's AG's online form (copy and paste): http://myfloridalegal.com/Contact.nsf/Contact?OpenForm&Section=Economic_Crimes

If everyone makes a report, maybe something will be done! Good luck!

MY NORTON BILLING INFORMATION

I specifically opted for No Automatic removal last December 2019, yet Norton renewed my subscription without my consent.

Tried to contact them but in vain.

For an IT company like Norton and Symantec they have made contacting them online or through "CHAT" next to impossible. You simply get the run-around

I ordered on line Norton Internet Security 2009 - Renewal and extended Download Service. Total $68.98 on Dec. 19th, 2008 and used my Visa to pay for it. I was downloading it - I don't know if I did it right, but --- I keep getting E-mails that in 22 days it expires. I made a copy of the E-mail with product Key - Serial number etc, as proof that my Visa was charged with this. Please check and see why the E-mails and is it downloaded?

I did not authorize Symantec to charge my credit card $39.99. I have NOT used Norton Antivirus in two or more years, so I am not happy with the charge on my account. Please credit me the amount charged to my credit card. What gives a company the right to automatically charge someone's credit card without contacting the person to validate or authorize the charge? That is completely unethical and illegal.

I have a charge of 62.14$ on my credit card for "Norton Annual Renewal" that I have not authorized. I have not been using this product for some time now. When I call the number on my statement, I get a nifty message telling me how important it is to keep the product, then when put on hold, they play the most annoying music to dicourage you from holding the line. There is no way of reaching them. How do I go about getting a refund and avoiding such a scam in the future?
And I thought that nortaon would be a trustworthy company!

I was charged twice $ 99.99 by Symantec for removing a virus from my pc and charged $ 139.99 for removing a virus and for an annual renewal fee which I didnot agree to. I called Symantec and talked to a customer service rep and he agreed that Symantec did owe me the money. I asked them to send a fax to release my funds but was informed that this company does not fax.

we received a charge of $194.84 for a Norton Annual Renewal charge. This charge has been done by an employee on their corporate card, but the employee has been terminated for over 9 months and we don't have Norton on any of our computers. We have cancelled the card but the bank tells us that because it is an annual charge, we need to call you guys to stop it. I have been trying to call you but I have have been on hold for 3 hours and 8 minutes and still have not talked to anyone.

Will someone please contact me to discuss these charges or please send me a contact number that has people actually taking calls on.

Thanks much!

I previously (2007) purchased Norton Anti-virus CD and installed on personal computer. Was not on automatic renewal program. I purchased a new Dell Inspiron* 531 S
PC late 2007 and purchased Norton Internet Security 2008 and installed from CD on new PC. My VISA statement shows a $52.74 charge on 03/17/08 . If that is for Norton 2005, I don't have that program any longer, nor do I have the PC I installed it on. I believe my Norton 2008 Internet Security Suite will not possibly expire or need renewal until late in 2008.(One year from my download and installation of norton 2008 in late 2007.)

I was not told the chg for anti virus was 66.98. After reading all the complaints I have decided to inform the appropriate state dept. for an investigation into false charges to credit card accts. for this service. I ws told my antivirus was to be haft the cost of the above charge. I have also notified my creit card of this chg and am now filing a hold so an investigation can also be done by the credit card company as well as our state communications department. I also reccomend all others to follow this path if you feel you have been scamed.

Norton product does not install properly

This is what I wrote in response to their "customer satisfaction" survey:

Oh yeah, I can tell you what DIDN'T work for me...

I purchased Norton Internet Security 2008 from you on June 18th. My order number is *************. When I click the "download your product" button, the product downloads and then installs the previous trial version I had on my computer. I have completed this process about seven times so far. It downloads, installs, and then "Your trial period has expired" is displayed on the old Norton program interface. And I cannot find any evidence of the new 2008 Norton Security program anywhere on my computer.

I have uninstalled the old trial version a hundred times, but as soon as the new 2008 version is finished installing, the only program available is the old, expired one! I have tried every avenue of troubleshooting. Your "help & support" link advised me to download Symantec Licensing Troubleshooter, which I did, and double-click on the SymLMTS file, which I did, and then follow the on-screen instructions, which I did. The instructions instructed me to put in a 25-character product key into those five fields. Well, in case you haven't noticed, the Norton 2008 program only comes with a 19-character product key. So that doesn't work.

I have tried calling you people, emailing, using the help & support chat service, everything to get this goddamn program up and running. But every single freakin' link DOES NOT WORK! Not even the survey link you sent me in this original email! That doesn't even work! So then I tried to get into my Norton Account (which I created when I first purchased the product) but the system claimed to not recognize my password. Now, I KNOW THE PASSWORD I CHOSE FOR MY NORTON ACCOUNT BECAUSE I WROTE IT DOWN AND I AM A RESPONSIBLE, ORGANIZED PERSON, WHICH IS A LOT MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR YOU PEOPLE. But, nevertheless, your idiotic system didn't recognize my password, so I clicked on the "forgot your password" link and the system promised to email me a new, temporary password, WHICH IT DIDN'T. I tried to create a new password about ten times, but my Norton Account never sent a new password to my email account. So that doesn't work, either.

And then I got to thinking... If you incompetent, lazy, irresponsible, sloppy ###s can't get your website and its links in working order, then what does that say about your products? Why should I believe that the product I purchased for fifty bucks is anything more than a poorly written, malfunctioning, clumsy, half-baked program that does nothing more than confuse and bugger up my delicate computer. I hate you people.

So, naturally and obviously, I am demanding a full refund of the Norton Internet Security 2008 "Subscription". I demand and expect my VISA to be refunded as soon as you have finished reading this email. Again, my order number is *************.

It's been a goddamn nightmare dealing with your company and it's software.

Sincerely,
Angry Consumer.

Having experienced the nightmare of NIS2005's even worse release of Symantec's so called AV, I vowed to 'never again use Norton products' (having more problems than it ever prevented, constantly needing NIS re-installs, causing I think more issues w/in the OS than it ever could have prevented, no support, etc., etc., etc.), it was only after trying other products and finding them failing in about the same respects, one of which was eEye's "Blink" that let me down (by allowing a USB stick's 'bar_311' trojan-virus onto my machine, which the nightmare continued when against my better judgement used the again hellish TrendMicro mand their online scanner to supposedly clean the machine and the USB stick (which it didn't and moreover it resulted in enabling the virus's trademark 'boot on & immediately right back off' routine, so that proved TM' sucked as well. Of course TM' refused to back up their online scanner's failure as they refused to even write back and they demand as most, a ccard before even speaking w/support. Thus after weeks of pulling my hair out, ie; countless hours of ueslessly seeking help, I figured out (on my own) how to go to the BIOS and disable boot from disk and then was able to do a complete system recovery. Again, no help from anyone (CNet forum and many other forums as well). So after the system format and re-install, I was still left with the infected USB stick and Norton's online scanner actually cleaned the stick. It was then I made the mistake of buying into the supposed claims that NIS had fixed their quirky software after 2005 and so I installed their NIS 2008. Aside from that I can't say anything good about Symantec's product. It slows down the machine to a crawl, interferes with iexplorer and video editing software mostly from what I can surmise by NIS's "pulse" updating aspect which can't be disabled (supposedly only the suto updates can be disabled, but once you miss either of the usually twice daily auto updates, the result seems the machine is plagued by not only incessant NIS warning popups on need to update, but it seems too that also the pulse update's are the cause of crashing my videop editor. Biggest annoyance w/NIS 2008 is the fact that in order to disable it, you must do so for each individual feature of the damned application (AV, firewall, EMail scanning, on and on and on, and if you use a password for NIS controls, well you know, just more needless exacerbation). NIS/Symantec, you product makes me want to puke. All I can say is just keep nothing on the OS that you don't care if anyone sees it, don't use your primary machine with a ccard, format & reinstall w/o any so called patches (that are bypassed as soon as their issued anyway) and just run your primary machine 'bare foot' and you'll be a lot ****ing more happier. Period.

Norton unauthorized charge

I recieved my credit card statement and found a charge for 66.98 on May 8, 2008. I called the credit card company and they said they thought it was for computer software and I should contact the company. The company does not have a telephone number listed on the charge nor can I find one online. The only identification for this company is the website listed on the charge and I can't find a number.

Thank you.

I have just noticed a charge on my bank that I do not think is authorized. I want to find out more about it. My husband and I have different computers, so I don't want to complain until I understand which has been charged for. I have had trouble with Symantec on my computer and canceled, but my husband has since bought a new notebook and has had no problems. However, the dates of (Symantec) purchase do not match either of our computers. I am wondering which account is being charged.

Thank you, Mrs. E. L. Hess.

Norton unrecognized renewal

This is a form of piracy or rico.I have paid twice for a byears subscription and it will not download into a new lap top. Along with pop ups that will not go away or keep coming to say i need to renew.I called the MOUNTAIN VIEW office [protected] in late sept 2009 to get put on hold for a india rep who after transferring three times in a 30 minute call says he will make a complaint # and fix the problem.NOT EVEN ONE courtesy call back in three months.I have emailed twice. When renewing my Norton antivirus software on 12 April 2016, I unknowingly and mistakenly ordered a second licence
20 May 2016 when I received my credit card statement, I emailed "orders@mail.norton.com" with a copy of my statement and asked to have the second subscription cancelled explaining the situation - no reply!
11 June 2016 I again emailed orders@mail etc asking how to cancel the second subscription - no reply
24 June 2106 I again emailed and no reply
I then emailed Symentec in Singapore - no reply

I have been working with 5-7 different Symantec "customer service" people to help get NAV uninstalled and reinstalled. In the past I could do this myself - but not anymore. I finally go to two different Level 2 Engineers. Using "gotoassist" I gave them access to my computer. The first engineer was almost done with his "test" when my computer decided to reboot and I lost him. The one yesterday, Nanda, did a bunch of work and then logged off.

Now my computer takes 7 minutes to load my few desk icons (this usually takes 10 seconds0, and it takes 2 minutes to open the recycle bin and another 2 for delete to execute. The call in number is useless, they only tell me why they cannot help me. The chat line is better but it usually takes 25 minutes on hold to talk to anyone and even if you give them all your case numbers, they want to start all over.

I cannot find a number for Symantec or Norton Corporate Customer Service and now I do not have NAV on my system and it runs slower than a turtle.

Norton will sell you a product that does not work. Then they give you the run around for almost two hours and want you to give them more money to clean your p.c... That is why you purchased the product to begin with, so you dont have to worry about your p.c... Then the ### will give you a web site and a connection code that does not exsist. I am tired of companies stealing from the consumer and I am not about to let this rest. I have and will contact all proper autharoites over this matter. People stop being ripped off! I am tired of being robbed from multi million dollar companies and its time we all woke up to this. Have a great fnnn day!

It is seemingly impossible to get through directly to symantec / norton to complain. I attempted to download first one program, order # [protected] 2 for $69. 99 on 8 / 21 / 08 and then when that wouldn't download, order #[protected] for 114. 99 also on 8 / 21 / 08. As i couldn't download these, i switched to mcafee and successfully downloaded their anti - virus program. Subsequently, i could find no way to get through to norton when they suddenly emailed me saying that they were charging me for the above programs as if they had been successfully downloaded. My attempts were repulsed with a rejection of my e - mail address. I had to consequently wait until i received my mastercard notice, which is supposed to have a vendor's phone number on it. Instead, i ago the email address not of symantec, but of some universal sort of complaint service. I need for these charges to be taken off my bill. I double paid for the last symantec i ordered on 8 / 2 / 06, order #[protected] (Symantec notified me on 2 / 8 / 08 that i had not yet downloaded it though i had tried hard at the time and eventually bought a two - year subscription, but in spite of the fact that i had in the meantime (Really almost simultaneously) bought a two - year protection, they made no effort to refund the money. (I am not asking a refund on the 06 order, just including it in the facts to show that norton / semantic do not seem to know what they are doing.) i don't intend to pay them money again for services i do not receive, for programs i cannot download at the time i order them. I would appreciate anything you can do for me in this case.
Thanks,
Ctr

Symantec Customer UNservice! Symantec double charged my account when I ordered an on-line download. Because of this, my mortgage check bounced. It took them over 3 days to respond and refund the money! Not only do they not provide customer service for complaints, they want to charge you $9.95 to talk to someone when there is an issue with THEIR product!? The 1-800 staff they have is absolutely incapable of understanding issues. Further more, the last 2 times I have spoken to someone about them paying my late fees, their computers 'suddenly' go down. You're telling me a company that makes their money off of making other people's computers safe doesn't have access to their own computer system? I have been trying to get this resolved for 3 weeks, and they will not respond. Now I have late fees and bounced check fees from all angles because Symantec made a mistake, and they will not resolve it.

I think, as a consumer, your more safe WITHOUT the Norton Pro-Virus programs.

Norton want a credit refund for non download

I orderd a Norton Anti-Virus which was prompted online since my factory installed was expiring 60 days after purchase of lap top. I gave all credit card info but when I tried to download, the download would not work. I may not have done it propertly -- but I am a senior citizen and I didn't need the stress. I sent an email the following day to cancel and ask for a refund onto my credit card. It seems I could not reply to that email address.
None of the websites or categories I find lead me to a place where I can cancel this order -- ONE DAY AFTER ORDERING. I want the credit now. My Symantec Order Confirmation # is #[protected]

On 1/5/08 I ordered PC jump start, instead of just renewing my excising Nortan subscription. When contacting tech to download, she said my computer did not have enough RAM. That was fine, my computer is old, I understood. She said a credit would be issued, so I went online and renewed my excising subscription. I have called and emailed all contacts I was given and no one seems to care. My situation seems so simple w/ easy resolution, credit me for a product I did not recieve. Nortan does not seem to care even though I continued to be a loyal customer. My initial case # was [protected].

Norton awful scam!

March 2007 I used a debit card linked to my bank account to renew Norton Symantec. That debit card was disabled in July 2007 and the number was no longer valid. My Norton Symantec 'virus protection' was due to expire this year on March 24th, 2008. I began receiving e-mail notices to renew. I had been out of town and decided to deal with it when I got back by 'updating' my account with a Master Card credit card instead of using the debit method.

Desperate for their money, Norton Symantec attempted 3 times in March 2008 to debit the $54.11 from my bank account using the old debit card number they had on file. Of course, the charge bounced back all 3 of those times because the debit card number was no longer valid.

On March 19th, 2008 Norton Symantec successfully debited my bank account with my NEW debit card number. I did not give them this new number nor did my bank. Somehow, Norton Symantec acquired my new debit card number without any authorization from me and took the money out of my account.

I have spent a total of about 3.5 hours either in their customer support 'chat room' room or on the phone with New Delhi 'customer service'. Each representative clearly states that Norton does not have my new debit card information. OK, then how were they able to charge the new debit card number? Not one person at Norton Symantec will answer that question. I have an e-mail congratulating me on my Norton renewal which shows specifically that they charged the new debit card number.

Where did Norton Symantec get my new debit card number? I believe they have hacked into my computer to do so and I am furious that Norton Symantec continues to blow this off.

Norton hacked into my bank account and stole the renewal charge!

After 3 unsuccessful attempts in March 2008 to charge an old dead debit card number Symantec had on file for me, they managed to hack into my bank account or computer, discover the new debit card number and charge money out of my bank account on March 19th 2008.

I have spent over 3 hours with Symantec "customer service" in the past 2 days. They claim they do not have the new debit card number. Then how did they use it to debit my account? Where did they get my new debit card number since neither I nor my bank gave it to them and authorized it's use?

All I know is they are now falling all over themselves wanting to put the money back in my account. I asked how they can do that if they do not have my new number? At this point I get more New Delhi psycho-babble.

Bottom line, Symantec denies having my new debit card number, yet they clearly charged it and I have an e-mail to prove it. What's more, they know good and well they stole money from me and do so from consumers all the time.

They are crafty corporate thieves and too chicken to provide customer service reps who can actually speak English and too uncaring to do anything but lie.

Symantec customer's have always shown their innocent and funny attitude towards their reps. answer to that question is (bank account number) which never gets changed even you destroy your old debit card you got charged automatically on your old debit card and in reverse bank charged it onto your new account considering this as a permission. I hope you've got answer but your comments sound very humorous to me by the way

Norton Anti Virus has decided that they are going to continue billing us every year for the rest of our days even though we now have a MAC and did not request automatic annual renewals. To solve this problem we went directly to our Charge Card company, filed a fraud complaint, and got a new credit card so they no long have our credit card number on file.
That seems to be the best way to stop this scam billing.

Norton fraudulent charges on debt card!

I ordered Norton Anti-Virus over the internet a year ago. My subscription was not up until january 24th 2008. On january 11th my subscription was renewed with out my knowledge. I was never asked if i wanted my subscription automatically renewed. I never received any notification before the 55.oo dollars was deducted from my bank account. Because of Nortons mistake i bounced checks. Also when i called norton i was put on hold for over two hours and then told it could take up to three days to get the money back in to my account. When i asked to speak to a supervisor i was told, "this office is the final point of contact".

I had the EXACT (dates are almost identical too) same thing happen to me. I have been on the phone with Symantec (and their reps in India who barely understand me or me them) three times and they can't even find a record of the charge! I have faxed and emailed a copy of my bank statement to them and still no reply. I did have "renew automatically" checked within my account details but I had gone in weeks before my subscription was due to expire and changed it to manually renew. And they still charged me, and weeks before it was even expired!

I am going to have my bank take up the fight now as this is totally fraudulent and I want a refund. I had planned to switch from Norton a while back when the "renew now" pop up crap kept coming up 2 months before my subscription expired.

I will never use Norton again.
