I sat at the drive they sign for about 10 mins last night and said hello. The sign was on. The lights were on. No one answered. I drove around to the window and a gruff woman opened it and said there's no drive thru and then shut the window on me. There is no sign indicating the drive thru is no longer used. Very rude. I went elsewhere, not that they cared. I used to go here a lot. Service is very bad now on the Steak N shakr by Cumberland Mall bear the Braves stadium.

The sandwich was a single with veggies and they were just slapped on it they were falling off it was a mess, our waitress after bringing our food had no interaction my glass set empty thru most of my meal she was to busy talking to a male customer to even notice, very disappointing visit, upsetting because we really enjoy the restarant Sherry stokes 1616 W Boulevard Kokomo. My food was cold. Especially the fries. Old and cold fries. So disappointed and somewhat surprised because of the amount of time I spent sitting actually at the window in the drive thru. I sat at the window for a good 5 or so minutes chatting it up with the server. I figured for sure I was waiting because they were actually making all the items fresh and made to order. I have no problem waiting a couple more mins. for fresh hot food and the server was very friendly and talkative so no big deal again the whole time thinking everything being made to order hot and fresh. Well it turns out the burgers were a cold and the fries which I was craving were very cold and hard for sure they have been done and sitting for awhile. The chocolate shake did hit the spot though. But I had to let someone know about my food. I thought for sure my extended wait time was because they were making new fries or something so major disappointment when I dug in and pulled out cold hard fries. So sad 😞. Then I was just wondering what all the wait time was for. 🧐

To begin with had to wait an inordinate amount of time to be seated, then to have order taken. Then we had to ask for napkins. Ordered milk shakes and the food was out before the shakes. Ordered chili and it came out cold. Ordered chili cheese fries and it came out with a cup of cheese sauce and beans on top of fries. Had to ask for silverware after food came. Six sets of silverware came just thrown in a napkin. Probable the biggest disappointment was with the manager. Asked waitress to get manager for us. When he came out he did not ask how he could help us or anything. I finally told he should be ashamed of of our experience and proceded to tell him everything that was wrong. He then proceded to tell me that he was perfectly satisfied with what had happened. I told him I was going to call corporate and he said if you call the 800 number it will just come back to me and I will ignore it. Just as another little bit of info the ladies in our group said the ladies bathroom was disgusting. Inthe early ninetys I was a manager with steak and shake and this would not have been tolerated. I am A regular at steak n Shake in Merrillville Indiana. The other night my husband and I went through the drive thru because we had our dog with us. I asked for a cup of whipped cream for the dog as he is use to getting a treat from Starbucks (Pup Cup), McDonald's gives him a bone, the bank gives him a bone, Dairy Queen has a pup cup, Culver's has a pup cup. All are free when we purchase meals and he is with us. So, when I asked for the cup, the young man had to ask the manager if it was ok and she told him only if I pay for it. Fine I'll pay for it! Anything for my dog. Well how pathetic on steak n shakes part. I paid 54 cents for literally a lick of whipped cream. Had to take a picture to prove how pathetic it was. I'm disappointed in the lack of customer service and the need for a charge for a little whipped cream. We definitely will think twice before eating there again.

Just now had a family of 5 ready to eat! We pulled up the the millersville, Maryland location and wasnt greeted at all but had no problem waiting. 10 minutes go by then 15, finally around 20 we pulled to the window and noone was in there computer was off. Pulling past the reasturant they seemed to be under staffed but not overwhelmed to the point of completly ignoring a packed (5 cars behind us) drive-thru. In our time sitting you lost 3 other cars and a family of 5's business. 8pm on a Friday drive-thru should be watched, just wanted to make yall aware of what happened. I visited the drive-thru as the Port Charlotte location last evening, approx. 8 PM. I placed my order and then proceeded to the window to pay. The gal on duty asked me to pull up to the stop sign and someone would be out with my order shortly. After 10 minutes, I backed up to the window and sat another 4-5 minutes until I could get the attention of a worker. The gal who took my order and payment then asked what was wrong? I told her I was waiting for over 15 minutes now for a 4 for 4 meal? She then said it will be up shortly. After another 8 minutes, I honked my horn, she came back to the window and asked what I needed, I said my order. She said they cook each order fresh and that it was coming up soon. I then got upset and told her to stop making excuses and tell me what was going on ... she then said they lost my order. 5 minutes later I received my order and it was wrong.
WHAT IS GOING ON AT THIS LOCATION?
We love Steak 'N Shake, however this place is a train wreck ... HELP!

They put cheese on my burger and I specifically asked multiple times DO NOT put cheese on my burger. Paid full price for something I can't eat.
The cashier seemed to have no idea what she was talking about and was very short with me. They seemed more concerned with what their coworker was doing later than taking my order. It took a solid 2min before anyone even paid attention to me.

Tonight at 9:00 my husband and I went to steak and shake, we sat at the menu board for 10 minutes without anyone speaking to us or responding when trying to order. We pulled around to the window and had 3 employees walk by the window, once again now acknowledging us. When someone did walk by again he yelled, can we order? There were already at least 5 cars in line behind us. We sat for another 10 minutes or so watching people work inside while we tried to get their attention. We eventually just left. While we circled the building to leave so did almost the entire line behind us. Once again, they were helping the customers inside and not handling the drive thru at all.
