After a long day all a family wants to do is eat their dinner and connect with each other. Tonight was no different. My husband my Mom and I went to our local S&S to do just that. There were maybe 10 tables taken, three servers, yet we waited almost 15 minutes to be seated. Because we frequently eat here we all knew what. we wanted. Husband goes to the restroom, Mom goes to the restroom... still no server. Fifteen minutes go by and a server walks by and says, "She'll be right with you guys. I thought she was following me out." Another 10 minutes goes by and she finally comes to get our order. She puts the pad on the table and begins to write out our order. At least another 15 minutes goes by before we get our drinks. My husband and I order chili deluxe with our order. That came out another 10 minutes later. Then 10 minutes later our food. (Which mine was wrong, just like EVERY time I order it. Even though I'm always specific when I order it) When the server delivered food she placed the tray on the table, which I held so that our food didn't fall on the floor. ZERO check backs, drinks sat empty for 20 minutes. When we motioned for our server to come back so we could get drinks she said she would be there in a minute... she never did return. I used to work for steak n shake... this store and buy the looks of the reviews ALL of them need retrained. No more than 3 minutes... check backs.. Prebus... Always use a tray... never set tray on a table... Steak-N - Shake you fail! The past year you've REALLY gone down hill...

cleanliness of store

1. the waitress (Wendy) kept picking at her ear, wiping her face with her hands, pushing and pulling her hair back and as I watched not once did she ever wash her hands. It grossed me out seeing her touching things people were going to either eat off or from. Very dirty person. She wasn't practicing good hygiene or sanitary practice.
2. I saw this fan up on a shelf, fairly large one, back in the kitchen area. It was On and cycling back and forth. When I put my glasses on and saw how dirty and dusty it was I almost got up and left. That dirt and grease, dust just blowing down on everything.
3. After I had put my glasses on I gave a good look at the kitchen. The walls and equipment. Filthy, dusty and greasy.
As I looked around some more and saw what I saw and worse, I made up my mind I'll never be back.
Give me Mcdonalds any day.

I have never been in such a nasty establishment as the Steak and Shake in Lake City, Fl. The floors were so dirty..not just dirt but wet napkins all on the floor, cup lids on the floor and crayons everywhere. One staff member was doing a pathatic job moping..but was just pushing around the trash. Only one staff on the cookline was wearing a hairnet. The rest had all of their dreads hanging all over the place. All the waiting staff was behind the counter pointing and talking about the customers...not waiting on them..but from the table we were sitting at we could hear them bad mouthing us and others. We had to ask for napkins..which seemed to be an inconvience for our waitress. Also asked for silverware..which never arrived. We asked for refills and they just walked behind the counter to talk. They had no customer service skills what so ever. At checkout wr were not asked about our service of how anything was. Instead we was told about how agrovated and how bad of a day he has had. We use to enjoy this resteraunt and visited often..but i can easily see this being out last visit.

I arrived at steak in shake in lake city fl, we had to wait for the table to be cleaned but that was no big deal, I asked for a high chair which I finally had to get myself, I had 4 other children with me, they didn't get no coloring pages, I had to finally ask another waitress an got them... my family an I sat there 30 minutes before we got any acknowledgement from anyone.. finally someone came over took our drink order I then told her we could go ahead an place our food order.. so all that was taken... 45 minutes later no drinks no nothing but people that came in after us got there drinks immediately.. we finally got up an walked out this place is ridiculous we didn't get no service an I will be sure to let everyone know what kind of place an experience we had an will not be returning... this place use to be so different but now it sucks... either hire more people or close the doors down

    The worst part of all of this is that my kids really wanted to eat here. I was so angry at my children for whining at them that i called them all stupid and told them they would go to be hungry. One of them started crying and I slapped him real hard and told him I wished he never was born that he was a disappointment. Now I find out someone reported me to CPS and that I may lose custody of all my kids.

customer service / wait time

December 8, 6:01 pm, left exactly at 7. Male who took our order was EXTREMELY rude. Hub asked him to hold for a second so he could get our orders and when he started talking, guy blatantly said ‘I wasn't listening since you told me to hold on'. Proceeded to rush my husband through his order like we were irritating him. When we moved up a bit, overheard a female give attitude to the car behind us through the intercom. We then waited in the drive they just under an hour. Watched 6 cars leave due to the long wait. There were only 6 cars ahead of us. No apology, nothing. And to top it off, we were missing a burger. Never written a complaint before, but this one was needed. Please hire a whole new crew! This is the first time I was hesitant eating the food because I didn't know what they were doing behind scenes. Horrible!!!

My boyfriend and I went to steak n shake on Miller lane. Once seated we waited 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We placed our food order at the same time as our drinks and waited almost an hour for our food. We both ordered cups of soup and we're supposed to get cookies with our meals. We never received these either. We had to ask for our soups which were cold when we got them, refills and utensils to eat with. Our server acted like everything we asked was unbearable to do. Never nasty attitude. The establishment was not busy and we never even got dirty dishes removed from our table. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there wasn't one on duty. Will never eat at this place again.

We love S&S & will continue to visit. However, the staff may need to practice on customer service. I went to use a coupon and I didn't realized t was expired(I didn't have my glasses on to see). I kept my same order. I went to pay with a gift card and it declined. I knew I had $15 And thought it would take off that amount and then I would pay the rest in cash, it declined so I paid cash 1st & then used the card for the rest and it worked. She crossed her arms & made a loud sigh waiting for me to get my cash. I know it was aggravating to her. I have been in her shoes, but it's not professional to show your disgust over something this petty. I was the only one in line at the time. I apologized and she said nothing to me and didn't look at me. Rude! I don't want anyone's job to be on the line but the Bowling Green, Ky location might want to do an overall customer service refresher course with their crew. This isn't the first time I have encounters this type of service there. Love your job or get a new one.

We walk into the restraunt. There were 3 parties ahead of us. They seat the first two. The next couple wanted a booth. So they said they would wait for one. Well we were next he just walk off from us. We waited then I had to aask someone to seat us. They did and guess what no server even stop by. After about 10 mins. I saw a server and a manager cleaning a table. So I ask them for a server. They called out to some guy that he had a table. He finally came over and took our order. My husband order a shake with extra light on the chocolate syrup. Well it wasn't. Very bad service.

On [protected] we visited the store in New Port Richey FL. When we ordered we were told the store was out of pickles, lettuce and after ordering chili were told they had no crackers.
We visit this store regularly and it seems to be going down hill.
Tables are not cleaned as they should be.
Only one employee, a young man who else name is Cameron was complaining about lack of product.
You should address this problem. We love Steak and Shake.

On December 3 around 6:00pm my family (a total of 5, 3 adults and 2 children) decided to visit your location in Snellville Ga, off of Scenic Hwy 124. You could say as soon as we opened the door our bad experience started. We waited to be greeted by an employee, we were looked at by many of the staff but never greeted. About 5 minutes later I saw that there was a list on the "host" stand with nobody there to put our name down I wrote it on the list. 10 minutes later we were finally seated. Our server said that he will be right with us to get our drink order, knowing that we waited 15 minutes to be sat I decided to start my timer. It took over 4 minutes for him to com back and get our drink order, thankfully we also knew what we wanted to eat so we placed our food order in too 5 meals for dine in and 1 for take out. 6minutes later we received our drinks and asked about our order. The server said he was going to check on it. 20 minites later he came back with our order. In that 20 minutes all the drinks at the table had been emptied and not refilled nor had anyone checked in on us. Upon receiving the food 2 orders were wrong and all of the burgers were over cooked and dry. When I saw the manager on duty (she said her name was Sahanna, older white lady withd short-mid length hair). She was extremely rude during our discussion and was putting blame on everyone else. Towards the end of the discussion she rudely said she will take care of our meal and snatched the check out of my wife's hand and walked off mumbling under her breath. My wife and I have been coming to this location for over 7 years, we know the service is sub par at best but this was just completely unacceptable. And the attitude received from the manager was disrespectful for any circumstance let alone a customer service based establishment.
