Standard Chartered Bank Investment into high yield bonds

Gd morning. i have been banking with StanChart for about 20 yrs now, have mortgage and credit card facility.

Last Aug, yr RM was marketing and calling me abt my account which wasnt maximizing my returns and suggested to invest into high yield bonds. We are retiree group wishes for safe stable assets/ return and have MYR assets, suggest to draw a USD loan to invest into china property bonds. i told them i dont like property sector, and perhaps can invest into bank bonds - yr head of product, Christine and Edmund told me otherwise. Sino Ocean bonds which they have sold a lot, was very safe. called me and pestered many times

I invested perhaps end Aug 2021, and never saw any daylight ! from 101 (which the bank took 2% comm), the bond is now 14 cent to the dollar. the bank bond is trading about 60 now. Guess what, stanchart suggested dollar loan has climbed to 4.74 from 4.15 when first invested. The treasury department shld be investigated or many of them shld be sacked. taking a dollar loan and invest in cyclical property bond, double whammy and gotten lots of people into trouble

i have since top-upped the margin 5x, the only update i gotten from Stanchart office is topping up, no newsletter and advise about resolving this mess. what kind of bank is this - scamming clients with losses, retiree groups have lost their fortune

I was also informed that the bank has withdrawn the LTV margin for the bond, whats this, do response to me within 7 days, will forward complain to BNM and Central bank of HK

Stop promoting products that the bank isnt clear of, yr staff has no clue when i asked questions and questions, they only know about marketing and marketing, to get commission !

What are you guys doing for me ? Terrible conduct of this bank - i hope yr CEO sees this letter, will do a social media stun if no reply from the bank

Mr Tan

Desired outcome: resolve the bond mess and help the client, what recourse to recover the money loss, we are retiree group

Standard Chartered Bank re -- Acc# [protected] and Acc# [protected] in Hong Kong

Been a couple of years now trying to close these accounts. Applied a couple of years ago. No success. They are asking me to apply again. Why. They closed my account. Not I. Should not have to do anything: should not have to apply to get my money as they closed my account. They refused service. Money should be returned automatically.

Note: Getting message that information is missing!

Doesn't say what information is needed.

Please explain.

Get the feeling that money may continues to be withheld. Getting feeling that there is actually no intention to return money!

Desired outcome: Expect my money.

Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card - Wrong Interest Charged (profit)

My last payment date was 9th July for card I hold with SC and I made payment on 8th July 11:00am via usual payment method. However on 20th I received new statement with interest accumulated for late payment which showed my payment of 8th was recorded on12th July. After making compliant they came back saying due to bank holiday and long weekend of Eid, They received the payment on 12 hence the Interest charged and cannot be waived.

While to get such reply I had to wait for 10 days.

One thing I noticed is that from the beginning they were not ready to give ticket reference which seems to be well planned approach to avoid central bank complaint.

Standard Chartered Bank Took my life savings of $300,000

I am an old-age pensioner living alone. I deposited my life savings of over $300,000 in Standard Chartered Bank.

A year and a half or so later I discovered that my money was missing. I found that the bank traded in investment funds with my money. The bank took nearly $160,000 in fees and over $50,000 in interest and lost the rest.

I dealt with only one person at the bank from the time of opening the account, known as a relationship manager. He asked me to sign many forms. I trusted him completely and did whatever he told me. I was a simple housewife who knew nothing whatsoever about investing, and had only ever held savings accounts.

The relationship manager took out massive loans and bought and sold the same investment funds repeatedly charging huge bank fees each time. He acted contrary to the bank's own guidelines that an investment fund be held for many years.

The bank has refused to refund my money and says that I gave all the trading instructions to the bank. They say that the bank officer was not involved, other than submitting my instructions.

The bank's defence is nonsensical as no sane person would buy and sell the same investments repeatedly at a loss in a relatively short period of time so as to burn their capital through enormous fees.

Standard Chartered Bank has taken my life savings. Now, in the latter part of my life, I have to depend on relatives and friends.

I am petitioning Standard Chartered Bank to return my money

Desired outcome: Refund my money in full

Standard Chartered Bank Credit card and scb staff

Please find below my grievance Note against standard chartered bank..
Visa card - [protected]
I lost my job in Sep 2020 and I returned back to India in October after paying AED 4900 odd amount that I had balance with SCB and When came back in Feb 2021 they informed me I had to pay 1200 as I had a balance of 149 which was not cleared in sep 2020.. as informed by the bank…I requested to waive of the charges and provide me a fair amount to pay.. they kept on delaying and finally they made the amount upto to 1900 then I paid 2000 and closed to avoid further deals with them in June 2021.

Now I was applying for a credit card with a professional bank the bank told me that SCB has put a comment on my record as "a customer not willing to pay back the loan" and they still haven't cleared my records till date despite of me making the payment.
Am requesting for clearance and these Iditarod findings ways to avoid issuing the letter

The bank name should be branded as standard cheaters bank which runs on looted money from common people… in other words it's an extortion company…with no business etiquette

Desired outcome: Common man should know about the way SCB treats people and also to get the clearance from these idiots

Standard Chartered Bank Loan against property

Stan Chart is the worst bank in India. I applied for LAP a few years back and in 2021 wanted to clear this loan but to my dismay and anger they are not providing me with the foreclosure letter and or pre closure documents. Nodal officers are busy working from home washing dishes, cooking food and sleeping. Despite many reminders they say they are helpless without any reason, everyday my interest and principle is being robbed by this bank.

Standard Chartered Bank SME bridging loan

Dear Mr Patrick and Officer in Charge

Good day to all. I beseech if you could review how your credit team assess the eligibility & approval of our application of SME bridging loan.

I am a minority shareholder of this Singapore Company - CW YIT & Associates PAC whom we have submitted an application since July 2020. The officer in charge of this are Cheryl Tan Zhiqi. After so many months of waiting, I am disgusted to hear that the application was rejected with no basis. I used to be a Priority Banking customer of SC HK years ago as well as having had received an offer from your personal banking for a private residential loan in 2013 which I had to declined because of favorable rates given by my OCBC Premier Banking. I do not have any outstandings with SC now and neither do my major shareholder whom is also a OCBC Premier banking customer. The amount loan is merely sgd70k and yet your credit assessment team has declined without assessing the business nature of our Company as well as the shareholders profile and qualifications cum long standing experiences. It is a real insult and embarrassment as well as wasting so much of our precious time reverting to your officers but to given such a disappointing reply.

It would great if you could revert why we are not eligible, failing which I would have no choice but to refer to other authorities to understand why our applications has failed. In my 20 over years of banking experiences, SC is a resourceful bank with great customer services and it would be sad to be spoiled by shady banking officers at the back... Feel free to contact me anytime at my mobile: 8139 6652. I would be happy to address you all your queries. Thanks and have a wonderful Sunday.

Standard Chartered Bank Additional money deductions in loan payment

I'm writing this in disappointment, I have been informed with the customer care executive through call several times, that my Personal Loan amount is not auto debited where it should be by every month of 5. But still, I don't see any changes happening every time I'm Paying it manually, and for the COVID 19 issue, I have not opted for the Moratorium but for last two months the money is not been deducted again. I have other loans which has not giving any issue without informing anything they are doing the work correctly except with Standard Chartered.

I don't want any moratorium and there is no one informing about the procedures for the rules and we are running in busy with other stuff and could not look into this kind of issues every time. I could see Interest is added to my account.

I need this mistake should not happen in future and immediately clear by debts for the past months as well, I don't want that to be added to my principle balance anymore or any further deductions.

Standard Chartered Bank Credit card

I avail 2 credit cards from my Standard Chartered bank, one Visa platinum and one Master card. Both of these cards have expired, Visa in December and Master Card in February this year. Despite multiple calls, complaints and escalating to different levels, they have not been able to deliver new credit cards to me.
It's quite frustrating that a bank as renowned as standard chartered is unable to fulfill the most basic of requests and have failed to keep their promise of delivering the cards multiple times.
I want to escalate this to standard chartered international to highlight the extreme incompetence of management in Pakistan who leave their customers to the mercy of call center agents without any means to get proper attention on the issue.
