As part of 2026 trip to Europe, booked on 10/25/25 a 9-seat vehicle to accomodate group adults and extra luggage. Upon pickup of vehicle on 4/30/26 in at local Sixt branch in Carcassonne France, was provided with a 7-seat vehicle instead. As a resolution at the time, local Sixt branch offered the option to rent two vehicles and be subsequently reimbursed for the cost of the additional rental. Accepted the local Sixt branch for free second vehicle and made rental of two cars using Chase credit card. Returned vehicles as agreed on 5/5/26. Sent customer feedback online input describing concerns and need for refund. Sixt representative acknowledged concern on 5/8/26 via email and indicated update to follow. Meanwhile, contacted credit card issuer to dispute payment. Credit card company communicated that Sixt offices challenged validity of offered refund and pointed to signed car rental agreement. Sent followup emails to Sixt on 5/22/26 since refund not received. Contacted Carcassonne Sixt branch manager where free car offer originated in on 6/25/26. Carcassonne Sixt branch manager sent follow up email to Sixt customer service confirming the free car offer as well as request for refund to be issued. Reached out to Carcassonne Sixt branch manager again 7/15/26 No resolution to date.
