I purchased 2 packages of the frozen beef patties for a picnic on Memorial day and ended up tossing both of them out. Burgers were terrible and no one ate them. Very rare for 6 grown men to turn that down. Fortunately, I had enough other food to go around.
At 13.49 a pack it was too expensive to ever try again.

As I got in line the associate was looking down at his phone. As he waited on me, he rung things incorrectly; having me to check everything. He continued typing on his phone. Just as quickly as I was done, he started back on the phone. As he handed me the receipt, I couldn’t even understand him. He was talking so low. Come on. Teach these kids customer service.

On Wednesday night at closing I accidentally left my keys inside my neighborhood safeway. I was just running to pick up a couple things for Thursday. I have my mothers medication I have to administer at midnight at 6 am noon and 6pm it is her heart and seizure medications which are life threatening if not taken. I am disabled myself and cannot walk very far and low income so cannot afford a taxi Lyft Uber or anything else plus My belongings and medications are in my backpack in the car so I need to stay with car. The employees were very rude and at one point were standing around pointing at me and laughing. My mother could end up hospitalized and or dying and my kids are alone until I return. I told the employees this and that I really needed to be let in to look for my keys so I can go and again they refused. I have never been treated worse or had such lack of concern for others life’s and wellbeing. My children are terrified and my mother is ill in need of meds and all I am asking for was five minutes to look for my keys which are in your crown hill store.

I am sitting in the cold in my car in front of the store waiting to be allowed in to find my keys.
Terrible trrrible terrible customer service and deliberate risking of my family’s safety and lives.

Safeway Davenport Washington store answering machine says open t ill 10 pm website says this store's open till 10 pm but store always closes an hour early I addressed this with them, they said after May for summer months they will follow corpate standards and remain open till 10 pm after summer they said they will not follow safe ways set standard of required business hours

I have a medication that is automatically filled at Safeway. I got texts that my prescription was ready. “ Safeway Rx: RX READY- RUSS, Rx ****** 20 MG TAB NORT is filled and ready for pick-up at SAFEWAY #35-1620, 20211 GOSHEN RD, [protected]” Drove to store to be told by pharmacist that medicine not ready and no refills remain. Pharmacist said it was ‘an IT PROBLEM AND WE HAVE NO CONTROL.’

Before ordering from safeway delivery, I checked my EBT CASH funds which were $147.00. I then ordered $71.00 worth of items to be delivered. It was then I was informed there were "insufficient funds", even though, according to the EBT Automated Line, I had $147.59 & the exact amount of my purchases was $71.44; this amount should have covered by the CASH balance in my account. This occurred on 04/23/23, & the (attempted) purchase was made on an android phone.
Desired outcome: That there should be some communication btwn the EBT system & the purchasing/delivery system, & I am able to buy those items with my EBT account without any further mistakes. I don't think that is too much for a customer to expect.
Unprofessional service
I was being followed by two employees when grocery shopping, who watched me pay for my groceries and continued to follow me outside the store and off the premises. One woman was a PIC named Riha and she took pictures of me and my car because she claimed that I “was shopping too fast.” This happened around 3pm on 4/21/23, and the unprofessional way this woman approached the situation made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. She should be trained properly to avoid making customers feel this way, and possibly avoid accusing customers of stealing when she watched them pay for their groceries. I will never return to this location.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate if this woman would apologize and if management could train her properly to ensure she doesn’t follow customers off the premises and take pictures of them without their consent.
Not accepting cash so I cannot eat
The only time I can go shopping is when they not don't accept cash. All I had was cash. No signs up warning about this. Waste of morning. I will never use cash less self check out machines. I'm not paid to do it. I'm not going to willingly steal someone's job. That is immoral and unjust. This is Canadian Safeway, not Communist China Safeway. April 19, 2023
Desired outcome: I want to be able to buy my food with cash and not starve
The McMicken Heights/SeaTac, WA store fired a long term, hard working, very pleasant employee for attempting to stop a thief.
I am sick to death of the complacency of this Safeway and the waste of their (i.e. My) money in hiring a smiling puppy of a "security" guard who does absolutely nothing to deter or detain thieves! I wrote to the store and the regional office and all I got was absurdly canned responses! No one bothered to personally contact me. Due to this and the fact that there are enough other grocery stores in the vicinity, I have not shopped there (and will not) since this occurred. Actually, I've barely shopped at any other Safeway in the Puget sound area because of this! I find their complacency appalling and lack of response cavalier. It's evident that they simply prefer to up their prices and charge me (and all the other paying, law abiding shoppers) to cover the added expenses of the "guard" and all the product the thieves make off with! Safeway has totally lost their way and I'm not going to give them any more of my business!
Desired outcome: Explain what they are doing to resolve the constant theft problem. Hire Rita back, IF she would even consider working for a company that doesn't give a rip about having great employees or about the pocket books of their paying customers.
Pharmacy/staff
First off, I am a local who lives just down the street from the Safeway at 1212 Forest Ave. Pacific Grove, CA 93950. I have been going to this store my whole life (I'm 52), and using the pharmacy since I started picking up my own medications. (let's just say 30+ years).
I had nose surgery on March 31, and then another surgery on my nose on April 7th. My Doctor, Dr. Grewal, who is a well respected ENT surgeon. She prescribed me norco for my pain. Having my nose broken and sewn back up 2 within a week has been incredibly painful.
After seeing my surgeon for my post-op apt, we discussed that the Norco was insufficient in controlling my pain. So she prescribed Tramadol, and called the prescription in to my pharmacy.
When I went to the Safeway pharmacy today 4/11/23 to pick it up, they told me 1- that my dual insurance I have would not cover it. I have checked, and this was not true. 2-she insisted that I must also purchase Narcan at the same time. Which she said was also not covered by my insurance.
I called my surgeon, and asked her if she had put in an order for Narcan along with the Tramadol. She replied that she Did Not put in request along with the pain medication. So I called Safeway back and asked if it was at Their discretion on making someone purchase the Narcan for the amount of $75. She replied that yes, it Is at her discretion to whom she will give the drugs to and to who she can make purchase the Narcan. Regardless of what orders were put in by a Medical Surgeon. She was very condescending towards me. Is this standard policy at All Safeways? This seems discriminatory as well as a money grab for the company. She is implying that I am a drug seeker, that my Surgeon is indiscriminately handing out pills. This is highly offensive to me as well as the reputation of my surgeon. I have known Many of the pharmacists for years. Most know me by name and my D.O.B. off the top of their heads. They know my parents, who often pick up my meds for me.
I have Never been treated this way.
I will Never use this pharmacy or store again.
They implied that I was drug seeking. They embarrased me with other people in the line.
Their treatment of me was out of line. They could have called and checked with my doctor, instead of making me look like a druggie. Instead, they decided to make a snap judgement on me, and basically extort money from me in purchasing Narcan which is given out freely to citizens in the community at no charge. Yet I should pay $75 because she feels like it.
Desired outcome: I would like to know exactly what Safeways policy is on these matters. Does a pharmacist get to decide who should and should not receive Narcan, and who should pay for it? I want to make sure the manager knows how they are treating people
Misleading advertising, discriminary electronic coupons
I have two issues:
a) Local weekly flyer showed products for sale that were not available in my store. I specifically went to the store for those products, spent time scouring the entire store looking for them, spent 15 minutes waiting for and dealing with customer service person...just to find out that the advertisement printed was a national one but the products were not in every store. No rainchecks and good luck finding them.
b) Discriminatory electronic coupon policy. The segment of society that cannot afford or cannot use a smartphone can't access the sales because have to be downloaded. These are exactly the people who need lower prices, e.g. seniors and the disadvantaged. And no one says or does anything.
Desired outcome: Quit misleading advertising. Either list the stores carrying the products to quit the national advertising.Everyone should be able to access all coupons.
This is my experience as well! I have the cellphone but 6 out of 6 times the LOCAL DIGITAL coupons WILL NOT WORK. I stand in the aisle trying to take a picture as other customers scream at me to move. With the National sale items there is the flyer coupon as backup but not with produce and not with store deals and every single time at 2 Safeway stores it has not worked. And at one tourist store they hope the tourist will give up and pay $10 for chips when the coupon fails. The cashier will not override ON PURPOSE I think. A scam and I am tired of it
Use of ebt - food benefit card being not accepted on laptop

When I approached to register, I set my purse down by the credit card machine, I took out $60 cash and gave it to the cashier. The Credit Card reader scanned my credit card from INSIDE MY PURSE and charged my credit card, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION..
When I called customer service they said it was my fault because my credit cards weren't protected within my purse.

Meat delivery
I was shopping at Safeway today around 3-4pm and half the store stunk like homeless people not showeded in weeks or roughting meating not stored right this is the second tine i smelled that store smelling that way and that is wrong they are making people sick! I complained to the delivery guy, he stated its the-blood inthe meat that causes that! Well daaaa! That means the meat is BAD/SPOILED! I told him to deal with it! He said its not his problem and that i was right but it not his job! That is the most horrible meat delivery or storage i’ve ever witnessed, as its the second time i’ve, smelled that rotten smell filling the store up in the air at Safeway! I've never smelled in a store before those two times! The man stocking the meat was lying at Safeway in Willits Ca. 95490 in it being okay, its not okay! The Willits CA Safeway is recieving very unhealthy bad meat that has not been properly stored before being delivered or went and goes bad in the truck or the truck is getting bad meat to start with or that Safeways freezer or refrigerator is broken! Ver unhealthy work & shopping to eating enviorment.
Desired outcome: Fresh properly stored meat, that don’t stink up half the store and is healthy to eat!
So, I started working at Safeway in August of 2022. I had a seizure at home and Nicole was very empathetic. I go back in late January or early February of 2023 once I was legally allowed to drive, and was treated like I was not welcome. I feel it is because I was a threat due to possible seizures at the store. The employees are unprofessional. I would walk into the store and clock in and on my way there is this Sanitation Lead named Micheal that keeps saying really loud in front of customers that I am late. I was never late. Actually, I would arrive 30 minutes ahead of time and sit in my truck or get some items like water before I needed to clock in. Fast forward to an incident that happened on March 18th, 2023 when a Safeway employee was verbally attacking a customer using vulgar language and taking off his apron threatening the customer with violence. I tell Catie the director because a week later this guy is back. She treated me like a toddler that can not have the brain capacity to communicate. Catie outright called me a liar saying "Come on now that did not happen". Backtracking to the incident, the PIC was George and he was on his lunch during the incident. I reported the issue as soon as George returned from lunch. George did approach the employee but I do not know what was said. After George went to do what he needed to do as far as his duties, the employee was mean mugging me from the Deli (where the employee was stationed when the incident occurred). Catie said it was [censored]. Even though I had a witness to the incident and how the employee was acting. In addition, as a checker, I have scanned meat that smelled like it came out of a turtle tank. It was DISGUSTING. They don't clean the freezers or the meat area and every time you walk by the meat section it reeks so bad your stomach will feel nauseous. The store is FILTHY. The most disgusting store I have ever been in from the Eastcoast to the South to the Midwest and Enterprise Oregon's store location is by far the worse. I am an intelligent individual that has extensive experience in customer service and communication. As an employee, we are treated like crap by Catie and Nicole. I was repeatedly harassed by an employee named Shane who would NOT leave me alone. He would come up behind me and try to spook me while I was checking a customer through the line, he stated that I was disgusting because I was with a black man for almost 10 years, Shane made several inuendos and I went to Catie about it but again I was brushed off like I was a low life. In addition, Alex has been known to be drunk on his shifts. He smells of alcohol all day long. This is hearsay what I am about to convey, however, I was told that Alex was slurring a few times one day on the intercom. What kind of company is this? Safeway in the Enterprise, Oregon location will never retain good quality employees if they not only stop false advertising that they give competitive wages (10 cents above minimum wage IS NOT COMPETITIVE) and then turn around and make us feel like dummies because we were dumb enough to work there. Safeway won't fix anything. Especially when it comes to sexual harassment and racist statements, Safeway's director Catie and assistant director Nicole are supportive of violence, a filthy store, discrimination of my own ADA, and physician-defined disabilities. I won't let this go. I will never work there again.
I am not a male. I am a female and have been assigned a female since birth. I have no idea who you think you are talking to but, I am one hundred percent heterosexual and a woman. You might want to get your facts straight. Better yet, get your head checked first. Weird reply. But okay!
This incident made me so angry that I took my anger out on my grandmother. I punched her in the face, she is having me charged for this. I face a criminal record.
No customer service
I have been shopping at the Safeway nearest me for 5 years. Store number 1663. 20901 N Pima Rd. Scottsdale, AZ. Five years ago it was great but since 2020 it has continuously declined. Bottom line; there are never enough cashiers and shelves are half empty! Most often there is only one cashier. This is not the case when I shop at the Frank Lloyd Wright store or the Safeway at Pinnacle Peak Rd and Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale. AZ.
The only time this store is fully stocked and clean is when management is due to visit! It should be this way every day! What I have noticed at this store is too much management and not enough attention on customer service. If this continues I will drive farther to do my grocery shopping. I have had enough of waiting in a line 5 or more customers long when I can drive 5 or 10 minutes more to get good customer service. Perhaps the managers at the store should start working the cashier lanes since they are too cheap to hire more!
Desired outcome: At least 3 cashiers working at the same time and better stocked shelves EVERY day!
Store 'auto' doors
Willingdon and hastings entrance doors on repeated occasions doors not opening properly! I've told cory the gen manager & nothing; in nov last year.
I was waiting for a friend and the safeway yesterday 5pm and many timed doors not opening-opening too slowly. For my times going inside it eas the second set not opening fast enough, almost ran into, had to sliwdown to half pace after seeing the door issue!

Carrots in bag in many small pieces.
Much much waste
Your plant tosses [censored] pieces into total 2lb/5lb bags up / top up the damm bag.
