I agree to the woman with the file #379797. Wells fargo is making money off honest people. The bank says that they don't have to tell you anything about overdraft charges or when the cut off of deposit for the same day! I have asked the employees of the Rohnert Park Branch, they say that they don't have to answer the consumers questions. I owe OVER $100.00 in overdraft fees, they don't tell you that when you use your ATM card for purchases that they can take it out TWICE! Which is really unlawful, the merchant gets the cut and so does the bank! If i am going to use my ATM card to purchase one thing, i will NOT be charged for it twice! Plus if they don't close your acct when you tell them to, they add on a $5 every day until you pay for their mistake! THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!
Back in March of this year my wife joined the LA Weightloss center in Lawrencville GA. She had been a previous customer of LA Weightloss when they first got started when we lived in New York and had a great experience with them and lost a lot of weight. So when the finally opened up down here she decided to join and continue her weightloss. So she joined in March and paid over $1, 000 for the program and the bars and other items. Probably actually paid well over that amount. Anyway, after a couple of months they started changing the location hours where she could not make it to way in regularly and then all of the sudden the location was closed and would not return her phone calls.
I have contacted the LA Weightloss Corporate office and they gave me the run around about sending me some kind of home program for her since they were forced to close all of their GA stores due to current economic conditions. I refused this though since this is not what we paid for I asked for a full refund and they haven't called me back yet.
I have since learned that the GA stores have known since January 2008 that they were closing and they were told to keep signing up new clients up until the day the stores closed. As this is what happened to my wife and countless others throughout several states.
Basically we just threw our money away and were trapped and lied too. This company should be forced to pay back every penny to all of its consumers that it lied it too and I hope bad things happen to every person responsible! Beware LA Weightloss or Pure Weightloss they will take your money and the only weight you will lose is the weight of the money that they take out of your pocket!
Please contact the GA Governer's office of consumer protection and file a complaint as I have if you have experienced the same problems or similar problems.
Order a trial of the Acai Berry with the promise of only paying S/H of $5.95. I received the order on October 14th and my account was charged $88.62 on October 20, 2008. Tried repeatedly to contact this company on all phone numbers listed on invoice and credit card statement to no avail.
This company needs to be shut down.
I ordered a white tea diet supplement and was give a free trial to Wellness Watchers. I have tried and tried to call and cancel this subscription before my card is charged. If it is charged, I will have to dispute it.
This company operating on the internet is a complete fraud. They will scam you if you do business with them. They will take your money and not deliver. Unless you want to lose your hard earned money Do Not do business with this company. They are a total scam.
I signed up for the 'free trial' of Extreme Acaiberry and like most of the other consumers, I had a very difficult time reaching the customer service line to cancel future shipments. However, I refused to hang up, and after 22 minutes of holding on the line I was able to speak to a customer service rep and cancel my order. They provided me with a cancellation confirmation number.
So, my advice is to be patient and don't hang up. I hope this helps someone!
I took a loan out in May 2008 for 200.00. I agreed to the payments and followed through with them as scheduled. In August 2008 I was informed they were illegal lenders in Maine an had a cease and desist order in effect from 2007. I contacted the state and they told me I legally only had to repay the 200.00 I borrowed. When I went through my statements I saw I had repaid and then some. The online contract was void because Maine law has presidense over contracts signed by Maine consumers who actually live in Maine.
I sent a cease and desist order and revoked my ACH approval, and placed an ACH block on my account and the next week they took out a paper check for 320.00, the amount they claimed I owed still.
I reported them again to the state and they told me to ignore them. The loan is illegal in Maine and even if they tried to sue, it would be thrown out since in Maine they have to be a licensed lender and they are not. The state has sent them several letters on my behalf with the law and telling to pay me back what they owe but the letters are refused by the company and returned.
This company is not licensed to lend in most states.
I am new to the contracting business and thought I would search out lead information. Contacted EveryContractor.com and they said they had 'hundreds' of leads in the Indianapolis area... hmmm wonder where all those hundreds went? They took my money quickly enough. The leads that they send me are either outdated, not legitimate, or the homeowner said they had already contracted with a contractor months ago. What is going on with this company? I am very frustrated. First of all, they charged me 3x for my 'membership'. I called them and after much frustration and a lot of call back's, they did refund one of my membership fee's. I definitely will NOT sign back up with them and informed them to take me off of their 'automatic' renewal.
I have not gotten a single job from their 'lead' program.
Don't trust them! They will take your money and will never send you the order! Stay away from them!
They're liars! Fraudulent company! Money sent - order never received! Beware of them!
AT&T has found yet another way to steal money from people. We bought a pay as you go phone from radio shack (an authorized dealer) instead of monthly minutes you're supposed to add money when your account gets low. They don't inform you when you buy the phone and add your original deposit that after 90 days if you don't add money they completely take all of your deposit... in my case $31.00 in other cases this could be $500 or more
You wont find this information on the packaging or anywhere inside the manuals... Even worse, they will argue and lie on the phone about 'company policy' not allowing them to return these credits they stole.
I understand cell company's not returning unused minutes but these Go phones are not under contract and the terms and conditions should be clearly stated BEFORE you have made the purchase. AT&T must be getting millions in extra income by this new scam
P.S... Michelle Arnold is the customer service rep. there that lied to me.
This company took 149.95 dollars out of my account without my permission. Beware people!
I signed up for 4 mugs and two pounds of coffee with the option of two more pounds a month. I ended up with 2 pound of coffee every 3-4 days automatically charged to my credit card. When I called customer service, they agreed that this was too much coffee for a person drinking 2-3 cups a day and took two charges off of my credit card. They promised that I would received no more coffee until January. Within 2 days I received another two pounds. I called customer service and the credit card company. I had them cut off from future charges to my card and canceled my subscription with the company.
In the meantime, I shipped back 10 pounds of coffee and should have received $211.00 plus change for my return promised within 5-7 days. The time has lapsed and the charges remain. I guess the two pounds of coffee and the four mugs were very expensive or I've been ripped off by a bad company.
This is bad for the internet and for the browsers. Seattle Direct Coffee still runs their ad on MSN without reservation. I just want my refund and walk away quickly and will be more careful about using MSN for much of anything.
I am a person with a severe disability. My disability leaves me without family and friends to speak of (or with). I sometimes don't hear my own voice for days. So, my TV is an absolute necessity to help maintain my sanity. Comcast has no regard for their low-income customers. And these customers probably make up a good portion of their customer base. I have Comcast's basic analog service at $56.95/month. I live on $650/month, and this cost of cable is a hardship, but again, a necessary one. Of course, I've had to consider limited basic and even antenna TV, but I could not live with the limited choice of channels. As it is, the number of channels worth watching on my basic cable service is shamefully few.
Cable TV should not be a 'luxury' when the alternatives are often not satisfactory. I did begin the process of switching to DirecTV, but canceled the installation when I was charged $149 for equipment before the installers were even due to arrive at my apartment. They should not charge for equipment when it isn't yet determined if I could receive a good signal at my location. I've since read way too many horror stories online about the poor business practices of the two satellite dish companies to risk monetary loss, poor installation, or poor service.
No other options such as FiOS or XOHM seem to be available in my area, not that I could afford those services either. So, as a monopoly would happily have it, I am stuck with Comcast, and their inconceivable prices which they plan to increase yet again. Notice that if you take away the letters, 'c', 'o', and 't' from the word Comcast, what remains are the letters that make up the word 'scam'... Keep in mind that the definitions of 'scam' are: A fraudulent business scheme; a stratagem for gain; a swindle.
Comcast's business practices often fit that definition. Their 'scam' would seem to be cleverly disguised by adding three letters to their name.
I purchased eMusic gift card. It said it was the largest source of 'independent music' on the net. Turns out that means that there are no major artists available- any songs you know are sung by no-name artists that couldn't get a major label if they tried. I downloaded 7 of 100 songs before i realized my grave error. I tried to return to Target where I bought the card but they could not refund since I used 7 songs. I have requested that eMusic refund my money but they will not.
This is not a quality music service- this is a service that butchers your favorite songs. Also- if you read the reviews of real people- they will steal the money right out of your bank account.
Bank of America will pick and choose in what order charges appear on your statement, in order to charge overdraft fees. They intentionally re-order the largest amount first regardless of date made, and even whether anything has actually posted or not. Bank of America will charge an overdraft fee when the system they use, (not available for view by customers), says that you have overdrawn your account. Even when the direct website www.bankofamerica.com says there is money available.
When you accidentally go over by a dollar or two the bank does not give you a chance to put funds in the account because they immediately charge you an insufficient funds fee before the transaction even shows as pending. With the re-ordering of posts and they immediate NSF charge they have turned one small overdraft into seven. They have done this to me and my wife several times. there have been many times we would check our balance and then the next day (even without spending a dime ) our balance wound be at negative 300 dollars.
Keep the change is a bad idea if you do not have a large safety net in the bank it provides an easy opportunity to charge you a 10 dollar fee for transferring the keep the change that has not even hit your savings account where you can transfer it yourself.
Fit Factory looked like they might have a decent weight-loss product to try. Their site indicated you could try the product, at no cost (free, only pay shipping), for one month. I have no product and my account's been charged $29.95 I'm furious!
I am really mad at Direct tv's customer service. I referred Pauline a couple months ago to Direct tv. I gave her my acc. # and the # to refer a friend, [protected]. She hooked up with Direct tv. She Gave them My account name and number and said we would get $10 credit on both our bills for 5 months. When we got our first bill there was no credit, so I emailed direc tv. I was told we didn't call the right number. I know the right # was called because we still have the paper I wrote the # on that Pauline called from. So I called direct tv to tell them their wrong. I talked to a girl named Erica. She said she seen that Pauline did call from the right number and she would fix it and that we would get the $10 off on the next months bill and for 5 months. Well, I see the next months bill and there is still NO $10 credit. So I called [protected]) The man said that Erica told me wrong and Pauline did not do the proper procedure to get the credit. I was so mad I could of spit nails through the phone. WE DID DO EVERYTHING RIGHT ! SHE CALLED FROM THE RIGHT NUMBER, SHE GAVE THEM MY ACCOUNT INFORMATION AND GOT THE RIGHT PACKAGES ETC. I don't think this man (was so mad 4got to get his name) ever told me what she didn't do right just that Pauline didn't go through the right process. Like I told him, 'Just because you guys didn't enter something on your end right, is not our fault and we DID do our part right! ' He refuse to fix it, and I told him it was a scam ! So I went to Pauline's house to let her know we wasn't going to get the credit. She said that its a bunch of baloney. So she called and talked to Mathew and he said that WE WERE ENTITLED TO IT. He fixed it and says we will get the credit in 6-8 weeks. Another Wait...
Now tell me, is this a run around over a scam. OR Do people just not know what they are doing in your customer service area!
I use to have a very high opinion of Direct tv, and now I am embarrassed over this ordeal. I will be very pleased If I do receive the credit Pauline and I are entitled to, my faith and opinion will be mostly restored in Direct tv's customer service. Other wise I will let every one know what I think. Business are still in business like this because of Scams, thats how they have been in business so long. They get people to think they are legitimate, with promotions, promises, and too good to be true type things. Customers call on their promotion told all the right things, then after they have signed for 12-24 month contract then they pull the rug out from under then, then they are stuck in a contract they can't affordable get out of but yet direct tv's are not liable for their promotion ad's and are able to scam people. I will never refer anyone to Direct tv; I don't care if they promise me a million, because I know their promises are as empty as their heads are. Every call is suppose to be recorded, therefore all should be able to be verified. They don't care to satisfy customers, why, they have us by our yinyang in a contract. I personally think these contracts should be changed. If we want out of a contract where we know we have been done wrong especially in the first 3 months, we should be able to with out paying a penalty. I think these contracts are a way for companies to run scams, mislead consumers, and just plainly RIP OFF folks. I will see if they honor their last promise from Mathew. mean while, I have sent Direct tv another email explaining they whole ordeal similar to this report, and will see what they email me back. Who knows. Probably another run around. For anyone reading this, I wouldn't tell you what to do, but please BEWARE and AWARE. I do not recommend Direct tv persay their promotions. My mistake is I didn't check into 'rip offs' and similar sites before referring someone. I don't always believe everything I read, but when I read more bad than good, it probably means they are BAD. If I can, I will let you know how this turns out.
I said yes to a $1.95 cd to be sent to me, they said I had to pay for shipping the $1.95 came out of my account and now I've noticed charges for $39.95 every month, this was never authorized and now I can't get them to cancel.
Shopping Essentials showed up on my billing statement 3 months ago. I didn't' know what it was. I assumed that my hubby was buying some stupid thing or another for school. It was only $19.95. I must have missed the next one but I caught the last one and recognized it. Not our usual purchase for certain.
I called the number on the statement to inquire what kind of company they were and that is when the run around began. They claim to be a retail shopping company. I explained that I didn't know what they were and they couldn't even tell me how I could look them up on the internet. I asked if I had ever used their services and they couldn't be sure of that either.
The woman got short with me and I got very aggressive on the phone. She was dodging my questions and finally said that I must have clicked a pop up. It didn't dawn on me to ask how they had received my credit card number. They promptly canceled and refunded my $19.95 but refused to credit more than the one.
I am currently filing claims with my credit union to get back 2 of the charges so I'm fairly happy. But be warned! I looked them up on the internet and there are hundreds of sites warning of their scam. They buy your credit card number and they fraudulently charge their membership fees.
I did not sign up for either easy saver or american leisure, and I'm not even sure what they are. I haven't received any magazines or subscriptions with these names. The company has been charging me $16.95 a month for easy saver, and $16.95 a month for american leisure. When I call the 800 number I am told to go to their web site to cancel. I cannot find anything under that name for cancellation.
I noticed a $12.00 charge on my credit account by this company neither my husband nor I authorized. I've been charged this $12.00 fee since April of this year. I could only dispute 2 of the charges with my credit card company.
I ordered a Cd from the grant university which advertised Free cd, just pay 1.98 shipping and handling and they will send information to get Free money from grants on 10/21/08. The cd arrived on 10/25/08 and did not even work. Now I find out that I was charged 69.95 today 10/29 for membership. I did not authorize any membership. I called the toll free number and was told I did not cancel within the 7 days trial. How could I, the cd did not arrive until 10-25. They do not tell you that a 7 day trial membership starts when they MAIL the cd. Now I have a charge that put my credit card over the limit and have extra charges for over the limit and the still cannot use the CD, the grant professor! This company is a ripoff. DO not order anything from them.
I've had a 'past due amount' of $157 and paid $30 of it. It was a phone bill from 6 years ago. They've recently contacted me ON A DAILY BASIS about this 'problem' and continue to leave messages on my cell. It's not on my credit report, and SBC has told me that it has been closed.
I had the same problem as SpizyChicken with this company. I placed an order and never received it and was told that my credit card would not be charged and of course it was. Also, had the bogus UPS tracking etc.. I finally went thru my credit card company to get a refund and they handled it from that point on.
I have learned my lesson and after inspecting the sight closer they didn't even have a contact telephone number. Have ordered for years over the internet without any problems until this company. I guess I have just been lucky.
