Popeyes review: Treatment at the drive through intercom and pick-up window

My incident occurred September 22, 2023 at 7:39 pm at the 6th avenue location in Tacoma WA. My pick up code was 4688 When I was spoken to over the intercom I gave that number but it wasn't understood so I repeated it. OK.. then I was asked original or spicy, I said spicy but no reply... I know my voice tone does not carry well athrough these systems so I increased the pitch, not the volume... spicy. It was then when the attendant in short 'dressed me down' for speaking that way and to drive away, I was not to be served. Of course I replied athat I know the pitch of my voice doesn't carry easily and I was simply trying to be more clear. I asked it Leo was in (he has helped me graciously in the past) I was told "This isn't Leo's store." then, again, I was not to be served and to drive out. I drove to the window in order to explain more clearly. The lady ignored me for a short time then came to the window and told me to leave. I started with, just let me explain. In as closely as I can arepeat: "I have been working all day. I treat my customers well and don't have to be spoken to like you did. I have enough trouble with employees today, with issues at my home, a death in my family, I don't like being here today, I don't want to be here today, and I don't have to listen to you with your attitude." Oh, the lady is the store manager... Dee maybe. As would you be, I was at best shocked. To be honest, I did say "I think the person with the attitude is you, not me." Of course that went nowhere. I was told to leave. I replied that I would be forwarding this to you... she didn't reply. I know that's often an ignored reply from a guest... its ok. However, that she should dump her problems on me and totally misunderstand what honestly happened initially is obviously, overwhelmingly, inappropiate, and obvious to you as well I am sure. So... I left, somewhat speechless.. My passenger friend in my car of course asked, "Did that really just happen?" Of course, a rhetorical question to be sure. Now, having thought about it for a couple of days, I say the experience was at best humiliating, given that a friend was with me. But, I'll survive. In fact, I returned to the store last evening (23rd), saw that Leo was there, and ordered. Only he and an associate were there, yet they managed the guests ahead of me and me briskly, yet pleasantly... along with the drive through as well (I went inside). So, what do I want or want done? Honestly I do not know. I know you don't want me to mention this, but I will anyway... I spent my second career in retailing, however in fine jewelry. I stsarted at the back of the line and retired from an executive position in 2010. I don't tell you that as if I am applauding myself, Rather, to be obvious, I do know and did train at length how to best treat a guest to make them happy to assure they would return... an obvious goal. It seems silly to raise or mention the point.
