Popeyes review: Verbal abuse / nepotism / horrible gm

This place has the WORST management I have ever seen. These people are BULLIES! The General Manager Will INTENTIONALLY caused me to short my own drawer last Wednesday by over $17 by encouraging me to give out too much change after orders someone took ended up misplaced in the system. Needless to say, I ended up cahrging 3 customers in a row for the wrong order(this was no doubt pre-planned by the GM) and had to give them all a refund. My drawer is usually a few dollars OVER not minus such a large amount.

It was done in retaliation to "get back at me" for speaking up to his "friend" or relative Melvin who has been verbally harassing and mocking me NONSTOP since the month of May for my religious beliefs, practice of race mixing and miscegenation.

Melvin is given carte blanche by the GM to do whatever he wishes without ANY negative consequences. His offenses include threatening to "ram me over" for nearly walking into him, constantly making racist, insulting and inflammatory remarks and jokes against Asian and Caucasian customers while the drive thru window is open, threatening to have his sister beat up a female manager and leaving early last Thursday morning because she asked him to mop the floor.

Melvin is allowed to take as many breaks as he wants although an avrage employee is only allowed ONE 30 minute break per day. He even mocks a developmentally disabled employee on a daily basis. When confronted about the matter he attempted to justify himself saying "She has a boyfriend and is smart enough to use the internet so it's okay." Just Wednesday of this week he scolded her as soon as she walked in the door saying "Don't sit at this table today! This is MY table!" He said referring to a certain table he sits at during break. She looked as if she wanted to burst into tears.

He also slammed the door on a 68 year old employee knowing she was right behind him attempting to enter the building. He goes out of his way to create a hostile work environment for this woman, myself and anyone he deems as being inferior to himsel;f and his GM relative. He even once stated "Nobody is gonna mess with me because I'm Will's boy." Not an exact quote but his statement was somewhere in that neighborhood.

He and the GM often take part in sexist conversations about how many do so many things the wrong way. The GM never holds him accountable for his actions no matter how abusive, inappropriate, offensive, cruel, threatening or ill mannered he is toward other employees. The GM usually laughs it off or sometimes joins in with him. They have made it quite clear that they are thick as thieves and everyone else is just a pawn in their game.

Melvin is INSANE and quite disturbed in my honest opinion and cannot be trusted. No one is safe from his harassment regardless of any underlying factor(race, religion, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, age). He is an equal opportunity offender. He is also a ticking time bomb who is in desperate need of a psychological evaluation and anger management training.

Either shut this place down or put your GM and his flunky in check. I am so glad I don't here anymore. Only by the grace of God and the skin of my teeth did I make it through working at this location.
