I filed a claim for a windscreen replacement with my insurance (providing the VIN number) on 6 December 2023. On 28 December I was finally contacted by PG Middleburg to make an appointment for the replacement... I live in White River. Not Middleburg. After another 2 weeks I finally received a call from PG Nelspruit (closest branch) to advise that they are waiting for the windscreen to arrive from Middleburg and will make contact to arrange for the fitment. This was then scheduled for Thursday 25 January.

The first problem came in when they mistakenly booked my car in for tinting - not windscreen replacement and luckily Mikayla (very helpful) intervened and they proceeded with the replacement. 3 hours later they phone me to tell me that they have just realized that they have received the wrong size windscreen and that the car will have to stay with the shop overnight. This was already a big problem as I was left stranded in Nelspruit without transport.

The next day (26 Jan) we arrived to fetch the vehicle (VW Touareg 2020 model). When my husband started the car every single error message came on - every sensor and every fault showing that the calibration was not done correctly. They put the car back on the computer for calibration (took another hour) only to state that they can't help us and that we will have to take the car to a VW dealership. The manager of the shop - could honestly not care less about the situation and it was only Mikayla that tried to assist us.

VW tried everything they could to recalibrate the car but was unsuccessful. They noted that they rain sensors may have been damaged in the process by PG Glass. Their technicians worked on the car for hours and could not fix the PG Glass's botched job.

We have to now get the car to VW Hatfield (PTA) to assess the damage and for them to attempt to fix the calibration. This exercise will take a minimum of 1 day to do and may not be successful. The sensors that are not working correctly is a safety concern and not to mention the financial implications for transporting the car to Pretoria.

Desired outcome: PG glass has to pay for the calibration and transport of the vehicle to Pretoria.
