Panera Bread Order Messed Up

My order was 45 minutes late arriving. Then when my order arrived it didn't contain the soup I had ordered. A spoon was in the bag with a half sandwich and a piece of bread, but not soup. When I called the local Bread Company and asked to speak with a manager I was put on hold and then disconnected. I tried calling back again but they wouldn't pick up the phone. I just want to get my money refunded for the soup I had paid for. My order # [protected] Order checked by K

Desired outcome: Want to be refunded for the soup.

Panera Bread Product and service

Dear Sir/Madam,
There are times when we ignore things, let things go or step up. This is a step-up take action time. I have had several incorrectly filled orders at the restaurant and have let most go and returned to have two orders redone {corrected}. On the first returned item I was told that they were out of the bread I wanted and used a substitute (did not advise me of this). I was given a refund. The second return tonight I was told the same thing. So, I asked if I could be told this at point of sale and I not fine out after arriving home and having to coming back. So, I changed to a bread that was available. Now I will say that my order was quite difficult as a wanted a plain tuna sandwich - nothing on it, just bread and tuna. I get to the window a young lady says "You get the tuna sandwich, right? YES! She picks up the bag go to the back for 3 or 4 minutes and comes back and says"I can't find the ticket for this, just take it." (she did not take my 2nd order the fellow who did original order did). I inform her it is a redo for a plain tuna sandwich. I get home I have tuna but also tomatoes, lettuce onions, pickles, etc.). I know you think why can't she just take off what's not wanted. Tuna is not like a slice of meat. The more things you take off a tuna sandwich the more tuna you lose. Been there done that on more than one occasion. I say why can't I get what I ordered.
I am done. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate you at 1. As this is about the number of times my order has been correct out of 10 visits. So you can see this is not about 2 orders but basically 9 I said nothing about. I can only blame myself, as errors/mistakes can't be rectified until management is made aware. I am making you aware.
This not happening at the 5th Street shop but also the Barracks Road shop in Charlottesville, Va. So, we can assume it is company-wide.
It starts with one unhappy customer and never stops. Good Luck!
E.N. Peoples

Panera Bread Macaroni and Cheese

I ordered lunch on the afternoon of Saturday, February 13, 2021. I spent $67.83 in the Panera Bread located on Staten Island, NY. When I got home and ate my macaroni and cheese from my pick 2, I found a piece of plastic. In the picture I am holding the piece of plastic on the left side. This was disgusting and I couldn't eat my lunch.
I have been eating macaroni and cheese at Panera Bread for years and I have never experienced this before. I enjoy this meal every time I go to visit a local store, but I am not going to be able to eat the macaroni and cheese again.

Panera Bread Sandwich sizing

I went to Panera at Alton 5310 Donald Ross Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418 last night (Feb. 7) around 7:10, We got 2 sandwiches, mine was very poor in quality, basically 2 inches of bread and some pieces of meat with little cheese, I paid $6.19 (very close is Publix, a whole sandwich with all the works is $6.29) plus tax. although we got sandwiches, we got and extra piece of bread... maybe I haven't been at Panera for while. I used to love everything, but the last time I went I got similar experience and I stop going, this was my partner idea, no mine. I sent the photo to Panera facebook, they told me to seek the manager. I will like a refund, but I don't want to go back to the restaurant because I didn't like the service.
My name is I Best and my email: [protected]@yahoo.com,
The order number: 130356
the receipt # [protected] 16

Desired outcome: Money back

Panera Bread Useless service

Every time I have been to the Clark NJ Panera, I have ordered online. Each time the order has been incorrectly packed. I do not believe the children that work there are adequately supervised or trained. This issue is not for a particular day or time of day. Every time over a 2 year period. I now make a point of opening each item and checking inside each bag. It is ridiculous. All the server needs to do is look at the order on the bag. They repeatedly fail to deliver loaves of bread I have ordered and the bag is clearly not containing a loaf despite what it says on the order stapled to the bag. Today I ordered a sourdough loaf. When I picked up my order it was missing the loaf, no surprise. I had ordered curbside to reduce exposure but had to go back into the store and ask where it was. The server then took a white loaf (not sourdough some sugar leavened thing) out of a box of random loaves and said that was all he had. Then he handed the box of loaves over to the food bank worker there to pick up surplus food. I don't begrudge that the foodbank gets your excess food and I think that is a good program but it doesn't exactly make me feel great my loaf was clearly the last one standing and not treated to much ceremony.

Desired outcome: Improved service training, perhaps some review of management.

Panera Bread Food / pickles

January 21, 2021
Dear Mr. Ted Hoeflich and the Customer Care Team,

I was told to contact you about my concern.
On around January 7, 2021, I went to the Panera Bread on 7169 Security Blvd in Baltimore County. I was very dismayed and disappointed that an employee would think that it is funny to call himself playing a JOKE on a customer by placing dried up distorted pickles in my order. My daughter and I purchase somewhere around 100 a week at Panera and to be treated in this matter by a suppose to be manager. His name is Macla (spelling error) a short afro american male. I happen to check my bag before I left and discovered. what he had done. When I confronted him, he laughed and said "I knew you would be coming back" In otherwords, he also felt it was appropriate to inconvience me. That is so disrespectful. He told me to take those pickles and then gave me some more in another cup. I threw all of them in the trash in addition to my entire order. Later, the next day, as I was entering to speak to someone, a manager by the name of Wavonne (afro american woman
said " He told me what he did to you yesterday with a grin on her face. Later saying that he had no business doing that. Another lady in the store saw what he put in my bag. She was also shock!
After I thought about the situation, I contacted your customer care office. I spoke to a lady by the name of Alice. She agreed that his actions are not
what the panera company promotes and should not be happening.
I have not received any feedback from this situation. I will say that I do not feel comfortable going to that store with an employee presenting this type of behavior. I was also informed by another employee that Macha has health issues. Is that a reason for him to be nasty, dirty, and unprofessional on the job? I strongly recommend that someone address his behavior immediately.
I would appreciate feedback as to what is being done about this. I do not want him to do this to any other customer. He is a poor example to represent the company.
I can be contacted at [protected] and my email is S_Bess1570 @comcast.net.
Thank you, and I look forward to hear from you.

Sharon Bess

Desired outcome: Yes I want to be contacted about the outcome of this situation.

Panera Bread Service / food presentation

I'm very disappointed on the way my husband was just treated, they took forever to give him a Sandwich it was only 6:40 they don't close till 9 pm and they didn't have a lot of the stuff we wanted.
After my husband waiting there forever, his name is Jose and they were calling Josie... After my husband asked do you mean Jose? And the lady said oh, well close enough! Not professional at all. I was at home and when he got home this is what they gave us... See pictures I'm attaching. Seems that some food was rotten. This is not a meal worth $20.

MZ

Desired outcome: For employee to be more professional and to serve food that looks good not rotten.

Panera Bread Unethical behaviour

My friend and I walked into the establishment in Huber Heights off 202 on 1/10/21 only to be met with a very unprofessional manager who refused us service merely because we are medically unable to wear a mask. I understand those who choose to use other means to obtain food, but the State order actually says it does not apply to those medically or developmentally unable to wear a mask. I was highly offended at the fact the manager not only did not want to read the order we provided, but also threatened to call the police.
The manager is hired to deal with any conflicts and during 2020, I am surprised this individual was not properly trained on how to deal with those exempted. I also do not understand between the plastic and employees wearing masks and those unmasked at the tables, why Panera's manager would violate the ADA Law, the order, and discrimination. But the message is clear if you are not wearing a mask, you are not welcomed at Panera... so even those at the table without masks would not be welcomed.

Desired outcome: For employees and the company not to discriminate and allow individuals into their establishments to purchase food.

Panera Bread Forcing me to tip 30% on a delivery order

I am on coronavirus quarantine for an upcoming surgery and I am trying to place an order for delivery from Panera. However, it automatically adds a $3.00 tip and there is no way to remove or edit the tip amount. The mandatory $3.00 tip is in addition to a mandatory $3.00 delivery fee. While I am usually a generous tipper, I do not appreciate being forced to do so. A tip is just that, a bonus, an extra for doing a good job. A tip is not a mandatory fee imposed by a company. It is ridiculous and offensive to force me to tip a driver who may not even do a good job. My order is only $11.00, but after all of the mandatory taxes and fees, it goes up to $20.00. So I need literally need to pay double in order to get my order delivered. While I am in quarantine. Awesome. You know, I am currently a Panera rewards member. But I am now fully boycotting Panera and spreading the word on the massive (in my case 60% before taxes) imposed tips and fees.

Desired outcome: I am no longer going to Panera and I am going to spread the word as much as possible that others should avoid the place.

Panera Bread Ordered something and did not receive it

I ordered a pick up order on 01/02/2021 at 1:05am at the dobbin rd panera bread in maryland and when I picked it up and went all the way home (25 minute drive) I did not receive the correct item that I ordered. I ordered a broccoli cheddar mac & cheese bread bowl but instead I got some soup. I did not want to drive all the way back there because the rest of the food would be cold.

Desired outcome: I would like to request a refund on the item because I just did not even end up getting the product I wanted.

Panera Bread Refusal to give me my change using coin shortage as an excuse

On 12/28/2020 at 4:19 pm I placed a drive thru order at the Panera in Hilliard Ohio, store #[protected]) for the amount of $8.18, and handed the cashier a $20 at which time she told me there is a coin shortage and she could round up and donate. I told her "no thanks" she then said she had no change. I told her there was no coin shortage and she was not going to keep my change or force me to donate, but, rather than continue the debate, I found .18 cents and gave to her and she gave me the bills from the $20. She returned shortly with my food and said "you are lucky you had .18 cents, I told her I was not lucky, I would have just gone somewhere else. I asked her to tell the manager that I would not be back to Panera and would be filing a complaint. A woman approached the window, I assume she was the manager, and asked what the problem was, I told her it was the managers responsibility to have change for the customer and not just keep their money or force them to donate and I did not believe it was legal. She replied there is a coin shortage, I told her that excuse had been tried early on (meaning when Covid began) but, there was in fact no coin shortage. I then asked her where she thought all the coins had gone from last week to this week. I then told her that I would not be back to Panera and was filing a complaint. I am wondering why it is ok for Panera to not return my change (coins) and require me to round up and donate .82 cents rather than Panera rounding down for the .18 cents? I have enjoyed eating at Panera since 1997 but, will be giving my business to someone else that will gladly give me change and not keep money that does not belong to them or that they have not earned. Thanks, Koenia Siebers

Desired outcome: Policy change regarding coin shortage which equates to theft of customers money or coercion to donate.

Panera Bread We tried to place an order for our staff meeting.

15 orders. The website was undergoing maintenance, but I was not informed of that until 4 attempts later when it wouldn't allow me to order more than 6 items. I decided to call the order in. I told the representative that answered that I would like to place an order for delivery of 15 items and was abruptly told "We don't do that". I said well I tried to order thru your website, but it is undergoing maintenance and not working right now. Again the rep abruptly said "You'll have to find some other way to order." I said "Don't you take the orders over the phone and deliver?" The rep said "No. Go thru an app or something". The rep was extremely unhelpful and rude. The Panera website was extremely unhelpful, which was surprising that such a large and well known organization, such as Panera, can't even manage to keep a website operating or teach its employees how to service customers properly. I don't know how Panera expects to stay in business when it can't even meet the basic needs of food order and delivery in its brick and mortar stores or cater to its online customers during these uncertain times. We decided to order our food from another restaurant and most likely won't be placing any of our companies large orders through Panera anytime in the near future.

Panera Bread Grilled cheese

I order from Panera in Newburyport, MA on a regular basis, and yesterday I got two kids grilled cheeses (drive-thru) that barely had any cheese in them. Normally I wouldn't complain, but they were $5.99 each and we basically threw them away. My phone is [protected]. If at all possible, it would be great to have a gift card to compensate me for these.

My order # was 1321766, and the date was 12/2/2020.

Thank you,
Sarah Johnston

Panera Bread Poor experience at restaurant and very bad experience in trying to contact panera

I have spent over an hour each of the last few days trying to reach Panera to provide feedback on my recent visit at a restaurant that is not my home Panera. Not much in the visit worked well; the only thing that worked well was the soup was not burned: I was overcharged, my order was wrong, it was prepared wrong, the waiter did not know the menu, etc. I go to Panera everyday and will be cancelling my subscription.

The receipt I got actually mentioned that I should receive a treat if anything goes wrong. obviously I did not get that either. [protected]

Panera Bread Pick two: Half toasted steak and white cheddar and half Asian sesame salad with chicken

If I order something I expect it to be filled looking. It just looks like a depressed meal. I get off work expecting to have a nice dinner and it looks like this. I'm a chef and I would never serve something like this to anyone. Especially the cost of this meal. Very disappointed. I will be going back to tomorrow to talk to the manager.

Panera Bread Charges

On 9/2/2020 I purchased a gift card for $100. I am also enrolled in the $8.99 monthly coffee special. I have been using the gift card card since I received it and have noticed on two different occasions, 9/21/2020 and 10/20/2020 that my Master Card has been charged $9.71 when I purchased a dozen bagels (bagel Tuesdays) and a coffee that should have been charged to the $8.99 special offer yet I was charged for everything on my Master Card. Can you tell me how my credit card, your gift certificate and the monthly coffee special are messed up? Thank you for your time.

You were not overcharged. The difference is the 8% sales tax, brother.

It's cute that you think a coffee still costs 72 cents, though. Really.

Happens to me ALL the time. I steer clear because I either have to check my bag and receipt cuz one of them is usually incorrect. I shouldn't have to spend so much time. Just yesterday - ordered 3 bagels and only got 2 but they charged for 3! Don't let mle get started...

Panera Bread Food was wrong. Customer service the absolute worst.

Panera Bread at 825 E Innes Street Salisbury NC 28144. If I could give this location zero stars I would. I visited this location today to purchase food. I ordered my food through the drive through. Me and my kids waited in line for 20 mins with one car in front of us. I got to the window and the young lady gave me my food and took my card. I looked at the food and it wasn't correct. I asked the young lady was certain items included she stated they were out of those particular things so I asked why I wasn't informed of the items they were out of because I probably would have ordered something else. I asked for a manger because I wanted a refund and she came to the window and stated that they had all the items that the young lady stated they were out of. She went and got the items and threw them out the window at me. I asked for a cooperate number and this young lady gave me an employee benefits line. I then parked my car in the front and went inside the store. I told her that the number she gave me was an employee number she stated that was the correct number and I asked who was the manager over here and she said it was one. I then asked for a refund again and she refused to give me a refund. Stated if I didn't leave the store she was calling the police. I told her I hadn't done anything wrong and that she could call the police I would wait for them. The whole time I wasn't rude, I didn't get angry until the young lady called the police. When I came inside this manager was trying to by pass me and take other customers orders in a professional manner. Other customers of other races. Even though I had order my food way before my food was wrong and was refused a refund. This is the fourth time this location has messed up my order with rude racist customer service. The police got there and spoke with the manager and she told them something inside the building they can outside and stated I was banned from location. No refund, Not the correct food nothing. I did speak with the district supervisor and she didn't care much. Stated she was trying to work with me to return my money and to return to the location I was banned from for refund knowing I could get in trouble if I am at this location. I am beyond upset. Simple customer service would have went a long way. I have spent lots of money here and here lately the staff does not care for people of color their whole attitudes change wether you go inside or through the drive up window. I have never felt so embarrassed or racially discriminated against in my whole life over something so small. I would not recommend this location or the food.

Look, I get discriminated at Panera's also. But I am white. Most workers here in SC are dark skin. I don't get "Welcome to Walgreen's", or even service at some places here. But Panera's is the worst. AND I very rarely get my order or my receipt correct. 9 out of 10 times it is incorrect so I have to spend 15 minutes waiting to be heard and then rudely taken care of. Yes, they do throw bags at customers who complain. It has happened to me 2 times. The police that came to "help" you are also racist, it seems. They should have taken your side because it is obvious you could hold your cool just by your writing. So sorry for you.
