Waited the 90 days requested by Opodo for refund but have not been able to contact them nor received any update. On Feb 3rd I booked 2 return flights plus hotel in St Petersburg, departiing 23 May 2020. When obvious that travel would not be happening I contacted Opodo for update. No reply. I had to check status of flight myself up to morning of departure. Flight was cancelled by airline. Many emails and calls (all numbers not operational) plus letter to head office in London and an address in Spain on their T&Cs. Some weeks after departure I got an email from them but appearing to come from WizzAir saying flight was cancelled. Not a surprise as it was weeks before! I contacted the hotel who said Expedia cancelled on May 13th. I didn't use Expedia. I contacted them and they said my hotel cost was refunded to a credit card on May 13th. Nothing from Opodo more than 8 weeks after departure date. I booked a package (have Atol number) so am requesting my full refund of £1186.60. Their booking reference is [protected]. I have been very patient but will take this to the highest level. I have copies of all correspondence I sent them.
Refund not received
I booked a flight through Opodo. Air Greenland from Copenhagen to Iluluissat - for June 25 2020 with a return flight on June 30, 2020. The flight was cancelled. Opodo informed me that they sent me a refund on June 13 2020 - to the credit card by which I made my booking. To date (July 20 2020) I have NOT received the funds.
I would like to know the status of the refund.

am really frustrated with Opodo - virgin and BA left me stranded with no communication in Namibia in April
i had tried several times to ask for my refund and Opodo just ignore my requests - its mnot oftern i can get past the stupid bot customer service
the excuse i get is that as i flew outbound and not the inbound to the UK -'its very difficult' for the airlines to refund part trip
this just isn't good enough
not only have i missed out on the money i spent on a return ticket - but was left stranded with no way home
i had to get a foreigh office flight for £1400

The Lufthansa flight from 10.02.2020 from Mexico City to Milano was cancelled due to the storm that was in Germany. The 12.02.2020 I did the refund request via Opodo Messenger service, the only disponibile. Today we are the 25.06.2020 and still no refund! Please, help.
The Lufthansa company said that they have refund to Opodo since February:

I would like to inform you that refund has already been processed of above mentioned ticket. As originally ticket was issued by travel agent with form of payment cash hence we have processed refund to travel agent.

I wonder if you are looking into the problems with opodo refunds? We understand that covid-19 is exceptional but they have now cut all telephone communication and it is impossible to get any satisfaction. We are owing a flight cancellation refund. The airline says we have to go through opodo. Their website says to click on voucher refund but there is no explanation at all of what this means. We do not want to use the same routing again (hong kong-france). We need to know that a refund can be used on any routing. Maybe you can get an answer? We managed to get another flight from air new zealand who accepted that we could not get in touch with opodo but they could not refund the taxes paid for an auckland-hong kong cancelled flight. There is nothing on line to enable us to ask for them to obtain this refund.
Also we took out cancellation insurance with opodo but they say this is a force majeure and the insurance isn't valid. We wondered whether this has been proved in court as a force majeure in the eyes of the law (normally earthquakes etc.) and shouldn't our insurance money be refunded if they cannot honour it.

Cancelled flight and refund
We had a flight booked from Lanzarote to gran Canaria which was cancelled, and limo ground transfer to hotel and back .
Must add we were supposed to fly to Lanzarote for a week then onto Gran Canaria and return home from Gran Canaria for our honeymoon.
Been trying for weeks to contact Opodo, phones down, no e-mail to contact . I managed to cancel ground transfer after i was told our flight was cancelled. Reading small print i could get a full refund if i cancelled 48hrs before we were due, which was done, i then recieved vouchers, i dont want vochers as im never using Opodo again. Still have not been able to get hold of them to request refund for flight.

Refund for cancelled flight
You can't get hold of anyone, they don't react to any messaging on facebook customer service, emails. I've asked for a refund of my ticket several times for the past 3 weeks. By calling the call centre which is located in india. They say that they will respond by calling you within 48hrs, thats a lie. A message appears saying that they need the airline's approval, this is a lie as I had a seperate ticket for the same time period booked directly with the airline and this airline refunded the fare within 48hrs of me contacting them. I have spoken with turkish airlines twice (live persons) and they guaranteed me that there is no approval required from them to give me my refund. Opodo just seems like a big scam to hold on to your money. The are a shonky dishonest uk business.

Refunds for flights cancelled by easy jet & ryan air due to covid-19
2 flights booked - Ref. [protected] - EasyJet Bari to LGW - 24/3/20 - paid £77.61, and Ref. [protected] - Ryan Air - Brindisi to STN - 26/3/20 - paid £39.19, both flights for Lucy Rapoport.
After many attempts to speak to an agent, either online or on the phone, I have only been connected to the 'Robot', telling me to contact airlines direct, or that my reference numbers do not exist. I have confirmation emails with both reference numbers, and the airlines tell me to contact the agent I booked with.
I am very dissatisfied with this extremely poor service and expect a member of the Opodo team to contact me on [protected]@hotmail.co.uk

I have been 2 monthdchasing opodo for 2 refunds spending hours on hours on hold and got through 6 times and each time promise to send refunds. Ref [protected] easyjet gave them my cash refund of eur 175 on 25th march and opodo hasnt sent it to me yet. Ref [protected] opodo on 14th march said they will send refund but now saying they are waiting for atlantic airlines to confirm and atlantic airlines authorised opodo to claim my refund. This is no way to treat clients and is so unprofessional and unethical. I want my refunds which are my right urgently.. Lost my job and need that money which is mine by right

I booked flights to Tenerife with Opodo. On their web siteWizzair are offering vouchers or a refund but say I need to do so through my travel agent. Opodo will only email me regarding a voucher I would like a refund. I wait one hour on the phone and am then cut off. I rang a few days ago and the wouldn't recognise my booking

for me from Wizz Air to Opodo. The flight at Wizz Air was cancelled at 15 March.
Opodoalready charged me for your "excellent service" and if the money returned to you by Wizz Air is not returned to me it is a theft.
I made calls from Israel to London until there are no answers it costed me about 30 euro. I demand that cost too.
I demand also the return of Opodo charge for their "excellent service" since I did not receive any service and in the contrary.

Incorrect information given during phone call asking for update on booking.

Booked joint flight and hotel on 16th February. Flights with Flybe, Newquay to Amsterdam and return, hotel centre of Amsterdam.
Flybe went into liquidation, after no contact from Opodo telephoned their enquiries department on 7th March to ask for information on booking. Informed that I would be refunded the cost of the flights. I asked if I could have a refund on the hotel, we obviously could not take up the hotel accommodation if we could not get there and was told we were not entitled to a refund on the hotel part of the booking as it was still available.
We have since checked the Opodo booking terms and conditions and it states that if a booking consists of both flight and hotel both services will need to be cancelled. This did not happen. It also states that all hotel bookings can be cancelled up to the day before arrival.
On telephoning Opodo, there was a message stating that anyone with a hotel booking must contact the hotel themselves to cancel. We did so and asked about a refund, the hotel informed us that they had cancelled the booking but they would not give a refund directly and we would have to apply through Opodo. We have tried many times to get through to them with no success.
It seem that we were given the incorrect information on two counts:
Firstly the joint booking should have been cancelled automatically.
Secondly if the person we spoke to did not realise this, in the terms and conditions it states that all hotel bookings can be cancelled up to one day before arrival and could have cancelled the hotel booking under this condition and informed us whether we were entitled to a refund, which we would hope for. If we aren't entitled to a refund for the hotel part booking we need confirmation from Opodo that this is the case and we may be able to claim off our travel insurance.
We feel that the customer service we have received is totally unacceptable and the person I spoke to didn't seem to understand procedure.

Due to covid 19 had to change flight to get back earky. Was able to contact main airline but they can't change it brcause there was a block put on by opodo. Whom i presume wanted their cancellation fees even in this extraordinary times!.
Can't contact opodo. Can't change flights despite it say they are open 24/7.
Will never ever book with opodo again. Book with opodo at your peril

Owing to the corona virus i tried to cancel my flight with Qatar for my partner which was booked through Opodo who I have used many times before .I have not been able to get through to an agent as I was told i need to speak to someone on the phone to cancel.
the phone line is available 24/7 .However I have not been able to get through at 2 am. 3am and 4 m.The flight has now departed.
i am tired of getting through to chat bot and waiting for an agent to reply.
The final straw was when I received a message saying that no ENGLISH speaking agents are available.
i sent a letter by recorded delivery but have received no reply.
This is disgraceful service
Flexible Travel Date Policy
My 18 year old daughter and 3 friends bought tickets from Frankfurt to Mumbai on the Opodo website. They were offered a Flexible Travel Date Policy for 80 euros per person which they took.
It literally says "Enjoy the freedom to change your travel dates". Then it goes on to say that if you want to stay a few days longer, it is no problem and you can change your dates up until 24 hours before the flight.
My daughter and her friends would like to change their flights home and this is where we find out that this policy is operated by Europ Assistance, which does not change your dates, you have to cancel the old booking, buy a new ticket, and submit the old one for refund. You may be eligible for a refund but the price difference between old and new is at your expense. Plus the insurance policy does not talk about you not wanting to take the original flight, it talks about you not being able to take the original flight. So it is not even clear that the insurance will cover the costs of the original ticket.
I have done alot of travelling over the years, and worked in the airline industry, and I have never seen this.

6 weeks ago - I had booked a return flight with OPODO from London uk to India. Chennai.. as I was unable to book a return straight to London from Delhi. ( there was no option)..So I paid for the option to change the flight later, with the insurance ( protect your trip& date change £34+£41 =£75 plan. Paid the extra With booking - Then the insurance ( protect & date change plan was removed & no offer of a refund. Now.. Removing the option to change my flight straight back from Delhi to London
I telephoned & emailed to ask Change the return flight. ( which leaves from Delhi to London). Only Im told I have to return back to Chennai. . Then back to Dehli ( same day) then the return flight was cancelled . Without my ever being informed.. Only emails stating I had to contact opodo with a flight modification. ? Which after days of calling I was unable to.. although being instructed it was urgent. So spent 4 hours today. On the phone trying to make sense of what was going on.
- No . I can't fly to London straight from Delhi ... I have to return to Chennai. Then Delhi again. ( where I was a few hours previously.
All I wanted to do was to not fly back to Chennai from Delhi ( where I will already be staying) - to return to Chennai . To only ‘then' fly back again to Delhi. . Same day..!
I was told that because of thus request ( 3 weeks ago). The flight was cancelled. ?
Which I only found out today.. i leave in 3 days. And the stress and amount of time I've spent on the phone. It's outrageous., Sorry I koi's I m repeating myself. I'm exhausted. & very emotional.
If you look into my records. I have over the past 3 weeks phoned on a number ( prob 9 occasions ) to speak to someone. Always being cut off. Or told someone will return a call within 72 hours. After weeks of this. I then find out today MY RETURN FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED !
And my only option was to cancel my booking.. -buy another flight. with another airline. Costing more.
Only because if I don't return to Chennai from Delhi. To fly back to Delhi ( same day)
I will lose my flight .. ? How hard is it to speak to someone about this.
Opodo has caused the most stress ever, in my 40 years of flying.,
I have asked to be contacted by a supervisor that can understand that all I want to do it fly out back to London . From Delhi. Without my returning to Chennai . From Delhi the same day to return back to Delhi. Because the computer won't allow it. & to then know my booking Is actually insecure ? / having it cancelled without my confirming anything.
