A group of 12 of us ate at the Burleson, Tx Applebee's on April 10, 2025. The food was average, but one gentleman in our group didn't get his meal until everyone else was almost finished eating. We had arrived at 5pm and had to return to a meeting at 7pm. But assumed we had plenty of time since the restaurant was empty except for our group. For 12 people we only had 1 very overworked server. Her name is Madison M. and she was terrific. She did everything possible to take care of us and keep up with all the drinks and special request. ie: ketchup, steak sauce, extra dressings, more butter. She ran herself ragged seeing to all our needs. Meanwhile, all the other servers were in the bar area on their phones, talking laughing and were very loud doing it. They made no effort to help Madison other than to carry out 2 plates of food. Shameful.
We all felt very badly for Madison. As we had to return to our meeting, it got rather confusing when it came time to split the ticket between each of the couples. In the end she got it figured out and we were on our way. We made sure all the meals got paid for and made sure to tip Madison very very well. And, she deserved every penny. Thank you, Madison for taking such good care of us and being so kind. Madison was very polite, courteous and attentive. She should get the 5 star rating.
As we were leaving, the hostess came up to Madison and told her to hurry up because another couple had just come in. Meanwhile, the other servers are still standing around doing nothing, and she was supposed to stop finishing up with our group and take care of the new couple.
Needless to say, I would not recommend this restaurant. Find someplace where the servers WANT to serve!
