ordered 2 majic jacks for a special deal of $168 per day on a 30 day free trial/they charged my card $98 each & then said i orderd 2 /5year platinum plans which i had never even heard about and for sure did not order for 139.00 dollars /this overdrew my checking account by hundreds of dollars /the bank almost closed my account which i have my disability checks go automaticly deposited /that would have sent my checks back and i would not be able to pay all my bills /this company has n0 way to talk to a live person/my30 day money back time was a lie /i received these jacks on jan.19th was told that i had until feb. 5 to return these jacks or i would not be able to get my money returned/this was false advertisement and down right crooked/this caused me a lot of trouble and i would warn everyone to stay away from these creeps/ i have no idea when or if my money will be returned/i had to send these jacks back by priority mail with return date of delivery to a post office box not a physical address which should have alerted me in the first place/i wonder how many other older people on a set income they have done this to hoping that they would just chalk it up and not try and get a 30 day free trial that is really a15 day trial/ i hope and pray that i receive my refund/ i guess that i will lose what ever godly amount that their shipping charges are/please warn all other aarp members so they will not lose their valuable time and money.

i just add credit to my card and i cant make a call, cant get customer service no number, no one to talk to for help... i hate this service this is robberies i need my money back

I have had the magicjack installed for almost a year and have never experienced a problem yet, and I think its a great service for the price. Only cons I have are as follows...

1. They do put a hold on your bank account (unless you buy it from best buy or somewhere similar)
2. The computer you set it up on has to be powered on to make or receive calls. It also helps to have a fast internet connection as well for the best sound quality.

I just called my sister who lives 6 hours away, and it was just as good as a regular landline IMO. I recommend it highly!

I must disagree. I am an independent consumer and user of the magicJack and have no affiliation with the firm, whatsoever. I have had the magicJack.com within the past year since June, 2008. I have had no communications problems and although I do understand your having issues with their not having a live customer service representative to speak with via a real hand phone. However, they do have a virtual operator online. To ask any questions of them you must log onto the site (www.mymagicJack.com) and click on the "LIVE OPERATOR" ICON. I have just finished communicating with a female virtual operator today and she was quite curteous with proper customer service handling in answering my queries. Then after completing the q & a I was able to fill out a short survey at my discretion, with a favorable review. You might want to try following these steps to contact them and re-request any refunds that you need. But the service does work and is definitely NOT A SCAM.

I've had MajicJack for almost a year now. I ordered two but I only setup one. Service was spotty at best for the first two months. Then nothing, service stopped working (would not stay connected online) and No customer service--- period! No human customer service and online help never gets me anywhere. I unplugged the jack months ago. My fear --- annual renew is said to be automatic unless jacks are returned. Where to return the jacks and will I receive credit for the return? I'm afraid to chance the return and I'm afraid what they will do to my bank account for the auto-renewal!

My advise to anyone who hasn't bought into the MajicJack, is don't! You'd get more satisfaction from using two cans and a string. AT&T may be higher but at least it is there when I need it and I can always get a live person when I need to.

No live person to get a hold of. Credit card charged, item was shipped to wrong address in another country. Will not refund or ship out to correct address without further investigation? They agreed it was not my address, what else is required? Chat line must be answered in another country as the English was poor.

I occasionally get calls dropped, then about 10 minutes of no service. I just use it to forward my cell phone while at home. Guess I'm getting my $20 worth.

Actually I have had the opposite experience. Bought the majicjack at a Radio Shack for $40.00. Had a bit of difficulty setting up all the features. Used Customer Service chat feature to resolve it. Thing seems to work great. Since I bought it OTC can't comment on credit card misuse. Would not use it as my only phone, but, was able to eliminate one of my 2 $24.95 Vonage lines saving about $250.00 per year.

I am glad people put there comments on the net! This just proves that people only looking for a quick buck and the way the economy is that is really bad. My brother told me it was a scam but my father wanted to order it but i printed this information and reconsidered. Thank you all!

There appear to some glitches in this majicjack I ordered.
I plugged in a digital, and regular phone; but is still dropped
calls, and bad reception. They don't seem to have a contact number
for complaints. There has also been an unauthorized charge by them.

What kinda problem is "it doesn't work" - Honestly, get a friggen better connection then dialup you might have some good results.

PLEASE TRY THIS!first off let me say, i am not very computer knowledgable at all and a very slow typist to boot. I tried majicjack in spain at first and worked great. plug it in and the steps to do pop right up on the screen. no problem, very easy even for me. tried on home computer, wouldnt work. tried to find website to get ph# cause no listing. found this and became worried. went to majicjack.com and followed steps. JUST LOOK FOR WINDOW TO CLICK THAT SAYS LIVE PERSON AT EACH SCREEN. IT TAKES ABOUT 3 CONSECUTIVE SCREENS OF CLICKING THAT. im smart, but quite computer stupid, yet i had no problem connecting to live person via texting and normally hate that kind of stuff. i told him i was slow typer and computer stupid. he walked me through everthing for a quick download upgrade and works great again. my personal experience has been great. hope this helps everyone. good luck, kevin

I agree with most of the posts her. I also ordered the majicjack and to date have not been able to make one decent phone call. Their online support is the horrible. One run around after another. I do believe their so called online support is coming from India or some other foreign country as it seems they do not understand english . When you ask for someone to call they inform you that they have no phone to call. What a joke ! I would not recommend this to anyone, it is totally a waste of your money. I seriously doubt that if I send this back that I would even be able to get a refund. I will be contacting BBB to file a complaint, hopefully we will be able to get this company shutdown before to many others waste their money on this faulty product.

So far my call quality is terrible.I hear the called party just fine but they say they can't hear me well at all if it dials properly in the first place.
Customer service is horrible and if you ever get a live person by phone (pretty ironic that they don't seem to have phone service themselves) please let me know how. That inventor should be ashamed of dragging his daughter into this scam. If it doesn't get better I'm sure some major class action suits will be filed because they are probably raking in huge sums of money for a bad product! I'm definitely Gonna make them do right or lets shut these con artists down. If we can elect a black president we can do anything including shutting down bad businesses!

when i ordered this majicjack, i was told a lie causing me to spend $50. 00 and now with my att.service i was paiding two phone bills. i've been trying too reach you, and your company too cancel this off my phone cause majicjack is in my desk drawer as i write this letter. so please cancel this number off of my phone bill now 764-0513 but it back on credit please .i did keep my reciept.

I ordered the Magic Jack at the recommendation of the installer of my high speed internet. He recommended Magic Jack over Vonage... I have had Vonage for over 4 years without ever a problem, but since Magic Jack came under recommendation, I figured I would try it. By the way, I kept Vonage while waiting for the Magic Jack order to arrive.

Well, I checked my billing statement today and found that I have been charged $93.80 twice on two different dates! So, I called my bank and they provided me with the number as listed on the billing charge (281.404.1551). I was advised by my bank to call Magic Jack to have this resolved. I called, spoke with a MJ Representative and she did not appear to understand what I was explaining... All in all, I canceled my order. Now I must call my bank and report fraudulent charges.

Vonage may be more expensive than Magic Jack, but it is still cheaper than the phone company... Still, keep in mind, Vonage advertises on commercial television and Magic Jack does not... That must speak something of the company, right?!

My vote, Vonage!

I did not order this product because I couldn't speak with a live person when ordering. I am glad I didn't after reading the comments on your site. I did look up Majic Jack on the internet as well and still did not see any contact information without having to register with them. NOT a great idea. I think they need to be shut down.

TOTAL RIP-OFF! Do NOT buy it. There is no live person or phone number to contact anyone and I could not get an area code in my area so it made me choose Chicago 5 hours away so if someone calls me it will charge them long distance. Bad connection when I finally did connect after 40 minutes then busy signal on numbers that weren't busy. I want to return it and get full refund but no address to return it to!

hello i am using this majickjack of my sister her husband is in canada and my fiancee is in u.s.a. at first i really love it but after a month we found out that my fiancee's bill become 1800usd usually his bill is just 200usd we are so upset, we try to contact them but no contact number at all...we don't know what to do so pls. be carefull.we are planning to report this.I dont know if this is a ###, we are so disappointed!I THINK WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS-charmaine hernandez

i got screwed also. i received the majicjack but it doesnot work. they billed my visa card at once and visa paid. i called the majicjack phone number [protected] and it just disconnected me over and over. i have not been able to get a customer service number or a real person on the phone. nothing ever appears on the screen when i try to get them on the internet. the whole thing is a ripoff. visa will not stop paying them! they say i have to write to them first. where! they have no address!
visa turns out to be a help to them to get you ripped off.

don't, don't, don't, don't buy a majicjack., or i'll sell you the brookland bridge, stupid.
