Lightintheboxbad business practice

Lightinthebox is an awful place to do business. I ordered a dress from the company after reading their "mission statement" and testmonials from previous customers. They advertised their ability to make a dress in 12-14 business days. Privided you pay for the extra shipping, the dress would then arrive in 3-5 days. All I can say is lies, lies, lies! They advertise the amount of days but that's false. They give you a contact number to call but nobody ever answers. You either get the answering machine telling you to leave a message or you hear mailbox is full, no doubt from the calls of other pissed of customers leaving messages! Their on-line chat is a scam. I used this feature several times. When I grew to be a pain in the ### they stopped chatting with me. You have to begin the on-line chat by entering you email address. I guess when I would sign on using my email address the intake would flag it and wouldn't patch me in to anyone. I would just get a message stating someone would be with me as soon as possible. I signed on to the on-line chat service using a different email address and low and behold, someone responded! They asked me for my account number to check my account, the next thing I knew I received a message telling me to hold for "gugu" the name of a different operator. Needless to say "gugu" never came to chat with me. I email them, they don't respond for days but if you read their advertisement, they say they respond in 24 hours. I have the emails to prove when I sent an email to them and their email to show when they responded. None of the operators speak english well and alot of the messages they send are computer generated! When you ask about the product you ordered, they say that it's in "packaging". I think that's their standard text book answer. To present and future customers, all I can say is BEWARE!!!

    I ordered curtains and at one time the website stated my order has shipped blah blah. NOW today I'm checking my shipping /Tracking. The website is now showing NO ORDER.. I either want my curtains or I want my VISA card refunded for the full amount. I have copies of my order status to prove I've ordered these curtains and payment was processed. Thank you

    I wanna buy wedding dress on Lightinthebox, but i don't have any ordered experience from them and i like several style dresses.now, it's weekly deal and dresses are 75% off shipping, it's a good news, but they do not have color swatches to send out, so i'm afraid receiving one bridesmaid dress being the wrong color.Has anyone ordered from them and had a good experience?Give me some suggesistons.

    I'm sorry you were caught off guard on the import tax. We actually suggest our customers to read on Customs & Tariffs on our Knowledge Base, there we offer a link to send custom inquiries at the time of purchase.     I have paid for my three items in full now UPS took my parcel away because I never had £28 payment at the door there was NOTHING. On the website about paying extra import taxes I want my £90 back I'm a working single mom and can never afford these kind of luxuries so I treated myself on my credit card and now can't get in touch with anyone to get my money back or at least delivery with no extra charges

    I ordered cell phone from LightInTheBox.com. The price mentioned on their website was $60 but they charged me $126 for some reason. I can’t return the money via PayPal as they claim that it is too late. The seller doesn’t want to return the money too. But I don’t want this cell phone anymore!!!

    This place is the biggest ripoff I have ever seen. They sent me a defective netbook which I returned to them in the middle of January and they have not do right by me. They keep promising to send me a replacement then the next email I get is that they will send me a refund. I would not purchase anything from these people, they are not reputable and they are not reliable.

    I recently purchased a video surveillance clock. The directions were impossible to read. I had to enlarge them several times to read them.Now I can read them but they were impossible to understand and follow.No luck. After being told to buy a new memory card via e-mail from the company, I still cannot get the motion function to work or set the time. After four additional e-mails, they have stopped writing to me altogether.

    The clock was way over priced and I have learned my lesson - NEVER to buy from them again.

    This company is based out of China. Despite their process and assurances regarding delievery, my dress came three weeks AFTER it should have arrived. Additionally, the dress was stuffed into a shoebox - I was incredulous when I opened it. To boot-the band that covered the chest area wasn't even large enough to cover nipples. After several rounds of email complaints and a threat to report them, they agreed to perform a return. Then, they came up with an insane financial return, claiming that it could take my bank 3-6 weeks to process the return.

    Omg! I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the package delivered to me containing the dress I ordered. First of all the dress was inside out and not presssed, like it came right off the sewing machine and stuffed into the envelope! After I turned it right side, I noticed the sequince on the front of the dress was not like it was pictured. I was scared to try the dress on and afraid it would not fit but fortunetly it did... barely.

    I would be careful of this company, I think they are pretty shady. I know I won't take the chance again.

    I ordered a light fixture from them. It was pretty inexpensive, but looked great in the pictures. It arrived quickly and was stunning. Everyone who saw it couldn't believe it came from some junky store in China...and folks this is from China... so I say deal with them at your own risk. Why buy something from a foreign country if you have a deadline? I only order when I have the time to wait and not something that I have to have by a deadline. Sometimes the items are going to be great and sometime they are not.

    I ordered 2 light up dog collars mid Dec 2015, money was taken out of my account 30th Dec 15 and as yet I have not received the goods. When I sign in to track my order there is no record of it. I cannot find a phone number to contact them directly.

    I bought on the 17/11/2015 the above mentioned article I received it on the 30/11/2015 but what seems a size M was to small it it should probably fit a 12 year child so I want it send it back or want my money back

    I ordered my purchase on June 23, it just came today, August 13. So it takes at least 50 to 60 days to arrive... They advertise on their web site 20 days.

    You would be wise to cancel your order and get product elsewhere, they denied my perfectly good card too, prob just to get card info. Alert your card company to watch your card carefully. And find someplace else to shop, google light in the box complaints online and you will be shocked to see hundreds, if not thousands of complaints. Protect yourself!!! You will never be able to get in touch with anyone, this is a scam/sham company.

    Same situation happened to me too. I have just bought 2 bridsmaid from lightinthebox and paid £12 postage. Only to be told I now need to pay a further £18 postage/ customs fee. There was no mention of this on the site. I felt i was set up. The bridesmaid dress i bought from Abbydress last time included postage. I regret not have shopped on that site.

    Do not recommend ordering from this website!!! I ordered 2 bridesmaids dresses from them and received three charges on my bank account, the third extra didn't even match other two. They also have no after sale customer service, no phone numbers nothing, wrote a ticket and the person claimed they had no record of charge. Have had to cancel debit card and wait for bank to send me form. They need to be reported for this!!

    yes, really that Lightinthebox.com are not a good choice for online shopping. It's terrible. I also ordered online though I read a lot of complaints yet I still try but when I experiencing it now I feel so bad. I have a problem for the confirmation of my order, it said I wait within 2 days for the confirmation. I chat to their representatives and they gave me different reasons that so annoying because even their rules in their site are not followed and their emails are not accurate. :(

    I have ordered a dress for my girl on the 22nd of March, 2013 and as of today April 11, 2013 it has not even been shipped. This is a heart braking outcome for me because my daughter's First Communion is this Sunday which means I have to go and buy her another dress as this one will not be delivered in time. The customer support system is terrible at Lightinthebox.com because there is no way to get with customer service to resolve it. I am very disappointed. My order number is [protected].
