LG Electronics 3d television

we recently brought a television from comet, the sales man recommended the 3D LG wide screen LED television, we were told it was the best television they had. so we purchased the television £500 with £150 insurace, 2 months later the screen stopped working, we contacted comets insurance and they sent some one to fix it, then they came and said that it was unfixable. so we could get a new television. we were sent out a voucher to take to comet to get a new television, and when we took it to comet, we were told we cannot use the voucher as they are closing down, so we have to go back to the insurance company to get a refund, the television broke well within 12 months and should have been covered under warrenty so insurance wasnt needed, also i would like my money back for the insurance as we will never be able to use it as they are closing down

LG Electronics against dealer

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a defence personnel presently posted to Sulur, Coimbatore. I booked a LG microwave oven through Canteen Store Department (CSD) Chennai. The details of the booking are as follows:

DD No. 206274 dt 24 sep 2012
OR No 133074
Item index no 21327 LG M/Oven
Model no 3087 30lts FUPG
PO No 125795 dt22 oct 2012
SR No 120700
Supplier code 5210
Date of payment and delivery order – 22 oct 2012

I had specifically requested for FUPG model through demand application as well as telephonically to the dealer prior to purchase. The contact person Mr Prithivi Rajan ( mo no [protected]) who also claimed himself to be the owner of the only authorised dealer M/S Jai Hind Associates, Chennai who supplies through CSD had said then that the specific model FUPG will take some time since the said model was in short supply. I had confirmed him that I am ready to wait and insisted on the specific model only.
After one and half month despite my willingness to wait for the specific model ie FUPG he has forced me to take AUPG model stating that LG company has supplied AUPG model against my supply order and he cannot do anything about it. When spoken to Mr Prithivi Rajan ( mo no [protected]) on mobile after he has forced his product what he wanted against customer’s will he was arrogant on phone and said that I have no choice but to accept the product since it was supplied directly by the company against my supply order and he or me cannot do anything about it but to lump it.
From the above incident it is evident that LG product supplier for CSD for whole of Tamilnadu is the above mentioned dealer and hence dictates his monopoly.
After the incident the matter was taken up with LG customer care at no [protected] and Voice Of Customer (VOC) was requested to be raised. Following are the diary of events for the complain:
01-12-2012 1645hrs Lodged complain with LG customer care and requested to raise VOC. Complain taken by Mr Salman,
RNA no [protected]
03-12-2012 1130hrs No response by LG, reminder for the complain take by Mr Rajesh
04-12-2012 1515hrs Still no response by LG, Reminder for complain taken by M/s Silvanani
Call forwarded to Mr Siddesh (low superwiser) advised to call one Mr Kartic sales person at Coimbatore on mo no [protected]. The mo was s/w off for the day.
05-12-2012 1450hrs Mr Prakash from LG service centre called up from mo no [protected] and heard the details of my complain.
05-12-2012 1900hrs Mr Parthivan from LG service centre Tirupur called up and said that LG service center cannot do anything about the matter and closed the case.
It has become clear that none of the above mentioned has guided or say interested in guiding me in the correct direction to go about my complain.
It is now evident from the above fact that LG is more into pushing their product through specially when the customer is buying the product through CSD rather than taking interest into customer satisfaction.
It is therefore requested that the matter may please be looked in favourably and necessary steps may be initiated so that I get the desired model of microwave oven.

Thanking you

With regards,
Partha Sarkar, Mo no [protected], Email Id [protected]@rediffmail.com

LG Electronics tv front panel broken when taken for repair

Dear sir,
I had bought a TV LG LE 32 LE 7500 on july 4 th 2012. The next day itself there was some problem . The company sent service person and change a component inside after which it worked properly for 15 days. Then again the same problem repeated. This time they told us that it should be taken to the workshop for repair. They took the TV and after 40 days they returned the tv. We did not notice initially on the day they installed the TV. The next day we saw a Screw protecting from behind on to the front panel and there was a crack on the front panel. I complained the customer service so many times and they are putting the blame on us and not accepting the fault of theirs which is clearly seen . Till now it is not resolved. Its been more than one and half months. No action has been taken so far. During this time, again the problem recurred and they just replaced the component and not the broken front panel. What a pathetic service they provide and worst company or for that TV system they have.

LG Electronics lg mobile phone e400 data storage problem

My wife bought me an LG E400 mobile phone for my birthday in September. As she bought it well be fore my birthday it could not be returned because of the "Out of box" 7 day conditions. When I tried to download some apps for the phone, I found that the memory filled up after very little space had been used and the phone could not send any SMS`s or download anything at all. I played around with the settings as I saw that all the downloads were going directly to the phones system memory and not the phones internal memory. I checked all the settings and found there was the option to move the apps to the phone. This particular command would not light up or enable so that the apps still stayed in the phones system memory (Which is used to run the Android system. The down loads were not going to the right place on the phone which is the phones internal memory. I inserted an SD card and tried to see if I could move the downloads to the SD card. The is again in the phone management menu whereby you can set downloads to automatically download to the SD card, but even after enabling this, the downloads continued to download in to the system memory.
I took the phone back and it was sent away for repair. It was five weeks later I got the phone back and it still had the same problem. I got the Consumers Council involved and I received a new phone. I was disappointed to see that this phone has exactly the same problem.
LG are not being too helpful and Vodacom just do not want to understand the problem even though there is a service centre right here in Richards Bay.

As I have had now two new E400 phone, I think the phone has in inherent software problem, though nobody wants to admit it. I have a phone that does not do the functions that it is supposed to do.

Maybe you can investigate this and see if it is a common problem for this type of phone.

Regards

Maurice Foulger

LG Electronics defective tv right from the time of purchase

Ever since I have purchasers the TV from day 3 out started giving problems, I have spent a lot of money time and am harassed beyond tolerance now.

No matter what part is changed the TV keeps switching on and off on its own.

Each time parts take Weeks to months to come and in few weeks again the same problem reoccurs.

Either the piece is completely faulty or it is a wrong secession to ever buy an lg product.

Dear sir,

I was working in the retail field but was not aware of the problem. Later on i came to know about the problem. The best way to about it is to file a case against ( in consumer forum) Lg since this is manufactured problem. We all should join together since my TV is also giving same problem and not being used now.

LG Electronics broken compressor

I bought an LG fridge that i paid 2445.00$, 5 1-2 years ago and my compressor broke 2 months ago and after 6 technician's later and 400$ later of service fees, LG Canada tells me they don, t make that part anymore.so they gave me an option to get a new fridge but with a depreciated value on my 5 1-2 year old existing fridge that they can, t repair anymore of 1550.00$ only if i buy another LG fridge.I can.t understand that they don, t make parts on a 5 year old fridge. After 2 months of being given the run around, i don, t know what to do. I've called numerous times, transferred from one person to the next and always having to start explaining myself again. Lack of service and not getting anything done about this urgency. I don, t have a FRIDGE for the past 2 months, i have a 5 year old and living out a cooler. I should be compensated for something that is Lg problem. They stopped making this part.. Buy a fridge and stop making parts 5 years later... wow life is good, for LG.

I am experiencing the same issue with my LG Fridge at the moment. The warranty appears to cover the repair or replacement of the fridge, but they're offering me a pro-rated amount based on the 6-years I've had the fridge and an expected 10-year lifespan. I have logged a complaint with the BBB here: https://kitchener.ebindr.com/complaint/view/1301991/c/y9q2yb

Was there any resolution to your issue?

My glass shattered and I didn't do anything. I haven't used the oven in over a month. I went to work and when I came home there was glass all over the floor. I didn't slam it shut and I didn't hit it. The glass just shattered.

LG Electronics poor customer service

I was trying to get LG to stand behind their product and fix a small issue I had especially since it was a little over the three month mark on my manufacturers warranty of just one year old. I would not ask if it were at least 6 or so months over even though no failure should happen to a well made product and very expensive I might add. LG could care less about me any longer. They do not care that I was a very faithful purchaser of the LG product line...
I can say at this juncture they will never see another purchase from me. I wil however be checking complaint boards from now on...I did not do that before going out and purchasing LG products...it truly is buyer beware. If it is out of warranty even a little...do not expect them to help. Also be careful with purchasing an extended warranty becasue many stores use third party contractors and you are at the mercy whether your issue will be truly resolved.
Apparently even in these troubling economic times actual customer friendly service is non existant.

PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH LG or any appliance company check out their customer help or service and you will be more prepared.

This is showing to be a very sorry company to have bought ANY product from. However I will be more vigilent to the complaint forums next time I need to purchase any thing like appliances etc. I have right now MANY LG products but let it be known LG has lost a very loyal customer over a small repair...NICE to have done business with you NOT!
I can say it will NEVER happen again. I am forwarding this onto the corporate headquarters as well. This is why you do NOT keep customers...REALLY

9:17 AM deborah seffinga: no I did not
9:17 AM Rodrigo: I see
9:17 AM deborah seffinga: it came up you ended the session
9:17 AM Rodrigo: that weird
9:17 AM deborah seffinga: I was waitiing... unless there is a time limit on responses
9:17 AM Rodrigo: Ok, is regarding the warranty issue correct
9:18 AM deborah seffinga: what do you mean
9:18 AM deborah seffinga: is that the purchase date?
9:18 AM Rodrigo: your case
9:18 AM deborah seffinga: yes it is
9:18 AM Rodrigo: is it regarding the warranty.
9:19 AM deborah seffinga: well I would assume so. No one expects a Refridgerator to have an issue as soon as the warranty is past and just by a small amount
9:20 AM deborah seffinga: I just do not want this issue to drag on. They are going to help me or not that is the bottom line there are no gray areas. They keep a customer or kick them to the curb it is LG's call
9:21 AM deborah seffinga: I wanted LG to have a chance to do the right thing by a customer and not have to ump through hoops simply because they are a great company and customer concerned. In this bad economy I cannot even fathom that they have to mull this over.
9:22 AM Rodrigo: Ok, my supervisor is checking on the case .
9:23 AM deborah seffinga: well it truly is either / or...I just want ice again.

9:29 AM deborah seffinga: for what?
9:29 AM deborah seffinga: are they denying me the help?
9:30 AM Rodrigo: Unfortunately we are unable to cover it and that is what i was told.
9:30 AM Rodrigo: But isnt it the date of purcahse 11 15 2011
9:31 AM Rodrigo: do you have the receipt
9:31 AM deborah seffinga: ok this this and the rest of the transcripts will indeed be put on the customer complaint page along with ALL the other customers whom have done business with LG in hopes that they give a crap...which they do not
9:31 AM deborah seffinga: yes I do! I said that
9:32 AM deborah seffinga: I wil probably take this to court because it is simply shamefull and one way or another LG WILL take responcibility with or without my loyalty
9:33 AM Rodrigo: But is in warranty then
9:33 AM Rodrigo: Hold one.
9:33 AM deborah seffinga: also my floor is warped and I did not even ask for any one to take that damage into consideration. IT WAS THE LEAST LG COULD DO
9:33 AM Rodrigo: On
9:33 AM Rodrigo: you said you have the receipt. correct
9:34 AM deborah seffinga: no May 2d1
9:34 AM deborah seffinga: may 21 2011
9:37 AM Rodrigo: Ok, unfortunately yes out of warranty but let me transfer you over to see what my supervisor can do.

9:37 AM Notice: Rodrigo has exited the chat session.
9:37 AM deborah seffinga: I am so really livid at this point. it is almost laughable at the unconcern...I will not buy LG EVER AGAIN plus this goes online for all to see and they can determine if they want to take a chance with this company for future purchases I know I won't
9:39 AM deborah seffinga: REALLY a small repair and you cannot do this? and keep the customer happy with possible future purchases?
9:42 AM John: hello

9:44 AM deborah seffinga: You know if this were not swo close to the end of my warranty I could understand the issue. What I do not understand is the attitude I am getting

LG Electronics persistent gas leakage problem in split ac

I have bought split AC in 2009 which is under AMC currently.
Recently I moved to some other place and LG person (or may be some other person to whom LG hires on contract basis for installation)
has reinstalled my AC. From then onwards in every 15 days, I have to get gas refilled in my AC.
LG service persons are not able to identify the leakage. Everytime I have specifically told them that there was a leakage and first try
to find that and then fill the gas. In the end they always used to come up with an excuse that they have fixed something and gas should not leak.

I have got gas refilled in my AC 4 times in last 2 months. Now again cooling is gone. Everytime I have lodged the complaint I have specifically
mentioned that the problem was persistent and requested to send someone who could identify the leakage and fix the problem, but all in vain.
Is there anyone listening in LG and willing to hear customer complaints.

LG Electronics appliances are terrible

My son bought new "high efficiency" LG top-load washer and "no iron" dryer to replace a mismatched, second-hand set of appliances I had been happily using for several years. The LG appliances have such a poor quality outcome, I dread even using them.
The washer doesn't get clothes clean. It's not "high efficiency" when you wash everything twice before putting them in the dryer.
Even then, the amount of dog hair and dirt that is caught in the dryer's lint screen is amazing. That wouldn't be there if the clothes
were clean coming out of the washer. On top of that, half of the clothes may be tied in knots or wound up like a very tight screw.
The "no iron" dryer is certainly a misnomer! Clothes that never even need pressing before come out wrinkled beyond wearing capability, and the steam cycle on the dryer is totally useless so don't even waste your time and energy using it.
How can companies continue to produce and sell such poor quality appliances with no repercussions? If there are no laws in place to protect consumers from this type of theft, there should be.

LG Electronics weasles out of warranty

I own a LG Clothes Washer, model WM0624HW/01. The direct drive motor supposedly had a 7 year warranty on it. The rotor has plastic (!) splines in it that attach to the drum shaft to wash and spin the clothes. It (of course, it's plastic!) stripped out after 3 years of normal household use. I contacted LG to get a replacement (I have been repairing appliances for 20+ years professionally, I KNOW what I am doing), they absolutely refused.. They said:

"Thank you for contacting LG Electronics/. I am delighted to hear from you as our valued customer and I will be glad to answer your concern|. I apologize for the inconvenience you’re having with|.

Drum motor such as stator, rotor and hall sensor has a seven year warranty from the date of purchase". Yes, the motor is still in warranty as I checked based on the serial number you provided:. The washer has a 1 year warranty for parts and labor from the date of purchase but has exclusion for warranty of other parts as stated in the warranty page in the owner’s manual?.

For the replacement of the said part, it should be done by one of our LG technicians or authorized service technicians/. The technician will order the part for you as soon as the unit is checked upon technicians visit, or will install it for you if the part is available upon service visit. Let me provide our rates for the labor.

For LG technicians:

Diagnosis - $89

Minor repair - $150 + tax & parts

Major repair - $225 + tax & parts

I apologize I don’t have the information for the rate fee for our authorized service technician, they have different rate scheme than our own LG technicians.

I hope I was able to help you with your concern. If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email, or by calling our customer service division at [protected] at your convenience.

Thank you for choosing LG!

Albert

LG Customer Service"

I called Albert and told him I was a qualified appliance repair person, and it only took me 10 minutes to diagnose and remove the offending part, please just send me the part. He absolutely refused. In order to get it replaced under warranty, I would have to spend $239.00 in labor. The part is available to me wholesale for $73.11, and it will take me 5 minutes to replace it. Of course I will bite the bullet and buy the part myself. What gripes me is that the part is under warranty but I cannot get the part. LG has figured out a way to screw me out of the warranty they supposedly provide. Even worse, the replacement part is "new and improved" with METAL splines in it, proving LG knew there was a problem and are refusing to do anything about it

Bottom line: I will never, ever buy anything from LG ever again. LG = Latest Garbage. This is not the first LG appliance I have had problems with, but it WILL be the last.

LG Electronics 3 yr old fridge not working

I bought a new LG refrigerator 3 yrs ago, along with an extended warranty for a further 2 yrs. ontop of the mfg. warranty. It was delivered early July 2009. After being away for a few days, I came home to find that the fridge was not working at all. Needless to say, I had to throw out a lot of perishables. Upon calling Leon's customer service I was advised that the warranty had ran out and that Leon's could not accept responsiblity for the repairs. The extended warranty had only ran out approximately 3 weeks prior to the fridge dying! I spoke to a manager named Sandy, and she told me that Leon's could not accept responsibility tof the repairs...almost sounded like they all had a sheet that they read off of.
I have made numerous purchases from Leon's over the years that they have been in business, but I will never buy from them again. Customer service is not available to those who buy top end appliances that stop working a few weeks after the extended warranty that they have bought, runs out!

I have sent claim form on 14.09.09 to Spectramind Marketing Pvt. Ltd. for free installation of Airtel DTH Set up box as offered while purchasing 26' LG LCD TV. My form no. is 329333. But till today, I have'nt got any feedback or services. It appears to be clear cut case of cheating. Mind that you are unpopularising your products through such fraud. Plz do the needful at the earliest

LG LCD TV - CRACK ON CENTER OF THE SCREEN. I just bought an Lcd Tv yesterday 25/11/14 for cash from MANI`S ELECTRONICS IN PIETERMARITZBURG. During the connection time only to see that there is a crack on the centre of the tv. I took it back to the shop but they said they cannot help me. Now I realise being a foreigner in a foreign land we are neglected... I phoned an LG firm in Johannesburg reporting but the main aim was to ask if they can repair it for me but their respond was take it back to the shop. WHen I bought it it wasnt tested and the crack cannot be identiefied when its off only when you switch it on then you can see it.

You need to buy a plasma. Forget all you hear about glare in a bright room. I have two Panasonic Plasmas. Paid much less and get a great picture. Blacks and whites are brilliant. TV sales people want you to spend the most. Plasmas are the way to go.

LG Electronics lousy product support - no warranties

I recently bought 3 sets of LG TrueSteam Washers & Dryers (less than 1 year ago), along with several large screen LG Smart TVs, for a new house I built with suites. Unfortunately there has been a confusion about when I bought & when I received the appliances; however these appliances have been only in use for 5 months. Both Dryers are not working; one does not heat at all & the other is not drying properly.

I have always thought that LG Electronics was a good, reputable company & in the past I have gotten good service; thus why I spent almost $20, 000 on new LG products HOWEVER something has gone greatly wrong with their Customer Service. I can only assume that upper management has changed direction and gone from a customer-oriented company; to a company that looks to save money by not honoring warranties. Their Customer Service has gone out of its way to avoid the warranty using every excuse they can find...the latest being that I purchased Extended Warranty and should use it.

Bottomline, LG has gone from a SMART company to a very inept company, where it's Marketing Department spends 100s of $Millions on acquiring customers while their Customer Service simply in turn drives them away. This is not only lousy service but also poor business. It is far cheaper to support & keep a loyal customer than it is to acquire new. So either Marketing has gotten incompetent or somehow their efforts are being derailled and they cannot do anything.

Either way they have just lost a long time loyal and large customer.

PS
I am a builder & I have to stand being my properties SO I will never purchase LG appliances again nor would advise any other commercial builder to do so; we have enough headaches without needing to deal with companies like LG Electronics who seeks to get out of warranty repairs.

LG Electronics double oven

We purchased an LG double wall oven from US-Appliance.com. Our dealings with this company were excellent. Model number LWD3081ST 30" SN#810KMCB00331 for $2879.10 on 9/2/10. In October 2011 the upper oven stopped heating with an error code of F9. AAMP Appliance Repair found that it needed two new thermostats for a total repair of $324. Now 9 months later we are getting the same error code and I suspect the same problem. I have contacted LG to see if they would be willing to help defray the cost of a second repair in less than a year. I spoke with J. who gave me a case number of [protected], asked me to fax the original receipt copy which I did as well as the repair receipt. She said she would see if her boss would approve some adjustment. We just got a call from an LG rep who states that since it is out of warranty (one year on oven, 90 days on repair parts) they are not willing to do anything to help us.

Please keep this in mind if you are considering the purchase of LG appliances. BTW we also have an LG cooktop, LG French door refrigerator, LG washer and dryer, and several LG TV's. This made absolutely no difference either.

LG may say "Life's Good" but they don't care about their customers apparently.

Update by Disappointed LG customer

16 August 2013 Well guess what? F9 error code again. As I recall LG told me at the last repair that if it failed again they would consider a buyback. I called LG and spoke with a manager and was told since it was out of warranty - we purchased it in 2/09 - that there was nothing they would do. Not could do would do. It came with a one year warranty. The first time it failed was right after the warranty expired and we had not purchased an extended service plan. As I am not willing to spend another $300 - 400 to have it repaired again, I called the merchant from whom we purchased the model LWD3081ST for $2879.10. They are at least willing to sell us the newer model LWD3010ST at cost. We will definitely be buying the service contract. Hopefully there has been a design change. Why would we buy LG again? To match our other LG kitchen appliances and frankly when it works it works great and looks great. We bought the extra racks so with convection bake it can crank out cookies.
First I would say to those who read this that if you have a problem with your LG appliance, LG will NOT help you. If you are remodeling your kitchen I would go with another brand such as Kitchenaid or GE. Had I gotten any concession from LG today I would gladly have posted it. I told them that all I could do was warn other consumers about LG. Her comment, "Sorry you feel that way." 3K purchase price, $800 in repairs, and now facing another $300+ repair. How would she feel? They don't care. I have full documentation of the date and costs of repairs and a copy of the purchase receipt.
Our advice: first buy another brand, if you do buy LG by all means get the extended service contract, odds are you will need it.
Attached is a picture of the part that goes out. It costs $1.50. I could probably replace it myself, but pulling the oven (300#) out without the special cart the repair guy has will be a bear and doing it again every year is daunting.
Hope this helps someone not make the same mistake we made.

I agree. I also purchased this oven and an extended warranty from the place of purchase. At just about 3 years the oven threw the F9 error as above. It has been repaired once and now three months later it needs it again. One friend who is a service tech looked up the LG oven for me and found that there is a service bulletin on this oven for thermostat issues. The warranty service tech told me that I should avoid using the self clean functions on this oven as it fries the thermostat faster. I had only used it once a year until then. So not only does it break down frequently and they know it, you also should not use all the functions of the oven. I am trying to escalate with my extended warranty to invoke a clause to get a gift card for the purchase price of the ovens so that I can research and buy another brand of double wall oven. I think I am out of luck with the lemon laws as it states that you have to have 3 repairs under the original mfg warranty to qualify.
I am a chef but do not use this appliance for my business as I cook in my clients homes. I had a GE range and oven before this and never had an issue. I would not recommend LG to anyone. I too have all LG in my kitchen when I totally redid the kitchen in 2009. I am unhappy with the design on the fridge - it is too warm on the top unless I make it colder then the veggies in the drawers freeze. The water dispenser on top and front of the ice dispenser confuses everyone and then there are puddles on the floor. Also it does not dispense chilled water - just tap temp water. Other fridges do chill the water so why not this one?
I do not like the ice crusher - it does not do a good job and it jams with full size ice. I use the included ice bucket but then you lose half of the top freezer drawer.
I also replaced the LG microwave shortly after installation due to a fire a nanny started. I did not get the LG again as I did not have enough control of the defrost cycle - too automatic and often cooked the food. It did have a nice bright light that I do miss.
My washer has been an issue from the beginning. Too noisy and shakes the whole house despite several service calls while under warranty. They say it is because I have it on a base and on the main floor not on concrete . That is just not true as I have a friend that has a lower LG model than me and in the same circumstances and it does not shake her house.
I also have their cooktop. Design flaw - having the controls in the front between two burners - if water splashes out of a pan onto the controls or drips from a pan lid you are holding the whole panel blinks. If you do not wipe off the water fast enough, the range will not respond and you have to turn it off at your circuit box before you can reset it. Very inconvenient safety feature. Controls should be to the side of the burners so that this is less likely to occur. Also you have to be sure not to set anything near the control panel that is heavy or it may turn on or off units on the cook top. So think TWICE before buying LG for any appliance.
It is beginning to appear that the company is designing appliances to make it just out of the mfg warranty period before breakdown so they are not on the hook for replacement or repair.
