We purchased a leather sofa set for our family room and the sales rep did a great sales job selling us the protection warranty saying that if there are any spills, burns or rips they would repair or replace the items. They even gave us a moisturizing and cleaning kit to preserve the product. We've had the sofas for about 4 years now (still covered under the 5 year warrnty) and have been using the care products they provided. We noticed that the sofa leather began to crack around the base of the sofas so we called our warrenty provider (a third party sold through Leons) They sent someone to the house and told us they only cover accidents and this is considered wear and tear. This made no sense at all because as I understand it, I could take a knife (accidentally rip my sofa) and they would fix it but because the material is cheap and doesnt keep well then I have to keep it and they wont do anything. My advice is to never buy any furniture protection ever! Such a scam!

I bought a fridge from leons and had it delivered. Two days later I had a bottle of ketchup fall off the shelf and it hit the bottom panel between the shelf and outer fridge.
Instantly put a big hole in the fridge.
I think over the years with children, ...I have never had a cheap plastic fridge like leons sold me. I bought Xtra warranty for the fridge as well.
The manager in the sarnia store was ignorant and didn't even want to talk to me about it. He said nope warranty does not cover COSMETIC ISSUES OR WEAR and pretty much went to sit in his office.
SCREW U LEONS. U CARRY NOTHING BUT JUNK.

I bought furniture from Leons in Hamilton. I still had about 2 weeks left on my warranty and three springs broke on the couch and I noticed that the stuffing from the love seat arm and fallen away when my 4 yr old laid back and hit his head on the arm leaving him with a bump from the wood. I called the store and it took 2 months to have someone come out and look at it and when they finally did they said that there was nothing they can do. Sp please do not shop at leons furniture go anywhere else but there. When you spend almost 4000. on furniture one would expect to get more than 1 year for it

WE ALSO BOUGHT THE LEATHER LOVE SEAT AND SOFA FROM LEONS NIAGARA ON THE LAKE STORE WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY CALLED LEATHER CARE AND FOUND THE THE LEATHER IS RIPPING OFF FROM THE BASE, THEY ARE SAYING THE SAME THAT IT IS NOT COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM US, I ALSO SENT EMAIL TO MR TERRY LEONS NO ACTION. I AM FILING A REPORT TO CONSUMER PROTECTION MINISTRY OF ONTARIO. THEY ARE ALL CRAPPY FURNITURE FROM OVERSEAS, PLEASE NEVER EVER BUY THESE PRODUCT. THEY HAVE 5-6 BIRTHDAYS EACH YEAR AND CALL PEOPLE WITH SOME DEALS LIKE THIS.

Like you we also purchased a dishwasher, that came with a damaged panel, they sent us a replacement part but it was the wrong one, we are now out of the warranty period but "no worries" we have extended protection or so we thought, No, they don't want to know either, I have just called Leons extended Warrantly again, tried speaking to a femal person, who just constantly talked over me and would not listen. I think it has to be small claims court now! Customers beware, do not be from Leons!

My husband and I purchased a sectional sofa in June 2010. Within 6-8 weeks, the fabric began to stretch and the seams started "moving". The raised pile began to matt and pill. I visited the store today equipped with photos. The pics definitely backed up my complaint. I have been in retail for 18 years and I know how to put off a customer's complaints. That's part of the job. The manager told me that this was normal for there to be some stretching and it was considered wear and tear. I pointed to the pictures in front of her and told her that we were not going to accept this poor quality. She asvised that it was an issue for the warranty department. They are sending their repair person to my home within a week. He will then prepare a "report" for warranty purposes. Little do they know that I am a paralegal and am prepared to go to Small Claims Court. If there is anyone out there with a similar complaint it would be nice to have some backup. When I win this case it will set a precedent and others can use it to help with their own case.

It is in the fine print of most warranties that it does not cover normal wear and tear. Unfortunately, with furniture, you really do get what you pay for. Also, any excessive weight on the furniture also speeds this process.

Good job with the bump on his head, loving the pity plee.

All furniture stores automaticly give you a 1 year manufacter warrenty so it doesn't matter where you shop its not going to be any different. You can however purchase extended protection. If your planning on spending a few thousand dollars then your a [censored] for not wanting to protect your investment for an extra 5 years.

Can only blame yourself

Leon's is the worst when it comes to warranty and customer service. My parents bought a sofa and love seat, the seams started coming apart on the seat cushions and the springs in the sofa squeaked. The manager said that style of furniture isn't meant for everyday use. I couldn't believe it, I guess two elderly people put too much wear and tear on their furniture. We will never shop there again.

We bought a dining room set at Leons in Toronto Jane/401 and the chairs started to break apart due to poor assembly. We called to have someone come out and have a look and it took them almost two months to arrive at our house. I called the manager to ask why this was taking so long and they did not even have a file open to record of our countless calls. They wanted to replace the two faulty chairs but later on the other chairs started to break apart as well.

DONT buy FROM LEONS...
