PLEASE ASSIST US TO GET THIS LETTER TO THE PROPER PERSON IN LEANNAR LEADERSHIP FOR ACTION.
Hello, My name is Frank Lewis, I am in my 60’s and my mother, Evelyn is 88. At the end of last year (2024) we found a Lennar home that we were interested in purchasing. We met with Lynette who was at the time, working at the Sales office. The location was at the end of Centennial Avenue in the Avery Landing / Pointe community in Las Vegas, Nevada. The model we selected was the “Eleanor” on the corner of Mila Landing and Albany Landing Avenues. To show our dedication to the transaction, we presented a cashier’s check for $ 10,000 dollars good faith money to Lennar. We loved Lynette and made a deal even though our realtor was less than helpful. In fact, when going over the deal she said “Lynette gave you this water fall”. It was clear to us that our realtor was just a tool being there to get clients and make friends with the new home counselors in hopes of getting new clients from them. Throughout all aspects of this experience, (not including our interaction with Lynette) there were numerous challenges. During this time, we were scheduled to have a “dusty” walk through. We showed up on time and waited until after the appointment time came and sent a text message (Yes, I still have that text correspondence in my phone to share with you.) the answer we received was that “she” was off that day, but whomever answered the text said they would be right there in 5 minutes. It’s about a 30 second drive from the office to our home site location. We waited 10 minutes and left as mom was feeling ill because there was no place to sit down other than our car and because of the construction we had to park a block away in 100-degree heat. This was just one incident that happened because of Lennar’s poor communication. We have many more to share. From there, when we made mention of it, the tide turned to over communication in the form of your employee Alex Tracy. His daily calls to my work phone became obnoxious and harassing. He was well aware it was my work number as it clearly states that on the voicemail greeting message. It should be noted that Lennar (Alex and Kaylan) had both my personal number as well as our email address, yet they never used either of them to reach out. Lynette had been transferred or I believe she would have allowed Alex to play the games he does. Indeed, our opinion is that Alex Tracy thought of this as a game. It got worse when I finally called him and told him not to call me anymore. His reply was “WHY”. Rather than Ok Mr. Lewis, I won’t. It should be noted that during our visit to the design center, it was made mention by one of your employees that Alex and Kaylan might be “more than just coworkers”. During this time, because of their actions, it caused me ongoing stress having to remove his silly daily voicemails so my work account voicemail would not fill up and could be used for my job. I got less and less sleep which began to affect my health. They also had the contact number of our useless realtor which they didn’t use until after I was admitted into the hospital for bronchitis. (Yes, I have the documentation showing my diagnosis and hospitalization.) This left my 88 year old mother to answer all of their bombardment / barrage of communications while she was at my bedside day and night. It has taken me many months to get back on my feet and I don’t know how much future I have left but I am more determined than ever to set things right no matter how much time or effort it takes up to my last breath. In our opinion, this is elder abuse, which as you know, is against the law. We also believe that our home was sold out from under us after I got sick and hospitalized because of two young nescient people who run roughshod over your Las Vegas office with little to no real supervision, and moreover, no empathy, concern or compassion for the elderly and customers. They thought there would be no repercussions to take advantage of senior citizens. They were wrong! We now ask you nicely and respectfully to return our $ 10,000.00 so this matter does not get escalated any more than it already has. Our family and friends recommended that we contact Tricia Keen with ABC Channel 13 here in Las Vegas as she helps senior citizens that have been taken advantage of, which we have done. She has agreed to a sit down interview with us. She asked us to first try to approach you for your response. I don’t want to do this as every time my mom talks about this trauma she cries however, she knows how important it is to get the truth out to the surrounding community about the way you operate and / or at least what you did to us. Likewise, we have reached out to, (sent letters to) Las Vegas’s largest newspaper, the Review Journal to reporters Katelyn Newberg and Mary Hynes who stand up for the elderly and tell their stories of how companies have taken advantage of people here in Nevada. They have offered their assistance and have been very nice to us. We will await your response for two weeks (my time is expiring) before we move forward sharing our story with the greater Las Vegas Nevada residents via the (TV, Radio, Newspaper, etc.) mass media community.
If you have read this letter and it does not apply to you, we think it does because you have a right to know what kind of company you work for and what their values really are! On Lennar’s website it says your core values are: Quality, Value, Integrity. We think those are in the wrong order but if you do have integrity then we will be waiting for you to do the right thing in the near future.
Our story takes more than 350 Ch here.-In essence, Lennar doesn't care about their senior customers.-It seems as though they don't know Elder abuse is against the law-They soon will, we have met with TV, Radio and Newspaper reporters.-They have all asked we talk with Lennar first but if it docent work, we are ready for EVERYONE TO KNOW THE TRUTH!
