Reporting on an incident that took place at an LCBO location this evening:
I went into your store (#0755) at Yonge and Davisville this evening to purchase items with my ESA dog Bentley. He was startled by another customer with a dog. BOTH dogs starting barking. My dog is a registered ESA and a severely abused rescue from the U.S. He has severe scarring on his back to show his injuries. His vest clearly states that he is training as an ESA.
Your associate 'Sherry" admonished me in front of other associates and customers and stated that if "my dog was going to behave like that we had to leave the store". At no time did she repeat the same thing to the other customer that did not have an ESA vest on.
I tried to explain to her that my dog is an ESA in training and she simply walked away.
I was served by a gentleman who gave me the name of "Matthew" as the store manager.
I have full medical documentation to prove my access to an ESA.
I fully intend to launch a lawsuit due to this ignorant and revolting behaviour. As a Provincially run organization, you ought to know how to treat those with ESA's. Her disgusting behaviour left me feeling ashamed when I should not feel that way. You have an obligation to follow the AODA act and you failed miserably this evening. Any future correspondence with be through my legal representation.
Quite frankly I am sick and tired of having to justify why my dog is with me in the first place.
