My membership is under my husband's name, Omer Mirza, DOB 21st August 1974. This concern is about the LA Fitness Vega Blvd, Mississauga, L5L5Y3, ON, Canada. My husband and I have been members of LA Fitness since August 8th, 2023, and we have continued for around 3 months, then I cancelled my membership, and my husband froze his membership on January 1st, 2024. Later, around Feb 26, 2024, my husband signed the personal trainer contract and unfroze his membership on April 24th, 2024, and included me as a guest. In other words, the salesperson convinced us to sign up for personal training.
Long story short, since June 2025, I have been dealing with an issue where several personal training sessions were cancelled without notice by a personal trainer named Abdul Ali. We booked the sessions and showed up at the gym every time, but the personal trainer was not available. We called him, texted him, but there was no response from him. This happened throughout the summer of 2025. As I don’t see many personal trainers in the app, I asked the manager, and he mentioned that most have been moved to the new position of Senior Personal Trainers, and there are very few options for regular trainers. He suggested me to upgrade my personal training package. Then I modify all my sessions in my PT Bank, plus the future Personal training session for the senior trainer. I was directed to one of the senior trainers, but her session was also cancelled; it was notified
In July 2025, I was diagnosed with a tumour and, later, around October, advised by the doctor to avoid heavy lifting. The LA Fitness location has given me an extension to use those sessions. I can't cancel my membership now since I have sessions in my bank. I know LA Fitness has a no-refund policy, but considering my exceptional case, I want to request a refund. Honestly, I have requested a refund for my personal training sessions a few times, from a customer service representative at LA Fitness named Jagar, since the sessions were cancelled without notice. I have 9 personal training sessions in my account, each worth 67 dollars. LA Fitness owes me 603 dollars that should be refunded based on the unnotified cancellations of at least 9 training sessions and the unprofessional attitude of the staff.
