I’m posting this because I have now made three separate attempts to schedule an oil consumption test for my 2021 Kia Sportage (90,800 miles), and I still have not been able to move forward.
On my first attempt, I was told I could only work with the original advisor who documented the issue, even though that person was unavailable — which delayed the process. On later contact, I was informed that even if oil consumption was confirmed, I would still be required to pay approximately $360 for a “next step” before anything else could be considered, rather than simply beginning with the oil consumption test itself.
At this point, I am only requesting the standard oil consumption test so the issue can be properly documented under my VIN. I am not asking for anything outside normal procedure, and I have consistently tried to follow the correct process. Unfortunately, I’ve encountered barriers instead of support.
Oil consumption is a known concern with Kia engines, and proper documentation is the first step toward resolution. I expected clearer communication, transparency, and cooperation, especially given the seriousness of engine-related issues.
I am posting this in hopes that someone from management will review this situation, assist in scheduling the oil consumption test without unnecessary requirements, and help move this forward.
Claimed loss: continued milage with no written record to be addressed as oil consumption.
Desired outcome: test completed and documented under my VIN so that if a defect is present, Kia can review it for goodwill repair, or corrective action.
