Assurant has repeatedly mishandled my insurance claims through T-Mobile. My most recent claim was denied because an agent told me to “just put any date” — and that date was later used to reject the claim. Even after confirming the correct IMEI, they sent the wrong replacement device. That delay caused the valid claim to fall outside their acceptance window — a situation that would have been avoided had they handled things properly from the start.
This isn’t my first issue with Assurant. Previously, they claimed not to have received a returned phone, despite tracking proving they did. As a result, my T-Mobile account was penalized for months. It took a long time and multiple calls to get it partially resolved, and they never truly acknowledged their error.
Assurant has shown a pattern of poor communication, bad advice, and zero accountability. When they make mistakes, customers are left to deal with the fallout. I’ve paid for insurance, followed the rules, and was misled — yet they continue to deny claims and shift blame.
I’m asking that Assurant take responsibility and approve my claim. Their service has cost me time, money, and trust — and it’s completely unacceptable.
Recommendation: Choose another company they're not helpful at all. There are many other insurance providers for phone coverage.
