HSN.com / Innova, Inc. / Ultrex Gourmet Quality Cookwareinnova out of business according to hsn, all ultrex warranty are not supported

Review updated:

I have purchased a 17 piece Ultrex Gourmet Quality Cookware set from HSN with a 50 year Warranty. After using the pots and pans, the teflon part of it started peeling off. I have attempted to contact HSN about the product and they could not find a record in their system using my home telephone number for 20 years that I have purchased the product. Ultrex has breached the Warranty of their Product. The product did not perform the quality as it was advertised on HSN show. I was hoping to get address or contact information for Innova, Inc.

The HSN web site says that the company is out of business. Since it was the manufacturer who offered the warranty, HSN is not responsible.

I'd love to be apart of a class action suit against either HSN or Innova. As a mom of a family of 6, now I have to shell out more money to replace the crap that HSN sold me! Why is it so difficult for a company to live up to it's promises? And why does HSN have NO RESPONSIBILITY in this matter? When I paid for this item, my CC said it was paid to HSN..... NOT INNOVA!! :(

We are victims also. We called HSN a few years ago. They told my wife they didn't keep records that long (4 years). Then WE FOUND THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK so we called HSN (last year) & they said they could do nothing about it because Innova was out of business. Sorry HSN--- you just lost another customer. Your warrantees & your hype mean nothing anymore.

I spent a ton of money on every ultrex pot, set and kitchen small appliances they made, for myself and my daughter and daughter in law. All of them started peeling and I contacted HSN. They informed me that Innova went out of business and they would not honor the warranty. Very, very disappointed and afraid to use any of these pots for safety issues.

Bought tons of this stuff recommended it to everyone i knew, took a bit but most of it fell apart, then once warranty became null and void and HSN said sorry cant help now i find myself with crap cookware, angry friends with crap cookware and no recourse on the 55 yr warranty i was told i had on this product.

HSN sold this stuff for years segments aired constantly they said never buy another pan set, and that it was commercial grade made to last decades, even had the good housekeeping seal of approval, so i guess i was just dumb enough to believe hsn and bought ultrex.

If someone does form a class action suit against ultrex COUNT ME IN ! I have every receipt from 1998 and up of their junk products and most everything after a few yrs use has flaked or the non stick has stopped working, the knives fell apart right away too handle and blade separated.

I bought a set of ultrex on hsn with the utensils and also thought this would be my last set of pots and pans especially with lifetime warranty. My pots are sticking and the teflon is wearing off. I am very disappointed in this.

If there is something that could be done I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

I bought my pots through HSN and they have totally fallen apart. Theres no abuse here just constant use. The coating inside the pans have worn off. So much for their warranty. Since these were made in China I wonder how effective these pans really were. Count me in for your warranty pursuit.

I agree with every c'omment. Same thing started, sticking then peeling, under normal use, I didn't even use the metal utensils they gave me with my cookware, I worked in houseware before I started cooking, started cooking in none stick cookware, follow all the rules no high heat,no scouring,no cutting, stabing, no metal utensils,or mixers, etc. Never the less they lied, this stuff is junk! I too was looking for where I could get info on my 55yr. Warranty, for the interior surface of my expensive ,excaliber coated,Ultrex cookware. Count me in also!!!

PERHAPS GOOD HOUSEKEEPING SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE SINCE THAEY GAVE THEIR SEAL OF APPROVAL. HSN BEARS SOME OF THE RES[ONSIBLITY SINCE THEY SHOUTED ULTREX PRAISES. PERHAPS I RECIEVED A SUPERIOR SET OF THEIR POTS AS MINE ARE STILL IN GOOD SHAPE. I BOUGHT THEM WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO SESIN THE NON STICK FRY PANS.

I too bought alot of the Ultrex. Also believing this would last for years. Maybe even longer than my lifetime. I also have all of my receipts. It is a sad situation when a company goes under and even sadder when a company (HSN) supported and encouraged the sale of products and now will not honor the warranties from those products.
I would also like know about any class action taken concerning this situation.

Bought INNOVA set with 75 year warranty. Replaced 10" frying pan a little over a year ago because the no-stick properties failed. INNOVA sent new pan and now the same has happened again. Too bad.

Hey, john who bought them when they first came out . How many yrs. ago was that and are you using these pots and pans on regular basis, why are you on a complaint board if you have no complaint . Most of us found this looking for a way to get replacements for non-stick cookware that sticks, and then the coating peels that was guaranteed nnnnot to ware out under exxxxtreme use, let alone 50yrs. of normal ues!

Well, I use some of my pots everyday and now the handles cannot be tightened anymore and one has fallen off! I remember a recall a few years back on these pots, but they never returned calls or responded to emails.
If there is a class action suit, count me in to; what a rip!

I bought an ultrex set about 6 years ago. Lately the teflon coating seems to be coming off. Ehen i went to google to get a current address, i was stunned to find they had gone out of business, and were not honoring their warranty I have definitely been cheated. How do we get some satisfaction?

I bought the whole Ultrex set 6 years ago, also hoping they would last longer than other less expensive non stick cookwear I was replacing. The frying pan coating started to come off after a year. The only pans that are in good shape are ones I have used only a few times. Now that I'm using them, they are wearing out. This is a sham. Shame on HSN for not honoring their products warranties. I hadn't gotten around to returning it to worn out fryers, now I find out that Innov brands are out of business. I feel very cheated as well.

It's bad enough that the product "to last a lifetime" failed and I'm out the money I spent. Worse, is what
have we been ingesting as this coating has been coming off and into our food? Just how carcenogenic is
this coating? A class-action suit is definately warranted and there may indeed be culpability by both
HSN and Good Housekeeping. As a builder I had to stand behind any failed product that I endorsed and
used in a clients house. Certainly some of us out there must know someone, or know someone who knows
someone who knows an Attorney that handles such matters. They may have gone out of business but
HSN and Good Housekeeping are still pitching their wares and endorsements. Let's stick together and
    see this through.

I received my Ultrex II by Innova Inc as a gift from my mother in 2004. I have always handwashed and taken great care of my cookware .My skillet is now unusable, the coating is gone from the bottom and the other pieces are falling apart, cracked handles, loose handles, etc. So the warranty we were guaranteed is not valid, Someone needs to be accountable for the warranty, whether HSN or Innova Inc. I don't recall anywhere listed that either HSN or Innova Inc could decide on their own accord to make obsolete their warranty policies...

I'm just curious t0 know just how long did HSN know about the inferiority of Ultrex, and still pitch the "50-55 year warranty"? If HSN knew wouldn't that be fraud on HSN's part? Itoo found this site by looking for warranty info on Ultrex. My "non-stick" has been sticking for a long time now and I finally made time to look into this. Unfortunately, it seems like I'm in the same boat as a lot of other people. Hopefully, there will be a class action suit and I'd also like to be involved in it.

I purchased an Ultrex slowster from HSN beccause it was such "A great deal" No wonder...they were selling out of this product. I thought it was a steal until I needed a replacement parts. HSN said they went out of business and they couldn't do anything. Real Nice!
Stuck with something I can't even give to a resale store!!!

I loved the cookware until it started sticking! I did not use the metal utensils either! The reason I bought it was that I would not have to buy a nice set of pans ever again...What a ripoff! Hope we can get some satisfaction from HSN or Goodhousekeeping!

It seems to me that some legal group should jump on this. Ultrex sold millions of dollars of cookware over their course of involvement with HSN. HSN is a billion dollar company. I have approximately $600.00 invested in this cookware (it's no cheap in price). Some has a 50 year warranty and some a 75 year warranty! All of it is flaking and coming apart. And I guess this is totally invalid now! HSN has offered me a $75.00 credit for what I have spent, but this is just a drop in the bucket. I told them if they would replace my cookware with a comparable brand I would be satisfied and they refused! So, I'm looking for a class action attorney to take the gauntlet and run with it.

I am a former employee of HSN, I worked in the call center in Roanoke, VA. I purchased probably 1200 worth of Ultrex in the 2 years I worked there and that was with our employee discount, so THATS A LOT!! I bought it for my son's first apartment, my sister, her daughter, my sons' girlfriend, both my sister in laws and myself. So far, no one in the family is having any issues. I called everyone I bought for and inspected mine. I use the same three pots from my set all the time. Two of the small sauce pans and the medium size skillet. These are used practically daily. So far, no problem. I truly love my ultrex, but now all of the ultrex I purchased was bought from 2000-2002. I am not sure if that makes a difference. I never purchased any of the Ultrex II. I am truly sorry for the trouble your having and I may have. I think they should have just improved the problem and not just coward out and shut down and run with the profits they made. Yes I think HSN has some liability. When the Ultrex segment came on, as any segment we were required to offer different pieces to compliment what the customer was purchasing, I only worked there two years b ecause I am just not a pushy person and would not push and push and push like they make their customer service reps do. I have started buying things only made in the USA, its hard to do but I am giving it every effort.

Good luck to you all :)

We, too, purchased the Ultrex with the thought that this would be our last set of pans. We bought our set in 1999 and I still have the original paperwork from HSN. We are experiencing the same problem with the coating coming off. I called the number that I had for Ultrex (1-800-767-5160) which was included in the paperwork saying that this "warranty gives you specific legal rights..." The phone message at the 800 number says that this no longer a working number and that Innova is out business and is no longer supporting the Ultrex products. Tomorrow I will call HSN and see what response I get.

Well it looks as if I am not the only one left holding the bag. I purchased the ULTREX II COOKWARE with a 75 year warranty in 2003 and now the coating is seperating from the surface. This seems a little premature (5 years out of 75). Ithough sure I would at least get 40 years since I probably will not be doing much cooking after then. I guess I will have to redo my will since I planned to leave them to my daughter. I would love to get the prorated portion of my money back, +90%.

I have read several of the complaints regarding Innova and HSN. I fail to understand how a company like HSN can sell a crappy product like the Ultrex Cookware and not have any liability for the warranty when they were the ones recommending this product to consumers.

The handles on my frypans are falling off and are useless. When I called HSN they said they could not help. In my opinion they are the responsible party. If anyone starts a class action against them count me in.

I will never buy from HSN again.

I was looking online to find out how to access the warranty policy on my Ultrex cookware (55 year wanranty) that I purchased 9 yrs. ago from HSN because of problems with the cookware and all I find is complaints because the company went out of business and HSN is not backing up the warranty. Has anyone filed a complaint with the BBB?

I Purchased my set in 2000 and love it. I received a notice of recall on the cookware a couple of years ago from HSN but I decided to keep mine.
I found this site because I bought a Ultrex Slow Cooker on eBay and although it was new it was missing the knob for the lid. I was searching for a replacement knob and learned they are out of business. I have noticed that the teflon coating in the fry pan is not as nonstick as it had been but I had overheated it badly a couple of times (left it on the stove for over two hours one time and the food was charcoal and required scraping to get it off) so I felt it was my fault. All the other pieces seem to be fine. I never put much stock in lifetime or long term warranties because that just means the life of the company not the product.
With the use I have had and the price I paid if it falls apart tomorrow I feel I will have received good value for my money.
I understand your dissatisfaction and wish you all the best.

I also bought the 17 piece set of Ultrex pans and many other add on pieces. I too am very disappointed in their performance. The coating is flaking off and everything sticks. I invested a good chunk of hard earned money for pans that did not live up to their warranty. I also would like to see some type of legal action brought against HSN or Ultrex. Enough of getting ripped off already!!

I was just talking the other day with my husband on how I have had my Ultrex for less than 10 years and that I should get them replaced or get my money back because they look like crap and stick. I was suckered into the fact that I would never have to buy another pan because of the 55 year warranty. I don't understand this. If your staff is saying that I don' have to buy another pan for 55 years, then how are you not responsible now? How do you file a class action lawsuit? It seems like many people were burned by this company and HSN.

I really have nothing more to add to the complaints. I also have a cabinet full of Ultrex and purchased several sets as gifts. Phone calls get you a message that Innova is out of business and letters are returned or ignored. I'm wondering about the GreenPan technology that HSN is promoting now with the same exuberance as Ultrex years back.

We customers deserve some sort of compensation since we were depending on the 55 year warranty when we spent the money.
