I just thought you'd like to know

I went to Home Depot recently and made a purchase. I gave them my veterans card and was told that Home Depot no longer offers a military discounts to veterans who aren't retired. This is very concerning as I am a war veteran who fought for my country's freedom. Why would Home Depot try refuse a discount to a veteran whether they are retired or served le...

Roof installed in 2010. I have an active roof leak and the sheathing that Home Depot insisted that I pay to have them install is warping, bending and curling up causing shingles to rip off the roof. I have made and documented several phone calls, employee numbers, etc at the Home Depot Services division who keeps telling me different stories and not living up to their commitments and warranty.

Home Depot tool rental dept.

I work at a Home Depot tool rental dept . They are using solvents that's not approved to clean drain snakes and other tools that have to be cleaned when returned . When I asked the manager said the other "safe" chemicals were too expensive and don't work as good . So we are spaying this hazardous stuff from a spray bottle and it's bad . You choke if your too close . Then the tools get washed in a pit and they "clean" the pit at night every few weeks, dumping this stuff out back on the ground . Also they store gas in a gas cabinet that is not working because I get a headache from the fumes .

Home Depot garden

Asked for assistance to purchase railroad ties. Employee named Mike came to assist me and instructed me I could not choose two of the ties from the banded stack on the shelf. He stated the had to choose from the junky pieces on the bottom. He then said I would need a flat cart. I said I will go and get the cart. As I walked away to get the cart he also walked away. I returned with the cart, but Mike never did return. After waiting five minutes, I decided to leave and see what Lowe's has to offer. As I was leaving, I spotted Mike on a forklift device in another area of the store. I guess he did not plan to come back and help. I did find better pieces and assistance at Lowe's for the same price. I will be taking my business to Lowe's fron here forth.

Very upset on my Black Friday visit to this home depot store. My husband and i purchased a LG Microwave. The salesperson that helped us (LXC0Z47) told us that they had one in stock, but she told us that "they were very busy and she wouldn't get someone to find the microwave and get it down for us. That if it was ok to come later on or tomorrow to pick it...

Home Depot rebate

September 7, 2019 applied online for rebate on paint purchased on September 6, 2019. When I tried to check on the status of the rebate ($100/ apx.) got a message the site is dangerous to my computer, and when I finally managed to get to the site there is no record of the tracking number.

Needless to say, we are very disappointed with Home Depot. Not the first time we have been lied to by this company.

We will be using the local competetor from now on. Home Depot doesn't seem to be much for upholding it's promises.

Home Depot power tool return

2 Weeks Ago i had purchased a power tool kit for $449 from Home Depot in Tucker GA. i had purchased this for one of my employees but paid with a instore card. i was not informed that this would make it a non refundable item. this week i went to return the unopened item back at the store and even had my receipt of purchase that shows where i bought it and everything but i was told it would be non refundable even tho i have a receipt because i paid with a instore card and the system takes it as no receipt even tho i have one. I am extremely disappointed when i purchase over 50K every year from home depot. I run a construction company and that is the reason i even had instore card since my employees go to home depot when they are on a project and buy extras and when the project is over we return the items that are not used but unfortunatly i never get the receipt so i also get in on instore credit. but after this experiance home depot is going to loose my business to lowes for a error thats not even mine since your store receipt clearly states that a item can be returned with a receipt in a undamemged or unopened box which i did so and was still denied a refund just because i had used a instore credit to pay for it.

Home Depot full kitchen project (creation, delivery and installation)

In the end of July 2019 while searching for a project for the kitchen remodeling in my new house, I visited Home Depot in the Northeast Philadelphia. I was introduced to their designer by the name Nick, and he created a Project which would have met my expectations. I was very encouraged, and a week later Tony, the installer, came to my house and obtained necessary measurements. The measurements turned out to be incorrect, and he returned, and performed another measurement, and it was incorrect again. That is why I refused to use Home Depo installation team and hired independent installers. Next day, on August 5, 2019 I signed a Contract and Home Depot Project Loan. I was looking for beginning and completion of my Project in excitement. Soon my encouragement and excitement began to wean off and turned into a psychological and financial nightmare.

Three weeks later the entire kitchen was delivered, but it was finished differently from the initially chosen one. Next day Home Depot came and picked up the wrong kitchen. I went to Home Depot again, and Nick, the designer explained that such design cannot be applied to the kitchen we chose together with him, and we had to change design so that the material would be consistent with initially chosen.

Three and a half week later the correct kitchen was delivered, but two corner cabinets were damaged. Besides, the installers whom I hired from outside, detected, that wall corner cabinet was missing. It was explained to me by Carol, the Manager, over the phone, that such cabinet was never ordered for any reason. She took the charge and reordered damaged cabinets and ordered the one which was not ordered to begin with. I was assured that the new shipment would take place in three weeks. Then there were delay, after delay, after delay. Finally the delivery occurred on 9th or 10th of October.

A couple of days later, the installers realized that two reordered cabinets were 3 inch less in depth and width, and the wall cabinet above the sink - 6 inch narrower, which was a mistake of a designer as per explanation by Home Depot representative.

During all this process, I have visited Home Depot and had telephone conversation with them numerous times. I sorted those people who I was dealing with into two groups: those who were incompetent, and had no clue of what was going on, and those who knew whose fault it was, but preferred to hide the truth. Lie, after lie, after lie, delay, after delay, after delay, while I had no choice but wash dishes in the bathroom, and experience other inconveniences not only for me but my whole family (imagine leaving without a kitchen for more than 2 months in 21st century).

Considering all this hardly bearable experience, I decided not to reorder wrong size components, and my installers tried to make the best of it. Nevertheless, looking at those wrong-size cabinets cause any feelings but joy.

Finally, Michelle, another manager, offered a compensation for all my misery in the amount of $500. It is a mockery and humiliation to me and my family. I refused.

The purpose of this complaint is to ensure that those incompetent people who were in charge at all the stages of completion of the Project, will never be allowed to screw up other customers' projects.

Home Depot carpet

My new carpet was installed on SEPT. 20th, 2019. On the very first day, I noticed something odd about this carpet. Over the next few days my carpet went from a beautiful shade of gray to something that looks like it has been through a tie-dye process with deep footprints everywhere.

On Sept. 25, 2019, I spoke to Mr. Cody Jennings who is Specialty Assistant Store Manager at store #1507 in Littleton CO. After seeing pictures of the carpet on my phone, he suggested that I should email them to him so he could forward them to the manufacturer as soon as possible which I did the next day.

On October 16, after receiving my following up email Mr. Jennings responded saying that a manager from the vendor would contact me within 48 hours to set up appointment for a home inspection. As it turned out nobody did.

On November 5, 2019, Mr. Frank Yates - Customer Specialist - forward an email he received from the vendor - Mr. Robert Pacheco - to me. These were his exact words: "The photo show normal wear. The carpet will show footprints and this is considered a normal characteristic of carpet and not a manufacturing defect"

May I remind you that this carpet is less than two months old. It has this characteristic on the day it was installed. This carpet has fifteen years wear warranty. If this is a normal characteristic of a carpet then why people laugh every time I show them the images of my carpet.

While I could have purchased a new carpet elsewhere, I chose Home Depot because it is a reputable corporation that I can trust. And because I assume that Home Depot offers quality products and will stand behind the products that it sells.

I'm not trying to take an advantage of Home Depot. I'm open for all suggestions. Both refund or exchange will work for me. Although the preparation of new carpet installation is not something I would want to go through again so soon but I'll if I have to. If Home Depot give me credit for what I had already paid and I'll only have to pay for the difference between the price of the old and the new one then exchange would work for me.

I'll be glad to email the pictures to anyone who wants to look at them. Or set up an appointment for a home inspection if necessary. Please let me know how I can forward the pictures to Mr. Craig Menear if this issue is beyond your control. I do have his address and phone number but not where or how I can send him pictures directly from my phone.

I truly appreciate whatever you can do to correct this problem. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Suong Doshier

Home Depot online advertising

Online shoppers are misled to apply for a credit card and save up to $100 on first purchase. I will upload a picture of the cart. It shows an extra $100 off on top of the current sale and rebates. I let Home Depot run a credit check, and it passed. When I used the code, the total would go up instead of down because it would remove the rebate. I called and chatted online. Finally spoke with Cindy who offered to close the account then because the $100 doesn't work with the rebates. I asked to speak to someone else and that manager said it's on the credit website. This is completely misleading and a waste of my time.

Home Depot payment not credit as bill stated

I recieved a bill that had some promotional offers on it and some interest bearing amounts also. The bill stated that I had to pay $1022 to avoid paying any interest. The billing fine print also stated that if a promotion offer didn't expire before the due date then payment would be put towards interest bearing amounts first. I paid $1200 to insure that that interest bearing was paid and some extra was put on the other balances. Turns out that they applied my payment to the promotional offer, leaving me with interest bearing amounts still. When I called to ask, they stated that it doesn't matter what the bill or fine print says, there billing hierachy applies payment to promotional if they expire within 2 months of the current bill. So even though the online payment and bill state to pay a certain amount to avoid interest, they apply it differently and you still get charged interest. Total misinformation and lying on the bill.
Avoid completely. I am paying off my bill and canceling my card.

Home Depot stove

I have had the WORST experience ever ordering a stove from Home Depot. I am a property owner / manager in Toronto and often order appliances for apartments. I thought for a change that I would try ordering a 24" white electric range for one of my units, since the product had decent reviews and was well priced.
I have been on the phone with HD as well as the delivery company they use ((Same Day Delivery) about 8 times just for this one item.
There seemed to be differing opinions depending on whom I spoke with as to whether the item could be delivered into the apartment and the old stove taken away. I was assured that both could be done. Then this changed and over the course of many holds, transfers and literally hours of my time, being wasted and my frustration growing, I was told that neither were possible. Finally, I got ahold of someone who was able to guarantee the stove could and would be delivered to the apartment (as opposed to being dropped off in front of the building), but they would not be able to take out the old appliance - fine.
The delivery happened this morning and the delivery company called 20 mins ahead of schedule to let me know they were on their way - i appreciated that.
However, when they delivered it, they just dropped off the stove in the cardboard box and left - they did not unpack it or inspect it. Lo and behold once our superintendent unboxed it he noticed right away that there was an obvious chunk of the enamel that was gouged out on the top right hand corner and also the front electric coils / burners would not fit in properly.
I have since called and asked HD to p/u this stove and I have been assured I will be fully reimbursed. They still have to have someone call me to "schedule" the p/u and that probably won't be for another week to 2 wks. In the meanwhile, I will be ordering a new stove from a more reliable company with whom I have never had any issues. That'll teach me for trying to save a few bucks!
I have never had such a horrible, maddening and time-wasting experience like this one. From start to finish (and sadly it's not finished yet) it's been a complete F&#K UP on Home Depots end. Total incompetent system going on with their appliance orders and deliveries. No two CSRs have the same information from past calls and everything has to be repeated AGAIN. Not only that but the original order was done through text messaging - I kept asking the "live agent" if it wouldn't be easier to talk in person - but nope. That took over an hour just to order the goddamn thing. Okay, I think this has driven me to drink. I'll be glad when it's over.
