Guthy-Renker Scam and disappointed!

The Guthy Renker vitamins I received through a sheer cover order. Because it was my first order using a card over the phone I didn't realize that they charge you five dollars to try them, but they continue to send them only this time charging $33. Then another charge showed up on my account a month after I received the vitamins. Today I called and canceled. I told the lady who spoke to me that I was sending the unopened box back and I didn't want to be sent any more. I had better get my money back. Its enough of a problem having to pay money and time to send it back. Also just to make sure (because of all the similar complaints) i am going to decline any further charges from that company to my account.

One more thing I would like to add is that I was greatly disappointed with the product. I can go to a local store and purchase the same vitamins and minerals for less and I have!

I did not order the vitamins, they just showed up in the mail with no return address.

Holy crud I got told I knew about it already in my first email from them. Laugh my butt off! I only have one email from them concerning vitamins. It is basically a reciept for a free who back up FREE 30 day supply. I decided no and canceled my order in March 2011. O they are very nice and very well trained. Not one word was spoken when I canceled that this was a 3 part payment. I would have had a fit! Instead they choose to quietly just not mention it at all. Like it will never come up again and I won't notice the money next month. I called today April 2011 and was very politely told it was a 3 part payment and yes it was canceled but she could not stop it nor could she reimburse me unless I sent it back and also that they would take out the last payment next month no matter what I said. I read all the bad reviews on this but when I cancelled after my 30 day trial I thought it was a breeze and thought they must have fixed their issues. Please if you are reading this don't take they are FRAUDS! This is a scam and the better business bureau needs to get off their lazy bums and earn their paycheck by getting rid of these jerks. They don't care and for some reason they think they can take your money noatter what you say and since they arent shut down then apparently they can.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I am currently battling Gunthy-Renker Nutrition for relentless shipments of their Vita Power Pro Vitamins. It all started in July 2007 when I ordered a $2.99 30-day trial of their vitamins with an order of Proactiv. BIG MISTAKE! I had used Proactiv in the past, and I had always had a good experience with Gunthy-Renker, so I trusted that I could try (and cancel) their vitamins if I did not like them. WRONG!

At the end of the 30 day trial, I began to receive unwanted shipments every other month of a 60-day supply of vitamins I didn't even order. For this they still charge my credit card every month for $33.94...and it is now March 2008.

First, I tried to cancel via email through Gunthy-Renker Proactiv...the same company/division from whom I had ordered them. But wait, ITS NOT THAT SIMPLE. You cannot do this. To cancel, allegedly all you need to do is contact Gunthy-Renker Nutrition at [protected]. THIS IS NOT TRUE!

I have called twice, emailed four times (2 emails have been returned for failed delivery--hmmm?), been called a liar, told that they have never received any of my returned shipments, told they have no record of my contact with them, then told that-wait-I called them to cancel on 2/28/08 (I didn't), then told that perhaps I emailed them on that date (I didn't), told that they (?) took over this company (?) 3 weeks ago and that unfortunately the last company (?) did not handle returns very well...

All this to be told that I WILL NOT RECEIVE the $169.70 owed me for my returned shipments because I failed to get a "proof of mailing certificate" from the post office each time I refused them...because they have no record of my correspondence with them...because I do not know the name of the person with whom I spoke in January.

In the end, Janie #134 (a supervisor), would not give me more than the first name of her supervisor (Jessica) who she expects me to trust will call me. I wonder...will she also call me a liar and refuse to credit me for products I have mailed back unopened?

MY SUGGESTION: DO NOT BUY ADD-ONS from GUNTHY-RENKER . . . and NEVER BUY GUNTHY-RENKER NUTRITION PRODUCTS! They will steal your hard-earned $$$$$

The same thing happened to me. I got suckered by the $5 box introductory offer, then 3 weeks later they charged me $60 for a 2 month supply, when they stated that they would charge my card every 2 months. They charged my card the day before Christmas and when i called them they said that it was already shipped and I would have to ship them back when I received them. I send them back like a month ago and I still haven't received a refund. On top of it all they charged my card an additional $60, i called them and they said that they werent sending another box and they havent but they still owe me $120. I really don't think I will get a refund and I will have to dispute this with my bank. What a scam!

Guthy-Renker i cancelled my order and they continue to take money out of my account and send no product

they continue to overdraw my account by taking money for an account that has been cancelled. no response when tring to contact by phone.

I have had money taken from my account not only for products I have not received but also for things I have not even signed up for?! Very angry.

How much does it cost for a box of 60 prepacked vitamins of "Endless Youth" BY Guthy Renker Nutrition? Someone just told me about them but they are rich and I am not. Please advise

Guthy-Renker vita clear dietary supplement

I ordered Proactive Solution online after seeing their informercial. I requested they bill my credit card after each shipment. However, they also send a product called Vita Clear Dietary Supplement which I did not order. Then they charged my credit card for it as well - $33.94. After checking into this, I found I wasn't the only person they have scammed in this way. I have sent e-mails to both Proactiv.com and Guthy Renker customer service and have called Proactive customer service to register a complaint and have my services discontinued. I hope they are no longer able to scam other innocent people in the same way they scammed me. They should be made to refund anyone's money they did this too and issue a letter of apology for their deceptive practices.

I got the free vitamins and then cancelled. I was sent another box and charged 2 payments of $32 after I had cancelled. I called and they refunded my money less shipping. They said there were two pages on the agreement and it says shipping never refunded. Will never order either item again!

I started using Proactiv in June 2005 to treat my mild acne. Over the next several months of using Proactiv, I suffered severe outbreaks of skin lesions that I had never experienced before using the product. When inquiring about these severe outbreaks, Guthy-Renker's unlicensed medical support representatives "consistently" advised me to continue using Proactiv, "You're just experiencing the 'normal' breakout period. Results vary by person, some see results as little as two weeks, others don't see results until a few months later. So continue to use the product and your skin will get better." In fact, even a Proactiv representative at the Proactiv Kiosk Queen Center Mall in New York, looked at my face and said exactly the same as the phone representatives. When they learned that the product caused further injuries after the third month or the end of the program, a Guthy-Renker representative said, "You have sensitive skin. You are probably allergic to the benzoyl peroxide ingredient. We do have another kit called the Gentle Formula for sensitive skin. I will rush you this product and it will work for you."

With no improvements to my condition, in late November 2005, I stopped using Proactiv Solution. Despite the advice given to me by Proactiv representatives to continue treatment with Proactiv, I sought the professional care of a dermatologist to treat the severe outbreak of skin lesions. After consulting with the dermatologist, I was prescribed a costly and powerful medication, which helped improve my condition. He also had to inject each of the pimples caused by Proactiv, which was quite painful. However, I have been left with permanent pit-scarring and skin discoloration on my face as a result of the irritation caused by my prior use of Proactiv Solution. I will need to have an expensive laser surgery procedure to reduce this skin discoloration with no guarantee that the damage can be reversed.

After watching numerous infomercials where celebrities would endorse a product, I never once questioned if these products were actually used by them. Yet, after I watched the infomercials for Proactiv Solution, it seemed like the celebrities not only used the product, they praised its ability to clear the skin of blemishes. When I was experiencing mild acne, I had high hopes for Proactiv, and the claims that the celebrities, and the company made. As you have read, the results were not favorable; not only was Proactiv ineffective, but it also caused permanent scarring, short term anguish and depression. This could have been avoided by knowledgeable representatives advising me to stop using the product and consult with a professional dermatologist. The issue is NOT whether Proactiv works or not, but what matters is the lack of accountability taken by the manufacturer and its affiliates; and also the advice given to me by the Proactiv reps to continue using the product despite the outbreaks that I reported. I urge anyone considering the use of this product to carefully re-evaluate their decision, and perhaps prevent a lifetime of pain and embarrassment as the result of using "The Answer for Acne."

I am hoping to make it to the news media on a national level. If anyone can help in anyway, please let me know.

I ordered this Perricone cream one time and paid $76. for it Paypal. Now I got a notice from Paypal that they want to authorize another payment of $104 when I did not order one more thing. Only used the first cream once and saw no difference so no way would I order more already and especially not for nearly $30 more!

I feel bad for this lady but it is at ones own risk to try any product. All products are not for everyone. It is the risk you take. I use proactive as well as my sister and it works great for us both. It is not a bad product, it just did not work for her. There is no guarantee that the product will work for all people. As for the customer service, it is not all their fault either. She should have taken responsibility to stop the use of the product if she knew it was damaging her skin. It is not a national story problem She should take the blame also. Its your face, you knew you were continuing to damage it.

Guthy-Renker Unauthorized charges!

Today is Sunday the 12th of November 2006. I officially have begun my journey into the world of grc and their questionable business practices. My email is nano1976 at yahoo, i will welcome any of the past posters, readers and future readers to pass on to me their personal experiences and steps taken to recoup any or all monies lost to this company. I just returned from overseas, yes military, and am catching up on my finances. My fiancé ordered proactive before i left in may and since then the credit card has been getting charged for vitamins, GRC VITAPOWER PRO PLUS, and have not received any of this product. I have been getting charged $33.94 since May 06, coincidentally the same time she received her first Proactiv shipment. Today I noticed another charge on my card for $69 to a VITAPOWER, notice the different amount and title of the product on my bank statement. On my bank statement there are phone numbers. GRC VITAPOWER PRO PLUS [protected], VITAPOWER [protected], called PROACTIV and they gave me [protected], they are all the same number. Today is Sunday like I said, called them up and got the press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish, then a recording comes on and says call back between 8am and 10pm est, funny they never said mon-fri or anything. Will try again tomorrow Monday and give an update. If anyone wants to email me your experience with this and the steps you have taken, please do so at nano1976 at yahoo (misp purposely). If you are truly being scammed and can't afford a any more charges on your credit card or debt card, put a side some cash...enough for about 2 weeks to get you through (gas money, lunch money, bus fare, co-pay) think about what you need to do in the next two weeks including bills you pay with this card, set the cash aside and tighten your belt and call your bank and tell them that your card (credit or debt) has been compromised and the bank will put a stop to these charges and send you a new card and new number...it takes about 10 days to get a new one. This was a solution that worked for me at one time.

My son is currently in the Middle East in Bahrain and his banking statements come to me (his mother). I noticed some ODD charges on his statement. When he contacted me and I told him of these purchases, he said he didn't authorize them and certainly was not receiving them. Both of these were from Guthy Renker (GRC Vita Power and GRC Sheer Cover). I am going to attempt to cancel both of these on his behalf on Monday. I hope I can. Otherwise, ANOTHER poor fighting soldier is being ripped off!

They even have pictures of the crooks and scam artist themselves. I have an elderly parent in an assisted living facility that has been charged over and over, all the while she has been trying to contact Grc* with no luck. I just called and cancelled her orders, but the people on the phone did not want to talk to me at all.

I had the same problem with this company. I just caught the error on my e-statement. I called and stayed on hold for about 10-15 minutes waiting for a response. I made them aware of the problem. For 3 months I have been billed for the vitamins and have not recieved the product. I also did not authorize for the vitamins to be billed to me or to shipped to me on a monthly basis.
They quickly handled the matter, but indicated that it may take up to 10 days for the credit back to my account to be recieved. We'll see. This make me not want to buy anything from QVC or HSN, although I love their deals.

I have the same experience with Vita Power Pro. After disputing twice their unauthorized charges, they charged me again for last month without authority.

At first, I was able to speak with somebody to cancel my account. I have returned all the products as instructed. But they continue to charge me each month. Now, I cannot get hold on anybody to answer my calls.

This has to stop. I think we should get some legal help about this. This could potentially be a class action against Gunthy-Renker and Proactive.

Consumers like us must be vigilant and protect each other against unscrupulous businesses who want to make an easy money out of our hard-earned money.

Please let me know how you feel about the class action.

I too am having problems getting my money back for vitamins I did not authorized. I just tried to contact the [protected] and recieved a recording they are upgrading their system...what to take more money from people.l. The recording gives an email address to contact regarding customer service ... GRNVitamins@cpu2.com, leave your name, address, and phone number. Now I am not confident that they will call back, but I am going to give it a try. I will keep you posted on the results.

The Gunthy Renker Corporation are a bunch of crooks! I can't believe no one has done anything to stop them yet. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against them. I have been getting unauthorized charges from them for almost 6 months. I thought my wife was still buying crap from them, but today I asked her about it and she said she canceled her order and returned items almost as soon as she had received them. I didn't think about asking her until now, and now I decided to do some research. I did a google search for SHEER COVER GRC and about half of the results were about complaints against this company's unethical and seemingly illegal business practices. I decided to call GRC to find out why I am still to this day being charged 37.50 for something I had not purchased and their lame excuse was that my account had not been canceled... B.S.! I then asked them if my wife had returned any product the she ordered or even not ordered, why haven't I received a refund from this company. She then told me that: 'according to her records there was a refund to my account on the 27th' NOW mind you, I am looking at my bank account online as I am speaking to this woman and I know for a fact I have not received a dime from these BLEEPS. So now I... I have to fax THEM my bank statements to prove otherwise... which I will do, but shouldn't have to. We'll see how this goes... guess from past customer complaints, not well. Will let you guys know. OH and whoever this DREANA F BROWN who posted:

"I received my reimbursement for the wrongful charge and than the product arrived in my mailbox the next day! I sent it back immediately w/o opening it up! SO, I'm happy to get my money back and will continue with ProActiv and Sheer Cover for I LOVE the products!"
