I am receiving fraudulent charges on my debit card. The charges are from multiple sources. I want it stopped now! Someone is using my card to play online games. I blame microsoft for allowing it. Do something!

someone used my atm card bank card to buy 2 xboxes. i don't play games so i don't buy them.

On 11th August 2009 Microsoft released a 'scam update' via their Live service to all consoles. Users who bought the X-Box Arcade console (who do not have enough room for the update on their memory cards) have basically kicked off their console and cannot play any games whatsoever, even offline, unless they update. However, updating requires at least the purchase of a new memory card or hard drive. It's basically just another way for Microsoft to scam innocent people out of money and those that don't pay are forced off their gaming console which they've already paid good money for.

This site is just a complaints site. It's not a customer service Web site. You need to contact the customer service of the site you supposedly bought Office from. I say supposedly because perhaps you were scammed.

If you get you dough back, you can always use a free alternative like OpenOffice. Find that at openoffice.org. It's free and does the same stuff as Office.

My ex-husband set up an XBox live account for our son. He set it to auto-renew annually. In the meantime, my son bought a couple of $5 items for his XBox, and Microsoft stored the card info automatically. In the meantime, my ex-husband's credit card expired before the XBox Live account expired last month, and he did not update it. My son went into his XBox Live account last night and deleted his dad's expired card number. I heard him say, "Oh no!" and he ran to me in a panic saying that as soon as he deleted his dad's card, mine was automatically charged $60 for a year's subscription. When I was finally able to reach Microsoft today to explain that the charge was unauthorized and ask for a refund, the supervisor practically laughed at me. He said that the fine print I agreed to when making ANY XBox purchase was that my card would be stored and charged for any purchases on the account. I'm working with my bank to try to reverse the charges, but I'm not optimistic. This is a complete scam that also victimizes kids. Even though it's not his fault, my son is very distressed about what happened. This should be illegal. It's definitely fraud.

I just had the same exact thing happen to me. I have had to call them every 3 months for the past year because they continued to bill me AFTER I had cancelled my account. I even got a new card. The refused to reimburse me and were extremely unhelpful. Just tried to have my account deleted AGAIN even though they had said it was deleted the first time. A bill of $25 every three months adds up. I haven't even owned an XBox in over a year and a half.

Saw Agrawang is a very big cheater who needs to be banned.he pushes pause and just sits there when he starts losing.ive been on pause now for 2 hours.there should be something to prevent this but he also shouldn't be allowed to play.ive filed complaints but no telling how long it'll be before he does this to others.annoyed!

OK, Contact the Microsoft Office for help on the billing of the mysterious product you didn't order and ask for a refund. And the points, did your son recently used your credit card for the Xbox at one point? If so he might have made a automatic account that takes money too pay for the account, you can also ask them too cancel that.

I would advise you contact Paypal in order to have the charge to your account reversed, if at all possible. If you're concerned about your Paypal account being breached, at the very least change its password. Contact them about the potential fraud. Also, contact Microsoft about the domain. The scammers are using the good name of Microsoft (ie its trademark) to promote their scam and cause people to trust them. They ARE NOT Microsoft.

If you used Paypal to pay for their software, they did not receive your credit card information.

I received the same phone call this morning, I do not understand how they can get the serial number of my windows software. Is this company actually affiliated with paypal? Co>d my credit card info gotten into the hands of someone who should not have it? This person said that they work directly for microsoft in their tech department. The microsofttechcare.com website he got me to log into certainly was not a microsoft website. He got angry and hung up on me when I refused to log into their remote server and let him have control of my computer. I told him I would follow instructions and do what he said to clean my own computer and he just laughed before he hung up. I am quite nervous about what kind of personal info may have gotten out.. I see in the recommendation about calling the bank, does this mean I should stop using paypal>

So sorry to hear that you experienced this. Unfortunately, dear, you were scammed. It is a scam. If you have top-notch anti-virus software, you're usually well-protected.

I would suggest you contact Microsoft. The scammers are using their trademark illicitly. Microsoft defends its trademark with a battery of trademark lawyers. Your friend should report the fraudulent transaction to Paypal and/or the card issuer (likely a bank).

They don't read this. Call your bank. It's the fastest way to get the charges resolved. Call 1-800-4-MyXbox to have your card removed asap.

You'd get a better response if you go to the xbox live website, or better yet, call them. They can't be monitoring all these complaints website .. use your head. Expecting a response from a third-party website just shows the American mentality of seeking assistance.

These are common scams. Do some research and educate yourself before you have your identity stolen! A real bank would never ever ask for any confidential information in an email expect when it is on their secured website inside your account. That goes texts as well, a real bank or credit card provider would never ever ask for confidential information in a text.
