I tried using the voice-activated mode to record a meeting, but unfortunately, the recording stopped while someone was still talking. It did start up again right away, but I missed out on some important parts of the conversation. I'm not sure why this happened since the recorder was only about 10 feet away from the person speaking and on a bench that was only 18 inches off the ground.
