We were expecting the parcel (weighs 8kg) because FedEx web sites showed the parcel is on their delivery vehicle on November 19, 2017. But their web sites showed the "Customer not available" exception at noon. I called their Customer Services at 12:30pm and asked them to deliver the parcel on the same day. A lady of FedEx called me at 1:30pm, she asked me what time is good for us. I answered that anytime is okay with us since my wife and son are home. At 5:28pm, the lady called me and said that they cannot deliver the parcel on the day and asked me to pick it up.
I do not think the parcel was really on their delivery vehicle. FedEx is cheater. We paid it for the door-to-door services but they force us to pick up the 8kg parcel. This bad experience tells us DO NOT use FedEx any more.

FedEx poor customer service

The best measure of a company is what happens when things go wrong. I have used FedEx for over 10 years - on Ebay which does not support FedEx in their shipping tools. Though I eventually was paid (less than I asked for), the ordeal was at times laughable. This is the first time an item has been damaged in shipment. Fine. Their handling of it was horrible. I sent a letter detailing the experience with no response from them. Here are the things I had to go through.

1. When I first called I was told that a damage call tag could be issued by either myself or the recipient and it could be returned to either one of us.
2. I had to call three times to get the correct claim form because there were old addresses showing up on the copy sent to me.
3. The recipient scheduled a damage call tag for Friday Nov 14. The person who took the information scheduled it as a regular call tag, so he had to cancel the pickup and reschedule the damage call tag.
4. Your inspectors must need glasses because they did not find the damage which was completely obvious.
5. A replaceable part was damaged on the contents, a musical instrument. I ordered the part and sent it to the recipient. Given the information in item 1, he scheduled for the damage call tag to be returned to him.
6. The stick showed up on my doorstep two hours before I was to leave for a week long trip. I called and was repeatedly told that damage call tags are always returned to the sender. Both the person I first spoke with and the person handling the claim seemed to think by repeating this would somehow help me. When I told them I don’t need to hear it again, they got testy with me. It’s not my fault I was given wrong information
7. It was during this phone call I found out the claim was denied due to item 4. I challenged it and was told I could have an on-site inspection (which I was told you did not do in the first place, huh?). Of course I had to wait over one week since I was leaving town.
8. The item is a musical instrument. The recipient had scheduled non-refundable lessons and missed four of them due to this ridiculous run around. He lost $220, and I have refunded him $200. I faxed an additional form with an increased claim amount of $500 which was ignored.
9. The claims person assigned to this did not return my phone calls.

Since it is easier to use UPS or USPS on Ebay I guess I will do so. FedEx doesn't seem to care.

FedEx - tuition reimbursement not paid out

I am a former employee who worked at Fedex Ground in Keasbey, NJ from 10/2007 to 09/2008. When I started working at this company, I learned about a tuition reimbursement program that very much attracted me to work there, even though this job was quite a distance away from my home in Newark, NJ at that time. I left the company in late September 2008 due to...

FedEx failed next day delivery

I had 4 boxes delivered next day from Tampa, Florida to Manhattan. All the packages are reported by FedEx tracking as having arrived in Newark, and 2 of the boxes were delivered on time. Unfortunately, FedEx can't be bothered to deliver the other 2 boxes for another 2 days. Having paid for next day delivery, you would expect FedEx to at least put some effort in. The boxes are sitting less than an hours' drive from my home, and it's going to take them a further 2 days to deliver something that should have been next day. FedEx are truly useless.

Ok - it then gets better. Now whenever I contact a representative they refuse to answer any of my questions and just hang up on me. This company is truly useless.

I was stuck waiting home all day for a package that I paid extra for 2 day delivery. Finally, since I had email tracking I checked and the driver claimed he could not get here because of snow! It snowed yesterday! The roads are clear, the kids went to school, UPS is out delivering but Fedex couldn't drive. My mailperson made it...but these lazy amateurs can't drive. He was back at the station before 3 p.m. lazy jerk.

We have a business and util8ized Fedex exclusively, UPS, you are about to get a LOT more business.

I had a package due Friday January 24th. When I tracked the package that day to ensure it was on the truck for delivery, it had apparently been "left at the door". This was a business delivery and we are open 8 to 5. Someone is always here. When I called Fed Ex immediately I was told the driver would be notified and that he should still be in the area. He can retrieve the package and deliver it to the right address. Didnt hear back. Called the next day and was told that due to it being Saturday only customer service is open. I needed to call back Monday because they had no way of talking to the driver. I called back Monday and was told my package accidentally was sent home delivery and they workl tuesday through saturday. So now I have to call back Tuesday. Now I am told about their two day policy. So it is now Tuesday and when I called I am told that the driver has until end of the business day and then I have to contact the seller and have them file a claim and have the package re-sent. Which doesnt do me any good because the item ordered is a retirment gift for an employee who had been with us 30 years and the party is this Friday. I seriously doubt they can get the package here correctlty. So Fed Ex is completely worhtless and they have lost our business. NO ONE at that company have seemed to care about customer service...they have been more concerned with not bothering the driver...which is the idiot who can not read an address correctly. It's sad. If this company ever goes under I do not feel sorry for anyone who loses their job.

FedEx non delivery to addressee

FedEx were supposed to deliver a package to a house guest of mine. Instead of bringing the package to the house, they telephoned to say they were leaving it at the local post office, which is 20 minutes away by car, and usually involves waiting in a queue for 40 minutes. When my house guest finally got to the post office window, she was given the package with no further ado. Several days later, when she had left the country, I received a call from FedEx saying there had been customs duty pay (on 3 Obama Tshirts and some Obama stickers), and they expected me to pay. I explained that the recipient of the package was no longer in Italy and that I certainly wasn't going to pay, not least because if they had delivered to the door, as they were paid to do, this problem wouldn't have arisen. Four weeks later I receive a letter with a bill from FedEx, addressed to me. I have returned it unopened to their Milan office. I would like to lodge a formal complaint about their disservice and prevarication.

FedEx customer disrespect

I was processing my international document shipment on Fedex.com and I noticed that Fedex now does not allow to request a signature from the recipient. It defaults to "no signature required". I selected "Documents No Commercial Value" and I do need a signature, cause these are legal papers that need to be signed for. No such option at Fedex.com. Indeed Fedex.com never has been a user-friendly website. I called Fedex international support, they told me that I'm wrong, that there is an option for a signature... well, there is none. The female rep. kept arguing and wasn't very friendly, kept interrupting me not letting me explain the problem, then the Fedex representative put me on hold and I waited exactly 30 minutes before I hung up. Then I called again, the other lady was polite and transferred me to "Cindy" who had the same voice as the one
that out me on hold forever, yet she said she's not the same person. She kept repeating that it's not true and that there is an option for a signature and that I must enter a value, but I kept explaining to her that documents do not have a monetary value yet I need a signature of the recipient, and I entered a value and more problems popped-up and she put me on hold and soon after she hung up... I then went to UPS.com and shipped my shipment with no problems with documents and a required signature and even a delivery confirmation option was here. I don't mean to use UPS all the time, I need o use Fedex too, but after several such experiences I'm thinking of removing Fedex from my company's shipping options. Now especially that Fedex has been spamming us with "DHL's gone, use Fedex" messages, while we never used DHL let alone within the USA.

Unfortunately, you reached a third party call-center agent who really didn't not have the interest of FedEx or you the customer at heart. Appears that they simply did not want to help. As a consumer, you did right to shop around.

FedEx overcharge for slow computers and faulty software

I went to a Fedex Kino's location to scan 2 documents. Had the worst experience of my life and came back seething. Here is the list of things that went wrong:

1. First of all, no signs anywhere stating where the scanner was. I had to hunt around the whole store till I found one.
2. When I looked at the prices, it was 40 cents per minute for the workstation with the scanner.
3. That workstation had atleast 4 different kinds of software for scanning documents, with NO instructions on which one to use.
4. 3 out of the 4 did not work, wasting my time and racking up the mins on the workstation.
5. When I asked a Fedex employess who came and sat at the workstation next to me, she told me to use the 4th one and looked at me as if "You should know that". which I obviously couldn't have known. Any software installed should be working, otherwise not be installed.
6. Thsi same employee acted annoyed, even though all she was doing was durfing the net!
7. Next I needed to get some passport photos taken. When I stood in line for 15 mins to get the attention of the customer service people, no one came to the desk and even though I could see some of them in the back, they did not even bother to come and ask me if they could help me with something.

I would liek to say they have lost a customer forever, but given that they are the only ones around that do all office document services around here. I don't know what my options are!

FedEx - Bad driver

I was driving to work today(11/18/2008 6:15am); traveling North on I-65 through Brentwood, TN. I was in the second lane from right of 4 lanes with cruise set at 68mph in a 70mph zone. A Fed Ex truck rapidly pulls in behind me and drives no more than 5 of 6 feet from my bumper for a mile or two. He finally changes lanes and passes me and as he does he flip...

FedEx lousy customer service

I HOPE FEDEX READS THIS!

I am incensed! I had a package 1st attempeted delivery on Nov. 5. On that evening, when I received the door tag after coming home from work, I immediately called Fedex to ask that the package be re-delivered on Saturday, Nov. 8. Well I was told by the rep on Nov. 5 that I would probably still have a re-delivery attempt on on the next day, Nov. 6, but that they will mark the package for delivery on Saturday Nov. 8. Well as the rep told me, Fedex did attept re-delivery on Nov. 6; they also attempted re-delivery on Nov. 7, despite my call to them. I called back again on Nov. 7 and explained that I called on the 5th, yet I still got a door tag on my door marked, "FINAL DELIVERY." The rep I talked to on Nov. 7 still insisted that I would get the package on Saturday Nov. 8, as I requested. Well, that did not happen. Sadly, at approx. 3:20 PM on Saturday Nov. 8, I called Fedex AGAIN, as it was getting late, and still no delivery. I was then informed that the package was not out for delivery, as it had been attempted delivery 3 TIMES! I explained that the point of my calling them on Nov. 5 was to ask that the package be re-delivered on Saturday to keep the driver from trying to deliver the package when I would not be at home. The rep that I talked to on Saturday informed me that the information never filtered down from customer service to the driver!

So, part two of this is I immediately ask to speak to a supervisor, and then I was transferred to Fedex's Customer Expierience Center in Cincinnati. I talked to Tina. Tina was nice, and after I explained this fiasco to her, she was appologetic. I asked her if the package could still be re-delivered for Tuesday Nov. 11, as it is a holiday, and I would be at home. She said that she would put it in the system, and she contacted the terminal to mark it for re-delivery on Tuesday Nov. 11.

Now it is Tuesday AM around 10:20. I decide to call fedex to confirm that my package is out for delivery. Boy was I met with a surprise. I was informed by a lousy rep in my terminal that the package, "would not be re-delivered because the driver already attempted delivery three times." I told the rep that I called last week to have this delivery scheduled, Fedex dropped the ball, so get this guy out here to do his job! Well, she told me, "Fedex drivers are independent contractors and they can refuse to deliver after they have attempted delivery.

So, to make a long story end...Fedex basically told me, "Yeah, we screwed up, but due to outsourcing, this is the best customer service we can provide. We can not make the driver come back out to your residence. The driver has told us that he had to walk up 3 flights of stairs, the boxes are heavy, his truck is now full and he is not re-delivering the package, even though it was our fault that the driver did not get the message that you called."

I guess I should become an independent contractor so I can tell my employer what I will and will not do! I now officially hate fedex. Big business in this country with all this damn outsourcing is out of control. No one is accountable anymore, and these businesses are so large that they really don't care what happens.

FEDEX HELD PACKAGES HOSTAGE
Carlsbad, US
Apr 04, 2011 3:04 pm EDT

WE ARE A PRODUCTION COMPANY CALIFORNIA AND NEW JERSEY, PROVIDING NEWS FOOTAGE TO TV STATIONS AS PART OF OUR DAILY BUSINESS.

OUR PRODUCTION MANAGER TENDERED 5 FEDEX ENVELOPES TO A LOCAL FEDEX DEPOT ON SATURDAY FOR DELIVERY FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING TO OUR NETWORK ACCOUNTS FOR LIVE BROADCASTS.

FEDEX HAD DECIDED THAT OUR ACCOUNT HAS HAD SOME FORM OF FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY (THAT THEY REFUSE TO DISCUSS, DOCUMENT OR REVEAL), SO THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DELIVER ANY AND ALL OF OUR PACKAGES.

THERE WAS NO ONE TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH FEDEX OVER THE WEEKEND AND WHEN WE WERE ABLE TO CONTACT THE FEDEX SECURITY MANAGER ON MONDAY MORNING, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE QUESTIONS WE WERE ASKING ABOUT OUR TIME VALUE PACKAGES (WHY, WHERE, WHEN) WOULD NOT BE ANSWERED AND THE PACKAGES WOULD BE RETURNED TO US.

MAY I SUGGEST THAT THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY FOR FEDEX TO DEAL WITH LONG TERM BUSINESS CUSTOMERS AND CLEARLY FEDEX HAS NO IDEA WHAT THAT WAY COULD POSSIBLY BE.

I am currently going through the same thing. I needed to reschedule a package delivery as I am a teacher and can't take a day off to wait for a package at home. Unfortunately it has now been a week later and still no package, and I did leave a note on the door that they could even leave it without a signature. They haven't even tried to deliver it. So I called and I hope to God that the package is where it is supposed to be tomorrow when I drive to pick it up or I am going to go off on some poor customer representative and then their supervisor.

FedEx fictitious delivery attempt

I was waiting all day for two FedEx packages today, October 24, 2008. Here are the tracking numbers:

[protected]

[protected]

My address is on a very large and well-known street in Chicago (Irving Park Road) and the building has very clear numbers above the door. I left a note downstairs to ring the top buzzer outside (which also has my name) or to call me (and left my number) and that I would come downstairs immediately.

I received the first package before noon. The driver called me before coming to the building (from a nearby address) and I met him downstairs. This worked out great.

The second package never came so I went to the FedEx web site to track it at 5:30pm where it said the following, "5:01pm customer not at home or business closed." I WAS AT HOME AND THIS FEDEX DRIVER IS TELLING LIES! HE NEVER EVEN CAME HERE TODAY. There was no note. They are supposed to leave a sticker or a door hanger, but there was nothing.

I called customer service and they very nonchalantly explained to me that I would just have to wait till tomorrow. So now I have to alter my plans and spend another whole day waiting for this package!

This is a horrible, horrible service. There is not even a complaint field at FedEx.com, anywhere on the site, for customer benefit and quality improvement. It is quite clear that FedEx does not care at all about its customers.

FEDEX claims they delivered a 6 pound package to my door on october 29th, 2008 in Ashburn VA. I told them I never recieved it. Fedex went on and on about how the tracking number shows it was delievered and how they dont require signatures for just any shipment at my apartment building. UPS customer service on the other hand confirmed that they do require signatures on every shipment to my apartment. Thats because UPS cares.

I strongly believe FEDEX had trouble making the 2 day delivery and just scanned the package delivered. They probably never delivered it. My personal opinion is that they are a fraudelent company who will cause grief to many people all over. Hope my next shipment comes UPS or even from the post office.

I had the same situation. They had the delivery date on the web site as December 7th. I was waiting all day. Took off work, didn't leave the house all day. They changed the delivery date that same date at night.
Unethical, terrible service!

FedEx fictitious delivery attempt

I spent the whole day waiting for my FedEx package today, checking the tracking number every couple of hours. Needless to say, it was important to me and supposed to have been delivered today, Oct 24, 2008. Last time I checked the tracking number was at 5:30pm and it said there was an attempted delivery (A LIE!) at 5:01pm, but that I was not at home! I left a very clear and simple note on the door - to press the top buzzer or call my telephone number. The top buzzer has my name on it. Nobody ever came; there was no note on the door. This driver needs to be fired. I then called and talked to some very ambivalent customer service reps: Stephanie Hawkins and "Miss Laquita" (would provide no other name, but said her agent number was 625533.) They both told me that the location that now has my package is closed (half an hour after this fictional "delivery attempt"), and that I would have to wait tomorrow. So I have to alter my plans and spend entire day at home. Or maybe another day after that should your lazy liar driver happen to want to duck out a little early to catch that happy hour! THIS IS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE. I WILL NEVER USE FEDEX AGAIN AND I WILL INSIST THAT MY PACKAGES, BOTH INBOUND AND OUTBOUND BE SENT USING UPS, DHL, USPS OR ANY OTHER SERVICE.

Fedex Ground couriers -- the Green Fedex Logo folks -- are independent contractors. Apparently (as one of these couriers told me) they do not get paid unless they actually deliver the package to you.

Despite repeated explicit instructions to FedEx that I DO NOT WISH FOR THEM TO LEAVE MY PACKAGE AT A NEIGHBOR'S HOME WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT, I constantly get messages from my neighbors about them holding a package for me. The Fedex (Ground) Courier just plays stupid -- Oh Really? I didn't know that...

Even when I call to request that my package be held at the station for me to pick it up, this is ignored. The Fedex Ground courier attempts to use all 3 tries to get the package to me so they can get paid. I can understand wanting to get paid but if it requires that they ignore my request.

FedEx awful company

Fedex delivered my package today & left a sweet little door tag stating that they attempted to deliver my package, but no one is home so? Either pick it up or re-attempt to deliver tom. Let's rewind, I was taking a shower when i heard the doorbell (oops) i couldn't answer the door... that's when i notice the door tag & called the 800 immediately. Spoke to an associate & a reattempt will happen. Waited for 4 hrs, called FedEX, message of reattempt never processed. WHAT? Spoke to 2 more until the manager. Basically, all that i spoke to lied. Excuse-VILLE!

These people are modern cyber-pirates. At a time when most of us in the USA are suffering, these people are pulling the old "Bait & Switch" scam. Is FedEX condoning this action bt allowing these theives to use their service? If this action does not stop, I will be forced to report any and all activities to the authorities.
shame on all of those participating in this TERRIBLE SCAM during this economic crisis.

I am sending you a complaint against Fedex. HP sent me a shipement for reparing my computer through Fedex on 9/18/08, I got a notice from my door it says Fedex delivered it at 9:30 am on 9/18/08 to my home but I was not at home and they will try to deliver it before 10:30 am on 9/19/08. I stayed at home called Fedex at 8:00 am on 9/19/08 asking them to deliver it to me as soon as possible and I waited at home for that. Nobody showed up, I kept calling Fedex about five times to let them deliver it to my home and I waited about 11:10 am on 9/19/08. There is still nobody came to my home, then I left for my business. I called Fedex again at 8:00 am on 9/20/08 about delivering the shipment to my home, they told me they can not deliver, I have to wait until 9/22/08. I called them at 7:00 am on 9/22/08 about deliver the shipment to me, I told them very clearly please deliver it to my apartment management office just beside my apartment because I don't have time to wait at my home. They told me it is OK, they will deliver it before 10:30 am on 9/22/08 to the management office. I called management office at 11:30 am on 9/22/08 to check if they received a package from Fedex for me, they said they did not receive anything from Fedex. Then I called Fedex asking they why, they told me the management offic was closed. I called management office again, they said the management office is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm M-F and there is always someone in the office. I called Fedex about 5 times again, request them to deliver to the management office on 9/23/08, they told me I have to write something with my signature to let the driver to deliver it to the management office before 10:30 am on 9/23/08. I wort a note about deliver the shipment to my managment office on my door with my signature to the driver and left home. I called Fedex at 11:00 am on 9/23/08 to see if the driver deliver or not, they told me the driver already delivered it to the management office. Then I called the management office to check the Fedex package, they told me they did not receive anything from Fedex and there is always someone in the office from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday. I called Fedex again asking they why they lied and lied a lot of time to me? I also sent about 5 emails to Fedex customer service about the bad experience I had with Fedex. I called HP I did not receive anything from Fedex, HP also called Fedex asking them to deliver the shipment to the management office. Fedex never deliver the shipment to the management office, I told HP they should get refund from Fedex and never use Fedex again, because Fedex is such a bad service for people.

Thank you very much and looking forward to hearing from you soon!

If you read through the "Liabilities Not Assumed" section of FedEx's dis-service guide, you will find that they have excused themselves from virtually every mistake they could possibly make. The money-back guarantee is a lie and you WILL NOT BE REFUNDED if they fail to deliver as promised. They usually use the "bad weather " excuse, but don't stop there. I even had one customer dis-service rep of theirs tell me that in order to process a claim for damage, I had to provide an estimate for the cost of unbending a framed poster that was made and packed by FedEx Kinko's. The box was bent in half during transit. Unbend paper? Needless to say, I couldn't find anyone with those kind of superpowers, so we ate the cost of the poster (almost $200 and the shipping, $60) and had no poster at the event where it was to be used.

Unfortunately, my boss likes them because he owns stock in FedEx. I maintain a summary of the hours spent trying to fix their mistakes and the results (mostly negative) so that soon, I will be able to convince the boss to switch to UPS. It has become so frustrating knowing that when I call customer service, the first thing they will do is excuse themselves from any wrong-doing rather than apologizing or working to resolve the problem and make the customer happy. And I'm sure that's intentional in order to discourage people from attempting to recover their losses.

The most recent incident was a x-mas gift sent by us to an investor that arrived broken and a day late. They have an excuse for both mistakes: they don't pay to replace or repair ceramics, and of course, bad weather made them late.

Our company uses Fed Ex for all our shipments, samples, overnight, etc. We never had problems until recently. We have an account with them and we usually drop off our package, we sent a sample of paperboard weighting 1 pound, but they charged us for 68 pounds. We requested a refund and even told them we would stop using them and they said there is nothing they can do. I have a bill here for $48 for a one pound package to go about less than five miles down the street. I would have save myself the time and money if I just went myself!

FedEx killed my dog

I was heading off to work, but I stopped to pick up my mail. I had my best friend, Niro with me, my standard poodle who was 31 inches tall. The mail had dropped, I had Niro on a leash . I went to pick up the mail, Niro spotted a pitbull loose across the street who the day before was on my property growling at me and my dog as i pulled my dog into the house. The next daywhen picking up the mail off the ground, Niro spotted the pitbull and pull the leash from my hand. My hands were weak from fribromyalgia and he took off so fast. By the time I turned my head and saw the Fedex van travelling fast, 40 miles per hour is the limit on the road, The Fedex driver hit Niro in the head and shoulder. The driver didn't stop as I screamed crying to stop! stop! help me!. repeatedly. I weeped in the middle of the road, trying to pick up Niro who weighed 65 pounds and was large. I quess there is alot to be said about an edrenaline rush. Yes, Niro ran into the street, but the driver who represents Fedex who takes such pride in their humanistic missions and donations really did a diservice to the human race let alone Fedex. He also lied on the police report stating that I stopped him and said to him " Don't worry, its not your fault, he does this all the time." What get Killed, run across the road?' He also said that he stopped, he didn't, only 2 blocks away, he wasn't in my sight, but noted on the police report that he did see me in the middle of route 70 and heard the screams.I can't imagine someone being so inhumane, not to assist in any way, shape or form. Such a disregard for life, for me and my dog, I certainly could have gotten run over, what was I to do? Leave him? I didn't know if he was still alive. To say the least I am not at all happy with the double standards of Fedex. I am following up, no it is not acceptable for the (human?) race to be so exalted from feeling any sense of compassion for one another. Critics that don't see the point of this need not to respond. I work for a State Forensic facility with people that have committed the most horrendous crimes, even they eventually take responsibility, I hope Fedex does, it is no different than losing a family member. He was also my therapy dog, as I have seizures.b

FedEx totally incompetent... fedex nearly cost me my job

We had a meeting overseas (Berlin) for which our team had prepared a large amount of meeting materials that took 2-3 months to complete. The client for whom these materials were for was our biggest account and as as production manager, I was overseeing the project.

$15K worth of print matter was sent via FedEx International Priority. Based on the shipment size, contents, destination, etc., I was told guaranteed delivery within 3 business days. Now, I realize that when you're dealing with customs, all bets are more or less off, but I was ssured by the agent that I spoke to that if I had the proper paperwork and there were no major delays in transit, no hold up should occur and that if one did, it was built into that 3-day window.

I checked the tracking hourly once it went out. Everything was fine. Only 2 days after we sent the shipment off, the site reflected that all boxes had cleared customs and were in transit to the local facility in the destination area. Great! Shipment on target to arrive that evening. I called sometime later to check the status over the phone and got the same message--in transit. That raised a red flag because it had been in transit for an awfully long time. When I called, I was told that not only had the shipment not gone to the facility, but that it never actually left customs. The website had an error, I was told. And amazingly, the CSR admitted that the automated tracking service through 800-GO-FEDEX is not reliable.

After much back and forth and lots of folks unable to asnwer my questions, I figured out that the lead package cleared customs on the morning of the second day and was sent off to Berlin...and the other 18 stayed in Frankfurt. Why they wouldn't release the other ASAP after that is beyond me, but unfortunately they just sat in a facility. No one called me despite my having listed my telephone number and having written special notes to PLEASE inform me if there were customs d elays. Then on the third day, the lead package was sent BACK to Frankfurt to be with the other packages. Why, I can't understand.

Well, I thought, okay, I still have Saturday as the meeting is Sunday and Friday was the 3rd business day. So it'll be a rush, but it'll slide in under the door. No panic. Sorry! FedEx facility is closed on weekends! So the shipment will be delivered Monday evening at the earliest. Yeah. That'll be a great help when the meeting is over and I'm out of a job.

The CSR folks were just awful. Every person had a different answer for me. No one seemed remorseful. No one could tell me why I hadn't been called when the shipment missed its "guaranteed" deadline. No one could explain why the FedEx tracking system had errors. No one could explain why the 19 packages needed to stay together if all had copies of the original waybill and all had cleared customs. No one could explain why they got separated in the first place. Just a lot of run around and promises to "investigate."

LUCKILY what saved my ### was my customs broker who drove 5 hours from Berlin to Frankfurt to retrive the shipment (who also had not been called despite clear instructions to do so in the even of delay). Honestly, if they hadn't done that, I would probably have gotten fired...doesn't matter how good the job looks unless it actually gets SEEN by people and utilized as intended, and it doesn't matter this this screw-up wasn't my fault, or that the client took their sweet time finalizing the work and ignored my numerous reminders of deadlines.

So, I'm DONE with FedEx. I should've known better and used DHL or UPS as I'd heard that FedEx isn't great but I just figured, well...it's FedEx! They're the best, right? Incidentally, I had 6 boxes of CDs made and sent to Berlin directly from the vendor via UPS and despite those being sent BACK to the States because of an issue with customs once they'd arrive in Germany, they STILL arrived by the 3rd business day.
