Car returned to Southampton Airport - no-one present to confirm no damage so we took photos and video. 1 month later a fraudulent claim of a 2-5 cm scratch arrived by post in Australia.
Can charges be pressed against Europcar for attempting to take insurance excess? Are individuals remunerated for attempting to increase revenue via untrue damage claims?
Desired outcome: Claim is dropped and deposit refunded immediately. I will consider pressing charges if refund is not made in 5 days.

5 years ago I swore I would never use them again - I hope to remember this feeling.
Always take photos and videos - keep all documents. If they do not make money out of renting a car, they do it by ripping off travellers once they are home.
