false advertising product doesn't work
While looking for a free trial virus removal program, I saw that Spyhunter specifically indicated that they are the ones to remove "Delta-Search.com" which prevents Mozilla's Firefox from starting.
After downloading spyhunter, they proceeded to scan my whole computer and came up with over 1000 "errors" that needed "immediate attention" Most were tracking cookies!
I let the program remove the "issues" and it only cleared 50 of the simplest ones.
Program NEVER touched or mentions the delta-search virus etc.
But they did want me to buy their product for further "help"! NOT. I did not buy.
Tried to look up their contact info and nothing seems to direct me for at least an email address. They seem to have a "main" office in Clearwater Fl and another office in Stamford, CT.
What a fraud! Especially when a non-techie needs assistance.

The company was sure, after a test, to solve spy problems on my computer and pretended to charge 29. 99 € for that. Once i accepted and gave my credit card information, i had the surprise to read : your account has been lessened of 71 € ! The companby "sold" me extra software i never asked for (29. 99 €) and charged an extra 11 € for a mysterious service.
I wrote to the company that i did not want the service anymore and i received just one answer : we will answer later.
No answer, ever. I was stolen on july 1st 2013.
I had the same issue with Spy Hunter. I was renewing my subscription. I was careful to read what my choices were and only checked the box for renewal. I gave all of my information and went to the next screen. I was immediately charged for both the renewal and something else I did not check or want. I had to find the phone number for customer service and called them. They issued me a refund but said it will take 5-7 days in order for the refund to be applied to my account. This is unethical and also may be illegal. If it happened to the person in the 2013 post and it happened to me today in 2016, then nothing has been fixed. And this company is continuing this unethical business practice. By this company holding onto our money for 5-7 days, they have the ability to invest it and earn interest off of it. For me personally, the amount is low. But multiply that times millions of consumers, and that is a huge cash cow. This company needs to be investigated and perhaps it is time for a class action law suit.
I was charged for spy ware I did not authorize in June 2014 and a credit was issued; however, the charge was applied again this month.
If you didn't give that company your card number, call the customer service number on your card, immediately, report fraud, and you will get a new credit card. If you did give the company the number and expiration date, then you didn't read the fine print. You subscribed to a service and will have to keep trying to cancel.

The program has caused my computer to crash and continues to ask me to register and pay for more products. Twice I had my computer repaired and now I want to be refunded the full amount of $69.98 to my Chase account.
Enigma billed be $39.99 for a service that I cancelled and did not request renewal for.
It is my belief that this business is practicing outside of the law, billing customers for services not rendered.
I am extremely upset and will never use Enigma Software again and warn against those who may be considering downloading Spy Hunter in the future.

Spyhunter and auto renewal is NOT FOR OUR CONVENIENCE AS STATED! It's about grabbing our money PERIOD and it's certainly NOT Convenient to have to make several calls to get our money BACK. They are Way over priced and there are better and less expensive other choices.

I have purchased SpyHunter software online one year ago. Subsequently I removed it from the computer because it did not do me any good. As many other Spyware mallware programs I have tried it runs not needed checks and declares many infections and then "cleans" them. My computer continues to be sluggish and I have a lots of problems. The bottom line the SpyHunter was totally useless. I did not even try to get money back from enigmasoftware.com
About a month ago the credit card I have used to purchase the SpyHunter was charged for the renewal of software I have never installed on my computer by a company named www.iomatic.com for reneval of a software named Registry Medic. I looked the statements of all my credit cards for the Summer of 2009 and found out that the only software I have purchased online was from www.enigmasoftware.com. This made the connection. Plus enigmasoftware.com has in its line of products software named Registry Medic. I could not find if these two companies are business related but I am sure www.enigmasoftware.com have provided my credit card information to iomatic.com.
I have not found the spyhunter program to be particularly useful. At one point I was prompted to pay and had already paid but thought that it had not been recorded. It took a very long time to turn this around. I cannot use this program. It is always prompting me to register and to pay again. I finally sent them an email asking to be removed from their registry and to allow me to remove the program from my computer. If you hit the please remove button it justs reinstalls the same program. Emailing them just stimulates more requests for re-registering and more requests for payments. I sure want this program out of my life. Would I ever buy anything from Enigma again. Nope. Never.

I was billed $29.99 on my credit card for DRI SPYHUNTER that I did not order because I never use the account it was billed to. I have no idea what this is and I cannot find any company online called DRI SPYHUNTER.

BEWARE - An unauthorized charge appeared on my Capital One Mastercard account for $29.99. When I called I was transferred to an overseas call center and harassed. The customer service representative insisted that I provide my email address (which I refused). When I requested a supervisor, she placed me on HOLD for a long time with LOUD classical music blaring. The guy that got on the phone was clearly not a supervisor and hung up on me. On the third call I reached a person who told me that I ordered computer virus protection - curious since I only use Norton Anitvirus products. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company.
I am 77 years old pensioner I never asked for a renewal spyhunter they just take my money out of my credit card (Visa) has been debited with 25.99 GBP.

I ordered RegHunter & SpyHunter in 2013 through Enigma. Things were going smooth and I rarely checked my CC statement as I noticed periodic charges by SafeCart. Apparently, in Aug 2015, Feb 2016, and Aug 2016, I had one charge by DRI for the same product being billed by SafeCart.
Then beginning in Jan 2017/Feb 2017, I started getting double charges by DRI, one of which was converted from euros. This would occur every six months along with the periodic SafeCart billing.
I cancelled my subscriptions (after noticing more infections, slower speed, and terrible online reviews) as directed through Enigma website, and confirmed by SafeCart via email, and yet in July 2018 and this month I've noticed new charges by DRI, one of which is converted from euros. How did this go from SafeCart handling both to another vendor also handling billing?
It seems to me either Enigma doesn't have a hold on their accounts, or somehow duplicate charges are filtering out to different financial centers, or this is a total scam by DRI/SafeCart/Enigma/all.

6 October 2015 Dri Spyhunter deducted two payments off my account that I did not Authorised R553.17and R414.85. I made a purchase from them many months ago. We have provided a full refund, as requested, to the user by the username of "colliers".
After receiving a BBB complaint, in good faith, I contacted Colliers (Mr. Forchilli). Colliers says in his BBB complaint: "At the time of purchase no working software is delivered, inquiries to their tech support not responded to and there is no agreement of subscription".
Colliers' statement "They are supposedly refunding me for the software I didn't order, although they don't offer any explanation as to why it was charged for it in the first place" is false and deceptive.
I stand by my previous statement "At Enigma Software Group, we work hard to maintain the best level of service and make sure that every customer becomes a satisfied customer" and have written documentation to prove my words.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
There are better and cheaper options out there. Even some well-known free antivirus are far better than this scamware. $80 for a year? Really?
An appalling piece of garbage.
1. It doesn't work. In a test performed by AV-Lab on a set of 1000 trojans, viruses, backdoors, worms, keyloggers and other malware, Spyhunter detected only ONE. Yes, one! 2. Enigma Software is hiding. According to their webpage their address is 2803 Gulf to Bay Blvd., Suite #446, Clearwater, FL 33759. That is a UPS store. Their are hiding behind a box. And of course there is no phone number on their webpage.
3. They will scam your credit card. Mastercard or Visa should investigate them.
Please download free Avast or AVG or Malwarebytes or Microsoft Defender.
What VISA rules are: “Preauthorized Transfers:A "preauthorized transfer" is one of a series of recurring electronic fund transfers at substantially regular intervals.53 A preauthorized transfer cannot be made from your account at a financial institution unless (a) you have given advance authorization in writing, and (b) a copy of your written preauthorization has been given to you by the party obtaining it”
so i purchased SPYHUNTER for 10 USD, and preauthorization enigmasoftware kept withdrawn every 6 month for 39.99 USD twice, this is done without my any means of approve. sure the Spyhunter even didn’t work and installed at all many emails returned useless so i erased and gasped 10 USD. But later on noticed that ( from spam emails) enigmasoftware was hacking my account without my approve or my ok. Perhaps used my 3 digit secure cod, violating VISA CARD rules. now they use excuse my language barrier, assume that i am not native Eng speaker, so they can get away with their scamming and fraudulent activity. Never ever i have given auto recharging authority or auto renewal approve. Autorenewal is optional but they make it OBLIGATORY.so never ever purchase SPYHUNTER, useless s###. Certainly I will file case to court for international fraudulent actin and using my account any authorization. They better provide proof of my written signed authorization.Period.
I got the free trial version of spyhunter and I started the scan. It took very long to complete and when it completed I found out that it doesnt remove virus UNTIL we pay for it. personally I think its a bit too much, theyre are many antivirus software that atleast have proper product trials. I was still ready to buy spy hunter 4 because theyre were SO many viruses I was dying to remove but I couldnt, they were all detected by spy hunter. A little while later, I obviously had to run a scan on my computer, so I used microsoft security essentials, and it only detected ONE virus, and that was spy hunter. So now I am confused and afraid... is spy hunter really an antivirus program? Or does it make viruses and then remove them?! I wouldve tested it myself but its paid so I think Im going to find a better alternative...
Junk ware Spyhunter needs to be removed from every website that support a healthy computer through user friendly utilities. After installing the software it said problem found. Interesting that it was a fresh sandbox install. I would never recommend this software to anybody!

I search online for a free ransomware removal tool found spyhunter. I read like it was free so I dnlded it and ran it. After finding items to remove, it did not remove them. Instead it wanted me to pay for the removal by a subscription.
WTH...They advertise FREE then want to charge you, I would not trust this company they mislead you.

2 amounts of £23.99 & £31.19 were takeout of my Nationwide a/c on the 28th May 2016 for dri spyhunter.Transaction no [protected]. I have attempted to uninstall Spy Hunter and I found it impossible, this was not what I bargained for ! I wound appreciate any help taking this program in whole out of my laptop.

I have check my bank statement and I noticed that I have been charged £59.17 on 20th April 2009 with the Bank reference DRI SPYHUNTER [protected] GB. I did not authorsise this payment and want the charges refunding as soon as possible. I gave this company my card details 2yrs ago for a one off payment for the security software but was unaware that the company would keep my details on record and just help themselves! Don't purchase the spyhunter software. It crashed my laptop and put it into a virtual loop. There is no way to
contact the company. There is no telephone number. Only email tickets and they don't respond back. They
will also rebill your credit card every 6 mos if you don't stop them right away. Be careful !

Oh Im in tears, my PCs screan is black works only in safe mode, spybast@ard removed from disk c, files, control pannel. Screen still black and pc frozen spent 8hours might loose years of family photoes of my kids please somebody help! Oh and hope they hit into better ### that will freeze their ##@% lives forever.
SPYHUNTER 4 IS THE WORST ARGH! I had a couple of viruses, they didn't do anything harmful, I just didn't like having them around.. When I used spyhunter 4, it detected 1086 threat and when I tried to delete them, Spyhunter allegedly did everything and when it asked me to restart the PC, I did and now it keeps giving me some black screen with white numbers/letters and I can't do anything, I'm afraid of losing my data! I have the same problem as this guy…

I just purchased this product and it would freeze. I uninstalled it and requested my money to be refunded. Tech support had the NERVE to tell me that I had been sold an old version (which I purchased 3 weeks ago!) and that there is now a new version and if I would just download that one, all would be well. They got on the phone and he tried to work it out, for me but couldn't get things resolved. My tech support for my computer helped me with it and I am now able to boot up the cd/dvd, which I couldn't do before... but the SypHunter people took care of me for as much as they could do... Thanks

Hello: I too am frustrated with spyhunter. It has put my computer in a continuous loop... I can't go any where except logging into the bios.. and it won't let me run a windows boot disk from either a usb, or the cd rom dirve... So my system is completely screwed... I can't find anything on the internet to help he get the system to boot up... I only get a Grub command line promt . Any help would be greatly appreciated... I have a Sabertooth z87 motherboard bios version 1405 with a i7-4770k @3.50 GHz

Called AMEX and told them to stop payment, but seems like is still pending so I have to wait 3 days.
In a way I will like the opportunity to talk to someone at Enigma, it'll be fun to listen to their explanation, I'm sure it will be worth a chuckle or two!

DRI Spyhunter is a scam. I purchased the software for 29.99, and it did nothing. I was amazed there were no reviews on the internet making clear the product was worthless. Six months later I got an email saying "thank you for your purchase" and a second charge of 29.99 automatically taken from my account. I never authorized recurring billing. I called [protected] and was told the charge would be reversed immediately. This is a fraud most likely set up to dupe people out of money who don't check their bank statements thoroughly.

I am having the same problem. I was looking for a spyware for my husband's computer and found them. I haven't gotten the software and the laptop crash. They took 29.99 on my credit card. Then just a month ago, they took another 29.99. My credit card went over the limit because I was not expecting this charge plus the overlimit fee. I tried to challenge the charge on my credit card but this company said it is for renewal. What renewal? I never even visited their website again because I was not able to use the software. This is a scam and am also filing a complaint.
