My account gets suspended every week because the February amount does not reflect on their side. To get the account re-installed I get charged R50. Every week I spend atleast R30 on phone calls trying in vain to sort this matter. I have faxed a dozen times the proof of payment but no one ever calls back- but the Customer Care personel always promise that someone will call within 24 hours. In the mean time the arrear keep going up.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I suggest that Multichoice should change their name to multirepeat - you guys do not think the viewing of movies or programs through - I think you should plan the viewings more and get rid of repeats.
MM1 - Movie magic channel 1 is over sized all the time, who on earth is manning that channel - if any? Doesn't anybody know that this is a problem?
Home Style Discovery and national geography - First you guys annoy us with the most idiotic mobile ringtone ads - then you drive a viewer crazy by broadcasting the same ads from the relative channel respectively continuously - even advertising the program you are busy watching. Who came up with that idea? You will drive yourselves crazy watching the channels - I dare anyone to sit and watch the home channel the whole day or any other of the above mentioned channels without starting to lip sync with all the ads. Who came up with this idea - that person should be banned from adding anything "constructive" to our viewing plan.
Why is the HD decoder so expensive and why do you only get a HD decoder with PVR - you showcase everything at least 15 times a month - you don't need PVR because Multichoice has their own PVR. You should write a book: How to fool consumers into thinking they have amnesia and getting paid for it.
I think a lot of people are sick of your viewing planning and corners being cut - carry on and a lot of people will cut you out of their monthly expense. I'd rather do something else than feel like I do now.

I totally agree DSRT is making money out of us by repeating shows every day. it is ridiculous the way management is handling this matter. I will also not speak about the current tariffs that are also ridiculous i remember the day when MTN came out we did not hand these issues. I think i must totally cancel my account and go to show max or rather rent series at the video store. Multichoice is becoming part of the Guptas and the corrupt government. i am happy to see every day the same program even if they switch it over to another channel... The reality is we are paying for sh.t and no body is doing anything about it. Maybe DSTV runs out of ideas because they repeat their program. the UK and USA are better off than us. They say down with Zuma i think they must say down with DSTV
reconnection fees
My decoder started being faulty early this year, i called multichoice and one of their agents told me to take it to my nearest multichoice. the person never told me i should ask for the decoder to be disconnected. i had to move from where i was staying so i did not take it in for repairs. in august i took it to multichoice and i was told they would replace it for a fee of R325-00. i called multichoice last week for reconnection i' now told i have to pay them R1800-00 (not exactly sure of amount). i failed to understand how this could be since i was not paying them debit order. i paid in cash wich in in advance.
It is absolutely pathethic that myself and millions of clients should pay their monthly premium religiously and all we see is the same programs playing over and over again.I pay 655 monthly and there is absolutely nothing new and exciting.Please try and make a plan with immediate effect.

I thought this service was a pay as you go one(similar to a phone pay as you go service_where you only use what you've payed for), but then my mother warned me about a re connection fee I`d have to pay if i skipped 2 months payment. 2(two) days later i receive a text message from multichoice stating that i owe R480 instead of the usual R319... i mean i skipped only one payment, so please fill me in! PLEASE! I’m Elizbeth Lawson and want to tell everyone commenting here should beware of SCAM and avoid comments about spell caster that can use their magical power in helping you out with your problems. i don’t want anyone to be fooled because i was a victim of this fraudsters who claimed to be spell caster. I was having a difficult time in my relationship as i couldn’t give birth to a child. Although my husband loved me very much as it were, we kept on hoping and for 4years there weren’t any sign of breakthrough. As days goes by, i will always weep because at that time i was really down. The next day which was on the 3rd day i felt something different in my body and quickly went for a check up and to my greatest surprise, i was pregnant. How possible could this be but it happened and am very thankful. we are now happily bind again and all thanks to DR. NICE OKSE for his solution.

More than R2000 was deducted from my Bank Account on the 2nd of March 2015, when investigating I realised that my Old PVR were switched on again. I upgraded to an explorer, the old HD PVR were just sitting in the cupboard. One of my friends asked me about the PVR because his was damaged by Lightning, I gave the decoder to him with a letter that stated that he has bought the PVR from me, I also gave him a copy of my ID as proof.
His wife went to Multichoice in Lydenburg and they were told that they cannot help them, I haven’t completed a change of ownership letter. Today when investigating this matter I was told by Sevello that they cannot activate a decoder without a change of ownership letter and a verified copy of my ID with the commissioner of oath stamp on it. I then asked him for the proof of where I gave permission to theme to switch on the PVR, he then told me that a copy of my ID is enough, when I questioned this statement I was told that it is my mistake.
I have called my Friend about this situation and they went to the Police Station to lay of an affidavit.
Does this mean I can steal a decoder? I just have to make sure I steal the owners ID book as well – How’s that for a month’s free subscription.

if i agreed with all the above a trillion times it still would not be enough as to how i feel about dstv CRAP
I have phoned them 3 times to confirm the cancellation of my connection, but they keep taking the amount of R920 off my account on the 1st of the
month. It has cost me two reversals of R25 each plus petrol to the bank and back of 10km each time.
I want compensation for this and I want hem to stop trying to steal from me when my connection is cancelled.
Why do Dstv increase the monthly payment but every day they show the same program over and over again nothing new No new movies or Afrikaanse Flieks or something to enjoy its the same old stories over and over again I am really going to cancel Dstv this is ridiculous to pay so much money for dstv and that for the same things everyday no thanks. You don't give our customers something to lookout for or to be happy with so all I can say is you are going to lose a lot of clients at the end of the day because you don't make it worth it for us.
DSTV is the only company that gets away with having a consumer pay 4/5 times a week, 8/20 times a month and 96+ times per year to consume (watch) the same movie - And no one does anything about it!
If we say watch the movie @ R30.00 each -
in one week to see the same movie will cost you R150.00
in one month to see the same movie will cost you R600.00
in one year to see the same movie will cost you R2, 880.00
So in essence we are paying about R2, 880.00 to see a movie on DSTV!
While you welcome complaint, I would like to submit my complements for repeating some of the movies. In particular I like the movie in National geographical channel (260) entitled "DOWN TO THE EARTH'S CORE". In fact I would like to poses that movie. How do I go about getting a copy of that movie. If it is paying please let me know how much. Unfortunately I do not have HDPVR DECORDER

How come we can land a man on the moon -- but dstv can't get the volume levels of the different channels all at a 'normal' level? When you switch channels, the sound level on one just about blows your head off (I use headphones) or else it's down to a faint whisper. And then there's the ear-splitting blast when an ad is broadcast... Surely the technology exists to control sound levels at the broadcasting source?
watching 2010 programs again in 2011...they don't seem to care or give a [censor]...they are just happy to take our money and think there's nothing any one can do ...well the new consumer act should have some grounds by which we can claim back our monthly subscription fee for lack of service delivery...alternatively..we can start a group on FB to boycott them till they give us new programs on a continuous basis...

unauthorised reactivation of account
1.I requested my account, which has 3 decoders on it disconnected on 23/9/08 as i am unable to afford the service any longer.
2.The 3 decoders are in different locations, in different properties.
3. The account is in my name and deductions are from my bank account. 4. On 9/10/08, While enquiring about the refund due to me as per my discussion with call center agent Desiree on 23/9, I discovered the service had been reactivated.
4.Without my knowledge or notification in any form or manner, the service was reconnected simply by another party supplying my ID number.
In effect multichoice have allowed another person to incur costs on my behalf without my consent or without notifying me of a change.
I have not had a phone call returned from the corporate offices in JHB left yesterday and not received any satisfactory answers from call center agents Tebogo or Gabriel.
This is reckless behaviour with my money and I expect nothing less than what was indicated to me as a refund by Desiree when disconnected.
Am number one fun of the Bundesliga especially bayern but to my disappointment we are no longer watching live matches and the recorded are screened late in the night. we really pay a lot of money in terms of subscription lets know what is happening.

I've got 2 decoders - the 1 for my mom Mrs AS Moller (Mrs Y Bester REF [protected]) and other one for myself Mrs Y Kilian (REF [protected]. The last 3 months I've battled to get multi choice to send the books to the correct addresses. They suddenly decided to change the address for Y Bester Ref [protected] and send both books to P O Box 1234, Worcester.

Frustrated with multichoice customer service!
I have been so frustrated with the customer service at Multichoice, that I know revert to writing this down, as I cannot explain this issue one more time to someone who works shifts and finds it impossible to keep their word, and get back to me as they ALL promise.

In March 2006, I disconnected my service with MultiChoice, as I moved to Mozambique for an unknown period. On 27 Fear I asked a friend, to phone Multichoice on my behalf, using my DSTV number, to inquire re the reconnection fees,(monthly and yearly) She did this, and concluded this conversation in saying that we will come back to confirm if we wanted to pay for this on monthly or a yearly basis. Thus not confirming it during the call.
On 27 March, to my shock and surprise I saw that the amount of R 858.93 was deducted by Multichoice. I was horrified. And then the terrible journey began to try and sort this out with your call centre. I phoned on 2/4/2007, spoke to Henri, see above ref number. All he did was to say the call will be retreated and he will get back to me before the end of the week, On Thursday I called just to find that nothing was done.
On Tuesday 10/4/2007 I called again (even though Multichoice said they would call me back. ) I spoke to Nicky, she escalated the problem to the complains manager. Later in the week I called again, and spoke to Marilynn Collins, to whom I had to again explain the full problem. She said that someone listened to the call, and that they said my friend requested reconnection. ON the same day Henri called to say that he did not listen to the call, someone else did.
I now requested to listen to the tape myself, and asked Marilynn to arrange for this for Sat 21/4/2007 at 09h00. On Monday 16/4/2007 I got a message from her to say that they had the tape at the front desk on 14/4/2007 --- I was amazed.
On 17/4 I called and asked to speak to Shawane, he actually listened to me, and even indicated that he can understand why someone might have misunderstood this request as a request for reconnection. I FELT HOPEFUL. He promised to make an appointment for me for 21/4/2007 at 10h00 and would get back to me
I WAITED
19/4/2007 I called again, asked to but put through to a complaints manager, as Shawane was not on duty, who would call me back within the hour, as the problem has been escalated (I now think this just means, the complaint has been filed in the dustbin)
When at 16h00 I still have not been contacted by Multichoice (within the hour she said) I called again, and asked the call centre person who answered Peter, to just put me through to a complaints manager, I got connected to Johannes Nkabinde, who said someone apparently did try and get hold of me. I however had no missed calls from anyone, and received no messages on my answering service.
He promised to again forward an email to Marilynn and Shawane and Nicky to get back to me to confirm the appointment for Saturday 21/4/2007.
I feel as a customer, that I have no value to you, that when a problem arise, you seem to think that it is my problem, and my perception is that I as a customer has no value to you. This saddens me and at the same time makes me really really angry. You have a customer complains department, yet I as a customer feels that you really do not care enough to help me. The experience I had with you really just makes me wonder if I want to be your customer. Should I not spend my money elsewhere.
I am in anticipation to hear the outcome of this issue, I would be most amazed if someone calls me back tomorrow.

I keep on getting emails from DSTV and despite all my best efforts, I cannot get off their mailing list. None of the direct DSTV processes (DSTV's "Let's chat" onle chat, DSTV's whatsapp line, etc) have been successful so far. I do not have an account.
It took 25 days to be delivered. Their service is very very bad. Their agent will keep on lying to you. Just to pretend like they are working then month end get paid. I just received it last week Thursday 20 March 2025. Even today on 25 March 2025 they have not activated it. I really don't appreciate their service.

Dstv people thy cannot help on refund I keep on calling them for my refund until today nothing refunded. All Paper work have sent thy will tell u about network problem when it come to be refunded yur money and all call center thy will tell u that the money is processed but u will never receive nothing at the end of the day I have 10 days know weating for my refund

I subscribed to Compact Plus and the fee of R519.00 is paid by debit order every month. The debit order that went through on 02 October 2019 was for R1099.00. I`ve contacted Accounts twice about the matter and they confirmed that there was an overcharge of R580.00 on my account and they informed me that Finance would contact me to rectify the matter. It is now the 9th and I`m still waiting for Finance to contact me.
I have 2 decoders one on access and the other on compact, I wanted to downgrade the one on compact to access as I can't afford, went on the self service and downgraded. It showed it was successful and I made payment. I checked again it hadn't changed and I went to contact us and requested assistance. Received call but my daughter answered as I had gone to the shops. She explained what the issue was and was told we can not downgrade as it was now the 2nd. I then decided to disconnect it all together, guess what I can't even do that. I mean it's goin to get disconnected anyway so why can't I do it myself? It's actually ridiculous to say the least. When I get disconnected I will not reconnect.
I was an employee account holder, until the discount was taken away, which led me into downgrading to a compact subscription, on the month of April the correct amount was deducted on my account which is a compact subscription amount, but this month which is May, a premium amount was deducted from my account which is wrong since I am subscribed to a compact subscription and I only get compact channels. I need someone to answer to this and be reimbursed
I am so done with this dstv thing...I called 8 times trying to get the E143 error code cleared out. I used about more than a hundred rand the whole day talking to about more than five different consultants. Guys I am paying a lot of money for a bad service. This is my worst experience ever. The systems are inaccurate saying I owe about 1800, I mean really? ...am on premium plus an extra view. I got disconnected now only one decoder has been connected. And now these people even if your call gets cut they would never get back to you. I think I will terminate my account. It's a lot of hussle...I don't have the energy.
Why is twilight breaking dawn part2 not playing, ? If I knew this would be the case I would't have paid the account..no notice, apologies nothing..wher's the loyalty, ..never again!
